Positive experience: Dirty place, and bad smell

Positive experience: Okayish gym. They added some new equipment but be ready to queue up and wait for a few minutes to use a machine, especially during the evening. The lockers are NOT a safe place to leave your stuff. Even when using a padlock, the knob would still turn with the padlock still on it, opening the locker anyways. The cleaning lady just WALKS in the male changing room, without any warning or sign. So better be comfortable in taking your clothes off, pee or shower with a lady walking around.

Negative experience: Really good equipment since the new refurbishment. However, some terrible clientele. Members who almost never put weights back or unracks bars. Big groups of <16 year old kids running around. Members who repeatedly park in disabled bays despite notices being posted. Members who jump into the pod together to avoid paying membership. I don't blame the staff, I assume it's PureGym policy to never ban/warn members as it might reduce their profit margins, but it makes for a terrible gym. Not to take away from the good members of which there are a fair few.

Negative experience: All the harassment advertisements become real ironic when it actually happens to you when you get no help from the management bc they have no spine

Positive experience: It's big. I went at 4pm on a Wednesday and it didn't seem that busy at all. By the time I had finished my workout an hour and half later it was starting to get quite busy. It was a very hot day and the air con wasn't working. I think I drank 3 times more water than I normally would during a workout because of this and it was uncomfortable. The dumbell racks were a mess, absolute joke. I only spoke to one other gym goer whilst I was there, youngish lad, came across as a bit of a dck. In general I didn't feel a great gym community whilst I was there and the atmosphere just seemed flat. Overall I didn't really like this gym, it didn't feel right compared to other puregyms that I have used but it is big...

Negative experience: Gyms worse now.. new equipment but no extra plate loaded and less lat, upper back machines in the middle new layout also is just a shambles

Positive experience: been a member for over 10 years, same old problems.... leaking air con system, users not putting weights away and underage kids....

Negative experience: Signed up Walsall as multi gym only to find didn't include Bentley bridge, tried charge me £9 extra a month, refused it. Now trying to collect £30 fees, and it increases you membership to £30 a month. Requested cancellation, no live chat, no reply to emails or on messenger. Won't be using again, better options around.

Positive experience: For what it is; it's a decent gym that has multiple areas where people could exercise, I came in here as I am a member of another gym (under the same brand) and I was visiting Wolverhampton and figured why don't I check out the gym here. It's got the typical check in pods where you enter the PIN number provided to you via email or if you download the app you can get the QR code to give you access to the gym. I looked around and it looked to be well maintained with a multitude of different machines focusing on both cardio and strength. I did notice that this gym was considerably bigger than my local gym. One of the things I really did not appreciate was when I was exercising where the leg press area was; the tv there was displaying adverts which is standard for all gyms nowadays however it kept playing the same two adverts over and over and it felt quite demanding to join the army which wasn't appreciated especially since I am ineligible to join due to my disability. Overall, I got a good workout done.

Negative experience: This gym is a joke. Parking is like in a Third world country, anyone with blue badges don’t bother the hero’s park their fancy cars in those bays. The free bet attitude of a handful of selfish people is a joke. Doesn’t matter what time you go you will find someone who is representing all the wrong things about bad attitude and this gym. Want to be part of the 5am club? Think it’s going to be quite..think again! There’s a guy in a red Manchester United top(says it all) who thinks it’s ok to have two 20kg barbells to practically do the same exercise. People hog the weights and the machines with their water bottles or towels. Management are non existent and to operate freely in the gym you have got to get used to confrontational situations. The free weights area with mirrors, helath and safety is out of this world. Sted heads think it’s ok to leave their bags and weights in the middle. Stand in front of the mirror spitting their guts out moaning and groaning like it’s a zoo! Worst gym by far in Wolverhampton, I would say take up a free trial or day passes and experience it first before signing up. It’s a joke! Actually beyond a joke!

Positive experience: Bigger than the puregyms down south, loved the size of the functional fitness area. But again... like with most puregyms, most people too lazy to put their weights back. Never understand it...

Fantastic experience: It's good place to work out

Negative experience: Anyone looking to sign up to this gym be aware of the narcissist’s that workout here if that’s what they call it. The gym is limited to things like benches and barbells but doesn’t stop certain people using two things at a time as their time is more important. Leaving their gym towels on the only benches available and wondering off to talk to mates or causally working out elsewhere. If you can provide the stand up for yourself attitude go for it if you can’t then move along to a more friendlier gym! Management pick and choose when they wanna do something overall better gyms out there with much better compliance and safety.

Negative experience: Training at puregym wolves south in my opinion isn’t the best gym it’s an ok gym for beginners the have everything that you need with the treadmills stair master also the good thing about this gym is bigger and there’s free weights and plat loading equipment area whilst some of the staff are not all friendly which is an not ok mix as I like keep my self to myself the good thing about the puregym that it has a verity of classes so far pure gym is an ok gym to train at.but reasons why I gave 2 stars because certain types of staff aren’t that freindly and seemed very cocky at times and was telling me to lift 100k on a resistance cables so I would train at puregym as long as certain staff don’t take advantage of me . Thank you

Negative experience: I have had my airpods stolen from me while doing my workout and they wouldn’t even check cctv. As well as this staff are extremely rude and have favouritism between certain members

Fantastic experience: A great experience a true regimen for a happy, healthy and fit lifestyle.

Negative experience: I had a free trial, why not? But the machines were smelly, the drinks refill machine is extra paying members only, and I got stares I've never had at other gyms, everyone seemed to have the same rundown pessimistic thought, it was the most strangest experience. Something broke in the changing room between me going in and returning. I definitely wouldn't pay for it.

Negative experience: I have recently joined this gym, I am very concerned about the lockers in the changing rooms, most do not lock safely, I have to go through and choose a safe locker as most of the lock mechanism are either broken, bent or will not lock. When i was in there the other day, I used my padlock and ensured the lock was firmly in place, after a shower I came back out and when I went to open the padlock, the locker just opened itself with the padlock still being intact. There were no staff present as it was early morning. It just makes me really doubt the safety and quality of the lockers as most people, leave their car keys, mobiles and wallets in these lockers. I have posted the review for the management team to review the quality of these lockers. Opportunist thieves will certainly be happy with this. I am sure Pure Gym will say that security is their priority, however reading some reviews on here and seeing damaged and broken lockers does not give me much confidence. This is now making me consider leaving as I feel my possessions are unsafe in the changing rooms.

Positive experience: Always something that doesnt work. This week the mens changing room hand dryer doesnt work so i dry my hands in my clothes.

Positive experience: Always loved coming to this gym, however the lack of aircon makes temperature conditions unbearable. In recent weeks old machines have been replaced with new models which do not have built in fans. All the cardio machines have been moved up stairs which has a low ceiling & limited aircon which makes air quality very poor to exercise in. The humidity hits you as you walk up the stairs. You can see people struggling on the machines, not working out to the best of their ability due to lack of air. Have staff completed an hour session upstairs to experience these conditions?

Positive experience: Pick your time! I went at 05:30 and it was great - vast gym with plenty of good kit, 20-30 people quietly getting on with exercise. I also went at 18:30 and it was like the Tower of Babel: same vast gym, same good kit but impossible to get on anything - literally hundreds of people, including gangs of skinny school-age boys trying to lift stupid weights to impress their mates. I was booked in for a 19:15 spin class, but after hearing the previous instructor bragging that he was the fittest person in the class and intimidating people to push themselves too hard, I legged it...

Negative experience: I started coming into this gym as I have moved out. I started coming 3 weeks ago and the gym its really spacious with a variety of machines. The only thing tht I have noticed the gym is never clean, i usually go in the early morning around 7/8am and the equipment is all the time lying around and never get to see a tidy gym. I hope something will be get done as most of the staff is present there but dont really do much cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I just has a spin class with Kieron (Saturday 12.15 slot) at this gym ans easily the most outstanding spin instructor I have known in 20 years (and I have been to many gyms!). Worth the monthly fee alone for that Class with Kieron. Also thanks to his colleague Martin for being so encouraging. Otherwise a light airy very well equipped gym. Keep up good work. Ravi

Negative experience: Friendly atmosphere and good range of equipment. However it’s very cold the air con is way too high wasnt like that when I first started so think it’s an issue that they need to look at. I seen members working out in coats which isn’t ideal conditions to work out. The showers fluctuate between hot and cold and it’s freezing in the changing rooms and they stay on for about three seconds. Looks like they don’t want their clients to shower there

Negative experience: Since changing your classes to 45 minutes barely anyone attends. I think these need to be changed back to 30 minutes. I have attended a lot of times for the class to be cancelled due to not enough people, which wastes our time and money.

Fantastic experience: The staff are friendly and you can also hire a personal trainer if needed it's open 24 hrs a day and the classes are included in your membership

Negative experience: PureGym customer services said they only give promotional offers to selected members. My husband is offered a promotional offer when I enquired they told me nope you can’t have one! Is this not equality discrimination for their customers. Is this even lawful !?!

Negative experience: The gym equipment is good & staff are friendly but the women’s showers are absolutely disgusting. The smell is horrendous in there, the drains were all blocked. None of the showers worked I had to try 5 different showers all of which had the same issues, they were either boiling hot or freezing cold. They would only stay on for about 3 seconds so I had to keep pressing the button over and over again. Please sort this facility out PureGym as other than the changing rooms and showers, this is a decent gym.

Positive experience: !!!New kit has arrived!!! Finally the old worn out elliptical trainers have been replaced with new ones. The rowing machines have also been replaced, not sure they would have been at the top of my list, but they were done first. Hopefully the treadmills and bikes will be on the list soon. The age of the kit is starting to show, most of the elliptical trainers are broken and those which work, creak. There is an increase in the groups of kids, some of which are still in their school uniforms, who I doubt complies with the minimum age policy. The problem is that the train in large groups making it difficult to use the kit they occupy. I would also be concerned about the risk they pose to themselves, as I doubt they’ve had a proper induction, which may cause also issues with insurance policy. This cross trainer just fell apart whilst I was using it! Luckily I wasn’t hurt, but the equipment it in dire need of attention. I feel sorry for the staff, the ones I have spoken to are really nice, but they are forced to train their customer on substandard equipment. If one of their clients were to be injured, who would compensate them both?

Positive experience: Goood place to have a workout, friendly people, nice vibe, just need quicker repair on equipment.

Negative experience: This gym had a major overhaul some years ago and is now desperately in need of another. The lockers here are no longer fit for purpose, most are damaged. The machinery is in poor condition, there doesn't ever seem to be any preventative maintenance on it, something is only attended to after it breaks. There are much better alternatives within a short travelling distance.

Negative experience: No one re-racks their weights here. You will be lucky to find the weights you need for the free weight section. When you find them, they will be already attached to a bar on the floor in the corner. Got a good workout in so I’ll add a star.

Fantastic experience: If you are self confident to use gym equipments then PureGym is pure gold.

Fantastic experience: Been working out here for about 2 months now. The gym itself is perfect, with a lot of available space and equipment. Plenty of personal trainers in case someone needs one. The entrance is secure as only PIN holders can get it and out. The PureGym app also allows seeing how many people are in the building before deciding to go. COVID procedures are excellent for the company but not good for gym users. Most of the gym users will use the equipment and leave it. Overall extremely good experience, the staff is lovely and looking forward to staying here.

Negative experience: The manager is very good, the gym is clean but is spoiled by the clientele who don't return their weights, don't have the courtesy to ask before they take your weights and train in pairs but hog a bench each.

I have kept it a secret as long as possible. The classes are amazing, his very motivated and gives it 110% a word of warning you will get distroyed in his classes definitely highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: All the equipment you'd want, plenty of space, lots of classes to choose from, parking not usually a problem (not the case at a lot of gyms...I'm looking at you JD Gym!), excellent PTs and everyone friendly.

Negative experience: The gym set up was nice but staff there are not helpful. I asked them to show me round as per new customer and they refused. I really bad experience to me . I don't even know where to keep my gym bag not change. Other old customers are really helpful. No orientation at all. I want to cancel £4 unlimited water i paid because is not helpful.

Fantastic experience: Pure Gym is really the budget option whatever your fitness goals are and it has everything you need. Open 24 hours with easy parking. Very friendly staff on hand for advice and everyone made to feel welcome. A range of classes available including spin and a separate weights area. Plenty of cardio and resistance equipment available. Changing rooms are clean and there’s lockers for storage. Well laid out gym on two floors with space to workout in.
