Negative experience: What an absolute waste of time. Always packed, never any available cardio machines. Water fountains broken, entrance in gym broken, desk unsupervised. Hand dryer in female changing room has been broken for a month. For the money they ask, I'd want this place to be fully working if not exceeding my expectations! Just got here but driving home already, waste of time, rubbish place.

Negative experience: Booked swimming lessons for my 2 year old for the first time she was super excited. However there was a mistake with the booking and after getting changed and getting in the pool with my little one the way the swimming instructor dealt with it was very disappointing. My wife and 2 year old ended up walking out and was both upset. No way in the world I would let them teach my daughter after that display. Good luck!

Negative experience: Went there for the steam room. It said nothing on their website that it is out of order, so I booked online and was sorely disappointed when I got there. Steam room out of order. Hair dryers in the ladies changing room out of order. Worst leisure centre I have been to, and they wouldn't even provide a refund.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I just had our gym induction with Morgan. He was amazing! My daughter has high anxiety and it took her so much to get to the induction. Morgan made her feel at ease straight away, and gave us great tips. My daughter feels so proud of herself so thank you Morgan! We’ve jumped a big hurdle this morning.

Negative experience: Be aware that the leisure centre will continue to charge you even when they cancel the service they are providing, and there'll be no refund. What a shame.

Fantastic experience: We had our daughter’s 11th birthday at Holly Hill with the inflatable obstacle course in the pool. From the very first call to enquire about the party, through to the moment we left the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. During the party the duty manager (sorry - I didn’t get your name!), Alfie and the other life guards were superb. Nothing was too much trouble and the kids all had an amazing time. We highly recommend Holly Hill if you’re looking for a fabulous party option at a reasonable price with a great team of people to take care of you. I only wish we lived closer as we would swap our gym and leisure membership to Holly Hill in a heartbeat after our experience with them.

Fantastic experience: Great for swimming, good staff, the reception person was fab as I had my hand full with kids open the big gate kids do lessons too so early start lessons so have rest of day to do other thing, the instruion and lessons we'll given time taken to get it all right. deadecation from swimming teachers to swimming success

Negative experience: Used to be good but now dreadful. Gym full of teenagers & loud techno music playing. New cardio equipment is cheap & there isn't any storage on some for more than a water bottle. Some not replaced at all. You MUST take your phone to get in as they won't issue cards. Plastic living wall (irony). Geared towards kids who sit on a machine looking at mobile. I won't be renewing my membership. Sad as I've been a Life centre member since they were firstcreated created.

Negative experience: Just joined this gym. It's a great gym with friendly staff and always kept clean. However, it is insanely frustrating that the drinking water taps are ALWAYS empty or out of order! Always. Can't get any water while in the gym - just absolute basics not being sorted out. On top of this, the showers outside the sauna are always out of order or somewhat broken. There's enough members of this facility that pay, for these issues to be resolved. Basics. Sort them out, please.

Negative experience: Holly Hill Leisure Centre, Salisbury. I joined this gym largely due to its convenient proximity and its balance of classes, gym and facilities. First, the good points; the reception staff, gym staff and personal trainers are generally very friendly and helpful (albeit sometimes staff are completely absent from the gym). The Les Mills programmes are first class. And now areas for improvement; far too much equipment and/or too many facilities are out of order (sometimes, quite literally for months); these include (but are not limited to) the entry gate system (though the system is very quick to incorrectly register a “no show” with a fine and inability to book classes, the sauna, the showers, the treadmills and cardio equipment. As mentioned, there is a frequent absence of any staff anywhere in the gym. The sound system in the instructor led spinning classes is often so loud, that the instructions being barked out are so distorted they are unintelligible. By contrast, the Virtual classes are led by well articulated, inspirational instructors, although the volume is often set uncomfortably high (as a result of the instructor led classes), and more recently only 60% of the screen is working/visible. It is very often difficult to find any staff to assist with any issue, either in person at the gym, or on the phone, when calls often ring off the hook, completely unanswered, but again, the reception staff downstairs (often only one person to handle all in person queries and seemingly answer the phone) do try their best to assist. On several occasions I have attempted to provide respectful, polite, constructive feedback, but this really does appear to ‘fall on deaf ears’. Overall, Holly Hill Leisure Centre is certainly a decent mid range gym, but is let down by the management, who really do need some basic customer service training. Ryan, the manager I spoke to most recently was incredibly rude. There’s simply no other way to say it.

Positive experience: It's quite a nice pool for lessons but they really missed a trick when they built the pool by not having full time seating for parents to use alongside the pool. They have it at the Fareham Pool. Really short sighted.

Negative experience: Came here to take my kids swimming. After a 10 minute wait to be served was told it was fully booked. This is a normal swimming session public swim i have never had to prebook for this at any leasure centre. The pool didn't even look vaguely busy. They cold have at least put a sign up to save me the 10minute pointless wait Will not be returning!

Fantastic experience: It is very modern, spacious and has a lot to offer. I love the sauna and steam room. Love the classes and a fact I can go to the spa after that to rewind. Music is really good while I swim and I feel more motivated with some good tracks. Staff is really friendly and helpful. It is great they have a coffee and ice cream van just outside. You can have a lovely walk in a park after that. and most of what I love is the price for that. You can't beet £29.99/month. While every other leisure centre saving on energy bills they are steaming hot! Love it! Thanks"

Negative experience: Come here with my son for his swimming lessons, only to be surrounded by 5-10 teenagers, loitering INSIDE, swearing, shouting, not really a place for families. Staff do nothing.

Negative experience: I believe most if not all my reviews on Google reviews have been positive so far. In July, I am aiming to do a charity swim - I emailed and phoned the swim manager who did not reply. This leisure centre has a good length of pool and came recommended, so I phoned up and booked a tour and discuss membership. 'Friday - between 4 and 8pm, there will be someone from the membership group to take you on a tour.'. I turned up at 6.30pm - they had gone home. The poor lad on the desk phoned for his duty manager. Nope - he told him that I could make my own tour if I wanted. I walked to where the lad had directed me - no eye contact from anyone, no smiles, I was always in the way, too busy. I walked back to the desk - poor lad was busy. Disappointed and rather upset, yes. Thankfully, another pool has offered me a free swimming session and money off a membership due to my charity swim and being a teacher - WIN WIN.

Positive experience: We joined the swimming monthly membership and it is one of the better one that we have joined over the past with a few different venue. Definitely newer facility and the pool is 25m which is decent size compared to some clubs' pool. Although the design of the access to the lady or men changing room is not convenience but shower stalls is available by the pool. The pool is pretty crowded, especially the weekend which is difficult to swim even though you make a booking. The steam room is hopeless as it broke down every second day since we joined the club back in June!

Fantastic experience: Great place! Lovely woodland walk, with lots of places for a picnic. Although slightly steep in some areas, it's good for all abilities and ages. There are easier routes to choose, if you prefer. It takes approximately an hour or so to stroll around, but you don't have to do the whole route. Great for dogs, but they do have to be kept on leads. Parking is free and to there's an ice cream kiosk and a great playpark, just across the road at the leisure centre.

Positive experience: Lovely park, lots of open space to play, swings, slide, climbing frames and see saws for all ages, little coffee hut serving, hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice creams

Plenty of gym equipment and space and bike room is also a great asset however, I think there needs to be more staff on gym floor throughout the day as weight plates and equipment is never sorted. I have walked around for minutes a few times trying to find certain plates. Not a big deal but just more of an inconvenience

Positive experience: Think there should be a 'slow lane swim option' during the day and not just early morning or 9pm in the evening. Theres fast & medium...why not slow?

Positive experience: App is a nightmare. If you dare cancel a class without a follow up phone call you get charged. Having paid up front for a platinum membership very disappointed. Staff are friendly but not always aware of information. No social distancing, people seem to think Covid is left at the door. Very few wear a mask to enter the building, can't do this anywhere else!!!

Positive experience: The staff are all really friendly and helpful and those going to the gym are of all fitness levels but I feel "equal" to all of them if that makes sense?! I don't walk in and feel intimidated and I am not a fit person (working in it though ) Not sure what will happen when restrictions eventually lift but I don't think that will be June 2021 as hoped anyway...

Negative experience: I don't know about the centre itself but try finding out information on the website, it's appalling. I want to know whether I can take my 3 year old for a swim tomorrow morning for a public swim. The information is buried deep in the bowels of the site and I'm still not sure if I was looking at info for this or some other 'everyone active' centre. Sort it out please!.....Having now visted the centre itslef is pretty reasonable. Nothing special but no significant complaints.

Fantastic experience: I just joined the gym. I mainly joined for classes but unfortunately they are all booked up at the times I can go every single week. On the plus side I cant praise Danielle enough. She is a fantastic personal trainer, really motivating and encouraging. You can tell she loves her job and I'd recommend sessions with her to anyone. I genuinely look forward to my next one and each time it's something different. Thank you so much Danielle!

Negative experience: The most un-family friendly place to take the kids. Every time we book swimming for the early evening it seems we're told they've had an "accident" in the pool and have had to close it. Funny how when you check the booking slots there's loads free so they've obviously just decided to cancel the swim session because of a lack of guaranteed numbers. Not very considerate especially when you have a child with Autism who doesn't understand. Once is maybe understandable but either they're misleading us or the children in the local area need a daily dose of immodium! Disgusting. Poorly run and disorganized. Go to Fareham. It's much better.

Negative experience: Do not take out the annual contract. If you want to cancel part way through after paying upfront they refuse the refund of the balance of your cash. Going to have to go to the financial ombudsman to get this sorted ! What a waste of time and energy! I am not asking for a refund on time spent but future.

Positive experience: Really nice pool. Enjoyed our swim. Lots of the wrist straps for the lockers were broken though which is surely not difficult to fix

Fantastic experience: This is our favourite local place to swim (although no flumes). Underfloor heating in the changing rooms, family changing rooms, nice and warm kiddy pool.

Positive experience: The pool is shallow with narrow lanes and in constant duel usage so can get busy. You don't pay half when you get half the pool.

Negative experience: Pool is disgusting not swam in such a dirty pool before tonnes of rubbish and dirt at the bottom. Previous weeks it has been too cloudy to see. Lifeguards don't stop people being in the wrong lanes. Awful experience considering it is a new pool!

Positive experience: Nice centre

Negative experience: Good facilities but not clean, the toilets are always filthy, showers are filthy and gym equipment very unclean most of the time. If they could get the welcome staff to say hello when you arrive and smile and employ someone to clean the toilets, showers and get the gym staff to walk around cleaning equipment it’d be a great gym.
