Fantastic experience: Great staff. Well maintained and good atmosphere

Negative experience: 2 years ago this gym specifically the sauna was clean. Now it is disgusting! Displaying signs that nobody cleans it (cracks in wood clogged up with dirt which would not be there if it was cleaned) So, you are effectively sitting on dirt! Further, it smells horrendously bad and there was an inch of water giant puddle on the floor. I had to get the broom myself to push the water out as this is another disgusting sign that nobody cleans and maintains the sauna as they should. Dirty water and uncleaned wood is unacceptable and wouldn’t take long to resolve!

Negative experience: 30kg and 32kg dumbells are missing since August, and when i asked staff they said that the dumbells “are broken” which makes no sense at all. Its been a few months and its shocking that a gym with so many locations cant replace a dumbell ‍♂️

Negative experience: Changing rooms dirty, a lot of rubbish on the floor, toilet paper on the floor in the toilets area bins full I don’t think it’s never been empty and I come 4 times a week here. Cleaning lady talk on the phone instead of doing her job duties in changing rooms. A full length mirror would be beneficial in changing room. A lot of machines out of use. The only positive thing here is the staff, very helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: Huge gym with 2 triceps ropes in the whole gym ??!

Negative experience: I used to attend a Pilates and yoga class on a Saturday morning but these appear to be cancelled, I don’t understand as they used to be full. They have now added a Pilates class which I attended with only three members. Please bring back the Saturday classes!!

Negative experience: I hardly leave reviews but had to let people know about my experience before they make the mistake of buying a membership like i did. My qr code scanner didn't work often and no-one was there to help me gain access when it didn't work. My partner inside would try to get the attention of staff and even though they saw him try to grab their attention, they went into the staff room and didn't come out, even when bells and buzzers where rang multiple times. There are no workers in sight and no-one there willing to help - very bad service and it makes me question if anyone would be there to assist in a likely medical emergency. I originally signed up to do yoga classes and the yoga instructor never showed up after the first 2 sessions, and even though the gym knew she wouldn't turn up, the sessions were still showing as available on the app. All of the pegs are missing from machines and people are very impatient over waiting for machines.Would not recommend.

Negative experience: Too many damn FRESHIES in the gym

Negative experience: Been member for 6 months hygiene level is dropping. No paper blue towels , changing rooms not cleaned regularly. Also I only see one cleaner ,a place this size would expect atleast 2 cleaners. The actual gym itself alot of equipment always out of order, alot of pins missing and dumbell just left in every area of the gym. I was looking around for 26kg dumbells found one in the squat area the other still a mystery.

Negative experience: Good gym, but always lacked leg machines. Almost just one of each and it adds a fair amount of time waiting/sharing machines. As of right now there are two of the key leg machines out of order, and they have been for a few weeks. Usually, it's a fairly good gym. Only sometimes lacks accessories such as pull-down ropes and barbell clips.

Negative experience: Been a member of this gym for a few years now and it does appear standards are slipping. Cleanliness has dropped massively, why are there reduced cleaning stations? Surely it can't cost that much to keep a tissue roll and anti -bac spray around the gym? Furthermore there used to be a couple of hand sanitizing stations in the gym. These have since been removed also. Why would you remove a hand sanitizer of all things?? The gym always seem to have a musty smell also, ventilation seems to be broken or something

Negative experience: Going downhill massively. Initially, it was regularly cleaned and well maintained but now everything is breaking down and changing room is extremely dirty.

Negative experience: Needs a refresh, pins in weight stack machine often missing. Blue role often empty or low to clean machines prior and after use. Only one cleaning station. Some treadmills are not fully working.

Negative experience: Loved the gym when I first started but really started to go dowhill...many of the equipments are out of order, dumbells are all over the place and have spend minutes to find them same with the plates. I normalli work out early in the morning but its no different...gym is messy and cant hear my own music becasue the gym speakers are really loud. Shame the gym going this way.

Negative experience: I went to this gym yesterday for the first time as ive heard good things about this gym, however Yesterday I had a terrible experience. I had a great session up on till I had my shower. The cleaner a black guy with a beard, started violently shouting and argued with me because I was having a shower. This left me confused and gave me emotional stress I want to cancel my membership.

Negative experience: I had recently lost my headphones at the gym and someone had found them and gave it to one of the workers there, when I asked the staff he said "he defiantly had the headphones as he himself had put them away safe" but once he started looking he could not find it. I was also told maybe one of the staff had taken away the headphones for themselves as they were not cheap and were about £250 and that I should get money back for it since the staff were responsible for losing it but that never happened. I had even talked to mike (manger) who said they will get in contact but never did and later on said that he cannot do anything about since it has been 2 weeks but it had only been 5 days only and they were just trying to get away from paying for something THEY lost.

Fantastic experience: Tremendous effort by JD West Brom! Better than the Birmingham JD which is filthy most of the time not to mention the fact that items go missing their, however same can’t be said for the West Brom gym! The changing rooms were as clean as a whistle and the sauna was clean also. Not one of the machines or exercise machines were out of order unlike Birmingham JD were major muscle groups machines are constantly out of order. The vending machines seemed fully stacked up so their is always drinks protein water you can buy during or after your workout. All I all my only worry was the car park as it was hard to understand how much time jd gym users had and I think it’s unfair that gym users can only have a limited time I think expert gym users need a good few hours in the gym especially if they have clients and classes to run. Overall great gym! Keep it up JDs and do something about the Birmingham branch please!!

Negative experience: I have been coming here for 2 years! All the staff here are very nice and friendly. But today a problem happened to me when a PT here came to warn me and threatened to beat me right at the gym. It's hard to understand why she does that or if she has psychological problems! When I was doing weight training and I hadn't finished it yet but I wanted to do another exercise and would come back and I still did those things as normal as usual but she came to remind me and I said I hadn't finished training yet I would come back again ! Then she approached me again and talked about that problem with an angry face, then rolled her eyes and came closer to my face, intending to hit me and threaten me. I was very scared, I was haunted. mentality ! The first time I experienced going to the gym to relax after a long tiring day, but the last time she saw me I was not happy. One time I was working out with my weights and she came and took it away without asking me. Do I still use it or not? When I went to the front desk to talk to another employee to get the manager's phone number, she came up to me and said "do you think calling the manager will help you?" but I had to cry at the gym.. a very sad thing for a big company to have such bad employees! Please someone solve this problem with her! thay why i just put 2 star

Negative experience: Honest review of the gym - First impression when you walk in is the decor is modern and new. The gym itself has a good range of weight training machines with loads of treadmills. The free weight bench area is very cramped and if you come past 5pm, its likely you wont get a bench, in fact, if you come past 5pm its likely you will be waiting for almost any machine. This comes onto my reason for thinking the gym is over populated with too many members, particularly youngers from the college opposite the road (in groups of 3 or 4 on one machine!) The hygiene in the mens toilets is also VERY poor, there is always 1 or 2 handwash dispensers not working and you will frequently see men in there shaving their beard in the sink which should not be allowed. The main reason I left this gym is due to the busyness during after work hours and the general hygiene. Generally most staff are ok however, I have spoke to some rude staff members with no communication skills which I’ve avoided in the future. I wouldn’t recommend this gym if you are just looking to get your workout done and be in and out. There’s plenty better gyms in the area.

Fantastic experience: Always clean and plenty of machines and free weights to use

Negative experience: I've been coming here for 2 years and Ive noticed a lot of staff have left which is fair enough but the new manager (I assume) who starts around 5am just sits down and does nothing to replace the weights or equipment so you spend half your workout searching around the gym. It's a shame because I considered this a high quality gym only a few weeks ago.

Fantastic experience: Went to the gym on a trial basis and had a great experience. I went to Sandra's Zumba class and it was really good, high energy and she's lovely. She's one of the main reasons why I have decided to join the gym. The gym staff are very friendly and helpful as well, especially Marcel and Adam who were happy to arrange the free trial for me. They even called me back at a later date to get some feedback. The gym and changing rooms were very clean and there was a lot of choice for gym equipment. Parking is also conveniently right outside of the gym and is free for 2.5 hours.

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend this gym! Adam and Marcel were wonderful with their customer service skills and was very informative considering I’m pretty new to starting the gym. A tour was given to show the facilities etc. Free parking is included, as long as you validate it. Great equipment and a clean gym✅

Positive experience: I would give this gym a 5 star review because it was one of my proper gyms i started in and enjoyed ever bit of it but i missed one payment because my weekly pay wasn’t in my bank yet and they raised my monthly pay to £34 a month. So if u do go to this gym please be aware that they’ll raise ur bill if u miss one payment

Negative experience: Awful experience. AVOID THIS GYM. Despite the "free parking", I have been given 2 parking fines despite always putting in my registration into their iPads. They told me they would sort it but called me once the fine hit £100 to tell me they can't do anything. You're better off elsewhere. Bunch of scammers.

Fantastic experience: A big and spacious gym. Members enjoy free parking (this needs to be validated on each visit). As with a lot of other popular gyms, it gets very busy during weekday evenings, particularly the beginning of the week. Even during this busy period, you can still get a running or cycling machine. There are plenty of benches for free weights too.

Positive experience: I had a few issues when trying to use the app. And initially was hard to get through to the West Bromwich gym, as no one ever answered. But when I e-mailed them they did call me after a couple of days and sorted everything for me.

Positive experience: This place is good when it's not busy, and most of the treadmills always seem to be unavailable. Some of the equipment needs oiling as they squeak really loud.

Positive experience: JD gym used to be the gym I use to go, such a shame I had to leave because of moving homes. I would give them a 3/5 meaning its okay and that not bad because they are very hygenic and offer a vast range of classes with multiple instructors which is nice. When it comes to terminating or freezing a membership they can be very stingy and it is best to actually read the terms and conditions as for instance even if you are a non-contract member you are still required to give them 30 day notice but they can take up to 14 days to process the ticket you make therefore it is best to do 5 weeks before notice for them so you do not pay for 2 months when cancelling.

Negative experience: Worst gym manager Adrian. No courtesy to listen to anyone problem. Gym takes no responsibility for anything if something happens they just say sorry we can't do anything. Gym is oky manager should leave I guess

Positive experience: This place is alright for its price. However, one thing I mainly disliked is the amount of people that were looking at you whenever you would do a workout. I loved the interior design of the lockers however, dont you think its only fair that you can get a lock for free with the amount paid of £25.99 The one frustrating part about this gym is the cancellation. When I canceled my membership 3 weeks prior to the next bill. They have informed me that I need to pay for next month cause " You did not inform us last month of the cancellation", So, please note if you cancel the membership either let them know a month prior or they will take money off you.

Positive experience: Once again the gym is to hot! Many people have complained about this and many people keep telling staff. But nothing seems to change. It seems more comfortable to sit around in rather than work out. Disappointing.

I have been calling the JD GYM ( West Bromwich ) Since 4.15pm and now it is 6.41pm (27. 04.23) I needed to speak to the manager. But no luck!! It's really disappointing. ‍

Negative experience: I'm a disabled user so this is purely from my experience of it. I am sure that for an able bodied user the gym would be perfectly adequate. The equipment is too crammed together to make it properly accessible. Many users clearly have no respect for the gym and the majority of 'staff' either (they're all personal trainers rather than proper staff) as weights get left everywhere, clips for barbells are almost non-existent, and even pegs for weight machines disappear very regularly. The disabled shower is fine, though it has to be locked as other users just randomly use it. It also doesn't have a dry seating area in it to allow you to get changed (so I have to bring a second towel and sit on the floor). I only use this place as its 24hour and the parking is free.

Positive experience: I've been a member at the gym for over 12 months. Love the classes mainly BODY combat with Jordan. I joined JD when 24/7 fitness closed down. Would like to see her back on the time table soon!
