Negative experience: There should be a 3hr free parking for the gym like all the other gyms. What do you expect us to pay every day we go to the gym?!?
Negative experience: I joined and quit in 1 week. The gym is very crowded even at 5am. The layout is really bizarre and there’s no place to stretch without being on top of someone else. They only have 4 treadmills which were always being used. Not sure why they have classes in a room without doors or a ceiling—incredibly loud to other gym goers. There is also a weird smell probably because of the construction. Only plus side was being able to cancel whenever.
Positive experience: I've been a regular member here since it opened end of 2015. There's a great selection of equipment but it has not changed much since then. ALL the equipment is very tired now and breaks a lot. There is sign's up saying there's going to be a refurb but even they've been up so long they're starting to look tired too!
Fantastic experience: Great gym.. I was only in Harrogate for a week, so it work perfect I could join for 7 days.. easy to register online, then access within 5min.
Positive experience: Parking situation isn’t amazing but the gym is good.
Negative experience: They started doing classes outside the 2 studious that they have, taking all the space including 2 squat racks and pull up bar. Every time I go now, they are taken and I have to wait for about an hour
Negative experience: First time visiting after joining up the week previous....can't even get in. No code scanner out the front, doors that won't open...guessing they don't like you going in after midnight

Negative experience: Would not recommend this pure gym in Harrogate at any cost or even for no charge at all! Rude blond man(Cleaner) very moody and unhelpful. Disgusting male changing room, super smelly and you can never find an employee in the gym in case of an emergency. First week and already regret the decision of joining! Will definitely not return for the month after.
Negative experience: Worn out and often disabled machines. Obnoxiously loud music. 70dB+ at 2am is completely unnecessary. Changing room stinks of urine most days.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this gym for over 4 years now (minus Covid). It can be quite busy at peak times and so equipment availability and space can be an issue. All the staff are amazing, including the PTs - very helpful, friendly and welcoming. James and Sam make a great team. Classes are professional and challenging and there's a good selection to choose from. The gym floor is always clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.
Negative experience: Hoardes of high school spice boys improperly using the equipment making it difficult at best to train. Not enough benches in the free weights section during peak times. Dumbells and weight plates are not left tidy or in any sort of order.
Negative experience: Good equipment and always open, but the atmosphere is horrible. Staff are never around and I have had two different occasions where I have to report other members due to feeling unsafe. I decided to leave in the end as I didn’t feel enough was done to make me feel safe.
Positive experience: It's a gym, nothing fancy but there's all the machines and classes you could want. The classes are included but not always at the time you would like.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym, pleasant environment, lots of exercise equipment and accessories. I would also like you to have a punching bag in the gym.
Positive experience: Good range of classes & equipment, and friendly instructors that help you get started. Downside is it can be very busy compared to smaller gyms which is slightly intimidating on your first arrival. Would highly recommend doing the get started class to find where everything is.

I'm very sorry to hear about these issues as we take our standards very seriously, we are always keen to receive feedback so we can improve our service. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: All good . Only men changing area too much all time bad smell. You can't stay just one minute. All toilets showers area too much smell. Uff too much dirty, you can't take breath normal. Very bad experience . It's all happening a while ago. These guys don't know or either they don't care.

Positive experience: Actually a very nice place to workout, abiet the layout of the equipment isn't thought out very well, for example placing pull up bars directly.under ducts meaning no possibly of muscle up on top...and having leg curl and leg extension machines on opposite sides of the gym floor...would be nice if the functional area wasn't mixed with the squat racks...I would give it 5 stars but the massive amount of kids allowed in there ruins it for me,the last thing I want after a hard day's work is to have to wait for children to get off the equipment I want to use, I have to wait too long for them because they hog machines and equipment and waste waaaaaay too long on their phones or chatting with friends in between sets..

Fantastic experience: Great gym for a good price, memberships ranging from as little as £10 a month. Ground floor contains changing rooms which have always been kept in a good condition other than the occasional lack of toilet roll in the loos! Downstairs is full of weight machines as well as a wide variety of free weights and open spaces often used for group classes. My favourite gym in the local area, especially for such a good membership price

Positive experience: Pretty standard PureGym, range of equipment, only thing that seemed to be broken was one of the main doors and most of the lockers. Showers was scalding hot, free trial of the sports water was a bonus!

Positive experience: It's fine. I'll be honest, I only go here because Gamburu closed down. It's ok, the equipment is in good condition and there's enough without having to wait too long but it just feels a little impersonal. Gamburu would ask after me and how my day was, puregym couldn't care less if I was there or not and the atmosphere reflects that.

Fantastic experience: Nice to be back at the gym. They've done an excellent job with relocating the machines for safety. Nice to see they have supplies to wipe the kit down after you're done. Hope they keep this after all the lockdown craziness is over.
Positive experience: Not really impressed, have been to better gyms but it's open and it's a gym! I'd prefer to see myself especially when doing a deadlift - where are the mirrors? Maybe there could be more than 1 leg press or extension or a proper calve machine, more weights set out better, hopefully newer & better taken care of machinery in the future? One thing that does stand out though - the spinning area looks amazing!!

The busyness does fluctuate throughout the day, and from day-to-day. We have implemented a section to the website and the app which informs our members how many people are in the gym at that time and a graph to show the previous busyness of the gym on certain dates for comparison which we have found has really helped our members plan their workouts! As we do not own the buildings for our gyms it is not always possible to extend the site itself. We are always looking to improve our facilities where possible and will regularly review our sites. If you would like to discuss the layout of your gym in more detail your Gym Manager will be more than happy to catch up with you on this. Positive experience: Liked it, plenty of kit, not as nice as the puregyms I frequent in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy, but they're brand new, so I can't really expect anything else. Some of the kit might be due replacement I thought, but still more than adequate to get a good workout.

Positive experience: PureGym may well offer showers but don't expect warm water. Despite informing a member of staff, calling member services (who refused to take my complaint) and contacting PureGym via Twitter twice (I was ignored), the problem continues. Poor member experience and worse customer service. Disappointing.

Negative experience: Overall good gym, you get what you pay for. One major downside is the lack of hot water in the showers, which has been ongoing for months now, not sure why it cant be properly fixed. Vending machines are also very on and off and rarely working properly. Sad really because it's one of the most expensive puregym's I've come across around here.

Positive experience: Good gym, lots of equipment and quality classes and very good personal trainers. Only downside to pureGym in harrogate is how busy it is as peak times. Sometimes you cannot train what you wish to as all the equipment is being used. Around 4pm is way too busy!

Positive experience: Expensive puregym for what you get, no additionals like boditrax or yanga water. Only a small amount of racks so can wait a while

As you are aware unfortunately the BodiTrax machine and Yanga Water are not available at this particular gym. It may be worth approaching the Gym Manager in regards to this issue as this can be dependant on member demand. We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any specific suggestions such as increased number of racks, or other equipment, please approach the gym manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. Fantastic experience: Good range of equipment. Great that it's open 24 hours, especially for people like my brother as he's autistic and prefers the quiet late night atmosphere. I only stopped going because my job was so physically demanding that my body was looking a bit too toned!

Fantastic experience: Handy, clean, excellent facilities
Negative experience: Would be a much more enjoyable gym to attend if the rude Red Head did not work there. The amount of times I have arrived and been made to feel so uncomfortable by her rude aggressive commentary and over heard her being absolutely vile to other members and members of staff. Will not be rejoining.
