Positive experience: Not enough inductions and too busy sometimes

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. Fantastic experience: Really good gym with top tier equipment, amazing staff and PTs. Also very friendly and professional environment. Not too messy of a gym and always kept clean and tidy. Also a very big variation of classes.

Positive experience: Good amount of equipment. Peak times you will struggle to have a smooth session without having to wait a while for certain machines/weights. Friendly enough atmosphere and nobody gives you any bother.

Fantastic experience: I have been inspired to keep turning up at the gym by Luke Bowes. I do his classes twice a week. He is a Fantastic coach in classes bringing his skills to do things properly in class and having banter in the class. Music is great to our movements too. Thanks Luke

Fantastic experience: Loving the gym here, very friendly staff. Lewis is a great PT as well. Can get busy at times but always something that can be used. Clean too

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to the gym since it opened and I don't think I have ever been to a gym that is more friendly, welcoming and fun. I started out coming to classes and I really enjoy Friday morning Sweat 45 (used to be Bootcamp) with Ashley French, his classes are challenging in just the right way and a lot of fun (please don't change the timetable again... we love this class). It is this class that kept me coming back in the early days. The best thing is the community that has formed around Ash's classes.. such a great group of people who like to laugh as hard as they work out. I now also have PT with Ashley and this has helped my confidence grow on the gym floor and I am loving training and feel the benefits mentally as well as physically. Huge thanks to all the staff at Pure Gym WB and especially to Ash.

Fantastic experience: I have never liked the gym. Signed up many times and just paid the membership and found every excuse not to go. This time, I decided to get a PT. I am heading into my 5th week and loving it. I enjoy the routine and the support is fantastic. The gym is a friendly place and I actually feel confident going in now. I highly recommend. Great location with great parking. The PT I am using is Ashley French. I can not recommend him enough.

Negative experience: Great Gym, as I've posted before, BUT...an issue that is becoming problematic and is not being dealt with by management is the number of users sitting on the equipment whilst scrolling/messaging on their phones for long periods of time. At times all the benches in the free weights area are occupied with customers reading their phones...I've seen it on a regular basis When asked if they will be much longer I've even been told " oh I've finished mate" Ha ha! Not their fault if they are not being encouraged by the gym to have regard for other users. I'd be interested to know mangements stance on this. Fantastic experience: I joined PureGym September last year and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! The facility is top-notch, with great equipment and a welcoming environment. Working with Tom Mellors, one of the PT’s at the gym has been an absolute game-changer for me! His expertise, encouragement, and personalized approach changed my mindset completely. His passion for fitness is contagious(!!), and constant support has kept me motivated even on the toughest days. I can’t thank him enough. If you’re looking for a personal trainer who truly cares about your success, look no further. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: I paid for the full month(entire March)- attended a few times… was going to go yesterday and my gym membership has been cancelled!!!! Why? No pure gym phone number… so I emailed them, Facebook messaged them and 24hours later- no reply!!!!!!! Communication needs to be improved I am very disappointed… the facilities are ok but if you cancel my membership and then I can’t use them. I am awaiting a reply from them… if this gets rectified quickly then I will revisit this review Update- Puregym contacted me on Facebook around 24 hours later. The gun membership was cancelled due to an issue with direct debit. Had they of sent me a message I could have easily rectified it and had access on the above days rather than an instant cancellation. I quick phone call would have been optimum. Refund given for unused amount.

Fantastic experience: Been using gyms since the 70s, yes I'm old,but still I love to train. This is a really good gym at a good price, plenty of equipment but can be crowded at times. This is not a problem for me as I train all body, all the time, so I simply choose to train continuously on whatever is available. Would recommend.

Positive experience: Nice modern gym, well maintained vs others from the same brand, good classes/ nicely timed. Peak times on evenings (particularly Monday and Tuesday around 5.30-7.30) the gym gets so busy you struggle to get on anything you want, also parking is a bit of a nightmare in the same periods. All in all, I’d say it’s a great gym and has filled a void vs all the other higher priced gyms in the area, hence it gets too busy as I guess a lot of other people think the same.

Fantastic experience: Amazing instructors who really push you to work hard and some great classes- especially when Ashley French is in charge. I do worry that the new format of classes will make things a bit boring after a while- we like to be challenged and have a variety of exercises rather than know exactly what’s coming because we’ve done it twice already that week in other classes. Also please bring back boot camp on Friday mornings! Edit: can’t seem to do another post but wanted to say thank you for bringing boot camp back on Fridays. It has been awesome. Great to know you listen to member feedback

Fantastic experience: Great gym and I have been to many. Great range of equipment, spacious, clean, not too noisy. Space between equipment. Multiple options so do not get stuck for one machine queuing. Two floors. Top floor has quieter area for core or stretching and studio. Downstairs is machines, racks, cardio machines: including running, hill climb, bikes, cross country. Could not say what more it needs. You can park for longer putting your registration on touchscreen inside. Did not do a class but they seemed very popular. Top gym.

Positive experience: Very clean, great new equipment, nice showers, loos. I liked the defribulator safety unit, the duty gym managers place overseeing things. Vibrant atmosphere and busy. Why wouldn't it be at prices starting £30 at month, great value. My only gripe is parking shared with shopper's going to nearby Aldi and a 2 hour limit, but apparently the gym have a way to extend that, not going to tell me when just visiting. The extra benefit, kill two birds with one stone with shopping after at a big Lidl and an Aldi about to open, plus a donut shop and chip shop/ restaurant, so you can quickly restore all those calories you just burnt off! Lol

Positive experience: A nice place with nice people plenty of stations and free weights but choose your time. For the size of the gym the changing facilities are very small.

Negative experience: I rated the gym with 2 stars due to prolonged issues with broken fitness equipment that remain unfixed for over two months, significantly impacting the workout experience. Additionally, the absence of Wi-Fi and poor 5G/4G signals inside the gym hinders connectivity, necessitating urgent improvements for a more satisfactory user experience.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of the gym for a couple of months now and its perfect for my needs. Pricing is very good and the app tells me how many people are in so I can organise to go at quieter times. The place is always clean but can get busy at peak times so I recommend checking the app before you go. Basically stay away between 6-8pm Monday to Thursday and you enjoy the experience more.

Fantastic experience: Usually go after 7pm and it's not too busy. You get a few machines vacant at this time. Good atmosphere and the staff are always around and helpful. Classes look well attended and need to be booked in advance I think. Changing rooms are clean as is all equipment. There is parking but it's on a retail park as well. If uou expect to be more than 2 hours in the gym remember to log your car reg so you don't get s ticket. I really like the flavoured water machine as well.

Positive experience: Great gym, great staff and great environment. The only couple of things that let’s this gym down is space/not enough machines compared to other Puregyms I’ve been to/ it not 24/7 and also not being able to bring a gym bag to the gym floor.

Positive experience: Went with my daughter. I'm a member at Rioko and just wanted to see what it was like . Went at around 6pm ,so you can imagine what it was like . All the machines are basically the same as Roko,but unfortunately no watt bikes . . Very clean as it's only been open a couple of months or so . Only about 6 showers ,but luckily got one . Probably better to go morning times when it's a bit quieter to get a better routine . Must admit . It's a third of the price of Roko, so if you're on a budget,it's a great place for training. Try to avoid the busy times if you can tho

Fantastic experience: Assistant manager is very helpful and supportive. Explained how to access the gym building, the different options and benefits for membership, how to book a class, showed me the location of the class timetable and the studio and reminded me to bring £2 fir the class teacher. So my first visit and fitness class was a breeze. Have booked 3 classes for the next two weeks.

Negative experience: Get made to feel like you shouldn't be there unless you look like a bodybuilder or have a body of a glamour model. My partner was made to feel guilty for trying to get her self fit by to woman who had a dig at her for her weight but when we asked the staff to help they just laughed and said some people and walked away. Unless you fit in don't bother

Negative experience: I took the time to write to Puregym West Bridgford about the security issues with their cycle parking area on 22nd April and again on 25th April. This was a constructive email requesting engagement to address the big issue of cycle thefts at the West Bridgford Puregym location. They have failed to respond to either of my emails so for this I have had to score you just a 1 star. This is a shame because your gyms and gym equipment I do usually rate.

Here at PureGym, we do advise that when attending the gym, members are responsible for their own belongings. Whilst we understand your frustration in regard to this matter Members are solely responsible for their own belongings when visiting PureGym. PureGym accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to property. We are more than happy to assist with a police investigation! Due to data protection laws we can't pass details to you, the police will contact us directly once you have filed the report and we will be able to pass details and relevant CCTV footage to them. Fantastic experience: Clean, friendly, fairly spacious, and plenty of new kit. However it's a shame that you only get two hours parking with no option to extend your stay and the gym isn't open 24/7 like most other PureGyms. Overall, great for everyone.

Positive experience: Went with 2 other people and had to ask for assistance. Hit the button and the manager was there shortly after, and was very helpful. Filled out the information and purchased day passes for us all. This puregym utilizes the space a lot better than other ones I have been to. However, I must say, they need more flat benches. There is only one regular flat bench with the rack. Everything else was like a typical puregym, kind of crowded, but you get what you pay for with commercial gyms. Changing rooms were clean and tidy. Overall good experience, and would recommend, especially for new gym-goers or those with mixed schedules because it's open 24/7. After a while, you will probably want to upgrade to a more private gym.

Positive experience: Good equipment, even when busy you can normally at least get on something. Parking is difficult at peak times and the male toilets are a bit gross but it's a good gym. Got a good studio

Fantastic experience: Good for classes. Very busy gym but has a good atmosphere. Lots of people here that are very into the weights. Good spin classes with lots of variety between instructors and styles to keep things fresh

Positive experience: Good variety of machines but not well organised, you can find legs machine next to it chest machine next to it biceps machine … Why not a legs machine in a place , chest machines in a place ext…The staffs in there acting like super stars except one or two! I think they work on more on there communication skills coz they present PUREGYM wich is big a name now.

Positive experience: Good location, plenty of parking. Can get very busy depending on which times you go. Some of the cardio equipment could be more simpler to use.

Positive experience: Really nice gym, huge space and massive range of really modern equipment. Loads of racks and benches. Does get VERY busy at peak times but this is to be expected, never waited more than a few mins for equipment apart from some machines there are only 1 of it was sometimes a struggle. Parking can sometimes be hard at this time but not the fault of the gym. Really friendly staff and super easy to sign up and cancel. Showers were sometimes a bit grimy/smelly but not awful.

Negative experience: Positive; Good gym facilities, nice people all around the gym and staff are excellent. Good location and parking, etc Negative; I understand some people just go home to have a shower but if you are like me a morning person, go to gym in the morning before work then you need to have a shower. The shower area is really dirty and stinks, I have joint this place right from day one, it wasn’t like that at the beginning , regular cleaning is absolutely essential. I hope management take this issue in to account and provide some extra cleaning hours to the shower area.
Fantastic experience: In the Gym yesterday and wanting to shower before going to work but forgot my shower gel. A member of staff, Ashley French, showed a simple act of kindness to me and lent me his. I have heard many of my patients speak highly of Ashley and the classes he runs. Negative experience: It's obviously very care that Puregym now feel they are too big to listen to customer feedback and complaint. As the famous saying goes pride comes before a big fall and It's only a matter of time before that happens. The Westbridgford Puregym has been open for over 3 months now and still no customer Wi-Fi and proper air conditioning. However the staff room has air conditioning and only gym Wi-Fi for staff members. One would have thought you'd prioritise customers on every level and ensure there is Wi-Fi for customers considering there's very poor signal at the gym.

Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this. Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Negative experience: Signed up and left after one day. Not 24/7 like every other PureGym and was told I'm not allowed to carry a bag around with me, which has all my bands, phone, water bottle, towel and other bits. Was told I would have to just carry these around the gym.

Negative experience: I encountered a person who needed help to get off and on the machines and no personal trainer was there to help. I helped all I could and all of a sudden a worker crossed by and did not bother to offer help to them. So the person told them that I was a huge help, unlike them and the trainer was like " why is that??" to the person and then they looked at me for a moment and they said that they were gonna go now! WITHOUT APOLOGISING TO THE MAN! The workers see people doing exercises wrong and dont correct them. The shower rooms, the sinks, the floor and exercise mats are disgusting. I once was near the entrance of the gym and a person outside needed to talk to a worker and asked me to call them, and so I did and you know what they told me? " oh im not working now"... so as long as they are during their shift they will be interest to help because they get paid..

Fantastic experience: First gym I've been to in many years! Great to see how much gym equipment as changed and upgraded. The gym has got a huge variety of different equipment and multiple pieces of the really popular equipment. Loads of classes which are part of the gym membership price, I can highly recommend the spin class with Ash! The gym is really clean and tidy, very often you see members of the team cleaning the equipment. All members of the team seem really helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time joining a gym, so I felt a little nervous. I went in the morning and it wasn't too busy. I found their app really useful because I could view all the equipment before attending and also watch video tutorials. The app includes other features too! Like a workout planner, achievements, workout time and workout videos. The gym itself is nice, really open with plenty of space, equipment is good too and staff are friendly. I also love the sports water! Membership prices are good value too with great joining offers.

Positive experience: I love the gym, the layout and the equipment. The 4 deadlifting platforms are great as most Pure Gyms only have 1. The open hex/trap bar is fantastic too! I wanted to give 5 stars but the opening hours are rubbish! The best thing about other Pure Gyms is that you can go in the middle of the night when it’s really quiet! Surely you could open later??

Negative experience: My wife wanted to attend the gym however they changed closing time from midnight to 10pm without any notification. She got charged £27 and never actually went there as she can't now due to shorter hours. They don't even have enough decency to refund that money! You now made sure thay I will stay with Rushcliffe Arena and will never join your gym!

Negative experience: I joined Nottingham West Bridgford Pure Gym in April before it actually opened. I based my decision to join this one specifically as it's very close to my house and most importantly because it was supposed be open till midnight every day. I finish work at 10pm so gym being opened till midnight was the only reason why I decided to join. I also checked many times that it is indeed going to be open until midnight and according to Pure Gym's info flyers and their website this was guaranteed. When the day came when I wanted to go to the gym after they had opened, I was very unpleasantly surprised to find out that the gym in West Bridgford is closing at 10pm!!! When I checked their website I received two very different info on that matter. One said that the gym is going to be open until 10pm but after I scrolled down it said that between 22:00-24:00 are unstaffed hours but the gym is still going to be open. I also received email from Pure Gym about staying safe while working out during unstaffed hours. Obviously customer service wasn't helpful at all. Apparently they had some CCTV issues however they got it already resolved - what still didn't change closing time at 10pm! They clearly didn't even read my emails properly as I highlighted I um unable to go to gym before 10pm! And they came back saying everything is great now and you can enjoy the gym by 10pm... No comments! I must say that I am extremely unhappy with this situation as I had already paid admin fees and the 1st month totalling to around £27 and it turned out I've never used the gym and won't be able to! I am a working mum so after WORK (10pm onwards) is the only time when I can go to the gym. On top of that they don't want to refund my money! Absolute RIP OFF! They change the terms without any notification and it goes unpunished! I will be contacting trading standards as it's a scam!

Positive experience: Overall pretty good. It is clean and the kit is kept clean through regular cleaning. It's busy but other gym users are very friendly. Staff also approachable. Lots of kit. I'd surprised if they could get any more in. It is really busy at peak times. If you are keen to train you will find a way to change your training programme and change things up. Really like training here. Have heard the gripe about it not being 24 hours if you want that sign up to use extra gyms. Handy when you're away too
