Negative experience: The showers, disabled room, and inflatable area at this location are exceptionally dirty. Over the summer, my daughter developed a sensitivity on her chin after being bruised at this center, leaving a visible mark that has not yet faded.

Fantastic experience: It nice there its beautiful the place big your child can get taught and move up levels

Negative experience: Like a kid playground. Didn’t know if I was in chreche or a gym, people stood in groups hogging equipment couldn’t even run away because all treadmills was in use Felt like i was back in highschool with all groups went to look for dinner lady at one point

Positive experience: Nice pool but changing rooms are poor. Dirty and very wet. Pools of water everywhere because of poor drainage, changing rooms feel dirty and have a nasty odour to them

Fantastic experience: The staff were very welcoming and friendly and when I enquired about a membership the lady was very helpful. It has a nice gym and they do different classes here which are good.

Negative experience: Poolside staff need customer focus training, surly and disinterested. Went in for a swim with a child 25 minutes session ended. Session timings not explained at front desk on entry. I was asked to change go to reception re-book the next session get changed and get back in the pool. Utterly ridiculous!!!!

Fantastic experience: Staff are always really kind and welcoming and happy to help with anything it's amazing that they have joined up with citizen coin to help thoughts that volunteer. I went to the mummy and toddler session there where loads of toys out for kids to play with, and the water was really nice and warm me and my little one went at the end of the session so wasn't too busy, but she enjoyed it.

Positive experience: Not a great experience today. Pool is lovely and clean and the facilities nice however the overall experience…. Lost 20 minutes of time slot as quick ticket machine not working and there was a big group of some adults, children and teenagers trying to pay and there was some misunderstanding about ratios. Only 2 members of staff and this big group delayed the rest of us. Then the teenage/pre teen boys from said group were generally being inconsiderate of other users in the pool and taking over all the space and kept trying to encroach into lane swimming inspite of staff instructions. Terrible behaviour. Most other adults ended up in lane swimming to keep out their way - I didn’t want to get kicked or injured by their mucking around. Also there were other parents with very small children whose space they kept barging into and generally being obnoxious.

Fantastic experience: Just joined the gym here can't wait to start using the facilities.

Positive experience: Pretty good, facilities lots of lovely staff. Unfortunately lots of sketchy people hanging around outside a lot if the time .. I was threatened by a passerby I'm going to get stabbed.. but it's great once you get in!

Negative experience: Need better hairdryers that don’t need change to run, should be free and come with the price of admission! Not everyone has free change lol when needed! Also staff can be quite rude, especially those at the reception desk and are not very helpful! Apart from that, it’s not bad and their class timetables need to be looked at again and made easier for the public to decipher!

Positive experience: Friendly reception and staff around the pool area. Love the sauna and steam room. Let down badly by the dirty changing rooms during the week. Need time for a good clean between sessions. Totally different experience Saturday morning changing rooms spotless

Positive experience: Good place for kids swimming lessons. Hard to get a space. My daughter was in the waiting list for few months. Parking is a problem. You need to pay and park if lessons are before 6 pm. Could do with better facility to shower after / before swimming. Could improve cleanliness in the changing areas. Really helpful and friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym and swimming pool for Wakefield residents. The cost of using the facilities is very reasonable, as is the cost of membership, with discounts for OAPs. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean and modern.

Fantastic experience: Very nice pool for learners or older people....disabled access to the water even for wheelchair users and they don't kill you off with cloreen very clean n nice place and the staff are kind and friendly

Fantastic experience: Always a clean environment, staff are always helpful & welcoming. They provide a 12 week fitness programme for free with the gym membership which is already a very cheap price. Highly recommended!

Positive experience: well the hoist in the studio pool isn't broken its a fantastic pool. There needs to be a pool side hoist to the big pool & it needs to be open to the public in the studio pool more often. This is the only pool in the whole of the Wakefield area that has this facility but unfortunately other classes have more priority than serverly disabled people. The staff however are amazing they will do anything to help if they can. Its the guys at the top that arnt interested im afraid. Great little pool 2024

Negative experience: Ehhh Wakefield... Nowhere to park, smackheads near entrance. Horrible, rude and unhelpful desk crew. Changing rooms stink of piss. Studio pool shut for no reason(public swimming on both according to website), main poll not too bad hence an extra star.... I guess you get what you pay for.

Negative experience: Lovely swimming pool, but ladies in the reception are so arrogant, rude and not approachable they should change their attitudes not paying every month to see that attitude!

Positive experience: Nice place but the pool water is freezing!!!! And the small pool never seems to be open! Changing rooms could do with keeping cleaner also, the floor was grim

Positive experience: A good gym with pleasant and helpful staff. One problem I have though is the single Olympic bar to share between the whole gym. On shoulder day I have to miss pressing etc. On back day no rows n stuff. All because we need more 20kg bars. One of the staff suggested using one of the light bars but we don't pay a membership to make do every time. Apologies for the complaint about an otherwise great gym.......order more bars

Negative experience: won’t let us go to junior gym apparently “full” stranded in streets of wakefield with nowhere to go for over a hour because not allowed in even tho i pay monthly for it have to travel by bus that takes 45 minutes to get here all other buses are cancelled. One person coming out off the gym isn’t gunna affect anything which me working on my self

Negative experience: wouldnt let me in because the gym was “full” i pay monthly to come to the gym to work on myself not to sit and wait for 1 person to come out as if 1 person will change anything. I travelled 30 minutes to get here to just not be let in im not going to keep travelling all this way for nothing so they need to seriously change what theyre doing or else theyre losing money.

Positive experience: Needs floor cleaning on regular basis around changing rooms and lockers with some chlorine as it stinks there!!!

Fantastic experience: Signed up at the end of June. Was very nervous about starting swimming again after 15 years or so, but its like riding a bike. I swore I wouldn't enter the gym as I always felt judged and out of place, but thanks to Charlie, Alan and Andy as well as some of the other members, I now use it fairly regularly - although swimming will always be my priority as I enjoy it more. The classes are fun - out of the ones I have tried - (body pump and body combat arr brilliant!) and the ladies on reception - particularly Katie, Carol and Joanne are always lovely and polite The lifeguards are helpful and polite too; there is a young lad with brown hair about 20ish slim build who spoke to me the other day about swimtag - he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Dealt with my query quickly and politely. If staff are abrupt with you, maybe take a look at how you are with them. Kindness costs nothing even if you are disappointed with something! Overall, the facilities are lovely and clean, and i feel safe. No one judges you, and because of how brilliant everyone has been, I'm now able to use the gym on my own and not worry! Thankyou to everyone at Sun Lane.

Negative experience: Not advisable to take anyone autistic who likes waterplay. In the small pool today with a young autistic adult, the pool was empty apart from a young mother & child ...was told by the lifeguard to take the autistic adult out If more people come in as he was happily splashing far away from others in the pool...was told he was splashing too much...even though he was supported by another adult in the pool who was shielding others Would not recommend this so called liesure center for anyone with disabilities or autism...lifeguards were of no assistance whatsoever..the older one with grey hair did nothing but moan..will NOT be returning

Positive experience: Visited for their Saturday morning toddler swim session in the small pool, was enjoyable, under 3s are free and it was around £5 for an adult. What let’s it down is the temperature of the pool which is pretty cold. And the changing rooms, they absolutely stink of wee it’s like all the floors and everything is coated in wee I felt absolutely disgusting.

Negative experience: Useless twice I have put my daughter on the list for swimming lessons and twice she's been taken off, saying I have not contact them I rang 4 times in 2 days left my contact details and no one rings back when I email about this I am ignoring the staff really need to sort there communication skills out. Avoid

Positive experience: Parking was an issue. Rude member of staff wouldn't give me a parking permit. I took photos of 2 vehicles that didn't have a permit/ticket, she said if I parked there Traffic warden would ticket me, funny them 2 cars didn't get 1. I moved my car. If that's what you get for been honest, I give up!!

Positive experience: I usually have a good experience as there are very good facilities at this leisure centre. However today I could not swim a full length in the swimming pool due to a group of people talking about their lives for half an hour in a big circle in the deep end of the medium lane. Its ok if you want to swim half way up the pool and then stand up. The lifeguards are too nervous to make a comment incase of losing membership payments. I will try to avoid these people and continue to try to use the facilities.

Fantastic experience: Great health centre. The facilities and staff are spot on. They've recently had some upgraded equipment in the gym, which is great to see the continued investment. It would be nicer to have some longer opening times on weekends, and for the aspire membership scheme to offer a couples membership to help save some money, but sun lane is an excellent facility to have and be able to use.

Positive experience: I have joined in with a number of pool based exercise classes. Which I have thoroughly enjoyed. The sessions are great fun, the instructors demonstrate the routines as they go along to meet various ability levels and a wide range of music is played to encourage your participation. Members of the staff team I have met have been very friendly and helpful. Before I joined I was given a tour of the facilities. The pools are the only part I can comment on, but there's a lot more going on within the centre than you think. I do have one moan, and that is the number of poolside showers that are currently of order, which is a pain when it's busy.

Fantastic experience: Very good venue for a swim in the studio pool. All staff, on reception and poolside, we're really friendly and helpful. Good sized family changing areas and the small pool was a good temperature with lots of play equipment. Only downside was a chilly draft from the changing room door making that end of the pool a bit cold. Overall though, a very enjoyable swim.

Negative experience: Terrible, Aspire cards don,t work on turnstiles. Very limited seating for parents. No provision for parents through turnstiles to supervise children for changing into swimming costumes.

Negative experience: Very rude and abrupt female member of staff in the gym on an evening. I've been there for a very long time and never had an issue with anyone else very nice and friendly but wow the new lady who used to be a member first now works there doesn't know how to speak to people, absolutely ridiculous. I'm a paying member and have been for a long time. What happened to respecting your elders.

Negative experience: I go there often and park behind the building but I didn’t know I wasn’t allow as is only “staff” parking, they had to block my exit before telling me I am not allow to park there. VERY RUDE STAFF!!!

Positive experience: Decent gym lots of equipment large pool area and kids pool limited availability as with sauna and steam room check on actual site or ring up as the online timetables are not reliable or updated. been twice and wasn't able to use facilities needed as wrong times online and they had changed timetable 2 complaints issued no feedback was told by receptionist that this was a on going issue as lots of people and families complain that the timetables are wrong turning up for a family swim and not allowed in kids left crying needs addressing but as mention no response to complaints made

Fantastic experience: My son went and picked up his card so he can use the gym. It reallyis a far cry from the sun lane I remembered. Beautiful rooms, they were having the pool redone at the time, really nice equipment too, lockers in the gym room so no fear of leaving valuables in your locker. I was really impressed.

Positive experience: The place is clean and tidy but that’s because they are pushing cleaning solution over your feet while you’re putting your stuff in a locker. Staff are pretty useless and have no sense of urgency given how short and ever changing the swim timetable is. Lifeguards are arrogant. Especially a few in particular. They seem to have a “I have a bit of power” swagger that just puts you off from enjoying yourself. A bit of retraining required there I think

Positive experience: Plenty of quality machines in the gym, clean as it can be with constant use. The staff are always ready with advice and assistance. As for the swimming pool I haven't been for some while so am not really qualified to say, however it was always of a high standard

Positive experience: Pool is great. Changing rooms a bit dirty. There's a rule to take your shoes off when entering the changing room. But floor is dirty so people don't want to take shoes off which makes it dirtier!
