Fantastic experience: Great place to work our really good gym swimming is always busy with lessons but the lessons are really good for the children highly recommend

Positive experience: Facilities are great. Swimming pool is fantastic but it’s rarely available. It has a decent gym and rooms for clases. It gets packed around 5-6:30

Positive experience: I swim there a lot and whilst it’s clean, I have found 2 ear rings over the last few weeks,… the hard way having stepped onto the pointy bit

Negative experience: Very poor communication. I rang and asked about the family swim - and if i had to book - they told me on the phone no I didn’t have to book, and that I could just walk in for family swim. So I did this with two very excited children, to be turned away by a very rude blonde lady saying they are fully booked. I would avoid.

Fantastic experience: Not massive, but both the pool and gym are great with very modern equipment and friendly staff. Parking is ok (never had an issue).

Negative experience: How is this pool rated 4.1. I wasn't clean. The pool wasn't clean. The things I saw in that swimming pool. . . . . Changing rooms: it was actually smelling like pee. I went into another cubical( thinking that someone had an accident), the smell was the same . . .. . This is not their fault . . . . .it's ours, the consumers. Had we told them about this, they would have acted on it . . . . . I am putting 2 stars because I don't see any good in having this facility closed up. If you take the time to give a review, tell it how it is. Otherwise, you don't help anybody Need to go . . . . . need to take a bath in sanitizer . . . . . .

Negative experience: The gym in the leisure centre is bad as you can't use cable machines unless your over 16 which Is just disgraceful otherwise everything is good

Fantastic experience: Great place to come and swim with kids. Lots of changing rooms and plenty of family changing rooms that are spacious. Showers are a good temp. The baby pool is a good size and depth as well.

Fantastic experience: Compared to the disperate diaspora and furious speeds of the leisure Rim, it's a joy to find oneself at the hub of all relaxation. The leisure Center. Right here in the humble surrounds of Longwell Green. It's said that during the equinox one can balance an egg on its end such is the paradoxical effect to the intense leisure field that permeates this magical and spiritual place. But I've never seen it done live. Only online, but then again. Why would they lie?

Negative experience: Nice enough leisure centre and friendly staff. Unfortunately, their direct debit company DFC are absolute horrors to work with. Twice I have used Active Lifestyles leisure centre memberships. Both times have I been chased and harassed for money from DFC for months that I had cancelled for, did not need, and was not even in the vicinity of the centre. Do not sign up with these monsters if you can at all help it. Attend any other gym or pool. DFC have ruined what could be a good chain by their horrendous payment policies and total inability to listen to good sense. If I sound furious, it is because I am. Honestly, just sign up elsewhere. It is not worth it.

Fantastic experience: I had a membership problem that I needed help with, the staff and manager were so helpful and kind to me. I can't thank them enough.

Positive experience: Busy little leisure centre for a highly populated area. Pool is clean and most facilities are there. Staff are friendly and helpful. The accessible parking has just been returned to the 6 bays it had (2 have been taken for EV charging but they rarely get used). People with children in booster seats can't access the tiny regular bays so too often use the blue badge spaces. They need more large spaces although there's plenty of parking spaces nearby.

Negative experience: Ridiculous system at the gym entrance, no reception so no way you use the Active app and QR code. They usually understand this and open the gym doors easily. Not today reception quizzing me on my name and membership details?! Ridiculous and bad service quite honestly should not have to jump through hoops just to enter the gym! Update your gym entry systems! All other centres allow you to enter with Active app 's QR code.

Fantastic experience: Amazing pool, great staff and friendly like-minded pool goers. Affordable membership, decent lockers and changing rooms. Update: Still great, been swimming 5 days a week, lost 10lbs now 190lbs!

Positive experience: Used the kids pool, they had floats etc out which was nice.

Negative experience: Had a toddler swimming session booked for over a week. Get here to be told the pool is closed.

Negative experience: I got contract here i annulled because when I email them i was sick they don't freeze my debit account and i pay 2 months even I'm not going in the gym cuz I'm sick.

Positive experience: It was amazing we went to the pool beach party with my mum and sister and my friend and we had a great time with the floats and ball will 100% come again

Fantastic experience: Great swimming experience for little ones that won't break the bank.

Positive experience: Pretty good centre, good range of facilities especially for the smaller of the Active centres. Good range of people using the gym, you tend to get people that are there to workout rather than the youngsters that go to hang around which is good. The only deduction is that because they have limited equipment in the gym sometimes you don’t get a look in on the machine you want, and also the gym lessons tend to be les mills virtual classes, with only a few instructor led classes which is a shame.

Positive experience: Hi, just visiting for mothets day, ben and Jerry's,,, had 4 teenage boys so idealfor them, place was packed, a lot of small people !! Table to small for 8, over an hour for food! Pasta and burgers was themain meal, i had salmon mash and broccoli,, the food was delicious front of house was not!!!

Positive experience: Took my 16 month old little boy for a swim here. Could only book the main pool, but assumed this would be fine as I'd be holding him anyway. Family swim sessions were running for most of Saturday afternoon so the car park was busy when we arrived and the changing rooms were absolute carnage. If I'd needed a changing table to get my son ready it seemed as though we'd have a long wait. Changing rooms although busy were clean and the showers were warm. Before getting in the pool I asked a lifeguard if we'd be able to go in the learner pool at all, but he said if we'd booked the main pool we'd have to stay in the main pool. The water in the main pool was cold and more suited to competitive swimming than family swimming. As a first time user I didn't know this, and I feel like it is something you should be warned of when booking a space for a baby or toddler in the main pool, which would be easy for them to add to their booking website. We only managed 20 minutes before my sons lips and hands were turning blue. Overall, not at all suitable for what I wanted this time, and I definitely wouldn't take a small child to the main pool.

Negative experience: I can't comment on the other facilities but the swimming pool provision is shocking! Life guards very very young and inexperienced/ untrained in dealing with children, incredibly rude, duty manager very incompetent and admitted that the rules are changeable depending on the life guard on duty and whether they "are comfortable to let children dive in the deep end" so sometimes they can and sometimes they can't. A regulator's inspection would have a field day with this. Changing rooms and lockers filthy and the pool cold (it stated 28 deg on the wall but everybody thought it was far from it) I got a refund for our visit as we only stayed 10 minutes in the water before we were told off for going in the deep end, my children can swim a length and are confident divers but a 17 year old blond girl life guard requested to test them swimming (eventhough I explained that they have been swimming there for 3 months with their dad doing exactly the same) after which they got upset for being picked on and didn't want to continue the session. Horrible experience which ruined our day!

Negative experience: Good Gym, except there was a staff member very rude to us saying "I don't believe you are 16" and asked me for my birth certificate and told us to stop using the cable machine.

Positive experience: Could do with a good clean. The cubicle smelt very strong of urine. Girl on the desk was very friendly.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good feedback. From my first telephone call to in-person experience, I have found the staff to be consistently professional, friendly and helpful. It is noticed and appreciated! I only use the pool but the changing rooms are clean and the pool well-managed with lane swimming properly organised. Thank you to all the staff who make using the centre a pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: Good place fathers no have really good times their children

Negative experience: The water in the swimming pool (at lest during the afternoon/evening lane swimming sessions) isn't clean at all. I saw parts of someones biking laying on the bottom of the pool, some dirt and hair, pretty disgusting – it was cleaner, when the stricter Covid restrictions were still in place and I wonder why they seem not to care at all now...

Negative experience: New in the area and after attempting to make an enquiry about swimming at the pool with a child on a weekday without lanes.Before the 'lady' hung up on me (!) the she was evasive obsequious and awkward. Utter discredit to local services.

Positive experience: Vast amount of facilities (restaurants) and entertainment. Saw a film at vue. Was busy but as pre booked abke to swiftly get in. Toilets messy and missing toilet roll from 2 out of 3 cubicles. Standards must be better.

Positive experience: Great facilities but I am a member and the website / app still asks me to pay. They said ring to sort it out but every time I call nobody answers, each time I've given up after 20 minutes on hold.

Fantastic experience: Exceptionally clean leisure centre. We swim twice a week, the pool, poolside and changing rooms are always well maintained and serviced and in pristine order. When walking barefoot, it's always preferred to have a clean walkway. Polite and friendly staff, from the kind & helpful receptionists, the lovely lifeguards, to the wonderful cleaners. We cannot fault this centre one bit. As a disabled woman with restricted mobility, the poolside steps with handrail into the main pool are a godsend. Our 45 minute lane swimming sessions are easy too book online, and takes my husband minutes to complete. The whole site is totally accessible to disabled people like myself, where it is all on the one level. The gym has permanent ramp access. There is plenty of parking out the front with disabled parking and even an electric car charging point and spaces for them. The internal site has clear floor markings, keeping social distancing measures at the forefront of our minds at each visit. We have another active leisure centre around a mile closer to where we live, but by choice we choose to visit the longwell green branch because of all of the above. We are monthly fee members and enjoy all the perks and benefits from this. There are plenty of different timed sessions available that will fit the majority of people's schedules throughout each day. We choose to swim mid morning mostly, but there is lane swimming on the timetable up until and including the evening and weekends. Overall, there is nothing we can fault with Longwell green leisure centre, it is our preferred *Active* site in Bristol, and we will continue to use it weekly because of how great it is.

Positive experience: There is nothing like going to the cinema ️ to see your top film. The Longwell green Vue complex is a very good place to go. Tho we booked our tickets online. It's better than queing up when you get there. There are self service checking in tills. Now the down fall to this venue is leaving. You can que for ages just go get back on the ring road!

Negative experience: A little under 2 years ago my daughter, 3 at the time, nearly drowned here. During a standard swimming lesson, 4 children to a tutor, the tutor was unobservant to where the group of toddlers were and managed to let the child walk behind her while doing the register. Activities such as the register, where a tutors attention leaves the children usually happens outside the pool at other venues. The child was then underwater. After much shouting, the tutor finally realised that there was a missing child and picked her out of the water. The lifeguard lacklusterly walked over and upon a 2 second visual inspection deemed the child to be OK to continue. Upon complaining that it took 12 seconds before the tutor noticed and picked up the child - which only because of the commotion made from the many viewing parents. The leisure centre find it acceptable for a child to be underwater for up-to 30 seconds. Only after 30 seconds would it have been negligent - the government concede that drowning in under 5-s can happen in approximately 20 seconds. The leisure centre confirmed that they meet the minimum guidelines offered by HSE and were totally satisfied with the basic effort. A lot of other swimming pools talk about how they have more than the minimum number of lifeguards available. The life guard spent much of his time looking into the larger pool and at the ceiling and floor. I would never return here and would advise anybody who is thinking of using this pool not to - especially with children.

Fantastic experience: Amazing for price compared to odeon. £7.50 for a VIP seat, they also accept meerkat movie deals for a buy one get one free ticket purchase.

Negative experience: Can’t book online through either website or app. It defaults to 1 adult and 2 children. Even after changing it to 2 adults when you progress to payment it reverts to 1 adult and 2 children and adjusts the price accordingly.

Positive experience: Good pool, changing rooms need renewal and frequent cancellation of kids swimming classes. Lovely reception staff

Fantastic experience: Visited Vue to see 1917 film and Frankie n Benny's fir a great mill. Excellent service and Will looked after us.

Negative experience: Altered men’s changing rooms - No vanity unit now (hair drier / shelf etc). Only three showers and a tiny mirror. Also only eight lockers means your changing bag has to be secured away in a public area 30 yards away. Used to cater for everyone’s needs but just seems like revenue driven change to allow them to cram in more members.

Positive experience: Went to the cinema complex good price for seats, however food drink and sweet prices were outrageous, now I know why people sneek there own snacks in

Positive experience: Good arcade and pool tables that are a bit worn but still decent. Bear in mind it is a bit crowded, not too much usually but you may have to wait for the pool tables.

Positive experience: The pools themselves are great, the kids pool is nice and shallow and I felt safe to let my little one play. However the showers are always freezing and the changing rooms could really be better maintained and cleaned.

Fantastic experience: Very clean changing rooms. The leisure centre should be very proud of this achievement. I've visited other centres. Longwell Green always comes out top in my opinion. Great 25m swimming pool with added feature of a window at pool level, Probably half a metre high. Wonderful if doing an early morning swim as you get to see the sunrise Really good TechnoGym equipment. Well set out gym. Plenty of space. Very helpful members of staff especially 'Serena'. Having a membership is definitely worth getting. All in all a very good experience on every visit. I'd give this leisure centre 10 stars ⭐ if I could.

Negative experience: Swimming lessons are a mess. They pump more and more kids into their system then when it's time to move up there is no space. Public swimming is very limited and more than often only has 2 lanes for public.

Fantastic experience: Being very diligent about cleanliness and controlling numbers. Some problems with new app due to demand but on line booking generally good.

Negative experience: Vue cinema, for some reason this cinema keeps leaving the over head lights on during the main feature, I am finding the experience of watching a film on the big screen reduced, what I mean is, if you we trying to to a photo of something with the Sun shining in the direction of your camera, you will have a poor picture and this is how it feels to me trying to watch the film : (

Fantastic experience: Lots of restaurants, bowling and cinema. Free parking structure. Disabled access. Great location.

Positive experience: It's a decent enough place. Clean, and busy. There's not much info on their website but swimming is in hour slots, Sunday's for swimming it fills up quick and you can get tickets earlier in the day for the most popular times (14:30). Small pool is approx 31 degrees and is very shallow, perfect for taking our little girl.

Positive experience: Depending on when you go can be quite nice to visit, staff however are very rude, the staff around the pool constantly mess about and while I was here with family one child fell in, staff didn't even notice until another swimmer helped the child - thankfully the child was ok. This company employ very young people who don't really want to be there by the state of their attitude to work.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for years right up until I moved to Cardiff! Today I came back to Bristol to visit, met some friends here for some pool. It looks like things have been revamped and refurbished. Fantastic place just wish this was in Cardiff
