Positive experience: I can't speak for the classes as I haven't tried them but I went here for the first time recently and I'm honestly really disappointed. All the equipment is so old, rickety and loud! There actually isn't as much equipment there as I thought and it gets really busy at peak times. It was okay as a one off but I wouldn't be paying the price for a membership there.

Fantastic experience: Perfect. I took a Starting to Lift class this morning to brush up on lifting. The manager took the session and (as I was the only one in the group) he tailored it to my needs ie compound lifts. He gave me some good pointers and the confidence in my techniques to crack on. Thanks.
Negative experience: My first visit ended before it began. The QR CODE didn't work and there was no one to help me. I received an e-mail that there were unsataffed hours in this gym just as I was trying to get there. Naturally I couldn't get in touch with anyone from customer support. The usual robot replies. Disgusting experience. But through the glass the gym does look neat and clean, Unfortunately I no longer have the desire to visit PureGym at all.

Positive experience: Decent gym. There seems to be always a leak these days doesn't bother me too much. Can always do what you want, peak hours can mean waiting around for equipment on occasions. 24 hours is always a bonus

Negative experience: Dirty not PureGym, with no maintenance of equipment whatsoever. A Cable mashine was out of use more than a month. Now, they decided it is a good idea to block the fire exit. No wonder why people not staying long with this gym.

Positive experience: Really good gym with a great mix of people. The standard equipment is there and it's clean also. A nice small gym with a small team, but great parking facilities and right next to a Sainsbury's as an added bonus.

Positive experience: Very reasonably priced place and not too bad size with most things you would need. Some stuff a bit dated but not a massive drama and makes sense for the money. Good location with free parking for 2 hours

Negative experience: Do not waste your money. Gets worse every time I go. Loads of broken equipment. Aircon not working. Dirty and scruffy. Finding a new gym asap.

Negative experience: not a PURE anymore, the staff should clean it better. and pay more attention to the cleaning supplies. Very often there is no any cleaning spay on early mornings. 1-7-2023 at 10am no cleaning supplies at only one (for the whole gym) cleaning station, feel disgusted. As my and others complaint have been continuously ignored, I will complain to the Health and Safety Authority now

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Clean and tidy. Nice changing rooms and showers. Lots of free parking. Just normal people using it. I mostly go in the mornings before work.

Positive experience: Small but clean and decent gym. It has a very good selection of free weights and benches. Only downside in terms of weights is they only have two squat racks so it can be difficult to get during the 5pm-6pm rush. I would recommend this gym if you don't do the normal gym rush hours

Fantastic experience: For me it’s a really good location as it’s a 5min drive from where I live. There is free onsite parking and conveniently it has a Sainsbury’s there. It’s also open 24hours! The classes are really good, the gym is clean and not too overcrowded - at least not when I’ve been. There is plenty of equipment and the machines are well maintained. The app is really good too! You can see how busy it will be before you go and can book classes in advance. It even offers workouts based on your goals if you’re a first timer or unsure what exercises to do.

Negative experience: Out of date and missing half of the equipment you would find in a standard puregym yet charge the same. Look elsewhere.

Positive experience: Equipment not clean. And not enough weights to share. Not enough cross trainers.

Fantastic experience: The introduction to the gym was very helpful, the gym has a lot to offer. Especially I liked the large and clean showers, and I was thankful for benches in the changing rooms to have a rest after the class. I was lucky to catch a space in a class right after the introduction, which was fun, as expected I was struggling and felt battered afterwards. Vanessa made it fun and encouraged me to keep going, thanks lovley woman!

Fantastic experience: Joined last ñight, went for the first time today. Only thing that's niggled me is after paying £27 a month I find out you have to pay 70p everytime you want to weigh yourself. That's a bit naughty

Positive experience: Just started back at this, its got all the stuff you need to train, keep fit or loose weight. Depending on what time you come like most gyms has its busier times. Its located above a big sainsburs which is handy for all your food an meal preps if your doing that.

Positive experience: Placr looked spacious and ok but I went it to talk to a member of staff couldn't find a reception or any members on the floor for some advice so I left and asked a customer on the way out!

Fantastic experience: Been here for around 2 years now. Friendly staff and people in the gym. Someone always there to lend a hand when needed. Does get busy between 5-8 in the weekdays but that’s expected due to people finishing work.

Negative experience: Classes are awful minus the odd decent spin (Matt). Trainers aren’t trained to teach classes. They are inconsistent, often finish way too early. Management need to observe these. Train staff. Basically take accountability. This gym continues to go down hill for classes.

Negative experience: I have been going to this gym almost 3 years. Only because this is the closest to me and others are minimum 30 min drive away. Equipments are fairly basic, it does the job. It get busy with school kids and becomes extremely messy. Staff aren’t actively present. I stuck behind the door twice and keep pressing the assistance button for 10 min but no one came to help while they were inside the gym. AC is too strong in the weight section and every time I ask it to be reduced they just say sorry we can’t change it. Considering all if the inconvenience and imperfections they increased my membership fees. I would leave this gym as soon as I get a chance.

Negative experience: If you like a tin pot size gym come here, weights area very limited same for cardio better off just closing the gym down literally so small plus side very clean and has all sanitizer freely available

Fantastic experience: This gym is very clean and well maintained. The PTs are friendly and will always help you out if you have a question. Excellent classes, particularly the circuits and cycling. Definitely recommend, whether you live, work or just travel through the area.
Positive experience: Nice gym plenty of classes. But parking only 2 hrs ridiculous.

Positive experience: I actually think even for the price it's not got the best selection of equipment and is very cramped, considering The Gym in King's Heath is the same price or Bardello in Shirley. Also can't ever get booked onto classes. Only go there because there are no other local gyms.

Class timetables are determined by staff availability & member demand. We regularly review our timetables and will implement nationwide changes every quarter. If you have any queries on the equipment at your gym, or any suggestions as to classes, the Gym Manager regularly reviews all comment cards in the suggestion box in the gym! PureGym.

Positive experience: Make sure you bring your own water as the vending machine charges nearly 2 quid for a bottle.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, very clean. Staff are lovely, gym instructors are great and rarely have to wait for equipment to come available. Quick and easy signing in and out process via the puregym app which also tells you how many people are in the gym at any one time. You can book classes through the app and get home workout videos. Really pleased with the gym and I would definitely recommend it.

Negative experience: I attended the gym today and I'm not the covid police but suffer from anxiety. I was the ONLY person in the gym wearing a face mask walking around. Not even the staff was wearing one. I joined this gym in May but because of my anxiety I have been unable to bring myself to go there. I got my act together and went today but was very disappointed. There are alot of people not wiping down the machines after use the staff aren't on top of this. I felt a little weary in there. The set up isn't that great and the machines are limited yes for social distancing but even when the rules soften there aren't a lot of machines in there. It would be nice if there were more cardio machines because at the moment its predominantly weights or weight machines. I will change gyms because I didnt feel comfortable, im not a Karen, it depends what you want from a gym. I felt claustrophobic which is a shame.

Negative experience: The gym was ok before lockdown wasn’t too packed now you can hardly get on a machine unless you come at 1am. Waste of money it’s too small aswell
Hi Alison, Our gyms are very popular and can become busy, especially at peak times! The busyness does fluctuate throughout the day, and from day-to-day. Fantastic experience: Went to this Puregym for the first time yesterday around mid day. Like all Gym’s i guess it can get busy late lunch time and evening but that happens in every gym. For the convenience and the price it’s pretty good. Its sensible to wear a mask moving around the gym and taking it off at your treadmill/workout station. There’s plenty of cleaning facilities and seems as though everyone is generally on top of this although early days after the Covid Lockdown. I like the quirky hydro stations with the vitamin water- thats a valuable touch and nicer than plain water. It would be nice to have more than 1 hydro massage chair in action as there was a queue yesterday. Didn’t need the changing area so cant comment on that.
