Negative experience: Went for meal at the Lake ,was possibly the worst meal we have ever had and they ever had the cheek to add on tip, pasta was freezing cold chips the same chicken steak disgusting so over cooked the chairs plastic it's a well over priced cafe ,no go ,only plus views

Fantastic experience: Great venue for a conference. Hosted around 60 attendees. Food was great staff very friendly. Location with crosby beach views, anple parking facilities are great and very clean. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Hired a kayak and paddle board today very reasonable price and staff are amazing. Young lad outside looked after us and kept going on the lake to help us and the two ladies on reception were very helpful and friendly with a smile on their faces.

Fantastic experience: Firstly, 6 stars to all the service staff here. Nothing too much trouble, smiles from everyone and so attentive. I've done 20 years of hospitality and really struggle to find my standard of service. These guys have it nailed. The food was hot and fresh, and the coffees and mochas were excellent. Thanks ever so much for a wonderful early afternoon spent here. See you all very soon and all the very best

Positive experience: Absolutely beautiful setting could be the best restaurant in town Sat outside in the huts, menu was small went inside bigger menu you could eat indoors or on the terrace but mot in the huts, awkward we were already settled do had to have the outside streetfood menu I opted for kofta, luke warm meatballs in over spiced tomato sauce £7, my daughter truffle and parmesan fries £5 , frozen chips with a tint bit of parmesan, other daughter hummus with flat bread £ 5.50, we think they whipped up the chickpeas and forget to add olive oil , garlic, lemon or salt and pepper, absolutely awful. Tiny portions of overpriced bland foo d and guess what it cones from the same kitchen as the indoor food you can't have outside, figure that out. do yourself a favour, walk over the dunes, and go the bus yard food. There is an amazing Lake house if you're going to imitate, get the taste, portion size, and price right

Negative experience: Went for lunch twice.No alcohol beer.So we haven't actually experienced the food.Sort of missing a trick.Dissapointing.How hard can it be to give customers what they want.BASICS!

Fantastic experience: We had a good stroll around the lake and then into the cafe for a good coffee , sadly all of the cake was gone by the time we arrived but having been before we can safely recommend it. A great place for a walk and some refreshments after.

Positive experience: Popped into the bar at lakeside for a swift shandy took nearly 15 minutes to recieve drinks (2 pints shandy) wasnt even busy Shandy was very very nice using their own lakeside pilsner £9.90 for 2 shandys is about average these days probaly the location your paying for. Fantastic experience: Today's wedding was at Crosby Lakeside. Recently renovated and in a fantastic location. One of our Daimler Limousine wedding cars outside waiting for the couple to have some photos. Added another photo from today's wedding of one of our Imperial Viscount Landaulette wedding cars.

Positive experience: Great location for a cuppa & cake Yummy hot chocolate & blueberry muffin

Fantastic experience: I arranged for my brother and his family to stay here over in August. Really great location right on the front of the lake. I met them for breakfast each morning and the food and service was 5 star. One morning we were served by Christian who was attentive and helpful. We were also served by Chloe who made a great flat white! Thank you

Fantastic experience: I have not stayed at the hotel but I sail on the lake every Sunday. I have coffee and lunch regularly. There is a great train service (Merseyrail) with regular trains to Liverpool and Southport If you’re lucky with the weather Crosby beach nearby is amazing!

Fantastic experience: I took my grandson and a few friends to do water sports for his birthday and had food after in the restaurant. Tracey was an amazing support helping the children get ready and make sure their life jackets fitted. Tyra from the restaurant had all the food covered and the staff were really great with 9 boisterous hungry boys. Everything was perfect because of all the staff. I highly recommend trying everything the lakeside has to offer, you won’t be disappointed

Fantastic experience: We used the marine lake to hire paddleboards (£12 per hour). The staff couldn't be more helpful, and we felt very safe. It's very easy to launch, and the cafe looking out on the lake was dog friendly so everyone was happy. We lost track of time paddling, and ended up returning a ring to some children up the other end (what lovely little beaches!). As we were out longer than we should the boat came over and reminded us it was way over time, oops! Luckily, it wasn't busy! They were very nice about it, time flies when you're having fun!!

Negative experience: Poor service and no Gluten free options. Great location but need to be more accessible

Negative experience: A real shame. Nice venue and lovely setting but terrible service and low quality food. Service was very slow with no knives/forks given and missing items on the order. All very disorganised. The food was very poor. Will only have drinks in future.

Positive experience: We stopped by for a cup of tea. The manager was friendly and took us to our table and said someone would be over to take our order. It then took twelve minutes for someone to come over even though there was plenty of staff. As there were no menus on the tables we ordered two teas, a pot of tea arrived with one tea bag in it which made for extremely weak cups of tea. When I went to pay, the girl on the till who looked rather miserable told me it was £5 which I thought was way overpriced, and with lack of service I paid but did not leave a tip, the girl now looked fairly angry as she passed me my change, maybe because I didn't tip? But I really didn't feel I should with the service we received and the weak tea we were served.

Negative experience: The last two times we have been, they have refused to give us a drinks menu even though they have always had one. Then the drinks were more expensive than the last time. I don't understand why they can't display their drinks prices. The service is slow and inconsistent. They need more training, especially in how to serve customers.

Fantastic experience: Cafe is a perfect stop off for a regular beach and park dog walker. It opens early including Mon/Tue when everywhere else locally seems to be closed in winter. Staff are genuinely welcoming and the setting is spacious, clean and attractive. Excellent coffee and cake, served quickly and very reasonably priced. My border collie is always welcomed and fussed over - dogs are well catered for in the cafe area - 5 stars, cheers.

Negative experience: The service in the cafe is just awful, just youngsters serving you without knowing what a mocha even is and the service is soooo slow. Yesterday we waited for ten minutes for two hour drinks, they weren't busy either.

Negative experience: Went on the first week of opening with my daughter. I had the vegan burger, it came with chips £12.50, There were hardly any chips and it was literally just a burger which wasn’t that big and this little thing of chips what was almost empty and nothing else not even a bit of lettuce, thought for the price there was very little.. took photos. The actual burger tasted good but the price and lack of food has put me off going again. Also ordered an oat latte the boy who put it on the table spilled most of it in the saucer and didn’t even offer a napkin never mind to refill the cup Disappointed.

Negative experience: I was at the lakeside last night. What an absolute example of how not to run a business! We had a table booked. There was 9 of us. A few had drinks just arriving when we arrived, i had to wait 10 mins for her to come and take out drinks order, I was only having water with plenty of ice, 2 ice cubes that were almost melted. The cider came WITHOUT a glass? We asked for water for the table glasses again had to be asked for! I am so annoyed, the food was ordered, with very little choice on the menu. Salad 4 of us ordered it, you can't go wrong with that eh... Oh my word, it was awful, the chicken was not fresh, it was warm as was the bacon. And it wasn't bacon it was more like gammon, that was warm too. I assume that with the extremely poor standard of the food it was chef MIC who cooked it, microwave !I have never seen or attempted to eat such a mess. It is simply the worst food I've ever been presented with, I didn't trust It in any way! The meat had been sat in something that made it all look like a pinkish brown. With balsamic means not soaked in it! Then put in a bowl. The spice lamb had no spice! At this point I went for the manager and ask him to come to our table, which he did. And that is where things escalated! He was defensive, rude, and raised his voice to one of our ladies. When it was made crystal clear we would be reviewing all restaurants as a ladies dinner club, which we have used to support all the local restaurants post covid in Crosby! This is the worst we have been to! After I went outside to remove .myself from the tension along with 2 other ladies, he apparently did apologise, which is what he should have done 1st off. We may have been more empathetic! I was informed that he said I we don't review on trip advisor then we won't pay for the drinks. I don't give in to blackmail. So here as promised is my review. I was driving so I didn't drink. There is also apparently another menu if you know how to ask for it! The staff were miserable, unhelpful, and they all need to be trained PROPERLY! I am disgusted! And from the other review on here they've learned NOTHING! Not even tried to! My advice is if you go here, don't eat from the night time menu.it is overpriced chef MIC food.

Fantastic experience: Went for a meal with my mother, and she didn't complain! It's that good. Good disability facilities as well.

Negative experience: First time visiting since the refurbishment had been completed. Service was friendly and efficient, failed to ask if everything was ok l, shortly after serving our food. Chicken club sandwich looked amazing when it was put on the table, the quality and taste was disgusting. The chicken tasted like frozen, boiled and was very greasy. Gem lettuce was wet and soggy. Very poor quality for the prices. I would not recommend or return again. I'd add pictures but is not giving me the option too.

Negative experience: For the price u pay I would expect better quality of food, Chicken Club Sandwich was disgusting, chicken is frozen chicken thawed out stuff a little piece of Bacon which was Fatty, Lettuce was soggy and vile, my House Burger was horrible burger was dry and burnt along with the bun only good thing was the fries, would not recommend this food to anyone not even to my worse enemy....

Fantastic experience: Amazing 100% and a fabulous location We booked the Lakeside for our babies joint christening day. Which proved to be the most lovely day. The food was gorgeous hot barbecue served by the chefs... there was plenty for everyone - the tables all set out lovely with white linen - all spotless Libby was awesome throughout the day she looked after us making sure everything was just perfect- all the staff the chefs and planning staff Andy & Keira were all very professional. Everyone commented on how lovely The Bistro and big room was set up, and how lovely the staff were. Thank you so much especially Libby. We can’t thank you enough.

Positive experience: Good food and fair prices, overlooking the boating lake. Great gym for residents and members. Loads to do outside in the grounds.

Fantastic experience: great place for a snack and lovely staff

Positive experience: When the sun is shining there is nothing more exciting than the ripple of glistening water. The park and indoor facilities are brilliant and a 10 minute walk takes you to the beach. The beach can be a bit muddy and we were warned by lifeguards not to go too far out as it was possible to get stuck in the sinking sand!!

Positive experience: Food is really nice and a good selection of drinks

Negative experience: Don't forget to refund your parking because the thieves inside the bistro won't remind you. Apparently "it's not their job" to remind you and if you ask immediately after paying "they can't do anything". Maybe redo the transaction?! Typical Scouse scumbags.

Positive experience: Lovely place to visit on a Sunday with my two daughters. The eldest took part in a sailing activity and we all had a late breakfast afterward. Helpful staff are on hand, toilets are big enough to bring pushchairs into and sitting out in the back is great in the sun.

Fantastic experience: What a gem this place is!! Perfectly situated for Crosby Beach (Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place') which was less than 10 mins walk. Breakfast was excellent. Doesn't serve food in the evening but South Road is very near with great restaurants and bars and just about every cuisine you can imagine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic experience: I attended the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre for a yoga class as I'm a Sefton Council gym member. The lady on reception was very welcoming and offered to book me on to next week's class there and then. The changing rooms were very clean and I would recommend this location.

Negative experience: Service was poor. Yes they were short staffed for the day but that is still no excuse for lack of basic service. Some of our parties food was brought out and after 10 minutes I had to ask for the remaining to be served. When this turned up it was luke warm. No one asked how our food was and had to wait an age for the bill. One of the waitress was chewing gum or some other piece of food while serving. Would not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Only a brief visit, however the facility and service were great.

Negative experience: Very disappointing. Ordered lunch for husband and myself and our elderly guest who asked for an egg sandwich with absolutely no salad leaves inside. After a long wait it all arrived, complete with salad leaves in the sandwich. We asked for it to be redone as requested...15 minutes later it still hadn't come. When I politely asked at the counter where it was, the response was somewhat aggressive, as if my query was unreasonable. He said he would go to kitchen and find out....another almost 10 minutes went by before it appeared, by which time our hot food was cold. No apology!! Also I thought the sandwich was overpriced as it was on very basic white cut bread. My Superfood salad was a bit of a mess with too many leaves and hardly any walnuts etc. Still no apology when bill was paid. Coffee was quite nice tho so that's worth a point.

Positive experience: Took my daughter and relative who was visiting from Ireland for lunch. My daughter who suffers from an eating disorder ordered from the child's menue. We were quickly told at our table that she could'nt have this as she was not a child under 16. I pointed out that it does'nt state this on the menu, but the waitress proceded to argue that she still could not have this. It became uncomfortable in front of my daughter and my visiting relative. The waitress went away and what I thought was her superior came to our table and carried on the conversation that my daughter could not have the nuggets and chips. I had to ask her to come away from the table so I could have a word in private as it was clearly upsetting our visit. I explained that my daughter was unwell and that it was a big thing for her to be here! so please could they honour her order and pointed out, again that it did not state that only children can order from the child's menue. The member of staff relented and we got our order. I just would like to point out that this uncomfortable atmosphere should not have occurred at our table, it is clearly unprofessional of the staff! On a more positive note the food was nice and the surroundings were pleasant, but please train your staff in how to speak to customers if you want us to return.

Positive experience: Nice atmosphere, well presented and clean nice views all around, parking is cheap and the food is pleasant and nicely priced, two teas a filtered coffee and two Mediterranean platters £16 very reasonable.

Positive experience: Car park now requires a small fee to park. Can pay by cash or with a card which is helpful.

Fantastic experience: Attend a business meeting here and the restaurant is fantastic and food very good quality and reasonably priced. Car parking isn't free but it can be claimed back if you present your parking ticket to the staff there.

I was here for a friend's birthday party which was held in the Lakeside Suite - had a really good night, food was gorgeous & the bar staff were very attentive & helpful. Loved everything about my time here. Staff extremely friendly. Received a permit which allowed me to park for free. Room/bathroom lovely & spacious & immaculate. Had the breakfast too which was fantastic, choice of full (cooked to order) English breakfast, fresh fruit salad, selection of Danish pastries, yogurts, cereal, toast & pieces of fruit - not forgetting tea, coffee, orange or Apple juice. Will definitely be staying here again!! A*****

Fantastic experience: Here for tea tonight, two portions of scouse, absolutely delicious! But!.. drinks far too expensive, pint Guiness and glass of wine nearly £9? Sadly we were the only people eating tonight, maybe because food only served till 6pm? Why is such a lovely place not being used?? Shame, would hate to see it close

Positive experience: The gym and facilities are very nice, however at busy times there aren't enough machines.

Negative experience: Went for a meal with friends on Sunday, we shared a platter for starter which was lovely, and then all had steak for main course, the steak was dry and overcooked, with no sauces on the menu, but the waiter offered us gravy and explained that this would be looked into and hopefully changed, the main course was a bit disappointing, with improvements to be made. But the staff were very attentive and did there utmost to please us.

Negative experience: We've been here for food a few times now, and it seems to be getting consistently worse. There is now a constant standard where a full complaint cannot quite be justified, but the service is still noticeably poor. The food is good and reasonably priced, but the chips taste like microwave chips so are best avoided.

Fantastic experience: Stopped for our dinner however the starter was a bit cold when we I formed the staff they couldn't of been more helpful. They were very quick to apologise and offered another starter or to remove from the bill. We requested to be removed. Our mains arrived and were fantastic, the staff came over to make sure these were ok. Very lovely and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Took the kids for an afternoon out. They loved it, using nets in the water to find creatures and also crabbing lines. Then finished off with a play on the park. Lacking a little cafe to get refreshments from.
