Negative experience: Would not recommend this gymn. Will be pleasant enough when you enquire about membership but afterwards is a different story. Some of the staff are obnoxious and arrogant. Lack of customer care and need more training on how to treat ALL members with respect. Appalled at service and how I was made to feel. Also despite raising complaints, not once has anyone had the decency to contact me to discuss.
Positive experience: Been a member of this club now for about 5 years. The good: Outside of peak times you can reliably use the equipment you want to, though 5-7pm it can be quite busy some days. Swimming pool is amazing and clean and the sauna / steam rooms are a nice commodity to have. Shower area is also good with shower gel provided. In the past 12 months the gym floor was overhauled with new equipment which was a significant improvement in quality. Some commenters have complained about the layout but its not something I personally have an issue with. The bad: One issue is that the locker area, while functional, is in need of a refurb and several lockers are now unusable due to locking mechanism not working. Perhaps most concerning factor is the pricing - the recent price hikes have been massive. New sign ups (thankfully there does seem to be some legacy pricing for old members still) are being asked to fork out £80pm for a 12 month contract or £108pm for a rolling anytime. I don't believe this is justifiable and has led to a lot of people leave recently. Don't get me wrong this is a premium gym and IMO the best gym in Nottingham on balance but I don't feel it is worth £108pm. The pricing should be £60pm for a contract / £70pm no commitment in my opinion.
Negative experience: Same as every other persons experience with cancelling. Smart enough to cancel direct debit at time of cancellation. Unfortunately put me in exact same position as others - debt collectors in contact & endless emails, texts and calls- where virgin is refusing to acknowledge the cancellation. Funnily enough never had an issue getting in contact with them before cancellation but now cannot get through to them despite waiting AN HOUR on hold and still no answer.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership but Virgin Active handed over all of my personal details to some company which harrassed me for weeks to pay some fees which had already been paid. I won't be returning to Virgin in the future.
Positive experience: I was a member last year and recently rejoined again after moving back to the city. The equipment is superb and state of the art which is the only reason I’m staying. The spin classes used to be great but the change of music to generic non-licensed music is totally demotivating and I was BORED during the class, I won’t be booking another one. As an aside, the female staff member with pink hair seems to hate her job… completely uninterested in answering questions or being helpful, she’s been there a while and she’s been like that since I first walked in the gym. Everyone else is superb.
Fantastic experience: Great Gym, modern equipment and facilities
Negative experience: Terrible customer service and membership policy has ruined this gym. I was told that my membership would be 12 months, but on the 13th month, and to my surprise, I was charged my fee with an additional £5. They had not informed me of increased prices, nor that i was even a member. After calling and explaining the situation, nothing was done. I therefore had to pay for a month of overpriced gym membership, to a gym that I couldn't even go to.
Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting customer service. Was a member for 3-4years (so couldn’t have been in a 12 month contract), paid my membership for a solid year without setting foot in the place then decided to cancel my direct debit. They have hounded me for £150 and repeatedly bombard me with emails, phonecalls and letters from debt collectors. I would’ve considered rejoining the gym when it suited me again but now never want to deal with another Virgin Active in my life. Absolutely disgusting approach to their customers. Avoid like the plague and maybe try a local gym with a soul.
Negative experience: -10 star!!! even one star is not fair. I had a membership with Virgin Active for several months and decided to cancel it. I visited the gym IN PERSON to request the cancellation, but they failed to process my request. Despite my clear instructions, they continued to charge me for an additional 3 months. When I brought this issue to their attention, they claimed they never received my cancellation request. This is highly unprofessional and feels like a deliberate attempt to extract money from customers without providing services. I strongly advise against joining. Their poor customer service and misleading practices are unacceptable. Save yourself the hassle and find a gym that values its members and operates with honesty.
Negative experience: It’s a good gym but one thing I’ve had a bad experience with is the service. I had to update my direct debit details and tried calling the reception multiple times. Each time my call went unanswered. When I called as a potential new customer, my call was answered in one go. They’re keen on signing on new customers but don’t have enough manpower to maintain the current inflow. Ultimately I had to go to the gym to get my details updated. The lady at the reception was rude and moody. When I asked her why are my calls not being answered, she gave me a look and ignored the question. This is not what you expect when you pay over £50 a month for gym membership.

Our central team we open 9-6pm on weekdays and 9-2pm on weekends for future reference. In relation to feedback I am sorry your call was not answered straight away as we have different lines for different departments, which at times the club reception can be quiet busy.
Negative experience: Sadly the gym is not what it used to be, I’ve been going to the gym on and off for over 10years. There legacy instructors and staff that have been there for over 5years are wonderful & some of the best you will come across, however the new staff sadly are often really unhelpful, moody & rude. Trying to get help or them to follow up anything requires 3-4 calls and emails. Virgin are now also refusing to pay for licenced music - so all the decent class instructors have left in the last month. The music is awful so much so that it actually distracts you from the workout and you lose complete focus. The music is generic licence free garbage, utterly useless if you are doing a class like spin where you need decent high energy music. The quality of the spin classes is something that really sets Virgin apart from other gyms, sadly that has gone. Towels now come at a cost, the cafe is expensive and the staff there are also not the friendliest. Guest passes were given out much more frequently however this has also now stopped. The facilities are often not clean especially the showers, nor are the staff encouraging good hygiene practices as you see classes finish and members just return equipment without cleaning them down often because the sanitisers are empty. Overall incredibly disappointed.

Negative experience: I pay £70 a month and half the time I go a group of people will tell me to stop working out because there’s a class on, it’s ridiculous

Positive experience: This review is over due. An upcoming opportunity within the city wanted me to seek a gym not far from it due to the flexibility of the hours. I have been considering this establishment for awhile however I wanted to go and have a look because sometimes the pictures itself may not do enough justice. I made the call and spoke to Ben who was able to let me come in especially at such short notice, after a good conversation and showing me the various facilities he discussed with me prices, what he felt was best and also did mention new upcoming equipment which by looking at the previous comments seems to have already happened. I even received a follow up email incase i forget what we discussed with the prices on membership and other information on other facilities if I wanted to get my family involved. Overall a great experience from Ben and the reception staff so just wanted to send my thanks again with a review as promised

Fantastic experience: Great place! The gyms recent refurbishment in 2023 has taken the club to a new level. Whether you’re an old school weight lifter, Crossfitter or just like attending a class, it has it all (even rogue echo bikes) The attention to detail is fantastic, especially with standard Dumbells and Hex Dumbells. Highly recommend a day pass if you’re undecided. Give it a bash! I’ve been there over 13 years and still not done a stretch class

Fantastic experience: This is a great space with something for everyone. There is a great selection of classes which I love, not being a fan of weights etc. Also fabulous pool. Never feels too hectic or claustrophobic and the staff and trainers are super friendly. Really enjoying the experience.

Negative experience: In the middle of the cost of living crisis they decide it would be a nice idea for everyone to basically double the price from £52 to £94 a month! They offer a years contract for a similar price but it's a slap in the face when nothing has changed since the month before and even the staff cant give a valid reason for the change The new refurb is also very poorly executed, flimsy squat racks which are always taken up by classes. There are some better built squat racks but they all face each other which is awkward cause your facing directly at other people whilst they squat and have cables attached to them so people just get in each other's way The flooring is poor as well, they put rubber over the old wooden floor so its horrible to lift on cause it's incredibly spongy

Negative experience: Note to all potential new and also old members, Virgin are refusing to pay for licenced music - so all the decent class instructors are leaving. Music will be some generic rubbish from now on or licence free garbage, utterly useless if you are doing a class like spin where you need decent high energy music. Lovely staff, building & facilities and superb range of classes with some great instructors. However they have just imposed a new forced contract membership policy whereby you have no choice but to sign up to a 12 months membership plan despite being members for many years and long out of contract. As a result we're leaving, out of contract membership rates escalate monthly rapidly up to £95 from the usual £55- £60 to force you to rejoin on contract. This may not suit people like myself in industries where job security is currently hard to predict due to the state of the economy. Update - the reply below indicates flexibility- there is none, I've spoken to multiple staff about it and I have to commit to 12 months (which is 14 in reality with the 1 month free initially a d 1 month after 12 months) The insane part is I don't want the £100 credit or free passes as I stated to the staff, I simply want to keep the flexibility to be able to cancel without paying £95 per month!

Negative experience: Used to be a really great gym, since the renovation it has really gone downhill. The gym is cramped with little room, they clearly have sold too many memberships as the gym is always way too busy. Entrance staff are nice but staff on the gym floor seem to be in a mood constantly. The only saving grace is the pool. Sadly this gym is no longer a premium gym and I will be cancelling my membership. The changing rooms are dirty and old, there is no where near enough equipment to what there used to be. During the renovation we couldn’t use half the gym and they still made us pay full price. To add insult to injury they are increasing memberships by 50%. Real shame as management has nose dived a great gym.

Negative experience: Reformer Pilates studio is always filthy, hairs and balls of dusts everywhere. The water fountains are a joke…don’t even bother trying to fill up your bottle in them as your water will pour right out once you start filling it. Considering they spend £1 million on renovations they could at least make it possible to fill up bottles. However the worst part is that my monthly membership is increasing from £52 to £94. I thought it was a spam email when I saw the email. How is that ethical?!

Positive experience: I recently joined virgin active after not being a member of a gym for around 10 years. The staff are so helpful and friendly and for someone who was worried about joining a gym that is really great! The classes are fab and booking is fairly easy and even if they are full you can get on a wait list. My kids (2 and 5) absolutely love club v and request to have longer in there or are disappointed when I go to pick them up. My 5 year old has started swimming lessons and I cannot explain how much he has improved in 3 lessons. Bex his instructor is amazing and he is learning so much so quickly! I had my initial pt/induction session, for me I would of liked this in the first week of joining but I realise it was around the Xmas/new year and they were off but when I did have this it was good. The only reasons I have not given 5 stars is because it would be really helpful if the crèche opened 5 mins before classes started (another big gym does this and it works really well). A number of times I have missed classes because I can’t get the kids in slightly earlier and then the class door is closed. For example 9.30 classes on a Sunday morning and the crèche doesn’t open until 9.30 or classes that start on the hour or at half past I cannot do as I can’t get the kids checked in and get to the class in time and some instructors are very strict with the door being closed at bang on the start time. Also booking the crèche online through the app would be a lot easier. the family changing could do with some work or somehow extending to include toilets. I don’t think I would feel safe when my 8 year old has to use the male changing rooms/toilets on his own. Lastly and only for my benefit it would be great if the cafe stocked more food, maybe pastries or warm sandwich options. If I have 10 mins from the kids it would be great to grab a coffee and cake! I’m not a protein shake type of girl haha! But overall I highly recommend virgin and rave about it to all my friends!

Negative experience: Been a member for nearly 7 years and have loved the place. Beautiful building and pretty good set-up. Unfortunately the constant price increases are just insane. I've had a 15% increase this year over 2 price periods and many more over the last few years, well above inflation which would be understandable. The last increase I wasn't even informed about before they started taking it. Because of how long I'd been a member I actually had a discounted price as well, couldn't imagine joining now for £108 per month. Plenty of more affordable gyms in the area, just joined the JD one about a mile away for £24, tbf it doesn't have a pool or café but I don't use them anyway, plus its 24/7. Shame, I used to love the place.

Fantastic experience: Regarding staff, nice, prompt,ready to help anyone... atmosphere wise, I am enjoying it...and I am a fan of classes which makes the most of it.
Negative experience: Used to love this gym I’ve been a member for years however the new refit has been a complete disaster. Whoever decided to put all the squat racks at the bottom so close together, facing each other and not any mirrors, should be sacked. One smith machine for the entire gym is ridiculous it’s now impossible to get on. The huge middle section is filled with flimsy squat racks, again no mirrors around, that it’s not really possible to lift heavy on as there’s no supports or anything doesn’t feel safe. Not enough cable machines now either and the ones there are, are ridiculously positioned. It seems whoever planned this refit is a CrossFit fan, and that’s the only people who will like this gym now. I will be joining another gym, along it seems with many other disappointed members.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoying training at this club. I can't believe they have invested in Eleiko competition grade bars plates and racks, really looking forward to my next visit and thank you virgin active! The new classes are very interesting too 10/10
Fantastic experience: As soon as you walk through the door, there is always a friendly face to welcome you, especially Suzie who knows me by name and it makes the experience so much more personal. I’ve been coming here for nearly 3 years. I have a personal trainer, Ros, she is absolutely fantastic. She knows my limits physically and always pushes me to strive that little bit harder to achieve my goals. She is always very engaging and genuinely cares about my progress. The very recent refurb is fab! All the new equipment is well organised and gives you more than adequate space to exercise. The classes always look busy and lots of fun.. The crèche is also amazing, my children love it! The staff there are very involved in the children’s activities and they take wonderful care of the children. Genuinely can not fault this gym! (I haven’t used the pool facilities but it looks great).
Negative experience: New layout sucks and another price increase. Adds more equipment but then closes whole sections for classes. Fantastic for kids swimming lessons but I wouldn’t remain here if my kids weren’t having lessons and I’m certainly not the only one.
Negative experience: The new gym layout and equipment is like a IKEA furniture store. Not only do you have to walk past everything to get what to the equipment you want, when you get there you have to assemble it or disassemble it depending on how it was left. The resistence equipment is furthest away from freeweight area, supersetting is now virtually impossible. Inbetween it look likes a children's playground with hanging things and cartoon weights, the 5kg the size of averange tyres (is this to make you feel strong?) And like most playgrounds is rarly used. Someone please review this whole layout and the ladies gym is it really necessary?. Ask a few gym users for advice, people who sit in offices should not design gym layouts. Please rethink.
Negative experience: We’ve cancelled our membership because there was a dodgy, sinister man hanging around the ladies gym. When my wife asked him to leave he tried to intimidate her, and then attempted to intimidate a female member of staff who asked him to leave. In the end he had to be threatened with security. I have 13 and 15 year old daughters who were members too, but it’s clearly not a safe environment for them. I asked the manager how they would stop this reoccurring again, they said they’d send his girlfriend a polite email. Sorry, no that’s wholly inadequate. If my wife and daughters are going to be exposed to misogynist behaviour like that at virgin, we’ll just find a new gym.
Negative experience: I used to be an old customer of this particular Virgin gym. I went last Friday 10/11/23 to have a little tour, talk about memberships etc, to decide if I wanted to join. The gentleman who came to show me around could not be less bothered. I asked him whether there was an area where people could go and work on their laptops and he told me about the quiet room of the cafe, but instead of telling me 'let's go and I'll show you', he gave me directions 'to the right, behind the cafe'. Then I had to ask him 'shall we walk around the gym?', and ask him 'what are the memberships?'. I had to do the sale on his behalf! He made me feel bad, as if I had just woken him up from the big sleep! I understand that the gym must be quiet recently due to the works, and that maybe the employees are not at their peak performance, but that was really poor. Never, previously, while I was a member, had I come across a Virgin employee with that attitude. He made me not want to give my money to Virgin and go elsewhere.

However, the amount of work is being done while trying to use the gym is overwhelming. There are limited machines available to use and noise level is very high even with earphones on you can still hear building works. The gym has turned into a building site.it. I started my routine a few month back but now can hardly do it because there are no equipments. I approached VA and was told they can freeze my account! Thats really appalling Are you expecting us to go elsewhere while you are doing the work? Or you are expecting us to pay full membership with limited access? The management is poor and someone needs to take on responsibility for this. Its a ripoff! Very disappointed
Negative experience: Dont go at the moment its rubbish
Negative experience: The staff have always been incredible, no flaw there... However we went today and left after 10-minutes as the new equipment and layout is absolutely diabolical. We were squatting on a 'rack' and someone wanted to use the cable (which is attached to the squat frame?). We had to offload the bar, take off the bar holder, moved the cable positioning, take off the safety bar, replace the bar holder and then add the bar back on! The bar holders themselves are also loose and wobbly - I didn't feel safe going heavy. When you're squatting, you're also basically face to face with someone else which is awkward and distracting. They seem to have just crammed as much stuff in as possible and not thought about the logistics of people actually using the equipment. So many health and safety issues. If the 'lifting club' section doesn't provide functional and safe equipment we will probably be leaving this gym unfortunately. Left today feeling very angry and disappointed as we had never had problems before.

Positive experience: Really good gym. Clean and the staff are always friendly at reception, classes are amazing too and doesn’t seem to be too busy to be waiting for equipment which is good. However I would say that the amount of children in the gym after school is a bit of a nuisance. I was told that they would be stopping kids entering after 7pm which is evidently not true. The pool is crammed with children which is understandable due to classes after school, however I wish the gym would clearly show what time children are swimming, and also control the classes a bit more as 4-8pm is full of loud children and makes the gym seem more like a leisure centre or lido rather than a high end gym, which is reflected by the pricing. Other than that I cannot complain but just hope this gets managed a bit better as it’s hard to feel relaxed when there are loads of children running around changing rooms and poolside and parents hanging around socialising. Even had a few instances where children would open the doors to the steam and sauna… clearly stopping them entering at 7pm isn’t true which is extremely irritating.
Fantastic experience: A lovely gym with top quality classes. Really impressed with the teachers and trainers and love that they do dance fitness, which is super-fun. Some people have mentioned that not everything is brand new (true), but it’s also really affordable for a good quality gym. Was loving it until I came down with a cold and am looking forward to going back soon!
Positive experience: Love classes, gym and pool. Very clean changing rooms, lovely showers. All staff friendly. I’ve dropped a couple of stars because I had awful trouble parking; just found out that car park free to use for anyone going to Binks Yard. Basically virgin car park free for all! I’m not happy at all. Supposed to be a private health club with parking for members only?
Negative experience: The machines are older than my grandpa and the prices higher than Burj Khalifa, I'm not shocked its like every services in the Uk (high prices - low quality )
Negative experience: I used to really like the gym. Good, friendly and helpful staff, swimming pool, good space. After the renovation much turned around. New setup is ridiculously unfriendly for users. Cages are just impossible to use. Setting them up require a lot of time and people are constantly getting in a way of each other. Just nonsense. Whoever was responsible for that idea should be fired. On top of that in rush hours there is 'lift club' in the middle of the gym, which means that most of the gym is taken by classess. I understand that gym wants to maximize their profits but it cannot be at cost of regulars who just want to do their routine. Few times I was bothered by trainers who wanted to push me out of lift area. Locker rooms require renovation too. I cut my finger on on of the lockers. For all that treatment you have to pay the highest price in Nottingham.

Positive experience: Good gym and staff are really friendly, but quite expensive for what we’re getting. People in the reviews have said the locker room could do with a refresh, and maybe they’re right, but I’d rather prioritise the gym floor equipment. It’s all quite old, and there are cheaper gyms with newer and more equipment. Could also do with some A/C as it gets quite hot/stuffy.
Positive experience: Pleasant experience Used to go to this gym many years ago nothing has change in facilities wise ( attended on a guest pass ). However , front reception desk staff are polite and very welcoming . Equipment is well maintained , could do with a little refurbishment, especially in the locker room areas . ( this hasn't changed in over 10 years or possibly more ) Other than that the gym, in my opinion is well laid out .
Fantastic experience: I came from a very small gym to virgin and it’s been amazing, classes from early mornings to late evenings, the swimming pool is amazing and my kids have become so much more confident in the pool. My children are using the gym floor and it’s great that kids are welcome here .. the changing rooms could do with a freshen up. It’s a beautiful building to work out in the old station and I have never struggled for parking even at peak times, I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to be more active (alone or as a family)
Fantastic experience: Really lovely gym - it's more expensive than a lot of gyms in Nottingham but to me it's worth it. There is always space on equipment, the staff are really nice and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Started PTing with Madga too who is great

Positive experience: Usual Gym has a good combination of equipment, classes PT sessions swimming pool. Due to the lack of space and peak times you may need to wait a little to get some training equipment.

Fantastic experience: Very nice club. I’m from London and was visiting family over the holiday period and thought it would be worth checking out. Its such a shame that the similar priced clubs in London are no way near this premium. As with the one in Salford Quays, it is on a different level to my home club in terms of size, quality of equipment, facilities and cleanliness.

Positive experience: I signed up to this gym cause I considered it a grown up gym. No hordes of students taking over equipment in groups of 5s like other gyms. However, i saw an advert for some student flats including free virgin membership. Why? I love this gym, so calm and clean. Not for long when the students hit. I might look for a new adult gym when my contract is up but I will just see how many will descend on this gym. I understand students mean money but trust me, there are plenty people out there like me who will pay the extra just not to see them.

Positive experience: Good gym with good parking, the equipment is good and the staff on the whole are very friendly and pleasant. Memberships fees are reasonable and the classes are good. For me it's a good location. Hopefully membership prices don't go up as it's probably the upper limit for what I want to spend a month for a gym.

Negative experience: NEVER will i use this gym again. I signed a contract that allowed me to use all of their gyms, which was good as my family are in a different county, 6 months into my contract i went to used their Solihull gym whilst visiting family, I was told my membership only covered Nottingham and their gym was more exclusive, the lady i spoke to made to feel like i was a second class citizen, she was extremely rude and looked down on me. It was extremely upsetting. When speaking to the Nottingham Gym they explained that the rules had changed but they had written to all member to explain, when they checked i had not been notified. The Nottingham branch agreed that it was unacceptable and apologised that i hadn't received notification of the change in contract and advised i could email in and cancel my contract. Due to the fact that my mom is now terminally ill and the only gym i would be able to visit would be the Solihull branch I emailed to cancel my membership. However since then i have harassed constantly and have now received a letter from a Debt Collection Agency. Neve again will i use this gym

As advised, we did restructure our Tier system back in December 2021. This was a positive move and much-needed, however it did mean that a small proportion of members (including those with Nottingham as their Home Club) lost access to other clubs. At the time we emailed all affected members and offered them access to a higher-tiered club at the same price for 12 months. We've asked the Club to contact you about the possible termination of your membership. If there is anything further we can help with, please give do us a call back to discuss. In the meantime, all of us here at Virgin Active wish you all the best.
Positive experience: It's a great gym set up in an iconic lovely old building! It has a nice pool, wide selection of gym equipment and classes and it has a relatively nice cafe/come lounge area. I'd give virgin 5 stars of the prices weren't so extortionate. There are far cheaper gyms like Bramcote Leisure centre for example, that offer the same experience at a fraction of the cost!

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience, staff are always attentive, with so many classes to choose from. From a womens only space, to large mixed gym with an array of machines. I prefer Virgin Active because they have male and female only sauna and steam rooms. Not forgetting the swimming pool where they have family swimming times,cafe area with quiet room. And adjacent hair dressing.

Positive experience: An excellent gym in the building of a former train station. While it is not cheap, it is excellent value for money though if you want a good selection of exercise machines, weights, classes, swimming pool, plunge pool for kids and a steam room and sauna under one roof. You can use the Virgin Active app to handle your guest passes, class bookings, etc. Plus if you have kids you can get 2 hours of childcare included in the V Kids Club. There is a café area, but it closes about 4pm ish and I haven't yet tried their coffees, yet. Ample parking is also available.

Negative experience: Literally have never been able to use weights at this gym as it is always busy, up to and including 10pm at night and 8am in the morning. They also refuse to cancel my membership and threatened debt collectors if I tried to stop payments. Scummy company. Avoid at all costs.

We appreciate clubs tend to get busier during peak hours, therefore we have introduced Club Occupancy feature on the app. Member can check how busy is their club and plan their visit accordingly. If you have signed 12 month contract, we won't be able to cancel your membership early, I am afraid. In line with our terms and conditions, we can look into cancelling early due to medical, financial or relocation reasons upon receipt of supporting documentation. I am sorry to hear if you felt threatened, however as it was advised, cancelling your Direct Debit does not cancel your membership, therefore if you're still in the contract and stop your Direct Debits, the payments will continue as per your commitment and if we're not able to collect payments, then we do have a right to pass it to the third party company. Negative experience: Having recently joined Virgin Active coming from a 24 hour gym at first I felt I had made the right choice in moving to a cleaner, more friendly and better equipped gym. However the experience I had was anything but the above. I was in the sauna, and another member started swearing saying the environment in which I work in is part of some sort of "system" that takes advantage of everyone else. He seemed to feel people should only work if they were working in sport. After constant swearing and shouting from him for around 10 minutes I decided to leave the sauna and report this to the gym staff. Having told a member of staff about the situation I did feel it would get sorted, I was asked to write a statement, which I did send via email (I was told it would be passed on to the general manager). Since sending the email, all I had was an email saying they will cancel my membership, and I have not received ANY communication from a general manager or even the initial staff member that I reported this to, other than the email saying they will cancel my membership. I would say, go to this gym if you want but only if you are comfortable with people swearing very loudly, certainly not what I call a relaxing day of using the Sauna.

Negative experience: Member here since years due to great child care. HOWEVER, now were my son is 10 there is no childcare available and I am stuck with not being able to use the sauna or classes as he isn't allowed there. His only option is now the pool by himself or gym floor with me. So no me time at all ( which is why I joined), no interest from the club to reinstate 10+ kids club and I don't want my kid to be for hours on the tablet because I want to work out. Will leave as soon as contract runs out.
Hi Annika, thank you for your feedback. Crèche take children until they're 9 +11months, I am afraid. For junior members, who no longer can attend crèche we offer family gym induction. They can also swim on their own with the supervision of our lifeguards after they take the shark test. If you would like to discuss these options, please reach out to your home club.
Positive experience: It's ok, staff are friendly, has some nice equipment and free parking, but cardio is clearly prioritised over free weights, which is a bit cramped compared and next to a large women's only bit which, like cardio in off peak is often empty, which is good for women, but not so good for guys who get less equipment for the same fee; it'd be so much better if the area was shared or gender specific only during peak times, it's also very stingy on the guest passes, which is a bit disappointing for a premium gym
