Fantastic experience: Really good gym and classes. All of the instructors are really friendly and supportive and the gym has a wonderful community feel. Katie's Sweat 45 class and Steve's step class are really enjoyable. Would highly reccomend.

Positive experience: A great selection of machines and equipment, since leaving my old gym for this one, I've upped my days and lost weight already in just 2 weeks as I enjoyed it so much. Could do with some tvs maybe and a bit more atmosphere, but overall v good!

Fantastic experience: Always good. The air conditioning could perhaps have been a little cooler on such a hot day. Mind you, that's the same in every PureGym at the moment. To add to this. Given that this review was in the height of summer. Now that it's winter, we seem to have swung in the opposite direction with the temperature. It's now freezing on every visit. It's hard to warm up when it's quite so cold. I firmly believe this is a PureGym money saving exercise. Try not to waste money on the air-con in the summer and don't spend money on the heating in the winter. I visit lots of PureGym locations as I work all over the country. They all seem to be the same now.

Fantastic experience: Great equipment as per all other pure gyms, slightly smaller than most locations I've been to but not too busy and I had no issues waiting for equipment.

Positive experience: Needs more equipment. They have a lot of space. But it seems to be reserved for classes. There is no real equipment for arms. Just cable machines more than anything. I use this gym when my normal gyms is closed on the weekends, at night. I'd be happy to be a full-time member if they just had more equipment. It's an OK gym for the average gym goer.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Pure Gym at Heanor to anyone. I just do the classes and there’s plenty to choose from. Staff are brilliant. I do a lot of Ben’s classes and he’s always enthusiastic and keeps you motivated. I do Molly’s pump class too on a Wednesday which is really good. Monthly membership is very reasonable and offer blue light discount.

The gym itself is always clean, tidy and has a great range of training equipment. I’ve made friendships from the community at Heanor as it is full of lovely members! Keep it up PureGym Heanor! :)

Fantastic experience: Can only give positive feedback, even when upstairs was closed ( no fault of the staff) members were kept informed, access to other gyms were available and extra classes put on Sunday mornings also. Staff always friendly and helpful, for me I can’t fault the gym

Fantastic experience: One of the best pure gyms around really friendly atmosphere great bunch of staff and members alike a good range of machinery and space to get fit and enjoy highly recommend if your looking for a smaller local gym really has everything you need and more and really welcoming for those who are new to the gym

Negative experience: Don't waste your time. Been garage gyms bigger than this. Top floor not even open. Not told on website. Hardly any equipment. Waste of time.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, great staff! Love it there, they’re all so friendly and kind, very inspiring and have helped me loads with my fitness journey! The gym has everything you need to get the results you want! Classes are amazing, the managers are awesome and so so friendly. I fell so welcome at PureGym, everyone’s made me feel welcome. They’ve got a great community and I couldn’t be more happy to be a member at that gym. Nothing bad about the gym at all, it’s doing great and the managers are doing amazing to keep it running

Fantastic experience: Great little gym....Great staff too

Positive experience: The gym itself is pretty good for all experience levels but especially good for beginners and intermediate gym goers. They have everything I need for cardio and weight training, regular classes and vending machines on site with drinks and protein bars. However... I've given 4 stars for the lack of adequate shower facilities. There are only 2 showers, one of which is a very large accessible shower room which is top notch with a great twin head, lots of room and is kept very clean... but being an accessible shower I feel guilty using it unless the gym is pretty much empty. The other is a smelly, cramped, cold, cupboard sized unit with a shower you have to constantly press every 20 seconds to keep the water running. It has a leaky shower door so the floor ends up covered in water and a wobbly bench that almost tips over every time you so much as breath on it. It's no wonder it stinks in there as it obviously doesn't get cleaned often, the same patch of mud was on the floor for 6 days straight a couple of weeks ago and it's common to find the plug hole completely full of hair. This is a gym, granted a cheap gym to attend, but people still need to clean themselves after a workout and this gross little shower unit really isn't good enough.

Fantastic experience: Went to my first step class to do. Found it really enjoyable and molly the instructor was great.

Fantastic experience: Been a member here since it opened earlier this year and feel my confidence has grown so much thanks to the staff here. They are all so helpful whether that be in the classes or when you see them in the gym. I haven’t been a member in a gym prior to this but after losing over 3and half stone in 2019 and managing to keep it off, I wanted to try loosing a little more and tone up. Not having much experience of the machines was soon sorted with the get started sessions they run and since then I have had the confidence to workout alone which is something I never thought I would do. I have made friends with some people whilst at the gym which has been great as I was worried I wouldn’t feel included but everyone is so friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better group of instructors and managers as well as some lovely members I have met there too. Can’t recommend the place enough

Positive experience: It's a nice gym but trainers do have a habit of taking up half the gym for their clients. Also the air conditioning doesn't seem to work so it's very hot.

Positive experience: This the most expensive PureGym I've been a member of, and also the smallest which means I'm paying more for access to less equipment and less floor space. That said, it's also friendly and not too intimidating as some PureGyms are.

Negative experience: A few treadmills, three weight benches and one shower is simply not good enough. Always a wait to get on with the session. Surprised PureGym attached its name to such a small location. Joined up for a month but luckily is contract free so will be cancelling right away

Positive experience: Desperately need more free weight benches. Always queueing to use them. 1 shower is a let down. Good space to do your own circuits though if classes aren't on downstairs. Also their air con is never on, its like the carribean inside that gym, an absoloute sweat box.

Positive experience: Does the job. Nice compact kit. Air con never appears to be on (like a sweat box) and could do with cleaning stations for kit. No hand towels or sanitising spray etc. Worth the money though. Updated review : Having been here for 2 months now, I love the atmosphere and particularly the classes. Molly and Jess are quality and bring a great energy and enthusiasm to the gym. The 30 hour cycle challenge was crazy, but a worthwhile cause for charity. Well done!

Negative experience: Disappointing all round lack of machines. Squat rack on spongy carpet makes it unsafe to squat safely heavy. Two deadlift platforms however the plates bounce on the carpets never good for heavy deadlifts. Bumper plates are covered in plastic. Heating in gym was to high. Dumbbells only go to 40kg. Overall a cheap gym and it's not even cheap membership.

Negative experience: Poor gym with not enough equipment No bicep or tricep machine just not enough variety of equipment disappointed

Positive experience: Pretty decent gym with all-new equipment. However, one shower for the gym isn't very generous

Positive experience: It’s good to finally have a Pure Gym in the area but I was a bit disappointed/surprised by the lack of machines. There’s two big open areas for classes (one on the lower level and one upstairs) one of which was unused when I was there. Is one area for classes not enough? Other worry is the showers. Only one? I wanted to use this gym before heading to work in the mornings but can’t risk queues for a singular shower and being late so will have to come on the way home instead when it’s probably busier. All in all it’s decent, it’s not a bad gym by any means but compared to a couple of the other Pure Gyms I’ve been in it falls short of what I was expecting to see.

Positive experience: A smaller (no big separate studio or such) but perfectly kitted out gym. Having the resistance machines mainly in stairs away from the dumbbells and benched makes this a more comfortable setting for less advanced weight lifters. Several unisex toilets and a private shower plus changing cubicles and ample lockers. Good location with parking outside in retail park.
