Fantastic experience: Very convenient gym. There is decent range of equipment and are well maintained. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Love the atmosphere. Its also surrounded by car parks and the gym helps you with free parking after 4 pm.

Negative experience: Leaving the gym on bad terms, due to a quick change in my own circumstances (moving away a great distance at short notice) I’ve had to cancel my membership. The club have been unreasonable and will not discuss anything outside the agreement terms despite myself being a member for over 3 years. In addition during Covid when the gym was closed for several months the management wrote personal letters to members asking them to continue paying during these months or risk the gym going out of business. I continued to pay throughout this period and now I’m being threatened with debt collection over a measly £30. Wouldn’t recommend - the gym is in need or refurb, it’s not changed since 2017 and the toilets/showers are grotty.

Fantastic experience: I was honestly a bit anxious about starting at the gym, especially with the extra weight I'd gained recently. This gym was a game-changer for me. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported by the trainers. They were super approachable and gave me all the advice I needed to start getting healthier and shedding those pounds. The atmosphere at this gym is just awesome. Everyone there is so friendly and genuinely wants to see you succeed. And you know what? I've already started seeing some progress! It might not be huge yet, but it's definitely a step in the right direction, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to join this gym.

Fantastic experience: Postpartum I have returned to the world of fitness and hands down this gym is by far one of the best I have attended in the past 6-7 years. There is a nice blend of equiptment of which is always clean and the gym tidy on a whole. I have not had any access issues neither, which is amazing! The club is consistently clean and presentable, The staff are always well presented, well mannered and accommodating, honestly overall just lovely humans. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I am smashing my fitness goals out of the park due to the ever welcoming and accommodating atmosphere of this club. Negative experience: Horrible gym Will not let you cancel membership, disable key fob but still expect you to pay and pay for what? Pay for something that you cant step foot in? I am not signing another contract for you to add more time on when I don't even go to your gym anymore and can't even access it Never ever sign a contract with anytime fitness - You have been warned Dacorum sports centre is much better, bigger gym, better equipped and better equipment and use of the whole centre and the best thing is your not stuck in a contract where the only things that matter to them is to extract as much money out of you as possible

Fantastic experience: The friendliest gym in Hemel Hempstead! I moved here a few months ago when my beloved gym closed down. I didn't think I would find another gym with such a tight knit, professional, friendly community but I didn't bank on Dan and his awesome team at Anytime. The gym is pristine, well equipped, light and airy, with fantastic views over the water gardens. The classes are varied and run by highly experienced trainers. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and this means the vibe of the whole place is just lovely. I cannot recommend Anytime Hemel enough.

Fantastic experience: Have everything you need. Has a fantastic room downstairs where you can do all types of online classes. As a 24hr gym it does not get overly busy which is what I like. Great atmosphere, helpful staff on hand Monday to Friday. recommend. Xx

Negative experience: Needed the gym for 1 month, was sold a longer membership being told I could cancel. Tried to cancel in person on a Sunday but no one was in the office so left my fob and sent an email. I had no response so sent further emails and tried to call on a weekday during work hours. No response. After 3 weeks they finally cancelled my membership and told me I would have to give 30 days notice (dated from the time of their email, not my initial email 4 weeks earlier). It was in the terms and conditions I was sent. But this was never mentioned in the long 'up-sell' conversation I had when signing up (it's quite an important bit of information). I was specific about the time I needed so could have formally put in my notice to cancel then. I also had a late-paying fee added to my account. They have behaved like you hear gyms behave when you try to cancel. All for £25. I won't be going back. Review: Gym facilities are ok.

Negative experience: In 2020 I was a member of this gym, I ended up sectioned in a hospital for months, earning no money and I personally was not allowed to use my phone. During this time, because I was unable to pay for my gym membership, anytime fitness passed my details on to debt collectors. I was completely unaware of this unil about a year later when a large sum of money was being demanded from me. I find this absolutely shocking and baffling, this was something out of my control and surely the gym staff must have known something was up when they were unable to get ahold of me? To anyone that is thinking of joining this gym please think twice about it. There are so many other gyms in this area that do not require you to sign a contract. If you sign a contract with this gym and god forbid something bad happens to you, expect debt collectors to come your way :)

Negative experience: Went to use the gym and the machines are dirty with sweat stains staff sitting around ,paper towels not available

Positive experience: Not my usual AF gym so I don’t come here often but I hated the weights section. The entrance takes up a very large section of the gym leaving limited usable space so the equipment is crowded. The vast majority of weights are a weird shape which don’t roll so makes hip thrusts and deadlifts really difficult and off putting. There is one small set of round weights but that’s it. Honestly the only time I’ve been in a worse mood after a workout than before.

Fantastic experience: Can’t fault them. I’d give them six stars if I could. I was a member ages ago, but left when a gym opened up down the road. Huge mistake, you really don’t appreciate something until it’s gone! I quit the other gym within one month of joining, and signed straight back up with the Anytime branch in Hemel which is just so much better in my honest opinion. Not only do you get a great gym atmosphere with the membership, but you also get motivating and friendly staff - and it’s not overpopulated either. You genuinely feel like you’re part of a community and valued as a member at this gym. It’s worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant. The staff are lovely and so motivating, and really give you the confidence to feel like you can do and achieve anything. Had my first (for a while) PT session with Esther yesterday and today my muscles are feeling it! Can't wait to go back and start my weight loss journey! Richard is a great motivator and very supportive with any confidence issues and my anxiety levels are down even stepping into the gym now ✌

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this gym for several years and the difference with the new owners and managements is massive. They are doing everything they can to make as many improvements as possible which is especially difficult with the current situation. The staff are friendly and helpful and are always willing to chat to members. Not being able to go the gym at lunchtimes is the only thing I miss about working from the office!

Fantastic experience: Without hesitation I would recommend Anytime Fitness in Hemel Hempstead to anyone who is serious about training and getting themselves fit.I have been a member for many years.The staff and management are excellent and extremely professional and helpful. They are always striving to find ways to make it the best possible experience. You can stop and have a chat at anytime. They offer years of training experience and are always ready to offer their support as well as bespoke individual sessions with you at your convenience. The equipment is excellent and there is plenty of space to move about. The whole room is divided into the 3 training areas and each area is equipped with sanitising wipes and gel. The facilities are always kept clean and comprise of 4 shower and changing rooms which includes one for disabled users. This club definitely ticks all the boxes and stands out amongst its competitors.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been with Anytime Fitness for a few years now and recently re-joined after the lock-down. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Gym is very well organised and following anti-covid measures: I feel totally safe. Machines are great and bathrooms and showers extremely clean.

Fantastic experience: I joined the gym just before the transition period of new ownership. It was frustrating! Once joining the gym, with the administration help from the Luton branch, I enjoyed the large range equipment including free weights, mat areas and battle ropes. Very similar to premium gym offerings at a very effective cost. The new direction under Richards eye will ensure that although I cannot return to the gym due to the pandemic, it would be the first choice of gyms to return to.

Fantastic experience: I joined anytime recently after the lockdown ban for gyms had been lifted. I was very torn between which gym to go to, due to prices, distancing and equipment. As soon as I spoke to their new receptionist Hannah, I knew this was the gym for me!! She was so lovely and helpful and explained all the amazing things anytime brings as a gym. the staff are so lovely and welcoming and I want to say a personal thank you to Hannah for being so very lovely to me!! I would recommend this gym to everyone!! Amazing stuff

Positive experience: Gym is ok. Gets crowded easily at peak times. It's always bloody boiling in here, could do with the AC being turned down a bit so it's cooler. Staff could wipe down machines a bit more, the handles and screens always seem greasy and horrible.

Fantastic experience: this gym has been turned around by the new management. its now a place i love going to. staff are great, PT's are awesome. machines are fab! the changing rooms are great, everything is always clean tidy. members are looked after. the places is always buzzing, always something going on, if you want to get involved. 10/10 recommend

Positive experience: Rewriting review after receiving a reply from anytime fitness. Just spoken to a lady over the phone and she said she had been trying to contact since April and apologised. Friendly and professional. All resolved.

Negative experience: Booked an initial meeting with a friend this afternoon. I personally found the staff unprofession and obnoxious. The appointed member of staff was too busy to show us round , he had forgotten and acted very arrogantly saying he was busy elsewhere. We were met by two other members of staff who focused entirely on my friend, barely raising eye contact with me, even though the appointment was for me too. The only time they spoke to me was when they asked if I was joining. They were obviously jist interested in the money. No way was I joining after that performance. First impressions are everything. If they can't get that right then I won't be lining their pockets with my money. The gym is medium sized but really doesnt Warrent £35 a month..nothing special about it. Other gyms have far more facilities for the price. Our appointment was 1pm today.. The gym was empty. That's not a good sign for a town centre gym . My advice is .. give this gym and its arrogant staff a wide birth.

Negative experience: After years at the gym, I can tell you the stuff are absolute rubbish. Today in the middle of the session, one of the new staff come marching up demand to see my tags and then accuse me I should not be there just because these dumb staff lost my record that belong to my tag. The manager I presume said she is tasked to audit. What great customer service could have ask me when I first step in or wait until I have finished my session oh no have to harass me the middle of my session on the gym floor set out to humiliate the paying customer. And don't get me started on the bathroom moulds everywhere, drain block half the time water come up to ankle deep. It is one of the wrost gym I ever joined if it is not because it is so close to work so I can get a workout in during the day would have never joined.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly place, well equipped, all facilities available, including private bathrooms and changing rooms.

Negative experience: You have to pay through the nose to park to use the gym. No staff are helpful considering it says on the website that parking is free? False advertising no? The toilets are always filthy.. staffed or unstaffed hours don't bother showering as it's disgusting. The shower in the disabled toilet has been broken for months. It's like showering in a super powered amount of hail. Despite sending emails for about 4 months about this, nothing has been done. I've even called a few times at the state of the place and I'm not one of those fussy picky people that bothers with that usually. No response, no remorse, no explanation, nothing changes. Further to this everyone appears to pay a totally non uniform amount dependent on what targets had to be hit at the time probably. Avoid!

Fantastic experience: Having used Anytime Hemel for a number of years, I have always been impressed with the facility, especially after it was recently refurbished and updated with the welcome addition of even more equipment. It is a clean and friendly gym and Andrew - the manager - does an excellent job overseeing the operation.
