Fantastic experience: Great gym that I'm a member of. Have had no issues with classes, parking, other members or getting a workout in. Like any popular gym, it has peak periods where can get busy and hard to get a bench/machine but rarely have had it too packed that I couldn't get a workout in at all, there's always free space around. Classes are fantastic too from their wonderful staff. Will continue to be a returning user, would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I ve just started, but I can definitely recommend this place to everyone interested as it is well equipped, you can choose for a personal trainer, friendly staff , clean and many others options.

Negative experience: Been a member here for approx 18 months, used to really enjoy it but it’s far too busy now, that’s when I go ‘off-peak times’. I never find staff helpful, it lately ALWAYS smells of BO/sweat, I get it’s a gym but hardly any cleaning insitu. Classes are okay, male staff are much better than female-led classes; felt like they didn’t want to be there and were just doing it cos they had to, especially the manager. For these reasons I am leaving as the gym has gone so downhill, saw a review that said “the gym is running itself” which is very true!

Positive experience: I do like this Pure gym. It's clean and everything works. The only downside is it's busy, TBH it could be normal but I only go to this gym. As much as it pains me if you are looking for a cheapish decent gym this one fits the bill.

Fantastic experience: The best gym I have ever attended. The classes are varied and keep you challenged. Easy to get booked onto a class unlike what I’ve experienced at other gyms, even if you’re on a waiting list you often get into the class. Professional, supportive, approachable staff, friendly gym attendees. I’m currently using one of their PT’s and I’m so grateful for their support and the weekly challenge of weights and machines that I’ve not felt confident to use before. Thank you to all the staff at this gym.

Fantastic experience: I really love Pure Gym at the Carlton Centre, especially the staff who make the experience so much better. I feel welcomed and part of the team, making many friends in the process. I always walk out with a smile on my face. As someone who felt terribly anxious and intimidated of the gym environment, within weeks I felt my confidence rising and now feel like a whole new person. Special thanks to Adam, Rory and Scott for being compassionate and supportive on a few bad days, Rhia and Nicole for fun classes and Lucy for grounding me at the end of the week with Yoga. Thoroughly recommend both the gym and the classes and hope that Pure Gym don't cancel anything!!

Positive experience: I go at 5am during the week and about 13.30 on a Friday. Saturday and Sunday about 08.00 - 09.00, these times are not too busy. It's not as big as the town centre version but if you go at the above times you will get on what you require.

Fantastic experience: Could kick myself for spending so much on another gym around the corner for exactly the same set up. This gym is so affordable, equipment always works, very clean, everyone is friendly, nobody is watching or judging you, it's really awesome. Showers could be a tad warmer, but it is a gym and not a health spa. Also the app is exceptional and has so much additional information that if you're shy to ask someone for help, it's right there.

Fantastic experience: Me and daughter come here pretty much daily now. Has everything you need. You can get free squash refill every 20min if you are a plus member.

Positive experience: I like the gym, there's a few quibbles like the leg extension machine being painful to use because of lack of adjustment where it sits on the shins rather than the top of the foot, ankle area. I used to be able extend 80% of the stack at my previous gym on the leg extension but with the pain being so profound on my shins I can barely do 40% on this machine. Showers need cleaning more regularly as well and the water temperature is luke warm at best and during the cold months this can be quiet a shock. The gym area is kept clean and tidy with plenty of space for free weights. I like the gym aside from some minor tweaks there isn't much wrong with it.

Fantastic experience: I am not going to the gym to be a muscle man just like to try and keep fit and maintain my weight. It is ideal for my needs and convenient before and after work !!

Positive experience: Equipment in really good condition. Great variety and not overcrowded. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is that I believe there is an improvement that can be made in what regards clearance and cleaning on and around the equipments

Negative experience: Would be a lovely gym if the staff enforced rules. Manager loves to slam weights on the floor for his session, ruining the gym atmosphere. Asked staff to address this and I’ve seen them do it in the past, however, it appears the rules differ for staff than customers. Very rude and unwelcoming staff with attitude

Positive experience: Been at the gym just over 4 months, positives are, parking, brand new gym, AC set correctly, booking system for classes is good and a lot of variation, membership fairly priced, good sized changing rooms, music not too loud. Negatives are seem to be letting too many people join to the point that it’s far too busy think there needs to be a waiting list now. Many occasions groups of young kids hanging around equipment on their phones sitting around staff should be encouraging them to use the gym correctly not for socialising. Everytime Iv seen people waiting for classes just be waiting infront of equipment they should be told to wait in the PT area if class is still running then that helps the flow of the gym. Last night there was a guy covered in paint and had his work gear on management noticed and didn’t say anything likewise I’ve seen ladies waiting for yoga be on equipment in sandals which again staff should remind and put a strict gym attire in place. Since joining I am yet to see someone wipe down the machines after use in fact I don’t even know where the sanitiser/whipes are. Can’t help but feel with the above feedback the gyms running itself at this point and other than the classes/pt sessions from staff don’t see what value the management are adding.

Negative experience: Extremely busy, showers cold and no hand sanitiser in the gym or soap in the female changing rooms. Staff stood around on their phones not engaging with members.

Negative experience: Had to leave early today due to the noise from 115kg free weight bar being dropped from shoulder press straight onto the floor and making members jump!! I was surprised to see it was Rory one of the gyms personal trainers!! He should set a better example and follow the gym rules of no weights dropping!! Also watched by Gym manager Scot!!

Positive experience: I enjoy this gym, but it has become ridiculously busy to the point where almost every piece of equipment has someone on it. This is the precise reason I left my last gym. Like I said in my review a month ago, you should either limit the number of people that can join and make a waiting list or make access to the gym require booking a slot.

Negative experience: Gym is brilliant, good equipment and great atmosphere, only reason for the 2 stars… the manager is very rude and sarcastic. Any problem or trying to help you get a blunt and patronising response. Which ruins the mood and can put a damper on workouts

Negative experience: It would have been more appropriate if the staff were trained to respect members in the gym, and if there is any issue, quietly talk to members and explain instead of shouting in front of everybody and embracing you and threatening you to suspend your account.

Negative experience: Terrible gym compared to other pure gyms. I have been a member at st marks pure gym for over 3 years but moved to the Carlton centre one because it’s closer to where I live. The gym is not very well heated so it’s always freezing in there which makes is very hard to regulate your body temperature especially if you have poor circulation as it’s difficult to lift weights when your hands are numb from the cold. The equipment is new, but lower quality, especially the treadmills, you can feel that there is no cushioning on the treadmill which makes running painful on your knees and shins. I used to run for over 20 mins at st marks but can only manage 5 minutes here because it hurts too much, which is terrible if your goal is cardio or weight loss. Do yourself a favour and sign up to st marks instead!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, really great choice of equipment some of which I haven’t seen in many other gyms, especially the racks in the middle for the compound exercises. Gyms need a lot of bars and racks as they’re so popular and this gym does it. It’s always nice to have additional extras, fuel station and charging point is always nice to have. Every time I’ve been it’s been cleaned to a very high standard, both equipment and changing rooms. On another note I’m little disappointed by the one star reviews, how can you review it when it’s not even open? It did state on the establishment when it opened. This gym definitely shouldn’t be overall 3.7 stars. If you take suggestions for additional equipment I’d love to see some parallel bars. Never seen them at a gym before and are great in combination with pull up bars.

Fantastic experience: My husband has been coming for about a week and has only positive things to say about it. Plenty of parking, plenty of space, all new machines and you don’t feel like you’re always waiting for one. He did however say there is no spray for wiping down equipment after use

Fantastic experience: A decent sized gym with plenty of equipment. Even when the gym has 50+ people, there is still room to move and equipment to use. There is ample parking and plenty of nearby shops.

Negative experience: Getting no answer . It's disgusting though Lincolnshirelive reported midst of August "puregym coming soon". What does that mean? But they didn't have the courtesy to answer as well. Even on twitter there is no answer. But there is hope. Even if the company doesn't answer Ive seen work is in progress since end of September. Maybe there is an answer now?
