Fantastic experience: Very good gym and very friendly and can always ask for help

Positive experience: Decent local cheap gym. Bussy in peak times as expected. A few good classes available.

Negative experience: I was planning to join this gym but so many negative reviews I'm thinking otherwise

Positive experience: Nice place to gym, parking is free for 2.5hrs and you get to train with a variety of equipment.

Negative experience: Since the Gym is open 24/7 the quality has gone down massively. Machines not working (most of the displays on the rowing machines for instance) and stuff laying around, and staff not really caring about it, even when you tell them. You don’t even find staff outside the office anymore. When I have to spend more time finding equipment to make machines even working it's time to consider changing to a new gym. If that doesn't change very soon we will definitely go to a different place.

Negative experience: I joined JD gym in Plymouth as I was visiting a friend, I couldn’t fault it. Unfortunately the Harlow gym is the opposite. The running machines have buttons missing and sound like they could do with a service. The changing rooms always smell of urine which put me off using the showers. There is no sauna. The staff seem massively disinterested on the couple of occasions where I’ve asked them questions. Not for me and I’ll be cancelling my contract with this gym.

Positive experience: I joined JD Harlow recently switching from Pure Gym hoping to get more quality. The gym is nice and well equipped however it’s disappointing that there are cable machines out of orders plus having the hook missing on both side, on some of the cable machine and also a lot of attachments missing too. Male toilet is not clean and it stinks.

Positive experience: Recently joined for the £10 first month offer, the gym is local to me and use of the multi story car park is brilliant. Wide range of machines and weights, staff have been friendly when I've needed help. Only drag, and I'm aware this is small in the grand scheme; There's 1 toilet cubicle in the gents. Seemingly a small complaint but in an environment where vast numbers of men are consuming large amounts of protein, the 2 times I've even braved to look into the cubicle I'd wished I was accompanied by a priest. Other than that, enjoying my time with JD gyms, I do shift work too so looking forward to the 24/7 opening times

Fantastic experience: Great gym, 2 floors

Negative experience: Last Sunday, an staff member decided to open the gym at 8:30 am instead of 8:00 am, unfortunately this is the third time this has happened to me. Same person. I don't usually do reviews like this, but 3 times! Come on! Someone needs to explain to this girl that it is not okay to keep customers outside for 0.30 minutes and not even say "sorry" or anything upon arrival. Why does someone keep giving her the keys?

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever been to loads of equipment loads of space and a place you can go to forget about the outside life. A place to train hard, perfect best

Fantastic experience: It was a wonderful experience exercising for physical fitness. The equipments were in top form environment was clean an spacious.

Negative experience: Do not recommend this gym the PT's behave like bullies! For anyone with additional needs save your money, very poor experience.

Negative experience: i was trying to stop my membership and the only way was via email.replies from emails were very late so it took me two months without going there and the gyms every time i lost my time to go to the workers and to tell them to stop taking the money from my account, they told me that they will answer you as soon as possible. It went on for more than two months as a result of which they charged me two months of subscription without me being there. shame on them

Positive experience: Good gym though at busy times not enough machines for the level of members but annoying having to wait to use a machine

Positive experience: Nice and clean gym,only issue is that new parking system,most of the times i had to ask for gates to be open as that ipad in the gym doesnt work properly. This needs to be sorted.

Negative experience: Good machines, plenty of space, but very poor maintenance and management.

Positive experience: Nice gym with lots of stuff,but I was surprised that basics were missing like foam rollers,jumping ropes.But gym is well orgnized.4stars just because single entries are not allowed.Only monthly memberships.I travel a lot,so I need to visit various gyms during a week.

Fantastic experience: Been loyal to that gym since start, even before, when there was 2 previous owners under different name- always clean, stuff helpfull, especially manager. They really try to fix broken gym gear as quick as possible.Never gonna change for other gym!!!

Negative experience: I've have been using the Harlow gym for several years, in fact I joined when it was the previous owner. I echo what the previous post said about the time it takes to fix things, but in addition, I have an issue with the locker room. Several lockers are unusable and some people have decided to OWN a locker by keeping a lock on it forever. Not only is this selfish, but also a security risk. A terrorist could easily pack a locker with explosive and blow up the whole Harvey centre. Before you say that this is far fetched, it has been done in the past. That is why you do not see lockers in stations any more. The notice says that lockers will be emptied every night but this does not happen. I have raised this issue before and been told that if there are no lockers, I could leave my clothes in the staff room.. That is such a cop out. I was in the gym at 8 at the weekend and counted 23 lockers padlocked by selfish individuals and as I say many of the others are wrecked, so come on JD get the bolt cutters out and put a stop to this greedy practice Following the above, I had a phone call agreeing with my points and promising that these rogue padlocks would be cut off that night. Well, that night has been and gone and nothing has been done. Why am I not surprised. JD should go into politics promising things and not delivering. 3 days and counting let's see if anyone can be bothered to put things right!

Fantastic experience: Great Gym

Negative experience: The condition of your gym equipment is terrible!!!! Why don't you repair and change your old machine like other JD gym?

Negative experience: I left a great review for this gym before...but i retract it. The gym is absolutely horrific if you really want to train. There are multiple cables broken, nobody makes sure weights are put back, machines broken, there was 2 hand dryers in mens changing, 1 broke they just filled it over and now the other is broke. Air con on the hottest days is never on. Same excuses. Seems like there is no staff and its honestly most of the time like a playground. So yeah this gym is shocking to say the least

Negative experience: At first I loved this gym but now I feel quite let down. I started the Body Pump classes (which are amazing!) but the timetable has changed and made both weekday classes at the same time meaning that they both finish really late. Why this decision was made I don't understand. Both classes will now finish very late. I used to be able to do one late class a week, but two is ridiculous. Now, I'm tempted to either find another gym with these classes or invest in the Les Mills app. They have a few Total Body classes a week, but they are run completely differently. In general, the consistency with the types of classes is a bit off. If the Women's Only part of the gym is of particular importance to you, then I would say that this is not the gym for you. The women's area is really small and quite popular. When I joined, I wasn't even interested in the classes. They are great, but some of the decisions that have been made make no sense to me and now I feel like I'm not getting value for money. This review is based mainly on classes as that has been my core focus and experience with the gym.

Fantastic experience: A very serene place to workout

Positive experience: Lockers in men changing room are very stiff therefor hard to open

Positive experience: Decent gym but Dumbbells are always unorganised/ missing

Positive experience: Only complaint, only 2 lat pull down machines which is awful. Secondly, staff does not constently organise Dumbbells in right order so always have to go on a hunt to find the right pair.

Positive experience: I am currently a member at jd harlow and I like the gym, but would love more hip thrust machines added as there is only one in the weight lifting area and the one in the ladies gym is broken, so I would be happy if you can add more. Also for a better organisation and efficiency, would be amazing if you can group the machines that " work" a certain type of muscle togheter on the same floor, I think more of your members would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Been training with Sam for a few months now and his training style is completely different from the other PTs, he makes sure every session is fun and has progression and makes good use of the gym equipment. Highly recommend him to anyone wanting coaching!!

Fantastic experience: £20 a month is honestly a really good price for this place, it has 2 floors of equipment you could use including treadmills, bench presses and other things. Tends to get busy at times but not to the scale where you'd have to wait alot of time, people there are generally friendly too :).

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym, so glad we joined. From the first visit to look around Lisa was amazing, so friendly and nice, after joining Sam Blunt a PT there was also great, he showed me around the weights floor and how to use the machines that were different to ones I'd used before. The range of weight training equipment is fantastic, couldn't ask for more, there are so many free weights and benches you never have to wait, tons of squat racks, you can use the spin studio anytime a class isn't on, you don't need to book classes, big changing rooms, lots of lockers, free parking in the Harvey Centre, all for £23 per month AMAZING. Also the place has a great overall vibe, the staff are excellent and other members are friendly. The best gym I've ever been a member of and I've belonged to quite a few over the years. Love it. Highly recommend. Well worth the drive from Epping.

Fantastic experience: lovely place

Positive experience: Good variety of equipment, good space. But a slightly awkward location.

Positive experience: Great collection of weights and space. You'll definitely get a great work out here for a small fee every month. Also save money on parking. Music is too loud in the changing rooms, womens changing room can often get a strange sewage smell and showers are okay.

Fantastic experience: It's a gym

Positive experience: Excellent gym. For £20 per month you won't find a gym of this size with this much top quality equipment anywhere else.

Positive experience: Nice facility. Although the walk from the carpark takes up too much time. And is full of little muppets with attitude.

Negative experience: I go to this gym 3 times week However unbelievable there was no men's showers for a week .could management not of informed members? Or even posted a sign up as youwalk in. This is lack of good service. Next time some one please think how are we supposedly going to wash before work!

Positive experience: Pros: Good equipment. Good inside area for bikes. Cons: Lots of broken carabiners on equipment . Toilets - only one not good. Showers ok - when they work, been put for mors than a week as I write this. Staff are nice but not sure they are very proactive (due to above) Conclusion: Not bad but no bargain . Pure gym is better but equipment is slightly worse, definatley better if you are a cardio person.

Negative experience: Only one male sit down toilet cubicle in the building. No gym user wipes the machines down after them apart from two people and one is myself. Corona has NOT gone away. Gym staff stand around in tight shirts ignoring customers with not so much as a good morning how are you? Plus they are not correcting people's bad form. Money money money.

Fantastic experience: I have to say I have been going to Harlow JD Gyms for 8 weeks now and I’ll never look back , called NH Fitness and she got me in and helped me - introduced me to Ollie who has helped me get the results I need and wanted for so long . Thanks to NH fitness , Ollie and JD Harlow I’m getting the results I wanted for so long - I also want to take the time and thank all of the PTs that work at Harlow JD Gym as they have always made me feel welcome and are always there for advice and help — thank you

Fantastic experience: Great Gym and well priced. Lisa is great always bubbly and welcoming. The gym is always clean and tidy. One small gripe sometimes I train twice a day but can only be scanned in once I need someone to let me in the second time. Other than that all good!

All the staff are very nice and Rhiannon is particularly knowledgeable and helpful. It’s good value and much nicer than any other gyms in the area, I always recommend it to all my friends.

Fantastic experience: Joined Jd Gym Harlow in November, all staff was friendly and approachable, currently personal training with Jack and he’s been superb, makes you feel comfortable and keeps you on track, it’s a clean friendly environment with great management, credit to all the staff that make this place outstanding

Fantastic experience: JD as well as a few other shops were subject to a power cut today, but how fantastic were Nicki and Bex (PT instructors) who asked permission and conducted an impromptu LBT session in the middle of The Harvey Centre. Great instructors, lovely people and best gym for miles.

Positive experience: This is a very nice gym in terms of equipments and cleanliness. Also provides free parking which is a plus. What is not so good is the gym's AC: on a cold day like today (3 degrees outside), it's really cold in the gym and it's really difficult to break a sweat!!
