Fantastic experience: Love the Hyrox classes, especially on a Monday evening. Could do with more classes on an evening after 6pm and on a weekend. Especially the hyrox one, one on a weekend would be even better! Busy but good gym with lots of equipment!

Fantastic experience: The gym is canny. Quite big, but gets busy in a morning. It’s a little dated, and could do with updates to the distribution of space based on changes in fitness trends. Camden is a really great PT. Very knowledgeable, and patient. I’ve been working with him for a couple of years now. If you’re a bit unsure of the gym, I would definitely recommend. The music is absolutely diabolical though. You can tell it’s licence free, it’s free for a reason. Other PureGyms I go to have actual real music. I don’t know how the staff put up with it. It’s like the music you would use for a corporate presentation on repeat. Very short play list so you hear the terrible songs A LOT. In summary, good gym, could do with modernising. Camden is great. Please turn off the music.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Experience at Pure Gym! I’ve been a member at Pure Gym for a while, and I’m continually impressed with the quality of the facilities and the professionalism of the staff. Recently, I attended two spinning classes—one with Feren and one with Jordan—and both were outstanding. Jordan brings incredible energy to the class and ensures that everyone is motivated to push their limits while keeping it fun. Feren is equally amazing, providing clear guidance and an encouraging atmosphere that makes you want to keep coming back. The variety of equipment and classes offered at Pure Gym makes it easy to stay committed to my fitness goals. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a supportive and dynamic environment!

Negative experience: Fortunately, I came from abroad for 10 days and I did try to sign in the gym and I request for help but the manager didn't show any proactively activity or any attention to help and he said you have to open bank. How come I open back account for 10 days only Unfortunately, I would love to sign in with the management refuse I offered to pay by card, but they refuse in general. They refuse to to do step to help. I left the gym with sadness and upset

To sign up on a monthly paying membership you would need to have a UK bank account however we do offer day passes which do not require this. Day passes can range from 3,7 and 30 days and can be purchased using any card as a one-off payment via our website. Negative experience: Instead of fixing leaks, they just put buckets all around the gym floor. It's very unsafe and I don't know how management think this is acceptable.
Positive experience: Not my favourite pure gym, it feels odd entering the gym through a tiny pod, and that alone has put me off unfortunately. They have a great range of equipment, but it’s organised a little confusingly, and it’s so big that you could end up just wandering about. The equipment (such as the mats) were very worn and in poor condition.

Positive experience: It’s a really busy gym, and the downstairs machines area smell quite bad. It’s quite dark as well, so it’s not the best atmosphere to train. It’s also expensive due to location, which shouldn’t be. Oh and people posing in the mirrors is quite common to see.

Negative experience: I wish there’s a 0 star option to rate this gym. Possibly the worst facilitated gym in city centre. I’ve been coming to this gym since last year as my PT she’s based here. The experience of taking my PT classes and using the facilities at this gym has been awful. Especially in the past couple month the smell of the gym is funky. From the moment I walk through those door the entire gym particularly the downstairs section just stink of sweats. It doesn’t seem like the air ventilation is on at all. The air conditioner probably has been broken for at least 2 months and it’s probably still not been fixed. Not sure whether the AC is actually broken down or it’s not on either way it is just so humid and musty to work out in there. Another thing that has not been fixed is the hip abduction machine. It has been making unpleasant squeaky noice for months. I wouldn’t be surprised if the machine would start falling apart any moment. The would always be few random bucket around the gym because the air conditioner is dripping water or the roof is leaking. With that being said it doesn’t seem like any member of management has took on board and dealt or resolve of any matters. Certain members in the gym is just unpleasant to train around with. If you are a girl please just avoid this gym at peak time because you would have a 30+ year old men who is probably twice or triple the size of you shouting at you and your PT in front of the entire gym making you feel extremely uncomfortable and intimidated. At the time of this incident member of management didn’t take this incident seriously as the man that were involved is a long term member of this gym.
Negative experience: After two years of being a member, this gym has generally served me well. However, it is getting increasingly overcrowded and oversubscribed whilst membership prices go up. Also, they have systematically reduced most of the cleaning stations so people don't really want to walk to the other side of the gym to clean their machine up after use. Also, the AC is hardly ever on, or at least it's on an ultra low setting which makes it difficult to work out in the summer. These are the main reasons why I've cancelled my membership and opted to go elsewhere.

Positive experience: Nice gym with lots of equipment but maintenance is lacking. Some training equipment, dryers in the bathroom always out of order.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Fantastic experience: A very wonderful experience, the general atmosphere is wonderful and the availability of large numbers of machines with excellent quality
Positive experience: Pure Gym is mt most favourite gym, but why i am giving three star is just because of only one problem but a biggest problem. In pure gym your locker and stuffs are not safe easily you can lose your precious stuffs if you put it in the changing room locker. I have lost my shoes T- Shirt and expensive Pad Lock aswell.

Negative experience: So I have been a member of this gym for only 3 days and it’s been the worst 3 days at a gym. I have an off peak membership which you would think means it’s less busy… nope it’s impossible to get on any equipment, people sit on their phones on equipment for 10 minutes plus without completing a set and when you do ask to use the equip they say they have one set left which takes them 15 minutes to do. But the worst thing about this gym is the equipment, it’s left EVERYWHERE no one puts anything away, if you want to use dumbbells forget it half of them are constantly missing scattered around the gym, it’s seems as the trainers or staff there don’t put any effort into trying to return equipment to the right places for people to use, benches are just scattered everywhere, I have come across one in the middle of the cardio section already and this is just within 3 visits to the gym. If they can’t keep up with the number of members here maybe put a stop on taking new members until you can rectify the clear issues in this gym.

Negative experience: Staff/ management needs to pay more attention to the dumbell area… its like the wild wild west, not only are dumbells not in their right place on the holder anymore, they’re not even in pairs. Just random 50 next to an 8, next to a 32, no care from the people training or the staff to clean this up. Gym generally seems very understaffed (takes ages for bathrooms to be restocked, water flavours restocked etc)

Negative experience: I've been a loyal member of Pure Gym Urban Exchange for over 5 years now, so I've seen its evolution firsthand. There's a lot to appreciate here, starting with its local presence and the quality of the equipment available. The gym has everything you need for a comprehensive workout, from cardio machines to free weights. However, its popularity, although a testament to its value, does bring about some challenges. During peak hours, the gym can feel a bit overcrowded, which is further compounded by the fact that equipment is often left out instead of being put back in its place. This not only creates a chaotic environment but also makes it difficult to find and use equipment efficiently. A significant portion of the gym floor is frequently 'reserved' for classes during these peak times. This means that even as the gym buzzes with members, access to essential equipment is restricted, which can be frustrating for those of us looking to get in a full workout. One of the most pressing issues, however, is the gym's ventilation. The air conditioning system seems to be perpetually out of order, or perhaps it's not being utilized as it should be. This has led to excessive condensation on the walls and windows, making the gym uncomfortably humid and warm. It's not just a matter of discomfort; it feels like a health and safety oversight. Cleanliness is another area where Pure Gym Urban Exchange could significantly improve. Despite the presence of cleaners, their efforts seem superficial, with dust accumulation clearly visible across the gym. A more thorough cleaning regime would greatly enhance the workout environment. Pure Gym Urban Exchange has all the makings of a flagship facility for the brand. Its popularity among locals is a clear indicator of its potential. However, this same popularity is contributing to its drawbacks, particularly in terms of cleanliness and equipment management. There's a real opportunity here for Pure Gym to address these issues head-on and elevate the gym to a standard that not only meets but exceeds members' expectations. After more than half a decade of membership, I hope to see these changes implemented, for the betterment of all gym-goers.

Fantastic experience: The gym is clean and extremely big. Equipment is all in great condition. Staff was nice. Subscribing to membership and cancellation both were via the app, quick and easy. There was no hassle when cancelling the membership as well. Staff is happy to give gym tour if you ask.

Negative experience: One of the worst gyms I’ve attended. Equipment is horribly outdated & massively oversubscribed so no chance of getting on anything. Ended up paying to go to a further gym just because the convenience of this pure gym isn’t worth it. Clientele are questionable.

Negative experience: Hello. It's a weird gym. I informed the staff and he went to make sure that the toilet in the shower cabin was somehow left behind, he came back after 1.5 hours and when he was there, he didn't do anything. On the contrary, aggressive behavior towards the customer, instead of sorry, blocked the active subscription for another 8 days for which I paid £41. The only reason is that it is unpleasant for me to talk on the phone with a manager with such a staff, because it may be that the manager is an even bigger figure if his subordinates allow themselves to treat customers like that. Fantastic experience: Excellent gym. Impressed they have a seated calf raise machine. Disappointed it was hogged by one guy who spent more time chatting on phone. Have you considered having a few more pieces of gym etiquette listed besides just returning weights after use. This and hogging three pieces of kit is busy periods is a serious problem.

Fantastic experience: The pure gym feels like second home to me. It doesn't matter what time I go; there's always someone among the Staff who will always make me feel welcomed. Long ago I thought the Fitness First gym was the deal but on second thought Pure Gym is all deals. Every time after a hard workout I feel like going back. Its clean, friendly, a lot of space, more than enough training equipment... I love the trademill and I run till the machine stops without anyone asking "How many minutes left mate?" I will always said the "Pure is pure!!".

Negative experience: Used to love this gym when I joined. Good mixture of equipment and decent size. However, this year member numbers seem to have skyrocketed and I have to search and wait for equipment every single time I go, regardless of the time of day or day of the week. It feels irresponsible that there isn't a cap on member numbers because at times it feels unsafe with people climbing over each other and lifting weights within 2 inches of one another. Not to mention the issues with not returning weights to the racks and people filming themselves and catching you on their recording. Unless this changes I will be cancelling membership

Positive experience: The gym has got all the equipment that I need however, the cleanliness level can easily be improved. The tissue in the attached picture has been there for at least 2weeks. I have left this gym and joined Virgin for a year just because of the cleanliness issue. Maybe adding some odour scent killer will help make your clients more comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Best PureGym in Manchester. Always clean. I usually visit after midnight and the night cleaning team have it spot on. Been to other pure gyms which had horrendous hygiene but the cleanliness of this place keeps bringing me back

Negative experience: Got charged £60 for a parking ticket for parking for 2 hours 5 mins, don’t understand how you can’t park more than 2 hours at a bloody gym?! The tablet extends your stay but it’s so easy to forget, should be placed forefront when entering the gym or highlighted - absolute joke.

The car park is operated by a third party company in which we do not have any affiliation with. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to cancel such tickets. Information regarding parking is available on the home page of any PureGym which offers parking. The correct parking procedures must be followed, to avoid a parking ticket. We would always advise that you appeal the fine and explain the circumstances. If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym. If your appeal is rejected, we would suggest submitting a case with POPLA. POPLA are an independent appeals process which works with the Ombudsman Service. They investigate whether this fine was issued correctly in accordance with the terms and condition of the car park; whilst reviewing evidence provided in the appeal. On the rejection notice, there should be a 10-digit verification code, and you will then be able to submit an appeal with POPLA via their website: http://www.popla.co.uk/poplaappealprocess. Although we cannot guarantee they will cancel the fine, we do hope for a positive outcome. Thanks, PureGym.
Positive experience: Not terrible but not great, it’s far too busy during the PM, I’ve tried to go at different times and it’s still far too busy to get access to the machines, you end up walking around aimlessly. It feels like the membership numbers are over capacity for this branch, also could do with refurbishing, there is abit of a funny smell when you first walk in.

Negative experience: Dominated by a group of muscle guys who don't believe in sharing. Weights all over the place. Spent half an hour looking for a set of dumbbells to find somebody using five sets. It's cheap, but the lack of staff means it's a free for all. I'll be cancelling before the next payment.

Negative experience: Frequented by some of the worst people ever known in the history of mankind. Looks like a bomb has hit it. Dumbbell strewn all over the gym, hidden in corners, etc. Told by staff that I have to bring my own attachments for the cable machines. It is open 24/7 and does have a lot of equipment though.

Positive experience: Impressed with the new equipments and overall the gym is always clean. Changing room is spacious and clean, however the shower takes maybe 5 or 10 minutes to get hot and never stay hot for more than 1 minute. Very difficult to get a proper wash as you need to jump out from the cold and wait till the hot water is back again. They have also recently removed the weighing machine.

Negative experience: Aircon never works and is always too hot, machines need replacing. Up side it's a big gym but it's very tired.

Positive experience: Not what it was. I love PureGym for the classes but since they’ve have started repeatedly changing the timetable, apparently on the instruction of HQ, the type of classes and the quality of teaching has been incomparable to what it used to be. Immediately post-pandemic it was fine and there were regular attendees but since then it’s been in decline and I rarely see the same people week to week. Many people are local so you can’t blame WFH, they’ve destroyed our enthusiasm! New qualified teachers with no expertise / confidence have been left to run classes on their own. We’ve had flakey teachers that don’t turn up. Several of the classes are very repetitive and taught with no personality. The last two changes to early classes had 3/5 early classes as circuits and now 3/5 are spin. When I think of the quality we had with Lance, Mickey, Rory, Nikki, Abs etc etc it makes me sad. I’ve spoken to a few staff on it but just get the HO comment. Otherwise only use the treadmills and they are fine. Why they’ve turned half the other equipment to face the wall I have no idea. I think it’s symptomatic of their overall lack of empathy to users. When I recently had cause to use the showers I was impressed by the cleanliness. Overall it’s cheap and convenient, and least they do classes, but I saw what it used to be and that’s why it’s disappointing. Edit: almost immediately after this review they changed cycle to 4 mornings a week. Clearly they want this to be a gym just for fit people and casual exercisers are not welcome.

Positive experience: Huge gym with good range of equipment and amount of lockers. Biggest problem is not so much the gym but the etiquette of some people who go here. Weights left all over the floor, plates scattered everywhere and general disarray of equipment. Seen loads of people rack up plates to deadlift in the middle of the floor then just leave it for others to deal with. Makes it a mess and compared to other gyms I've been to, it's just not a nice environment. Hope PureGym sorts it as other 24 hour gyms have systems in place to hold people accountable.

Fantastic experience: The best gym Ive ever been to. Good service. Its 24/7. Nice staff. Got showers and changing rooms are always clean. Enougth trainers as for mashine (atleast two of each, so never realy have to wait for one). Got cameras and safe bike and car parking. Been here for almost a year so far. Only positive emotions so far. Noooice!

Negative experience: Been a member for ten years now, same machines as when they opened, they’re now ancient and poorly maintained, the place is almost always a mess, there’s not actually enough free weights for the number of benches, there are better similarly priced alternatives. Positive experience: The gym is great but for some reason the boxing bags have been removed. I really enjoy doing boxing for my cardio (especially as summer is coming and I want to be cutting). Will the boxing bags be back on?
Negative experience: Sadly this gym has lost most of efficiency / cleanliness. Toliets / showers used to be v clean not anymore. Men's gym showers are in a poor state, broken doors etc and even damaged ones have been sealed off so one less shower available. It's always bugged me showers only have one temp that it is and sometimes its way too hot. The gym is v busy until 8pm from about 5pm too so you have to wait to use a machine during peak time. They have let it go downhill and I don't know why ?

Negative experience: Gym is decent with all your workout needs which is a must but for me the downpoint is its over crowded and really buisy at all times.

Fantastic experience: First time I've been to this gym. Must say, it's A1. Spacious clean changing rooms, no searching for a secure locker, really good hot showers, great kit, fantastic class(as hard as you want to make it), very pleasant staff and busy for early morning which is nice. Recommended.

Negative experience: Too busy for my liking personally. Even if there is enough equipment there are just too many things going on at once. I just can't seem to focus on my workout with so many people around. I also don't really like the pod entrance, it get's stuck if you have a big bag and feels quite claustrophobic. The gym is pretty stuffy as soon as you walk in too. (The cleaning stations are pretty useless with having to spray the tissue)

To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities, so please keep an eye out for updates. As an online company we don't have receptions. However, we have the cylinder POD doors that act as both an entrance and security system. The POD doors monitor entrance with individuals 8 digit code. As well as this we have staff monitoring the gym, as well as a CCTV team. In the meantime, we hope you're able to make the most of the gym and reach your personal fitness goals. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: Very inconvenient environment, their policy is shady. They don’t tell you anything about parking charges. Be careful. The only way you can contact them is through Facebook.

Positive experience: Let's start with the good points: - Plenty of sanitisation areas - Relatively tidy and clean - Fairly big upstairs area with functional and plenty of cardio machines ** Bad points - and why we're moving gyms imminently: - Just way too busy! There needs to be a cap. At peak times there's well over 110 people in that gym. The majority in the weights section - Stinks of body odour as soon as you enter. Either reduce the number of people or improve air flow. - Unfortunate amount of chavvy clients - Roid rage - even today. You don't really want to go to work out in an environment like that. The staff seem really friendly! Unfortunately, you can't kick out the anti-social clients, but there should be a reporting tool for poor gym etiquette. Hopefully see you soon PureGym Urban Exchange!

Fantastic experience: All wearing masks, all equipment is cleaned after use. Free weights can be untidy, weights being left on floor but that all. Excellent gym
