West Bromwich Leisure Centre

Positive experience: Only came for a small introduction to the gym, had the wonderful Zabeena(apologies if I got it wrong) as my tour guide and was absolutely helpful from start to finish. Gave so many helpful tips, information and was very clear alongside creating a friendly atmosphere. She made it feel welcoming, inviting and not at all pressuring to join and understood my circumstances. As for the quality of the gym, I first visited when it opened in West Brom and intermittently went for classes, swimming etc. The facilities look and feel new and goes to show how well looked after it is, other staff members are friendly and from what I have seen in the past and presenr the interpersonal relationships between staff and members is heartwarming. In terms of price for gym compared to others in the area, for the price you pay to have a more relaxing, non-intimidating experience I'd say is well worth it

Fantastic experience: I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who would like to start on their fitness journey or even want to get fitter and stronger. The leisure centre has pool, sauna, steam room, fitness classes, a separate ladies gym. Junior gym from 11 years up and regular gym too. There are other studios with other extra activities which may need extra payments and not everything maybe included in the monthly gym membership. They have martial arts coaching, table tennis etc but these are privately run for children and adults on weekends.

Negative experience: Iam a disable person the disables showers are never working always sometimes is wrong with it. As lam a full membership I do not get my befit out of it. The steam room never working properly. Iam very disappointed afer coming so manys years . I will be look somewhere else. To get better service.

Fantastic experience: Still as good

Fantastic experience: Today 11/10/2024 was the best session in sauna steam and the machine was working exactly how a steam sauna are supposed to work. Constant steam at a very good pace and temperature. Slowly building up and enjoyable 15-20 min session. Don't change the variables and conditions on the machine.

Negative experience: Joined back up after six months so far I have only been in gym and mens changing rooms upstairs ,no toilet roll ,bins full and floors filthy upstairs in mens changing rooms .

Negative experience: Paul tutor for swimming isn't good enough,he is very rude ,egoistic and unprofessional.

Negative experience: so basically i’m 14 and this lady told me saying i can’t go downstairs because of my age because there is no one there on duty and i have to go upstairs but i don’t feel comfortable going upstairs and she is like i’m going to cancel your membership like it’s not my fault if there is not a person on duty and if i get hurt i’m responsible for it i’m paying them and i’ve been going for 3 months now and no one told me suddenly this lady told me i can’t go downstairs because of my age.

Positive experience: Really good facilities, mostly clean. The building is kept in good condition. Have not used equipment as I was there for a course. Parking should be free.

Fantastic experience: Boxing lesson's for children with Craig and Craig brilliant they love going

Negative experience: Toilet dirty, no tissue no hand wash everything is broken down nobody fix it customer servicing is very bad. I ring him six times nobody answered the phone.

Positive experience: It's not too bad here. Most of the teachers are fab, but the only 3 things I can fault is that No.1- On numerous occasions I'm witnessing a particular swimming teacher who appears as though she doesnt want to be there. (Not sure whether grade 2 or 3) but she doesn't appear to want to be there, doesn't smile, it's quite off-putting to be honest. She walks up and down, not really focusing on the children, but more focused on the other staff members/teachers. No.2 - The cleanliness of the swimming bath changing rooms, it absolutely stinks of urine & sweat and there's always dirty marks up the cubicle walls and hair on the floor, perhaps a good clean after each class would be good! No.3 - Reception staff, need to smile and show respect to those that come in / need assistance, your on the front desk, face of the company, it makes the leisure centre look really back and unapproachable :( smile please!!!

Positive experience: Clean and tidy, staff pleasant and helpful, only problem we had was the pool being very cold

Negative experience: My kids join the swimming lessons but the staff was not god no guide properly to much waste of my money 98 pounds each 48 pounds

Fantastic experience: Good modern gym, clean pool and changing areas steam room and sauna good too, staff are friendly and helpful and the regulars who use it are too, also love the online booking system, small soft play area too for the little 1 only costs £2 over all good experience since coming.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym, not only as different good equipment but other room for meetings too. We had a meeting organised by pain management and a good size room with tables and chairs, including a projectors. Hope to see the rest of the gym next time!

Negative experience: Very Rude, egotistical weird gym staff, disgusting toilets, disgusting pools and horrible showers with yellow gunk spewing from the floor.

Negative experience: Used pool, changing area was disgusting, smelt and felt like urinal. Dirty nappy in one cubical, filthy shower area. Floor of the pool felt slimy. I won't be going back. Nasty...managers ought to be ashamed of themselves. It is only a matter of time before someone gets really ill from swimming here.

Positive experience: Excellent place for kids to learn swimming. We pay £28 a month each for our daughters to learn how to swim. They get a 30 minute lesson and are in groups and until they get to a certain stage one parents needs to be in the pool with them too. They have a nice small soft play area too which is only open to those who have paid so it is usually not too busy. The changing area is also easy to use and spacious. The reason I can’t give 5 stars is due to the parking. Whilst there are plenty of spaces to only be able to pay via cash and that too with no change given is ridiculous. Please wake up and join the 21st Century and allow us to pay via an app or by card.

Positive experience: Warm learning pool Has a women's only gym section. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer. Swimming lessons from 3 months old. Lots of parking spaces, including a few disabled parking discs. You pay for parking but it gets refunded at the desk.

Fantastic experience: Always take kids here so far very welcoming staff

Positive experience: Don't understand why joining fee is 30£ . Ridiculous considering too many people using the gym . They already charge 1 month in advance so it's like £50 over to join , not worth it. Plenty other gyms around. Much more cheaper .

Negative experience: Joined 1 year ago to train with a PT to get in shape. PT great however the gym is way to busy. You can't get on the machines, if you do get on a machine your asked how long will you be! The demographic of the gym goers are either young school ages kids with no clue what their doing, bunch of over used steroid users who feel they own the gym and like to dominate the weight areas. The gym is messy at the best of times with weights scattered everywhere so you can't seem to find what your looking for. The ladies section is small, not much in their which is disappointing. There seems to be offers on every month which dosent help as the gym is so busy I am considering cancelling and going elsewhere. You can see people sharing their access with others also too! There is nothing unique about this gym other than offers back to back. Seems like management only care about how many users they bring it. I would avoid and join a better gym where it dosent feel you have landed in India!

Negative experience: Ample paid parking available in Car park, a handful of Disabled bays available . I visited early morning so might be very different at peak times. Good clean entrance and reception area although I felt that the extra space behind the turnstiles here could be better used. Having used the facilities ( swimming ) for the first time I am totally bemused by the changing area/ facilities. Who designed this . Ground floor MIXED changing room where all can get changed. Cubicles available but you still are sharing the area with males. I want privacy to change in an ALL FEMALE changing room reassured that I don't have any perverse activity going on in there. It's a NO from me ! Good to see a Ladies only Gym downstairs its small but acceptable. Upstairs there's a mixed Gym with a fair amount of Cardio & Free weights. Otherwise there are various classes available in the other rooms and of course a Swimming pool. Nothing wrong with the Sports facilities and equipment but the Changing rooms are hugely off putting and need re thinking. They have a Ladies only gym so separate male & female changing rooms should've been a basic fixture in any leisure centre.

Negative experience: Bad service and the life guards don’t let us play with the balls

Negative experience: Getting intouch with this places is impossible.....they never answer the phone!!!

Positive experience: I'm not to keen but since I've paid for membership I'll keep going I find the water in the pool really cold it's a fight to book classes people spit in the pool which I find really horrible men wash their bodies like their showing in their own homes which if they want to shower like that they should use the private shower rooms .staff are nice and very helpful classes are good if you can get booked

Positive experience: Regularly visit this leisure centre. Clean and crisp. Car park barely has any spaces and is paid too so lost a star there. Love the facilities the centre offers though.

Negative experience: It has happened many times when the leisure centre is closed or closes down early you never inform by just sending a message or email what is the point of going then seeing that it is closed down just inform us if the time has changed because in the website it always says that it is open when you go its closed.

Negative experience: Been going to this leisure centre for years and they have great facilities for such a good price, but however this is useless when you can’t simply phone up to book because no one answers. I’ve been going for years and can never manage to get anyone on the phone. I understand receptionists are sometimes busy, therefore I call at least 4-5 times but never get an answer. I seriously hope they can sort this issue out cause I can never manage to book anything!!!

Positive experience: Only go there for the pool. But staff are friendly and changing rooms are decent. Only complaint is you can be queuing for a long time to get in during busy periods as Only 2 people on reception.

Positive experience: Nice and clean place staff are great Nice sauna and steam room lovely pools top gym in the region.

Negative experience: Facilities are good. However, the service from staff is disgusting. You have to pay for parking but will be refunded by leisure.

Fantastic experience: Been a member here since it opened. I use the gym and pool mainly but they offer a wide range of classes. Staff are long serving which gives a friendly feel to the place.

Negative experience: Changing room facility for swimming, toilets and showers are filthy. Hair all over the floor and rubbish left in changing rooms. Some hair dryers have been taken out and not replaced and some don't work. Considering this is a relatively new building it's in desperate need of a refurb and an intensive deep clean.

Negative experience: Went to the gym last week and all equipment had been removed for a 4 week refurb. Did not bother notifying members and to take matters worse I have to give 15 days notice to cancel, so I now have to pay for the next month with no access to the gym.

Negative experience: The pool seemed very over chlorinated, me and my daughter both feel a bit ill afterwards. Other swimmers were being very disruptive whilst we were trying to swim and lifeguards just ignored it.

Fantastic experience: Played badminton, £11 for 1 hour. Net set up ready. You can hire racquets if you need. Arrived for 18:00, no queue, quite busy when leaving at 19:00. Didn't explore the whole site, but all looks modern and clean.

Positive experience: First time at the leisure centre today. As well as gym, swimming pool. They have an indoor soft play area and party room

Positive experience: Good for fitness and fun. Easy accessibility. Near to westbromwich bus station.

Negative experience: Had a membership for ages. Always told the sauna and steam room was full or booked but in reality there were few people actually using it. Clearly the system is poorly thought out and I have now joined another leisure centre. Thanks for taking my Money and not giving me everything I was paying for.

Positive experience: Hey as i was there for a couple of time in the Swimmingpool-Center with my kiddies so Overall i can Tell my side of the Swimming. It got 2 Pools 1 Small & 1 Big so Overall it is a small Place compared to what i have seen. On the 30.7 around 16.00 Clock my lil daughter had an Incident in the small pool and i wanna do an shoutout for the lifeguard Service cause they was there in NoTime and has helped my daughter i wanna mention on that time a girl was the lifeguard and she has helped and provide every help to my daughter. So one thing i could say if you leave Ur small kids for a short time unattend you will know they are in safe hands. At last i wanna thank all the serviceworkers & lifeguards for they're work cause anything could happen im a second. 3Stars is because the place is small 5Stars for the Lifeguard (on that day the Lifeguard-Girl did an amazing job)

Fantastic experience: I went to accompany my daughter so it was quite pleasant met some very nice people mainly in the Zumba class

Positive experience: Took the kids swimming, easy and affordable. The car park is pay and display but coins only, no app. However you can get a refund from inside the leisure centre if you are using the car park to visit there. Also the walk to the pool from the changing rooms is very wet and slippy.

Fantastic experience: very helpful staff clean facilities responsible price's

Negative experience: I took my daughter here for 3 swimming lessons and was very disappointed.I believe the young instructor was called Milly and she clearly didnt want to be there and had very bad attitude. She basically had my daughter swim back and forwards with a float in front of her without interacting with her and with very little direction or teaching involved. She kept rolling her eyes if my daughter did something wrong and made no effort to build rapport with her. I’ve cancelled my Direct Debit and won’t be going back and I’d advise anyone who wants to take their kids for swimming lessons to avoid this place like the plague. You might as well teach your kids yourself. Very poor. Zero stars.

Negative experience: Took my grandchildren to soft play today but had to leave about 25mins later due to the place being over run with big kids, at least 15yrs old. I thought the age limit was 12, we won't be back

Negative experience: Although it has nice and clean facilities the management is very bad at customer relations. Doesn’t care what you think or feel and brave enough to say that.

Negative experience: Absolute rubbish. The temperature of the water cold. Dirty changing rooms. Stinking shower areas. When trying to cancel the membership, they will make excuse and try to prolong as much as they can. Common reasons include we do not handle the membership here, we do not manage direct debit here, please call the number (which no one picks up) send an email (which bounces back and no one responds) when put a complaint, the person says, I understand what you mean so sorry about this and the usual corporate rubbish from the script they ve been given. This centre is a plague and needs their funding withdrawn. A black mark on West Brom.

Fantastic experience: Great community hub that has a gym & swimming pool, sauna too. They had a coffee shop but now they sell it behind the counter at the front desk. Prices are good too. Something for everyone & you can get a guides tour before you join.

Fantastic experience: Love swimming at West brom pool I've joined now & now swim 5 or 6 days a week now got private showers or open showers both near the pools I've now got full membership swim gym steam sauna so can swim & go gym after great showers in at the gym & Sarah very helpful now on all the weights machines love going swimming & gym I have lifted 50kg on row leg extension

Positive experience: Overall. The leisure centre is a good local place to exercise. They have 2 large swimming pools with both shallow and deep ends. The staff there are friendly. I haven't tried the gym so I can't say anything about it. But the swimming was great.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 leisure center, the teachers and the lifeguards on stand are extremely helpful and helped teach my child how to swim in loads of different techniques - Sam and Louis W helped loads and I recommend the center to everyone!

Negative experience: They have ruined the experience of going to a swimming pool, you have to book a time slot to use the pool! Also, the steam/sauna have to be booked online! Tell me how are elderly people supposed to book online when they hardly have a smart phone. They really haven't thought this through.

Positive experience: Great leisure centre with something for everyone! With a functional gym, separate spin room, multiple studio's used for a great range of classes, which you won't get at other gyms (taekwondo, etc), including your well known and loved classes such as Body Combat, Body Pump, Stretch and Define, Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, Zumba etc. Two pools, not one! This was a pleasant surprise, one standard typical pool for everyone and advanced swimmers and one for beginners, where the VERY popular Aqua Fit classes take place! This pool also offers ladies only sessions if you want privacy swimming as a female. I think this leisure centre is a great addition to West Bromwich and a great place to encourage people to be physically active and have fun at the same time. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the showers / changing rooms are very basic and could do with some improvement. Also the changing area by the pools is unisex which is not my favourite feature but it does have cubicles to allow some privacy. Overall, a great place to train with a lovely atmosphere!

Fantastic experience: Went swimming for the first time since I was at school and it has definitely changed! The changing room facilities are excellent with personal cubicles to get dressed/undressed in, a showering area before and after you go in the pool and places to leave sliders and towel before getting in the pool. The water could do with being slightly warmer, but it made the shower after even nicer!

Positive experience: Wonderful location to get to phone call gave enough information to know what to expect. Leisure centre did not disappoint price range.yougotwhat you paid for..ok

Negative experience: If you’re trying to find somewhere that’s women’s only hours just bare in mind that there will be male lifeguards as well. When we called up they notified us that there would only be female staff for the ladies only times but when we got there, there was a male lifeguard. Just bare this in mind if you plan on going

Positive experience: The staff are very kind when I came here to go swimming and gym however when I was trying to call them to see what time it closes in bank holiday they would not answer and I called them back after 15 minutes and still would not answer my calls

Fantastic experience: Went for a free 5 day trial and used the sauna and swimming and a Pilates class. I really enjoyed it. The staff were really helpful.

Positive experience: Loved it! Taking swimming lessons very friendly staff and pool area is very clean to. The only downside is the changing rooms are slightly dirty, hence 4* other than that everything is brilliant.

Positive experience: lanky blonde guy was really weird. went on a saturday with my nan, and he was really tryna chat her up. shes a bit senile, so im not sure if this is true but apparently he asked her to 'hold his wood'. apart from that, great centre.

Positive experience: Everything is really good - pool, play gym. Staff nice and very clean. One problem, sharing changing rooms with both genders isn't to my liking. I don't agree with this sort of thing (even though I kmow it's common)

Positive experience: The pool is nice ans clean and warm which is exactly what you need, have to use coins for parking, only annoying thing and coins for the lockers. Card is the only thing majority of people carry these days

Fantastic experience: Swimming pools and courts and new and up to date. Changing room and lockers are secure, they have activities for many different people. Will continue to go to this place. Haven't use gym yet
