Snap Fitness Taunton

Positive experience: I have been a member of Snap Fitness Taunton for a few months now, and I have had a mostly positive experience. The gym is clean and well-maintained, with a good range of equipment for a full-body workout. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the 24/7 access is convenient for my schedule. The atmosphere is welcoming and not too crowded, even during peak hours. The only suggestion I would make is ventilation, especially during peak hours Overall, I highly recommend Snap Fitness Taunton to anyone looking for a convenient and well-equipped gym in the area.

Positive experience: The staff are always very friendly and have gone out of their way to help me. The gym itself is just ok. There's plenty of cardio and resistance machines. The clientele are not great at picking up after themselves (not putting plates back etc) and the toilet is often very messy. I see staff cleaning the toilets so I think it's a usage issue. The clientele is generally quite young and don't treat the place with as much respect as they probably should. That being said this gym is better than the other 24h gym in Taunton.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym,i joined when it first opened,life has never been the same, i come here 4-5 times a week, excellent staff,all very professional friendly and helpful.the machines/equipments are all up to date! I love this community,will never move anywhwre else.this place has changed my life and physique and my habits!Gym is a healthy place and so good to see more people are using it!

Negative experience: Rude employees not professional at all when i tried to cancel my membership they did not let me and said i had months in arrears and by looking from the rest of the comments it didn’t happen just to me at the end i had to pay 3 months of gym membership which i did not use and i didn’t have the best gym experience as the gym was crowded most of the times which made me wait for a lot of people to finish training on machines overall don’t recommend this gym stay away if you don’t want to be scammed into paying 3+ months when cancelling your membership

Negative experience: Last visited this place just over a year ago when i was 16 . Was a excellent gym i will say and good equiptment but was happy paying 10 odd quid a time going as i was working in taunton at the time so was useful . Then the receptionist talked me into signing up for some student membership which i was told i could cancel at anytime. Didnt even use the pass for about 2 days after as was working somewhere else and then found out i would be working at the other place permenantly . So i went into snap fitness and asked if i could cancel as essentially moving away with work and was a pain to travel. Bearing in mind i was 16 living with parents and had barely enough money to make it in they wanted loads of proof of moving even though i had no way of proving it and a letter from my boss explaining just wasnt enough apparently. Then i had to pay a £170 cancellation and wasnt allowed to use the pass no more.

Negative experience: Wanted to cancel my membership, was told over the phone that I need to make the months payment to get out of arrears in order to cancel. I made the payment. The following month I’m charged again. I’m then told I needed to NOTIFY them of the payment I made at the time of making it in order to have had my membership cancelled. Nobody told me I had to do this and no email was sent to me to say this? What type of gym isn’t notified of this stuff? Overall just stay away. Very disappointed in the lack of organisation and the lack of communication from staff. It’s not fair just taking money from people.

Negative experience: horrific experience, im trapped in a membership i have repeatedly begged to be released from. still refusing to cancel my membership because im in arrears. i have literally never been in the gym because they are closed when im off work and couldn't gain access. I've paid about three months for nothing and am still not allowed to leave.

Fantastic experience: I find this to be a nice gym that is kept clean and tidy, and has all the equipment and machines I need for a good workout. The staff are helpful, friendly and approachable. The classes provided are also very good with a nice variety available with something to suit most people, and are lead by enthusiastic instructors. Only gripe would be the parking which is a little limited during the day, but after 18:00 the adjacent public car park is free so by timing your visit parking isn’t an issue.

The staff are very friendly, always up for a laugh and have always been very helpful and prompt in dealing with any issues I have taken to them and are always polite too. Very Clean and tidy gym and the staff are on top of moving weights etc, that some members think is okay to leave about!

Negative experience: Too much drug use. I know it's a gym and all but they have no security towards it and it's quite unsettling.

Negative experience: NEVER USE THIS GYM Sure, they're nice enough, but my god if you ever try to cancel your membership god help you! They bend the law so much you think they'd've been shut down by now. I've been trying for 4 months now just to cancel but they keep coming up with reasons like wrong form, or incorrect form. Then there's notice periods and small print. They've clearly created this process deliberately to extract as much money out of you as possible. READ THE SMALL PRINT.

Negative experience: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER I cancelled with them previously, but they managed to worm 3 extra months out of me through shady and slow admin practices. I thought this might be just a bad experience, but now when dealing with Nancy yet again some years later and trying to cancel, it is clear they are trained to steel your money and slow the cancelation process as much as possible.

Negative experience: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERY INTERACTION ABOUT YOUR MEMBERSHIP RECORDED OR DONE THROUGH A DIGITAL TRAIL (EMAIL). One of my worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I paid for two years of a membership I never used. This was due to a car crash which I told them over the phone. Over the duration of this time, I spoke to multiple staff and was even told at one point that my membership would be cancelled as I was unable to myself. Some time later I realised and contacted them, eventually speaking to the manager. I received no help whatsoever, and the manager said there was nothing on my notes so was unable to dispute my refund. I even offered medical evidence, as stated on the membership terms and conditions but the manager refused to acknowledge (due to notes, staff notes!)... Disgraceful! Untrained staff who do not write notes of evidence within calls. A manager who is blunt and unwilling to listen. The nerve to still send me promotions after dreadful service. Inaccurate recordings. I have now joined Nuffield health (family & friends deal). I am paying less and my experience is significantly better. Avoid this gym at all costs if you appreciate quality customer service.

Negative experience: Gym is pretty standard, price is extortionate compared to other Gyms. I've recently cancelled my membership but they are trying to squeeze me for a year's membership but I don't pander to bullies. If you are thinking of joining a gym choose PureGym they are half the price with no contracts and the Gyms are a lot better. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone ever. With the rising cost of living crisis you'd think they would be at least a little understanding and either lower the price to match PureGym or just allow people to cancel their membership without trying to bully them into paying for something they don't want and can't afford... Save your money, stress and time just join PureGym instead !!!!

Positive experience: I checked on-line for central gyms that offered casual or short-term membership, as I was only in Taunton for a few weeks of work. My call was answered by a bright but overly-chatty young lady, who arranged to sell me a month's membership the next evening. We duly met up, and paying for the deal went pretty smoothly by credit card. It's not a big gym, and all the machines and benches are usually occupied between 6 and 7.30, but become available after that. A great selling point is the individual, smart changing/ shower rooms, and these almost give this gym four stars, along with its 24 hour availability. But it's let down by there being only one of any weight machine, and not enough cable stations--always in use. But it earns at least three and a half stars...

Negative experience: Partner rang in to try and get some quotes for a 6 and 12 month membership, they kept asking irrelevant questions such as her job, and finally insisted she comes in as they couldn't give her a quote over the phone. Should be as easy as getting a price and signing up. Not surprised reading other reviews about people finding it difficult to cancel their membership.

Negative experience: I am totally disgusted with customer service. I sent the Taunton snapfitness an email notifying that I wanted my membership cancelled in June 2020(so that by July 2020 it would be cancelled). When the gym reopened in July 2020 after lockdown and I went to cancel it in person no option was given to me to stop the August 2020 payment despite my very clear email stating I wanted to cancel my membership in June, to me this is taking total advantage of your customers. It is indecent to not offer a customer that has clearly stated that they want to leave in June at least a refund of the August payment as it is not my fault that you could not access your sistems during lockdown. And now i keep getting promotional emails.. I wouldn't recomend this chain of gyms to my worst enemy.

Negative experience: The gym is not that bad, but the process of cancelling the membership is really bad. You need to complete a form which they don't want to send through email. They also make you pay an extra month as an 'excuse for a month notice'

Negative experience: Wanted to cancel they make it harder than it needs to be now sent my account to debt collectors only stopped my direct debit after telling them I want to cancel but still kept trying to take payments want me to go in person to cancel during a pandemic total joke

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a place to get your lockdown body in check then look no further! With 24 hour access (apart from the squat rack), friendly staff and a whole host of machines you didn't even know could hurt you in places you didn't know existed, it's never been a better time to start a membership and get over the initial gym anxiety.

Negative experience: Area was good. Equipment was great. But problems with cancellation. Put my account on freeze, COVID happened on March and they said the freeze date ended on March. they restarted their service on August, was not informed that they were back in service because I opted out for notifications. But they can still send me notifications of my outstanding account. so i have to pay for two months despite/not planning on using their services anymore.

Negative experience: VERY HARD to cancel membership. They THREATEN to send debt collectors after you even after contacting my bank to block the standing order. Greedy BULLYING TECHNIQUES used in obtaining your money. THIS IS NOT DIRECT DEBIT BEWARE. EXPLOIT YOUNGER PEOPLE into getting memberships without explaining the full contract including how to cancel (you cant do this online like most gyms) and that you have to pay for 2 additional months after cancellation. They also IGNORE EMAILS/PHONE CALLS and are very unhelpful if you even find yourself in a sticky situation. POOR QUALITY for what you're paying for and BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Far better and cheaper larger commercial gyms around. AVOID AT ALL COST. (more advanced, cheaper, higher quality, more transparent and more interactive gyms around)
