Negative experience: This gym is ok - a bit small and difficult to get a work out in busy times but otherwise it is good enough. My review is for the poor customer service online and FitnessFirst in general. They have no goodwill and will refer to the T&Cs to charge you more and keep you locked in your contract. They increased my cancellation fee from £30 to £257 when I said I am leaving… Be wary, they don’t care about their customers

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Dillson gave me a brilliant tour around the different workout rooms, equipment and spa/shower space. Looks like a great gym!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Fitness First for a while now, and I absolutely love it. The classes are challenging and fun, Jamie’s SPARR classes, in particular, always push me to go beyond what I thought I could do, and are so much fun, I tend to attend every week! I also do personal training sessions with Mo, who is great and very professional. He always motivates me to push myself and improve, and I can really see the progress I’m making. The staff and other members are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the atmosphere so positive and enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: Hey hey! Over a year training here ! The staff is soooo friendly - 1st huge thanks to Jamie - best manager ever! - very friendly -and close to his team and members ! Always telling us new updates in the gym (sparr, etc) !! If you have the chance join Hyrox ! 7am is the best time to wake up before office and smash the day.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with excellent facilities. The changing rooms and showers are always clean. The team is great and very friendly! Definitely worth trying the SPARR class.

Positive experience: Very good gym with a wide range of equipment. Love the heavy bag because not many gyms have it. Staff and instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. I love the mobility/yoga class with Dasha and the SPARR class with Jamie. Would love to see some improvements around the shower/SPA area: the shower stickers for privacy are all off, liquid soap dispenser/shower mixer valves are not always functioning. Can add a sign in the sauna to indicate if it's a quite zone or not, often people argue over it because other people listen to loud music inside the sauna. Water fountain in the sauna area can be upgraded to allow people to fill bottle

Fantastic experience: Very good gym ! Spacious and very clean . Great functional training area with rack , Olympic rings , parallel bars , elastic bands. Enough squad racks and Olympic bars. Showers and lockers available , bring padlock. Day pass : £35 Great swimming pool with sauna and steam room . Spa area and swimming pool are shared between males and females.

Fantastic experience: Very good gym to go to. The staff are friendly with a variety of equipment to use. The gym is always clean the spa area pool, sauna and steam room is always a great place to relax after a good workout.

Negative experience: Recommend to avoid this gym - staff are very unfriendly. I saw a female staff cursing badly and looking for the person who didn’t remove the plates… Very hard to find a good staff. Most of them are offensive for some reason. This is more of the problem of the Fitness First in general, but I also referred my friend to the gym in exchange of a month free(was the deal) but I haven’t got them after months. I contacted them multiple times and they said they can’t find in the system if I did it properly, so they can’t get me the month off. I want to change my gym, and even though I finished my 1 year contract, they are asking for the cancellation fee of 1 month. Sauna and steam always have issues, hot water doesn’t work during winter, etc etc. very difficult to say it’s a good gym.

Negative experience: the locker room is not secure and people steal even with a padlock

Negative experience: Good gym, but unfortunately it's not safe to store anything in the lockers. They robbed me and a friend in less than a month, even with a lock, they opened it and took my bag with everything. It's terrible not to feel safe. The volume in the cardio room is extremely loud and you can't hear your headphones well.

Negative experience: They are scams! It is impossible to cancel your membership until you pay full amount of cancellation fee which is equal to the full cost of unused membership. I was scammed by them when they said that I can cancel my membership anytime and pay the difference between £115 - £105 monthly fee. So I was expected to pay £10 difference multiplied by the number of month I used. Instead, they forced me to pay the full membership cost for the 6 month ahead I had in my contract even though I terminated the contract. So I payed them extra 6 month payment for nothing. Additionally they try to withdrawal £105 from month to month. So even when you are no longer have any deal with FF, they still using your debit card information to withdraw money. This is so annoying. I need to check my bank account every time and block their attempt to withdraw money for nothing. As a newbie in London I never knew that fitness club can be such a thief organization. Never do any contracts with them. And ask full contract to be printed out. They have so many hacks so that you cannot catch them. And yes, I contacted FF. I cannot call directly being in different country. So emailed to FF. Unfortunately FF consideres emails in 7 days, hope they consider it. Because I need to solve this issue and make sure my bank account details are no longer on their system.

Negative experience: Sauna hygiene is terrible and the gym does not provide basic etiquette instructions to gym goers. People are wearing their sweaty underwear, not showering before entering the sauna, or sitting on a towel. That being said, the staff is great - friendly, attentive and helpful. There’s lots of classes and the instructors are always delightful. Unfortunately, opening hours are poor, with the gym closing early on weekends. Suggestion: add instructions on the sauna door (e.g. shower before entering, sit on a towel, wear clean swimwear or a towel).

Positive experience: Gym facilities are good, all equipment works and staff are friendly. However, air conditioning is non existent which makes it very hard to train. It would appear that this is a long standing issue that has so far gone unresolved, for a gym membership of this price I would expect more of an effort to have been made to either fix or install new air conditioning. It is not even summer yet and the temp in the gym is 25degrees, I fear the gym may be unusable in July/june.

Negative experience: I cried many days. I pay for this gym and being treated roughly, I just wish no one else will experience this again. The employees are fearless either the company doesn’t care or the company doesn’t know. Whatever the reason is. You won’t be treated well, they are careless. Please read my story before join this gym. This gym has no service, they smile to you when you do the payment, and they will smile and say hello to you when you clock in & out. But once you have problems, they are impatient, rude and helpless! People like to take a selfie & video in the lady's changing room (This happens many times, a lot of customers complains and chat in the changing room about it also reported this to the front desk, but nothing changed). Untill one day it happened to me. A customer taking a selfie while I was undressed, I am so sad and angry. I immediately reported this to the staff in the reception (the staff I spoke to is an elderly lady with short hair, other staffs are just quiet standing beside her),this short hair staff said there was nothing they could do and nowadays people like to take selfies everywhere, Can’t believe and she said this in front of the customer who was taking a selfie in the ladies’ changing room, such unwise! ! ! And this staff said to us go outside to discuss, it’s late we're closing! Ridiculous ! What a service it is! Unfortunately I still have to face to the staff untill my year membership end. Such a nightmare!

Negative experience: Over the years the gym lost its reputation they dislike members who have been loyal for many years! They have closed so many gyms and subject us to a higher monthly rates which is ridiculous. Lost so many members to their competitors I’ll be surprised if they survive another year !! I’m out of here !

Negative experience: Pool is dirty and not great for swimming. Black mould in the corners of the pool, water is cloudy and filtration doesn’t appear to be working as water is always cloudy. Chlorine is very strong, beyond what would be expected in a normal pool

Negative experience: If you want to be treated well, choose some other gym. Usually, I am not the person to write negative reviews, so this case deserves it more than any else. Mid Quality Gym with Lying staff members is the best description I can think of. Gym itself is fine, nothing special. Swimming pool is only 15 meters, sauna area has some mold. But the worst are the staff. When my wife was buying the 6 month pass, they were saying that it can be cancelled anytime and will only need to pay next month + difference in fare between monthly and 6 month. So basically (115 - 105)*6 + 105 = 165, that is the exact math that the guy gave us. I asked 3 times. Also, he said that we can use the Gym for the next month, since we are paying 105. In the end, did not let us cancel in person, asked to cancel in the app. The app cancellation did not work for couple of days and next month automatically renewed. App charged more than 185 to cancel on the cancellation and no more ability to go for a PAID month to the gym. So basically, my wife overpaid 290, even though, the only reason we subscribed for 6 month, was because of the staff member who promised an EASY cancellation. Money itself is not an issue, not that expensive anyway, the issue is honesty, and those gyms lack it. Do not trust them, if you want to have peace of mind.

Fantastic experience: Fitness first in Tottenham Court is one of the best gym establishments I've ever been. It's not local to me. However, after a wonderful tour by the gym manager last year, I needed to join. With a massive gym,swimming pool, sauna, and steam room, you simply can't ask for more. I hope to fulfil my dream and drop 25kg in the next 12mths in this spot

Negative experience: The facilities are good, but the organisation and set up isn’t what I expected. Classes finish early, and there aren’t any classes in the evening I can attend (past 6.30pm). You cannot take guests with you, even once a month, which is standard with almost every other gym. I also feel the shower facilities are basic. For the amount the gym costs, I think the quality is only slightly above a budget facility.

Negative experience: If you like being super hot before you started (no or v poor aircon), no space or equipment available and a long wait before you can get started this is definitely the place for you!

Negative experience: 1) Dirty ( requires cleaners to actually clean). 2) Not one shower in the men’s had warm or hot running water , they were all freezing cold . 3) A male in the sauna was only wearing a towel and kept exposing himself. I used to be a member at the Third Space Soho so I am willing to pay for good service. I also have access to the YMCA for free due to my working relationship with the site and I would honestly say that I have a better experience at the YMCA. I purchased a guest price at fitness first TCR which was quite expensive I must say, but I did so with the interest of becoming a member . Unfortunately, I feel like I have wasted my money .

Positive experience: Great venue among other FF branches. London Bridge on the other hand it is having too many issues. Showers are not working, the pipes are leaking, the cleanness is non existent most of the times. The lockers doors are unhinged for weeks. Is a wild West territory. A lot to improve in London Bridge brunch.

Negative experience: This place is rundown and in need of redevelopment. Everything seems to be falling apart. The sauna is like a jenga tower, missing pieces of wood everywhere. Wouldn’t go again.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym, staff, and great facilities. All very welcoming and friendly. Special shout-out to Tom who is highly engaging since I’ve met him and always giving free advice/support during workouts or encounters James is also another member, who gives great support and has strong/welcoming energy when encountered.

Fantastic experience: The staff have been very helpful, kind and encouraging since I joined this gym specifically Tommy. He is always helpful and has taught me how to use the equipment several times. He is one of the best staff members at any gym I have ever been to!

Negative experience: The worst experience I've ever had with a gym: all the women's toilets were clogged, someone stole my water in 5-10 minutes without supervision (I think one of the cleaners). The swimming pool and sauna close half an hour before the gym actually closes, and they start cleaning in front of you. And as a bonus, they wanted to take away my membership for staying in the gym for 5 minutes after closing time. Haha I understand that you shouldn't expect any service from a gym of this level, but it just happened

Negative experience: Well I was expecting much more for the value of money. Apart of great and welcoming staff there is nothing else what is worth the money you pay. Steam room not functional. Gym area is so small it's impossible to follow your training program. A lot and a mean a lot doggy looking members visualy harassing ladies and make them feel uncomfortable. Feel sorry for them. Swimming pool is overcrowded. Well unfortunately I won't recommend this place at the moment.

Positive experience: I've been a member here for about 5 years. It's one of the best central London gyms. Good range of equipment, decent facilities, though sometimes things break and take ages to be repaired. The class timetable is good, especially Nicolas's Les Mills branded classes. Great mixes, superb coaching and always high energy.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful Staff especially Tommy. The place is very clean and tidy. The best thing is the swimsuit drying machine and this is a small but very important point. I recommend this Impressive gym.

Negative experience: Came here on Tuesday morning. The lady at reception was a bit rude and unhelpful. As I was new to this gym, I had no idea how anything worked so it would have been nice to have some explanation rather than giving me a judgy look.

Negative experience: Do not join Fitness First Club if you are likely to cancel after the one week cooling off period. The personnel who assisted me to sign up provided a promise which was not honoured by Fitness First. There was a penalty to pay even if you sign up on a no contract basis. I wanted to tryout the club for one month and then decide if I would join their long term membership. The member of staff who assisted me advised that if I wish to cancel I could just tell them five days before the end of the one month tryout period. However, this was not the case when I requested to cancel after 13 days of joining the club. A one month notice was required which comes with a daily rate. From their responses it looked as though their customer service personnel was copying and pasting from their templates. This experience was unpleasant and Fitness First has certainly burnt their bridge for me to rejoin in the future.

Negative experience: Gone completely down hill. Full of students, wet floors all over changing room. One lat machine that is broken for weeks and going by only leg raise machine that was out for over 2 months. This is not worth the money. No one really seems to care and this is because of the management structure by all accounts. Badly planned floor. Employ the right people to do these jobs as the staff cant. No AC in the weights area. Complete sweat box. They laid for fans for a couple of weeks that dont cost alot and they removed them. Terrible customer service all round for £100 per month

Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to the gym in a while and thought lemme pop into the fitness first in tcr since it’s nearby. Tommy was amazing at showing me around and giving me advice on tips on training in order to reach my goals. He showed me around the gym showing where everything is and how as a great all rounder for a staff member. I’ll definitely be coming back here soon.

Fantastic experience: Found them on google and enjoyed every single second of the class! They are incredibly helpful , amazing teachers who give you lots of tips and motivation! A very friendly environment where you always looking forward to go to again. They are both professional and good people with golden heart. I love them and enjoy myself as a learner in every level. If you like dance you will definitely enjoy these classes and if not you will like it by these fantastic teachers ! Just try it once and it will start your journey !

Negative experience: I had a query so hung around the reception area for a while. The person there was busy on the phone and I waited till he finished. When he finished I left him for a couple minutes to see if he’d ask if I needed assistance, he didn’t. So I asked him for assistance. His response wasn’t very friendly and emphasised it was a premium gym quite smugly. Anyway, the person didn’t offer any recommendations or try to solve my query so I left and went to PureGym down the road who were delighted to help me.

Negative experience: There ja this PT that has no respect for anyone BUT himself, loves him way too much, gets topless whenever he can. He shouts to his clients probably because he trains them SO badly that othera PTs looks at him with pitty (and so many of us). Also constantly taking pictures of him in the shower or anywhere really. Man he loves him just way too much. Please SHUT HIM UP or ask him to be quiet, maybe lower the testosterone cycle as well?

Negative experience: Review based on club communication not premises / facilities. Enquired about membership online, didn’t complete application from. By enquired, I mean filled “become a member” without proceeding with payment set up. Over the next couple of days I received numerous phone calls directly form TCR. Understand websites will track and store info, but 15 phone calls on one day past 8pm is absolutely unacceptable, beyond aggressive. Sign up only if you’re sure you’re joining, otherwise be prepared to be harassed without your consent.

Fantastic experience: I've been to a few gyms in London and this one is the nicest. With the weights, cardio, swim, and finishing with a sauna it is easy to spend two hours here and not get bored. They staff is also top notch with personal attention

Fantastic experience: I was about to workout at the studio around 7:20 pm today and there were two people already in a bit bothered by my presence. They said they have a booking at 8:00pm and I said Ok, but its not yet your time I will leave 5 minutes before. Plenty enough time for me to finish. They were trying to do a video and apparently it appeared that I interrupted them despite the the studio was HUGE! 10 minutes later I was approached by one of them asking me how long am I going to stay? It's not even 8pm and she was asking me to leave so she could make her video. I left politely not saying a word I came down and spoken to one of the staff who was absolutely surprised of what happened and escalated it to the manager. I was frustrated due to the fact I could not work out because somebody needs to make a video at a place that was not even their time yet to use. The manager handled the incident swiftly and professionally and warned them that if it ever happens again they will be kicked out and all their future bookings cancelled. I just want to say I am very impressed on how fast management handled this and how well advocated the members are. Of course I totally respect private bookings within their time frame. But as far as the time prior to those bookings, members should freely be able to use facilities that are included in their subscription and I am happy that the management affirms that. Great customer service and even greater staff support.

Negative experience: My membership (just cancelled) seemed to be double what others were paying. The gym and studios itself are great but the showers, pool and stream room have all seen better days, they are warn out, seem dirty and don’t smell great. This would be fine for a budget gym but I was paying nearly £100 per month.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Fitness First. I often travel and have to deal with trying to find short term gyms, wasn’t the case here. Andre took great care of me and felt like I was at my home gym. Whether you’re in the area for a quick stop or looking for your new home gym, this is the place. Good prices as well for all the amenities and facility.

Fantastic experience: I come to this gym once a week on class pass the staff are very friendly. I left my stuff here by accident and they found it straight away and kept it safe. Highly recommend this gym.

Negative experience: OK gym, good atmosphere and good staff on the floor. Management-wise a disaster - they need to pay attention to MAINTENANCE - e.g. the steam room being out of action for weeks and weeks just isn't acceptable, and a few items (weight machines and shower etc) have been broken for ages and probably forgotten about. Despite being a member for over 5 years, they've recently tried to implement an over 60% price increase on my monthly payments, & gave me just 2 weeks notice! I wrote to customer service and argued that it wasn't within the parameters of the agreement that I'd signed at the beginning and they gave me an ultimatum saying that "I can cancel if I'm not happy". Come on now. Probably won't be a member for much longer.

Fantastic experience: As an American tourist, this is an awesome gym to go to. The amenities were very nice like the large heated pool, hot and dry sauna and the towel service and showers. The working out stations were new and great. But even if this place had lacked some of that, I would still go back just because of the friendly service from the front desk lady Dasha! When we walked through the entrance, right away we were greeted with a smile. She was outgoing, hospitable, and kind throughout our stay here. Definitely recommend anyone to come check this place out. Day passes are around £30

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym I've ever been to! I joined Fitness First TCR in July 2022, got a few friends to join since and wouldn't want to move anywhere else. The facilities and staff are outstanding - special mention goes to Shay and Tino who are always super fun and helpful. Julian has been amazing in helping me reach my fitness goals and Nicolas' body combat classes are absolute fire! Can’t stress how great the whole team are!

Negative experience: The steam room has been broken since I joined with no estimate on when it will be fixed. Towel service is regularly an issue as they run out of towels early morning. They are minor points but not acceptable when the membership fee is so high.

Negative experience: TCR is disappointing for one main reason - many of the male staff are unprofessional and unfriendly. This includes both reception staff and office staff (they have an office next to the cardio section on the 2nd floor). Too much SDE which infects the atmosphere of the gym. Otherwise the facilities provide what I need and I like the female staff, especially the cleaning staff. I wish they had an arm bike or some other form of upper body ergometer.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym with modern facilities and very friendly staff. The pool is clean and the facilities are not too busy so you can get a great workout in without waiting around. 5/5

He provided excellent customer service and helped me and my friend to get through sign up easily. Fantastic experience: Absolutely great gym. Will for sure be signing up here. Very spacious and the sauna, steam and pool are top notch! Cristina and Andrei were fantastic! :)

Fantastic experience: Great gym, I have nothing less positive to say about it. Everything is super clean, the staff is extremely friendly and the classes are fun and motivating. The locker rooms are clean and spacious, lots of showers with good water pressure and the sauna and steam room are fantastic features. The free fresh towels are also a great perk.

Negative experience: **update** Back at the gym today and as usual the steam room is out of use. I don't understand how you can charge full price when the facilities only work a handful of times over the past 4 months! It's even more surprising that you actually replied below to say it's functional when it is clearly out of use 90% of the time. Sort your facilities out, it has been over 6 months like this. --- The steam room is always out of use. It's winter and I went all the way to the gym to have a nice steam and of course it wasn't working. This is getting ridiculous. Fitness First needs to stop advertising and charging for services that basically don't exist and are never usable.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience visiting this gym yesterday. I really want to highlight excellent customer service I have received from Dasha, she was able to assist me and go above and beyond with solutions to my issue. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. The place was overall very clean and amazing. Enjoyed especially the communal stem and sauna spaces. Could use some essential oil in the steam. Loved it all thank you.

Positive experience: Very good gym, we train here as a karate club every Saturday. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Spacious gym with great equipments for use, friendly stuff that help around even when they busy one that comes to mind Tino super helpful he was the one that influenced me to get the membership and all which was probably one of my best decisions this year.Overall it’s all worth the time and effort

Negative experience: Edit: 1. I like the facilities and machines but the instructors/staff here are significantly a lot more cocky/unfriendly compared to Covent Garden. The PTs like to sit down around in the reception, so there’s nowhere to sit after a workout. 2. If you lose or forget something here, such as your water bottle or goggles, you’ll never see it again. The staff there will never bother to check their lost and found and maybe if they do find anything, they probably throw it out on the day. 3. The men here are very into vanity lifting and they don't put their plates back on the rack. I had a very difficult experience in cleaning up and organising all the heavy plates back onto the rack, especially since the bar was much taller than I could've reached. A staff member saw me reaching and carrying those plates, but not only did he not help, he automatically assumed that I was using the squat bar that's half a feet taller than me and squatting around 150kg?? then rudely warned me to put the plates back and walked away as if it wasn’t his job to maintain the gym to a usable state. The staff there used to be a lot more friendly and helpful, but it seems like they have switched the friendly ones out.

Fantastic experience: Clean Gym with respectable customers who put weights back where they belong. Nice swimming pool, perfect for a little sesh. Decent weights selection and good amount of cardio space.

Fantastic experience: very great gym, not so crowded and large rage of equipment; definitely recommend to anyone who’s looking for a gym near the area.

Fantastic experience: The gym is honestly incredible and the environment is welcoming. I signed up talking to one of the most badass managers, Tino, and now he checks on me everytime I go. Needless to say, the staff care dearly about their members.

Fantastic experience: This is my happy place - staff are friendly and supportive. Its really hard to find a commercial gym which has all the equipment but feels like a small community too - this gym ticks both boxes by having a welcoming and friendly culture where you feel you belong and have friends at the same time as having all the benefits of a larger chain-style of gym. I've never really been one for classes but the staff here are so fun and inspiring that they got me involved and it has been one of the best things for my fitness journey! Best gym in town for sure!

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful gym! Amazing staff and the classes are great they really get you sweaty especially Trax. I could go to a gym closer to my house but I choose TCR Fitness First because they’re just so friendly and welcoming. They’re always encouraging and I’ve made fantastic friends there that encourage me to keep going even when I don’t feel like it. Highly recommend!!
