Negative experience: Not as good as it used to be. Booked a table for a bar meal. No table available. Half the menu was not available. Food pricey for what you get (volume & quality). Disappointed.
Negative experience: Disappointed, attended a family wake and no sign of any service and felt like more like self catering which was very disappointing for a luxury hotel. Bar area smells of sewage and again service was absent and when they couldn’t give us change, we were told they are cashless. The setting and area are beautiful and the owners need to focus on better customer experience and we hope they continue to learn.
Positive experience: Great hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Would have easily got 5 stars but for the slightly off putting drain smell in the foyer and our room heating not being on when we arrived. Heating was speedily sorted...it would just have been nice for it to be warm when we arrived. Staff at breakfast went way beyond expectations...and always with a smile.
Positive experience: I was a little unsure what this place would be like as read some mixed reviews before going. Our stay was lovely! The hotel is in a beautiful setting and it felt like we really had escaped to a retreat. The staff were friendly & accommodating. We had treatments booked in the spa at two different times, when we arrived, the staff asked if we'd like to have our treatments together, which we were so grateful for. The spa is small but had everything we needed and very clean! The cocktails were great, wine/beer a little on the expensive side but the food we had was delicious and could tell that it was freshly cooked and home made. The room was lovely and cosy, heating on when we arrived. The only downside was the walls are thin and could hear the person next door snoring, also the fact there wasn't a fridge in the room. Other than that we were very satisfied with our stay.
Negative experience: Booked this hotel for the spa and gym,bit of shock when pool was closed and gym was so small. The room I was given was very nice but no remote for TV so I phoned reception to be told someone stole it the previous night and they would move me to a upgraded room but the room I was given was terrible,bed smelt of other people. All in all a really bad experience.
Fantastic experience: We came here for my sisters baby shower and it was absolutely gorgeous. The staff and service were amazing they were all very lovely and attentive. Such a gorgeous location! Beautiful inside and out. We had afternoon tea and it was all gorgeous and the food was amazing quality its so worth the money. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.
Fantastic experience: It was our second time staying at the Frensham Pond Hotel. Staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. The accommodation was clean & comfortable and the food was amazing. Big shout out to lovely Anna and Harsit on reception, very polite, helpful and welcoming. Also Aswin and Vanshakh so helpful during breakfast and dinner. Amazing massages from Jo and the events manager for organising my dad's 90th birthday. Thank you so much for ensuring we had the best short stay break !!
Positive experience: The hotel is surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings such as a forest, lake and small beach. It’s great for an escape from the city to unwind. Many good walking routes available. The staff are friendly and make an effort to accommodate you and ensure a pleasant stay. We were a bit disappointed by the pasta, it tasted sour because lemon had curdled the cheese sauce. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic experience: We had a garden room, ground floor and looking over the garden to the pond. Very quiet at night, luxury room. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. So happy with this part of the trip
Fantastic experience: Beautiful location for a little getaway. We came on a Pamper & Prosecco package which was a great deal. Very friendly staff both at the hotel and the spa. Good facilities, wonderful room, seating area by the pond was fabulous on a good weather day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be coming back.
Fantastic experience: The food was great, the staff were amazing. We have a grandson with various food allergies and the chef went out of his way to accommodate him, and produced a brilliant meal for him. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well appointed. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Positive experience: The staff are the most excellent people, can't do enough for you. The hotel is a bit dated, 1960 orange seats and sofas do not work in 2014, carpets are worn out but having said this, this is a transient hotel that is for mainly wedding parties that stay 1 or 2 nights. Excellent location, shame that people are only in and out and don't go and look at the wonderful wildlife around the ponds.
Negative experience: Beware, not a 4 star hotel! This hotel is being run on a low budget. I don’t often leave reviews but was so disappointed with my stay that I felt I had to. Poor customer service, not welcoming, no information given on checking in. Photos on website old and not reflective of reality. Breakfast all self service. Poor quality ingredients, hard and cold therefore inedible. Poor housekeeping, dirty glasses in corridor for duration of stay. No shower gel, had to go out to buy some. Expected this as standard in a supposedly 4 star hotel. Complained directly to hotel who initially promised to resolve my complaint but then failed to engage, reneging on this promise, ignoring all contact. Speaks volumes regarding the owners of this hotel.
Fantastic experience: I was really pleasantly surprised by this place, it exceeded my expectations. I've been to a lot of luxury spas, and no offense but I wasn't expecting much from here. It was still basic, but it was well kept, super clean and great value for money. I'd definitely go again for a quiet day to relax. We had afternoon tea as well, which was also very nice. There wasn't a menu for a selection of teas, which I would recommend they do.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Hotel. The staff made the experience extra special. Couldn't do enough to help. Superb location and food was delicious. The Bream was cooked to perfection. The room was comfortable and there are many great ideas to help lesson the impact on the environment. Housekeeping staff were great and super fast and efficient. Wonderful places to visit nearby the Sculpture park is a must....and a walk round Frensham little pond was lovely and there a good NT cafe there too. Hopefully get time to try the spa next time. Positive experience: Great location, very nice hotel inside and out, clean and tidy. The rooms are clean but only on par with a premier Inn or similar, with the bed being less than average. The restaurant was probably the most dissapointing part, with the food being poorly cooked, it tasted like a microwave meal, sorely disappointed considering the prices being charged here. Check your restaurant receipt VERY carefully, the prices seem to change and go up between the menu and the bill.

Fantastic experience: One of the best hotels I've stayed in. This 4☆ spa hotel is in a nice quiet location. The cleanliness, lovely food & service was second to none. The staff are so polite & intentive, without being a nuisance. The garden room we stayed in was so well equipped, clean & comfortable, with everything that you could want. Positive experience: The location is beautiful and the staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. We stayed in a garden room. It didn’t have freeview as described.(All the rooms’ tv’s are described as having freeview.) It was opposite the back of the spa and public areas and the air conditioning unit hummed constantly. There was a smell in the room which we traced back to damp around the fridge. It permeated all of our clothes.

Positive experience: Room was so noisy room 53. I think the plumbing is old or faulty there was a noise all night that kept us awake.rooms backing onto main road are noisy when windows are open. Greeted by a very moody receptionist which made the start of the vacation a bit uncomfortable. Food was good. Location is stunning and outside of hotel is very clean.inside outdated decor and carpet. If the room was not so noisy I'd return.

Negative experience: Wonderful location but the service is terrible. The process to order is unnecessarily laborious for the customer. The QR code shown on the tables, doesn't work (so please remove it!!) You have to order from the bar: but there are no menus outside and often items aren't available. So you have to go in, queue for the menus, go out to give them to your party, back in to queue again to give your order, then out again when you're told something is not available, back in to join the queue again to give the revised order, back out again when that's not available... At the end of all that typically one meal is missing (has happened 3 times now). The menu outside is also limited. But the view is stunning.

Negative experience: Visited whilst attending a nearby wedding Setting is simply stunning & our walk around the ponds was wonderful Garden room we were give was musty - felt like it hadn’t been used all winter Upgraded to a suite which was decent enough & staff were very helpful. The issue is in the detail - sink plug hole was stuck, one of the lamps didn’t work, soap box & no soap. The team were overwhelmed at breakfast & clearly hadn’t staffed up for the bank holiday weekend I would say is a two star hotel trying to be a 4 star. If you do want to be that please spend the money & staff up!!

Negative experience: I have been coming to the frensham pond hotel for many years.my stay has always been do memorable and always loved every moment. After going back 6 years I wanted to spend my birthday and enjoy the day.we live in Buckinghamshire and plenty of beautiful restaurant in Windsor and Marlow I could have chosen to go but I wanted come to the frensham pond...its place I love the surroundings and the hotel and than August we were going yo stay there for a week. Wow what a shock ...so disappointed and disgusting experience. The bar area not enough seating we had to sit upstairs it was dirty and run down...nothing to what I remember. We went to the dining area again dirty table...just didn't look clean .we ordered our food again disgusting my starter prawn cocktail was thrown on a plate bedding of green lettuce leafs and l loads of chilli powder in the sauce. My slice of bread was finger bread... rescued from the afternoon tea that a couple had left behind.. I am very observant...! Our dinner again spicy. I am indian and I really don't mind indian food..infact I love it...if I wanted indian style prawn cocktail I would have stayed at home. The hotel restaurant and Bar a big let down dirt...customer service OK nothing amazing. What a shame the location beautiful but hotel, food and customer service a big let down. Please please don't let this beautiful place and hotel go down under. I'm so disappointed and sad to the standards it's allowed to be in. I want be staying in August now. Carol.

Positive experience: In our search for a good roast, dining here today, tucked away in a serene setting, the restaurant exudes a retro charm, with the restaurant giving off a nostalgic feel of the 70s. Specifically there for the roast dinners, the kitchen's prowess shines brightly and complements to the Chef and team. My selection of the roast chicken was a revelation; the poultry was impeccably roasted to a golden perfection, its skin crisp to the touch, yet the meat inside remained tender and juicy. The chicken was lavishly draped in a creamy, rich gravy that was a masterful blend of depth and subtlety. This gravy, speckled with fine herbs and a hint of garlic, clung to the chicken lovingly, enhancing each bite with its velvety embrace. My wife's choice of roast beef was also on par. The beef was succulent and cooked to a precise medium-rare, its edges kissed by a smoky char that spoke of expert grilling. The slices were thick and indulgent, coated in a glossy, dark sauce that was the epitome of gravy. It boasted a complex layering — with whispers and hints of different flavors, all mingling to create a flavorful gravy so divine it demanded to be savored slowly. We even ordered extra bread so we could finish it off. While the overall dining experience was thoroughly delightful, it would be remiss not to mention a minor shortfall in the vegetable accompaniments that accompanied the roast dinners. The selection of greens, consisting of a modest spoonful of mixed peas and carrots along with a solitary piece of broccoli, felt somewhat underwhelming. For those who relish their vegetables as much as their meats, the portions and variety were slightly lacking. A more robust offering of chunky, hearty vegetables would have been preferred, adding not just to the heartiness of the meal but also providing a vibrant contrast to the rich, savory flavors of the meats. However, it's worth noting that the roast potatoes served were exemplary—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, they were a highlight of the meal. Additionally, the cauliflower cheese, though not typically our favorite dish, was surprisingly delightful. It was skillfully prepared, boasting a creamy, rich sauce that enveloped the tender cauliflower bites. The dish was infused with a robust cheese flavor that was bold without overpowering, showing the kitchen's adept handling of what can often be a (very) mundane side dish. Not as fluffy and airy as I expected it, but none the less, each spoonful was like capturing sunshine on a plate, refreshing the palate with its zesty liveliness. The apple and rhubarb crumble, on the other hand, was a comforting conclusion to my Wife's meal. The fruit was stewed to the point of just tender, their tartness a perfect foil to the sweet, crunchy topping. The crumble was a delightful contrast of textures, with the soft, warmly spiced fruit juxtaposed against the crumbly, butter-laden topping that crunched satisfyingly with each bite. Throughout our dining experience, Anton, our waiter, was the epitome of attentive service. His presence was discreet yet timely, ensuring that our every culinary need was met with a smile and expert care. His suggestions were spot-on, and his attention to detail did not go unnoticed, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. In all, a meal at Frensham Pond Hotel & Spa is a feast for the senses, where each dish is not just cooked, but almost crafted with care, and every flavor is an invitation to indulge in a little bit of culinary heaven. Positive experience: One night stay to visit Gilbert White's house & gardens. Then The Rural Life Living Museum the next day. The room was lovely and clean and a good size. Beautiful location in a nice quiet area. The hotel phoned us twice to see if we wanted to eat in the restaurant saying it was getting very busy and didn't want us to miss out. TBH I think it was just a sales pitch which put us off. We went to a lovely Indian restaurant 4 miles down the road Pipasha in Churt. The buffet breakfast was great, sadly the cooked breakfast was cold and it was taken back to the kitchen & replaced but I think they had probably just put it in the microwave to be reheated such a shame . Would we stay again yes.

Fantastic experience: Visited the spa midweek for a full day experience. Very good service from start to finish. Ash at hotel reception was lovely. The spa manager and her colleague in the spa were really helpful and very friendly. The treatments were very good and I feel it was value for money. Nice lunch is also included. Fantastic experience: We booked accommodation for two nights at weekend. The room was nice, clean and lovely warm. So comfy bed and this was the first hotel we had warm and nice water in the shower. Gorgeous environment, even early spring time. The food in the restaurant was freshly made and very well cooked. Thanks for the chef! Although the staff were short by reason,we had an excellent service. Breakfast was good,and we had everything we wanted. Thank you. We highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: It is only our first night so I cannot speak for the entire experience however we have seen our room, it was like having our own little annex we loved it! The location is beautiful and we are very much looking forward to a walk along the pond. Dinner.. we went to dinner on our first night and were so impressed, the place was very relaxed and quiet, Matthew was working the bar and restaurant alone this evening and we could not fault him, he was so attentive, not a single check back was missed and not even a 5 minute wait between each course (well done chefs also!), he was confident and kind, we had a lovely time and the food was superb. We are very much looking forward to tomorrow for our visit to the pond and spa.

Positive experience: A nice hotel by the lovely great pond. The rooms were lovely with comfortable beds, plenty of space, ample storage and well equipped bathroom. The rooms were clean and the staff were polite, albeit painfully slow especially in the bar.

Negative experience: Rooms were nice, but nothing special. It’s certainly overpriced. Nice quiet location though. Unfortunately I have to say that I’ve never experienced staff as rude as I experienced at the hotel. Check in staff were uninterested and clueless. Extremely rude. Had a phone call on Boxing Day asking if we wanted to eat in the restaurant during our say. I said we hadn’t decided yet and they hung up the phone! We did eat in the restaurant- regrettably. For a 4/5 star hotel you would expect the restaurant to be of similar standard. Unfortunately this is far from the case. Service was awful, staff that clearly do not want to be working there, and the quality of the food for the prices is embarrassing. Cold, stale, un edible food that and chef should be ashamed of sending out of his kitchen. Couldn’t ever recommend staying here unfortunately. Awful experience.
Fantastic experience: We were looking a walk close to somewhere with decent breakfast (I need a little motivation) and Frensham Pond Hotel & Spa has both. Looks like they've only recently opened their restaurant to non residents for breakfast which was perfect. There's a choice of continental breakfast including pastries, fruit and yogurt and also a full English buffet. I went for the whole lot - bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns. Tea, coffee and juice was available and the friendly staff couldn't have been more helpful. A great way to set us up for a fresh walk around the big pond.

Positive experience: Really nice hotel in an amazing location. Beautiful country walks on the doorstep. Was quiet when I stayed (early in the week) so breakfast was cooked to order instead of buffet, and was very good.

Positive experience: The customer service left more to be desired. Myself and my friends got a phone call the day before we arrived to ask if we wanted dinner on that day, then they rudely hung up the phone when we stated that we would be attending a wedding so we wouldn't need dinner. Food trays were left outside of rooms for which seemed like days. A few of my friends had issues checking in, where they were told that they hadn't paid for the room yet when they actually had. Breakfast also ends at 9:30am on a weekend, so I missed the breakfast I had paid for because I'm not an early bird. The rooms themselves seemed adequate, about what you would expect from a 3*+ hotel. As I was attending a wedding, which went on through the night, I was surprised to find the hotel doors were locked when I was told the bar was 24/7. Where I stayed, the door for the building was outside of the main hotel building so I found myself locked out of it. I couldn't seem to find any staff, either. Thankfully I only needed a place to crash after a wedding, otherwise I don't think I would have enjoyed my stay if it went on for any longer.
Fantastic experience: The hotel is in a beautiful tranquil location by Frensham Pond. Our room was incredibly comfortable and we had a fantastic nights sleep. We had an evening meal which was fantastic. We will definitely return. Thank you to all of hotel staff who made our stay so comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Lovely setting for the old hotel. Clean inside. Good size rooms,massive bed. Lovely shower. Breakfast was enough for first thing of the day. Staff were very helpful too. A nice stay was had here after a wedding just up the road.

Fantastic experience: Go there to eat out or have one of there delicious cream teas. The scones are really good. A huge portion too. All the food I have had there is very good. Prices are fair as well.
Positive experience: Garden room was very clean and wonderful view. Food abit dissappinting. The starter was salmon with avo wich was a 10/10 but the mains, rib eye i cannot recommend. Not 28 day aged as it was very tough and tasted as if microwaved. Cut away about 1/4 of the steak as was just to tough to eat. Starter was better than the mains at a 1/3 of the price.
Positive experience: 4 stars just because it's so remote that there is little phone signal, to be expected and welcomed on some occasions, but the hotel WiFi was also poor. On this occasion I was visiting for work and had to go out to hold a teams call, of I was planning to relax then it would be 6 stars. Great food, great service, excellent staff, very clean room and larger than expected.
Negative experience: I stayed here for work, gave lots of notice of dietary requirements and was left very disappointed, with the exception of breakfast on 2 out of 3 mornings which was lovely. I expected to have similar choices to the rest of the group but that wasn't the case. While everyone was enjoying tasty cakes/biscuits I was offered sorbet or nothing at all. It took until the 2nd day to have food corrected labelled and the choices were very limited. However the room was comfortable, clean although would benefit from a better desk/table to work at.
Positive experience: Had a nice, very relaxing overnight stay. Beautiful location, next to the pond, which makes for an enjoyable circular walk. Hotel room was generally nice, although the wall covering was a bit tatty and I wasn't completely convinced of the cleanliness of the carpet in the corners. Also, the corridors had lots of food trays left waiting for collection. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains great at blocking out light. The air conditioning was also very effective. The bathroom (shower room) was nice and clean, although I was very surprised by the lack of soft-close toilet seat. The included breakfast was plentiful. Seating either inside or out was available. There was the usual continental or cooked type of fayre available. They could do with getting another coffee machine, as you often had to wait to be able to use it. Overall, a very pleasant stay, in a lovely location. I'd give it a solid 7/10.
Fantastic experience: Room was really good, fairly modern, plenty of power points, nice bathroom, clean. So many hotel rooms are too hot, but climate controls in the room were really effective. Staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way. One of the breakfast staff offered to refill my water bottle with ice water to get me setup for the day as we left.

Negative experience: £120 lunch for 4. The mains arrived before the starters, the pizzas looked like school meal, chopped up square ham which is more suited to be for sandwich filling. The bbq baguette, had rivers of bbq sauce, 4 pieces of steak (fatty) and grilled with loads of cheese. It was food, but not something you’d expect to pay £120.
Fantastic experience: We didn't stay at the hotel- only visited the spa. My sister had a wonderful experience at the spa for her birthday with a group of friends and family. The spa facilities are lovely- really clean, a great array of treatments, sauna and steam room and a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were super attentive during the day, the treatments were excellent and the team really made it special. There was some confusion during the run up to the day around booking and payment (which could easily be rectified in the future)- so I would give it 4.5 stars due to that but on the day the team were wonderful

Fantastic experience: Stayed here 1 month ago. My second stay here. Pleasant staff. Small gym but had it to myself. Had an amazing salmon dish for dinner and lovely dessert (definitely one if the best hotel meals I've enjoyed in the UK).

Positive experience: Wonderful place right on the waters edge. Excellent food with perfect service. 2 things negative. Wine waiter needs to learn to open and air a decent red. And all the utilities sounds travel through the hotel.

Negative experience: Would not recommend - the price we payed to stay here and the communication after is shocking to say the least.. Stayed here for 2 nights in March as we was attending a wedding. Checked out got home and realised we had left a few items in the room, contacted the hotel immediately the same day we checked out and they responded they would forward on to the house keeping manager and would get back to us. Failed to get back to us, I had emailed 3 times and even called and was still being told the same thing. Nearly 3 weeks later Still No update on our belongings. I Have emailed again twice since and they are now failing to even email back.

I've checked with the housekeeping manager, and they've confirmed that your items were turned in to the lost and found. I've spoken to the manager of that department, and they've assured me that they'll be looking into this matter immediately. They'll be in touch with you as soon as they have an update. Fantastic experience: Stayed here now a couple of times. Fantastic location & the staff are always pleasant. Will stay again. Only one criticism is the hotel is looking a little tired but we can understand that with referbs being very expensive it's a tricky thing. We've not tried any of the facilities so can't comment.

Positive experience: A lovely hotel, tasty food and friendly service. We hired the Drake suite for the Prosecco Afternoon tea for a hen party and also for an activity afterwards. Mala responded quickly to my emails and on the day Drew was a fantastic help. I had stated in the emails that the room we hired had to be private from public viewing but unfortunately I found out on the day that the Drake suite was not, so we had to relocate for our activity. Thankfully Drew sorted it all out and the rooms above the spa were perfect. The only shame was that we had decorated the Drake suite so it would've been better to have all stayed in one room. Also for some reason the female toilets did not have sanitary bins so that was an issue for one of our guests and should be resolved ideally. Other than that, the day was a success and the bride had a fantastic time. The afternoon tea was delicious, especially the scones and they were able to make adjustments to the sandwiches to have no butter for one guest. I would be sure to visit again and recommend for event hire.

Fantastic experience: Having read the reviews I was in two minds whether to eat here. Was a Friday night and my fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce were great. The fish was so well cooked and moist. Chips great! Portion size chip-wise too big for me but ok for most. Partners pork belly was delicious she said. All in all good experience.

Fantastic experience: Sorry mistakenly clicked 3 * before. Lovely stay at this hotel from the receptionist checking us in to Dhruv making us espresso martini's at the bar. Came for my husband's birthday and the hotel made it very special. Restaurant food was excellent and they provided a lovely treat to mark the occasion with a dessert! Thank you.

Negative experience: Hi I am writing to you because I am very unhappy with this hotel I booked for 2 nights my first night we came for dinner and took 30mins for starters to come out and another 20mins for them to clear the table this is unacceptable reported it to reception which they did nothing about even though it was just 2 people in the restaurant and then we came to our room where we took shower and the drain was blocked with flooded the toilet afterwards our duvet had brown stuff on it which I am sending u an image of the spa is closed for today which doesn't say anywhere I am not happy to stay here for the night we spent alot of money absolute disappointment

Fantastic experience: We were given a 2 night stay for a Christmas present and we had a wonderful time.We stayed in a garden suite, which was lovely! The bed was large and comfy. I would suggest that there were some hooks to hang up our coats as it was a very wet Saturday. Breakfast was delicious both mornings. We had 3 hours in the spa on Saturday, which was very nice. But a little crowded towards the end with 8 people and only 6 loungers. I personally wouldn't pay £30pp for 3 hours but all in all we really enjoyed our stay and the staff were helpful and friendly. We will be back.Thank you!

Negative experience: Would not stay here again. Very disappointed with the whole stay. Bar staff not interested in actually serving drinks on the menu even though there only 4 people in the bar. Instead of wanting to make a cocktail I was asked to order an easier drink. Room was freezing and lock temperamental. Couldn’t get out of our room for ten minutes and was calling reception for help but no answer. When we finally got out of our room, no one was on reception and when someone did turn up they didn’t care that we were locked in and the fact we couldn’t get hold of anyone to help us. Also beware, after a party staying guests were encouraged to continue the party in the bar area which was very load with singing and shouting until 3.30am in the morning. No discouragement to keep it down for other guests staying in the hotel. Not the relaxing stay I was hoping for!

Positive experience: I stayed for 2 nights before Christmas, and found a gem of a place, the staff here genuinely cared about my stay, the room a delight, spacious, very comfortable bed, showering facilities that were thoughtfully decorated and with a delightful set of shampoo etc, close by a pond with views and vistas to delight everyone with a dog, or a need for exercise. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend.

Hotel check in was quick, the ladie who checked us in was so friendly and couldn't do more to be welcoming, even offered an upgraded room. We stayed in the private entrance garden suit. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and very quiet. It was a welcome change to see bottle waters already there and the fridge was lovely and cold to store our champagne. Ordered cocktails and the barman offered to bring them to our room. Dinner in the restaurant was so tasty and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast has lots of great choices and the view was stunning! Can honestly say we will be back for another night away. Please take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt, it doesn't even sound like the same hotel. Thank you again for making our stay wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Just got home.. this lived unto expectation and beyond.. staff are great rooms ate great the grounds are amazingly well kept even during the winter months.. food was great cocktails were great.. highly recommend this as we will defo be back to use the grounds and the pond in the summer.. Negative experience: The only reason i've given 1star is for the location, everything else was a huge disappointment! We had booked 2 nights to finish off our honeymoon and what we received for the cost was appalling! The room was old, dated and dirty, the bed sheets were stained, the carpets in the room were not meeting the wall flushly and the dust that was on the lamps and bed board were shocking! we also had a stand up radiator in the room that was broken. The service from the staff in the restaurant was non existent, we waited 20 mins to get the drinks we ordered but then the waiter made no apology, just plonked it on the table. The food was ok (if it was available as several items were not and with a minimal menu you didn't get much choice), but for a 4 star hotel we expected a lot better! The breakfast was a buffet, but it helps if it was kept warm, which this wasn't! We also booked an afternoon tea for the Saturday and it felt like the items had come from the local supermarket and not freshly made on site! Overall, shockingly poor and we will never recommend this hotel! Even our complaints on checking out were met with little response from the receptionist!

Fantastic experience: Very nice place. I stayed with my husband for one night. It was nice and clean, the dinner was amazing and the receptionist lady fabulous. Superb place can recommend to everyone.
Fantastic experience: We stayed in a garden suite which was lovely. Views across the pond with a drink from the bar was delightful. Many thanks to Nicole on reception who was an absolute star.
Negative experience: One expecting 4 star hotel to be modern and up to certain standards which Frensham Pond definitely isn't.. heavy old fashioned colours all around, unpleasant smell in corridors.. Customer service do not exist .. only positive aspect is a beautiful setting..
Negative experience: came for a night away with my partner, paid a fair amount for our garden room however it just got worse and worse as time went on. Booked for a spa stay and the spa isn’t open then was told we had to pay to even use the spa facilities (booking website stated it was part of our booking), went to the bar where it says 24 hour food and the kitchen was closed. got to our room and there was no room service menu (also 24 hour which we asked about and the receptionist said that it’s 24hr but there’s no chefs in til 5:30pm). settled in our room to find out there’s no wifi or signal at all, again we asked about this and the receptionist said that it’s being fixed the day we leave. overall very disappointed with the stay. i wont be recommending this to anyone
Fantastic experience: Only there 1 night for a wedding,but friendly staff, helpful,nice rooms , parking is a bit confusing?? There's meters all over ,then we find out if you stay you don't pay? They should let you know! We found out from a guest!
Negative experience: Charged double room rate for single occupancy with no breakfast for €359 x 2 nights. Food appauling, wine worse, staff had no customer service and no fridge in room. Would advise booking air b and b locally then booking this place and not a nice place to stop for lunch. Shame a area beautiful but drive by this place. b
Fantastic experience: Slow get served from bar went with two guests would let us move table together to sit with them but p aloud tables to be moved for others car parking great booking ok television in-room kept going off wfi not that good but lovely location
Fantastic experience: Excellent service and the rooms are of high quality with many individual amenities. I would highly recommend for a stay. A few slight niggles, the entrance is not clearly sign posted and google maps could be altered to redirect cars to the correct entrance as it currently leads you up a dead end road.
Negative experience: Nice ....but needs a clean well over rated !! For the price breakfast should be in the price very disappointing the breakfast...road side cafe much better !! Needs to have a complete over look Nice looking place from outside !! I'm still here another night is the downside!!

Fantastic experience: We had organised a midweek wedding at the venue and although there were 2 conferences on at the same time the staff were excellent. Food was great and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst the room used for the wedding venue looked a little 'tired' the decorations and service provided certainly transformed it on the day. All of the staff were positive, proactive and helpful

Negative experience: Due to covid and having someone 8 months pregnant and poorly I had to cancel my booking. I was happy to reschdule but the hotel would not consider any form of rebooking. No manager to talk to or anyone to help. Customer service is not on this hotels mind, just money. Really disappointing
Fantastic experience: Lovely relaxing break in a lovely setting . Evening meal excellent, staff friendly. Garden room with a nice patio area to sit and watch the world go by .Looking forward to a return visit.
Fantastic experience: Stayed here whilst attending a wedding at another venue. The staff we're excellent and rooms immaculate. Excellent breakfast with varied choices great gym and lovely spa facilities. Lovely walk around the very large pond which took around 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. We will definitely stay again in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Positive experience: I liked the hotel and the food was astonishing. The Wi-Fi had very bad connection so it is quite hard to look up any nearby areas. The rooms were acceptable but the rooms for 4+ people not ‘deluxe’ are very small. The hotel has a walk around the great pond and you can see all the ducks and there is a half beach meaning that there is a huge sandy area in front of the pond. They had continuous music playing through the hotel and it was very bad repeating Muzak. Otherwise, the Hotel in general is quite good.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic environment for having a delicious lunch. Quiet, nice table and friend staff. We went only to celebrate my husband's birthday, he had an incredible time.
Positive experience: Having walked from Frensham great pond, around it's perimeter, The hotel was a welcome watering hole. They garden across the road over a small bridge was lovely. Weather, perfect sunshine and hot and a great view across the pond. Drinks for two was just less than £10 but worth it for the location... definitely a stop the next time we ramble the area.
Fantastic experience: We were guests at a wedding which was held here, a stunning location - especially in the sun with the pond across the road. The venue itself was clean and smart and the food was delicious. As wedding guests, we had access to a large outside balcony which was great photos and some top backgrounds for selfie photos! The service was great with plenty of staff on hand, we had such a great time here that it felt like we were on a mini holiday. We'll.be heading back here again for sure!
Fantastic experience: Very nice and well-run hotel in a gorgeous location - so tranquil. The (quality) room furnishings and architecture are of an era, but it is none the worse for that. Very pleasant stay. Camden Beer battered fish and chips were superb!
Fantastic experience: Had the most amazing birthday weekend here. Staff so friendly, the garden room was lovely and big with our own balcony. The only downfall was the very loud party at breakfast. No need for so much noise on a sunday morning in a quiet location. We could not not hear ourselves talk. Staff should ask them to have respect for other guests....will defo come again though.
