Fantastic experience: The staff are kind and active. The spaces are cleaned and sorted. I only use the gym and am satisfied with the experience. £23 per month is totally worth it.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, Kirklees has closed some sports centre including the Dewsbury and peoples are struggling for their kids swimming lessons and other activities, Huddersfield leisure centre is little far for Dewsbury peoples but it’s worth to visit there, there is a big gym and various classes available to fulfil everyone needs, there are wonder full body attack classes with a brilliant teachers, but we really missed Sauna which is not available in any of Kirklees centres, hope and believe Kirklees is not going to close this centre

Fantastic experience: When going here for swimming, you have a good variety of options. We have attended mini splash and play, and lane swimming and both are well appointed and reasonably priced. Facilities are clean and easy to navigate.

Positive experience: I have recently become a member of KAL and accessing various classes at Huddersfield Leisure centre. The facilities are excellent and the staff and volunteers are encouraging and supportive. After being inactive for some time I would definitely recommend to others as i feel much healthier and more confident.

Positive experience: The pool was a little cold. Didn't go on the slides as the little one was just too small. Showers were hot enough, and changing areas were clean. All the staff were friendly

Fantastic experience: It was class but some douche bag stole my son’s trainers. I will give it five stars cos the the kids loved it and until then, we had a brilliant time and I don’t think the staff stole them, and their response was okay, nice people doing what they could, but I really wanted them to just give me £70 to replace them.

Fantastic experience: I do a KAL class every week for 12 weeks this is my 3rd week and its done me the world of good. I have arthritis in my knees and hips and also have chronic back pain and these classes help alot. After the course I won't to join znd find classes like that so I can get really fit. Good centre totally friendly service. But prices are a bit high in the food part.

Negative experience: Miserable café staff. Asked for a glass of water for my 2 year old and was charged 10p for a cup and told to walk to the other side of the leisure centre to a water fountain. After paying 7 quid for a coffee and a cake.

Negative experience: The pool and changing areas are really dirty at the moment. Have mentioned to staff on the desk but nothing ever changes. No one enforces no shoes in the changing rooms/poolside. Another expensive public facility that hasn't been looked after.

Negative experience: My son and I attended the splash park, we was in 15 minutes when we was all told to vacate the swimming pool we still had 45 minutes left of our session and politely asked reception for a credit for next session they told us to do this online, all staff were so unprofessional and rude, after emailing was told the pool was only vacated for 3 minutes- this is a blatant lie. Declined a credit for next session which is disappointing.

Negative experience: Paid for a family of 4 to go swimming. We enjoyed 15 minutes before the alarm went off and we were told to leave the pool and wait in changing area. We did this, we stood for 10 minutes while staff were running around and knowbody knew what was going on. After this time we decided to get changed as our 4 and 5 year old were freezing and we had booked the play gym for after, the slot was only 1 hour in the first place. After getting changed we seen people were allowed back in. We went to see reception who advised us to contact the online services as they couldn’t issue a refund as we booked online. We contacted online and they can’t help as they claim the pool was evacuated and everyone returned within 3 minutes and this was 100% not the case. I was only asking for a voucher to attend again. Will not return

Negative experience: I have a student membership. Ever since I bought it I have had nothing but issues. KAL supplied me with a KAL card which I didn't need as I was supposed to use my uni ID to swipe through the barriers. Now I cannot swipe through the barriers at all. When I have come to the centre to try rectify this issue I am being told something different every time. I was told that my card had been reported lost or stolen and that this would be taken off so I can use the gym, however it was not. This is very annoying as I'm paying money to use the gym and cannot access it properly

Negative experience: Enjoyed a 20 length swim in the cool. bluenose of swimming pool at HLC. Fairly quiet which enabled me to do several back stroke lengths of pool. Amazing! Shall aim for lunch time sessions. M-C

Positive experience: Great place to take the kids. 2 slides, lazy river and a younger kids slide and activity part. Good for all ages. Can get busy though. Parking is on site and is charged.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Splash park excellent with lots of options for all ages. Parking can be harder at peak times but there is additional parking nearby. The Dare 2 Air is also great value for money! Two great ways to burn off kids energy without costing the earth!

Positive experience: Nice pool and the slides are great fun for the kids. Parents of children who are able to swim and over 8yrs old can sit at the cafe and watch the children.

Positive experience: Overall the experience was okay. The size of the facilities in the photos definitely make it seem bigger than what it is. The price is also steep for the amount of time you actually get. The time should either be extended or the price reduced?!

Negative experience: Nerve had such a bad experience with my kid. The environment was so stressful they we didn't enjoy our time there. Soo many stuff watching so you are out on time!!!!

Negative experience: If your disabled & planning to go in the swimming pool please ring before you go! Be warned that the chair hoist is out of order for most parts of the year. Currently, it has been 4 weeks and the hoist is still not in working order. Countless times my mum has been unable to use the facilities. I hope they can rectify this and other disabled users don't have to face such issues in future.

Negative experience: Honestly, if you get past the booking process on the website then you're doing better than most, it's trash. After that you can go for your HIGH priced swim, if you manage to find a locker that doesn't have a broken keyband, and if you manage to fit your bag into the tiny locker (top tip, a good few stomp kicks usually works). Providing you don't get evacuated every 5 minutes and you can actually spend time pretending it's fun being in the hall of screams for an hour you can go grab your kid a slushy and a flapjack...... If you fancy spending that kind of money, alternatively you could just throw some money in the bin because it clearly is just insignificant to you. So let's say you go to buy a snack anyway, if the lady behind the snack counter outside the changing rooms decides to actually stop EATING CONSTANTLY ON THE JOB and borderline acknowledge you then you can attempt an order..... just don't expect a single word from her, definitely don't accept a smile as I'm almost 103% sure at this point that she's an android or something. You can then return to your car in the car park that cost you like a quid, which makes absolutely no sense at all given the prices of everything else..... but hey, it's about the little wins right? Right? Riiiiggghhhhhtttt???!

Positive experience: Great for my lad who's 4. He loves the slides and pool.. Pity you only get an hour, which I find is a little pricey if you're a single parent. Just means we can only visit half as much as we would like to. Still a great place to visit and it's very clean and well managed.

Negative experience: Joined this gym 12 months ago I pay full membership for myself and full junior membership for my son can't ever get my son into the gym the booking process for the junior membership is a joke don't waste your money look elsewhere

Fantastic experience: It is a lot per month but the classes are great and the gym is a lot quieter compared to JD. Very friendly place so I don't feel uncomfortable exercising

Positive experience: Visited the Splash Centre for the first time. My daughter loved it. My husband and I enjoyed the Sidewinder. Very impressed by the cleanliness of the changing area. Several staff seen constantly monitoring the floor and cubicles. Feel the same should be carried out around the pool area where there were several plasters on the floor. Feel the hour time limit needed extending. Maybe 90 minutes would feel better value for money.

Positive experience: A bit more impersonal for my liking. Car parking is a problem as all the parking spaces were taken and parking for 5 hours in the next carpark was £4.10. Will be using my bus pass in future.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely excellent value for money at around £15 for one adult and an almost 7 year old. My daughter actually said the amazing words "the slide is better than center Parcs!" Haha! Not sure, but either way, she was fully entertained on the Lazy River, slide, and jumping into the pool, so many times I lost count. Clean and tidy changing rooms. Parking was incredibly cheap, contrary to what I read on the reviews. £1.80 or £1.60 for an hour and a half, and took card at the machine. The swimming is booked for an hour slot, so this was perfect! The ONLY thing that was an issue, was when I forgot to bring a pound coin for the lockers, and the staff on reception didn't have any way to help me other than suggesting that I could also use a trolley token, which I also didn't have. Luckily a young lad going into the gym gave me a pound out of the goodness of his heart. Otherwise, an absolutely fantastic swimming session! We'll be back with the cousins, and would strongly recommend!

Negative experience: I’ve not even got there and I’m stressed. It is easier putting a man on the moon than using Yeah Day Out website to book to take two kids to the splash park! Hopefully it’s nice when we get there but after 30 minutes of attempting to book I can only hope it’s smoother and more enjoyable!

Positive experience: Fun splash park, good for small kids (and big kids). Went with my 5yo and 9mo, they really enjoyed it. The flume slide was probably the biggest attraction and the ‘lazy river’ is very fun when on the faster currents. My son enjoyed the smaller red slides, could keep going up and round on them, but the hoses constantly spraying out of the little climbing frame it’s on got overwhelming quite quickly as they’re relentless. I felt it was slightly expensive for the time session you get, would expect 90 mins not an hour for a £20 family ticket. The changing rooms were also very unclean, the baby changing areas and the little plastic cots to pop them in were especially gross (not exaggerating) and floor slimy. Considering the cleaner guy was lingering around the whole hour we were there, didn’t seem much was being cleaned? You also have to pay to park. Despite this, the lifeguards were friendly and attentive. Always great to see. Overall we probably wouldn’t rush back, but it was fun as a last minute visit for us and worth a try.

Positive experience: Good place for family swimming, although sometimes the pool is a little too cold for the baby (even in the baby pool)

Negative experience: Gym is good and good equipment. Staff are nice as well. Membership is over priced for a council gym. The car parking charges are the biggest joke. Not enough they rob you with the membership price but they put the prices up on the car park. Pay to park to use their gym. NGL, glad I'm moving back to Cheshire.

Negative experience: Website utterly atrocious for trying to book a swim session. Tried every date through easter hols and even term time, just sent round in a loop. Shame as would love to have gone whilst the wet weather persisted but their tech needs updating!

Negative experience: Very bad customer service we ask your staff about when does the centre closes and she was like bla bla bla we repeated so many times they didnt even welcome us and didnt know about their own policies.

Negative experience: The staff was very racist and they were treating us like we are nothing like they were blind and knew nothing about their own policy my family was very disappointed.

Negative experience: It was bad service at first they said this is not the correct swimsuit they said the waterproof pants that we were wearing we can’t wear them so we had to buy the swimsuit they had there was no point because they still wouldn’t allow us in they were also racist we had to travel all the way from Manchester to here and this is what we get

Positive experience: It's good, but the prices of food n playgym have gone up. So instead of costing less than £10, it ended up costing £30, and that's with sharing food!!

Fantastic experience: We visit regularly for the splash park. It’s such a fantastic little spot. I would say it’s great for tots right up to kids aged about 12. My sons aged 3, 6 and 9 all love it

Positive experience: Having to pay quite a bit for parking on top of the membership, only to find 0 parking spaces at the best of times is a highly frustrating exercise, pun intended The building is massive and can feel a little overwhelming but it looks clean enough. My experience with the classes is very limited as yet so will update as I go along but staff seems committed and friendly. As it's so big it's good for those who prefer to stay quite anonymous ( like myself) so that's a plus The cafe bit handles extortionate prices so if you're not starving like I was I would avoid Overall ok, bar the aforementioned

Negative experience: Would strongly not recommend. I was using the Stadium facility before they closed this centre down, when they closed this down they gave 4 days to cancel my memebrship, I instead did not cancel in this short time period and continued to use the Leisure Centre. After using the Leisure Centre paying only 4 pounds less than what I did for the premium memeberhsip I had previously that they automatically moved me from, I realised that this did not meet my expectations of what I had originally agreed to when starting my membership. The Leisure Centre is overcrowded and has poor facilities. Swimming here is difficult as their are classes on almost constantly so you end up in two small lanes that are overcrowded, the pool itself was unclean and always had an unpleasant smell. The rest of the facilities were also unclean, shower floors were always slimy and full of hair. The carpark was often full and the gym over crowded. The Leisure Centre and other facilities do not have the same facilities as the stadium had such as the spa area. I tried to explain this to KAL and that I believed the offer of services had drastically changed and that both their contract and my consumer rights should allow me to cancel my memebeship, they did not agree with this as I had not asked to do this within the 4 days they gave me. So I cancelled my direct debit and spent the next 2 months being bombarded with repeated emails about £15 late charges (3 in total charges) and threats of debt collection. They also reinstated my direct debit without my permission. I now have brought my account up to date and have to continue to make 4 months more of payments. I don't belive KAL have acted in good faith on the matter, and are disappointed in the way they have handled this (especially for a "charity") and I am unhappy that I have been threatened into paying for a service I no longer use or want or is even available. Their are plenty of better value fitness centre nearby that I would recommend above KAL. I have plenty of other things I could write as to why I stopped enjoying using KAL but I have written a long enough review.

Positive experience: It's a very nice swimming area. The picture you see isn't the best where it's bare and getting built. Update on first glance needed. Apart from that. Great for kids

Negative experience: First thought was brilliant until you actually get closer to the pool. 2 male life guards chitter chatting about the public behind their backs young lad on the left as you go in im 99% sure he has glasses on no older then 26. Then apparently you can't wear a t shirt but I have a skin condition that NO other swimming baths in West yorkshire has ever had an issue with whatsoever. Staff (not all but mostly lifeguards) arrogant and I can surely say I won't be going again. To top that off I've been to many swimming baths and not one of them was dirty as this one! This swimming baths has so much potential just lazy arrogant lifeguards with a pool that needs a clean! Can't stand places that employ arrogant people makes you not wanna go back.

Positive experience: The woman on the desk was lovley it’s good to have a warm welcome when you first enter. Facilities were good. It was very very busy as it was half term and raining. The thing that really let it down was trying to park.. we arrived 10 minutes before our swim slot as you get a hour when booking and we didn’t get parked till 20 minutes after. Eating into our swim time. That was frustrating and many other frustrating visitors. If it’s term time on a rainy day make sure you get there with plenty of time.

Every question I asked she interrupted halfway through answering "you'll have to go on the website for details"... Makes me wonder why she even answers the phone in the first place. Negative experience: Frustrating Experience - Poor Handling of Discrimination Unfortunately, I observed a situation where female customers faced discrimination, and the staff members and managers failed to address it appropriately. Disappointed with the lack of action and support. Improvement is needed in handling such incidents

Positive experience: Bit cold in the changing area. Aqua Relax an hour to chill and go at own pace. I did aqua aerobics and length walking to aid an injury. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful time. We took a few available members of our family, not at work this day, to celebrate our granddaughters' 1st birthday. And the event was really enjoyable. Loads of fun for all of us, very well maintained bathing area and lots of smiley happy staff. Thanks guys.

Fantastic experience: Huddersfield Leisure centre is a relatively new build. It caters for babies right through to pensioners. There are 3 swimming pools. One competition, a training and a splash and slide for all age groups. The sports hall is cavernous, housing 8 badminton courts. A combat area, squash courts and other facilities are all housed under one roof with a bright, clean and cheerful interior. A small restaurant provides meals and drinks in the foyer. An adjacent car park provides pay for parking at a very economical rate. If this is full there are several others in eye shot. A lot of activities and classes are laid on. A great facility all in all.

Positive experience: Lovely place. Swimming is great for kids and family. Instructors are available and they are supportive, patient and skilled. Good sized and clean indoor pool with all all accessories needed for smimming at all levels. Decent parking and disabled friendly facilities. A little maintenance and repairs to the ceiling of the pool will be fine.

Positive experience: Was generally clean, quiet, cheap, easy to access and a good experience. Not the most amazing play area maybe but our child is quite young anyway. We went during the week and there was only one other family there. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would certainly go again.

Negative experience: I've been lane swimming here for about 5 years. There are only two lanes during term time so you get people too slow for the fast lane and too fast for the slow lane making both lanes hell for everyone. They have pretty much given priority to the kids and the adults are squashed in. The militant booking system came in during covid and if you make a mistake booking or you can't attend say goodbye to your money! No refunds or amends as they say read our tandc's. This is not legal as anything you purchase online should have a cancellation policy and you have consumer rights. I go every week so it's disgusting they won't credit your account for a missed session if you give notice. Some of the lifeguards are good and move slow people out of the fast lane.

Positive experience: I used this gym for 1 year before I moved away. It has most of the equipment you need if you are serious about lifting, excluding a chest fly machine and some other minor things. There are better versions of equipment at other gyms I will admit: such as much better seated hamstring curl machines which have static pads above the knees. The gym is generally not too busy and you can workout everything you need to. There are 6 squat racks but only 2 bench press benches. There are lots of other benches too though. It can get busy in peak times but not to the extent that it is unusable.

Fantastic experience: Recently went here in summer hols with my friend and our children (5-8 years old). We were pleasantly surprised. It's very clean and the number of people they allow in each session is well controlled so it doesn't feel busy. There's lots of life guards so you feel safe. The slides, lazy river and splash play areas were perfect for our children's age range. Even though the session only last an hour that's just the perfect amount of time to not get bored.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant place for the kids. I took the wee man to the Dare2air and now I feel my age. 25 minutes into bouncing and I looked like I had actually been in the swimming pool.

Negative experience: Once upon a time it was a good gym, now I only come here on match days since there's no chance of parking round the stadium. It's a messy gym, no organisation of equipment, I had to search the whole place for 2 barbell clips on a saturday afternoon, don't get me started on trying to find the plates I needed. Everything is just left all over the floor to trip over. Weight machines crammed into each other, you feel the shock as the person behind you slams down to finish their heavy set. Badly designed changing rooms, nobody wants to bump into someone out the shower while they now walk butt naked across the whole changing room to fiddle around for their towel. Upon entering the building on a hot day you feel like you've just walked into an oven, there is no AC around the lounge/entrance. Staff don't say hi as they pass you through the building, probably exhausted from the humid working conditions.

Negative experience: In the beginning, it was good. But one day a cleaner harassed me there and i complained about it. But they were not taking any action nd i stopped going over there.

Fantastic experience: Good afternoon I would just like to complement your staff A I work in an assisted living home A few weeks ago I brought two of our residents both in wheelchairs (both can walk a little with cerebral palsy) the staff were amazing From the front desk staff sorting out pool side chairs, to changing room staff helping sort out rooms suited to our needs. Pool side lifeguards who help us in an out, as well as keeping that extra eye on us Yes it was quiet BUT me an one the residents went again yesterday, The place was very busy but the professionalism of the staff did not drop one little bit People of there age get a bit of a dab rep, but I can say with certainty the staff you have are absolutely brilliant and do they job so well they are a credit to the company and them selfs Because of them we felt so safe Thank you so much to all at the pool yesterday from 10:15 till about 12 when we left

Negative experience: No stars. Had an incident which resulted in all of us having to leave after 10 minutes of being there, tried to complain about it and ask for a refund as we didn’t get anywhere near the experience we should and got turned down. A lot of money was lost , but it is what it is. Park itself is alright but won’t be coming here again. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Brilliant splash pool, loved the Flume and Lazy River, but the yellow slide is a bit painful on the bits between segments. Very exciting and the queues weren’t long! Great value family ticket, lots of lifeguards. Very clean changing rooms!

Fantastic experience: We have been using the ‘toddler sessions’ for years. Absolutely perfect for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children for us) our children are so happy and able to play and explore. Changing facility is for families so no struggle of having to separate. The staff are fantastic. So helpful and so understanding. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Having tried to book sevral times for the dare to air on the website to no avail.i decided to go and book at the complex I explained to the lady that I could not do it on the website she said that it is new and they have teething problems. Positive experience: Fabulous for a family swim. . Cafe experience poor. . Counter Staff really slow with a couldn't care attitude that was plain to see. . VERY Expensive . . with basics, like Butter being an Extra Cost on a jacket potato?

Positive experience: This is a great place for kids. They also have a full swimming pool aswell as a splash zone. 2 slides available in the splash zone with short queues.

Negative experience: No point enrolling your teen on this gym. It’s garbage as they can only go to 5pm during week. So waste of money in term time! Plus the gym staff come across as rude! Plenty of better gyms out there.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, if you want to rent a locker you need a pound coin, you will get it back. Be aware that if you sign up for a membership they will sting you with a £10 joining fee. Also sessions have to be booked in advance, this also includes using the pool.

Positive experience: Great once I'd worked out the booking system. Good value for a family ticket for Mini splash and play, not so good if only 1 adult and 1 child, 18 months old.

Positive experience: 1 great slide, 1 half pipe drop in type slide. 1 tiny toddler slide & 1 small child slide. Shallow pool area and a gentle lazy river. Squirty guns and other bits to play with. All I all it's good. Just wish there were more for the adults when the kids are off, or access to the lane swimming pool which is next door. Change facilities are large with plenty of lockers and changing areas. All usual facilities, toilets, showers, disabled, etc. Do sell emergency swim gear and accessories if you forget yours. Staff are friendly, but all kids. It's all well managed as well. Not overly strict either. I go regularly as its the kids favourite if all this type close by.

Fantastic experience: Extremely polite and helpful staff, the gym facility has a huge variety of machines and equipment available for every type of exercise you could possibly need. The staff personally come and help it asked and demonstrate how to use the equipment if you are a bit lost on technique or variations of an exercise. Will be using their facilities again in the near future.

Fantastic experience: Busy and wet. The kids loved it the slides were great and que's for the slides weren't too bad. My suggestions would be go straight to carpark opposite the leasure centre. Plus make sure you look at the price of goggles your son picks up before you've already paid. £25

Positive experience: I book and turn up at certain times but feels like the capacity is over some of the time, take upto 40 people at set times but have witnessed some waiting for lanes to be opened up to 15 minutes after advertised as staff take time to lay lanes out then even longer for life guards to be avaliable, I avoid certain times where possible as it seems that a creep who i have witnessed walking around the village is allowed to stay in the pool for beyond the 1hr booking so he can VERY obviously stare at kids on swimming lessons, and when not staring at kids he's swimming as close to women as his fitness allows
