Our comment from FitFit UK about Jubilee Swimming Pool:
Jubilee Swimming Pool, located in Knowle, Bristol, is a cherished community-run facility that offers a warm and welcoming environment for swimmers of all ages. This 22m pool is perfect for families and regular swimmers alike, making it a popular spot for locals. Visitors have praised the warming temperature of the water and the friendly, helpful staff.
Many users express their love for the community spirit fostered at Jubilee, highlighting the fantastic swimming lessons and the small gym available. While the pool's charm lies in its period features, some users have noted that it is in need of TLC and could benefit from improvements to the changing rooms and overall cleanliness.
Despite some criticisms about the facilities being a bit basic and underfunded, the overwhelming sentiment is that this pool serves as an important asset to the local area. With great prices and a supportive community, Jubilee Swimming Pool is highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to swim, exercise, or spend quality time with family and friends.
Be sure to check their schedule in advance, as some users have reported issues with session availability.

Jubilee Swimming Pool: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great community run pool & gym
Positive experience: Jubilee Swimming baths was where I learned to swim in the 1970's - I am much more enthusiastic of it by consequences of checking out various swimming pool in Bristol. Based in Knowle - I have been considering in resumption of swimming again. To get back more exercise and confidence in swimming. I do want to get myself fitter for life and work. So I am more than happy with Jubilee Swimming baths ! This is a pool that I rate higher than even the Hengrove Park Leisure Centre ones - that over some years have had some recent issues lately. I certainly will go on a recon run to it. Next week. To check it out again!
Fantastic experience: Just visited for a lookaround and loved it. Small, clean with really helpful and friendly staff, excited to join up, now I'm back in the lovely Brizzle
Positive experience: Visited 3 x times whilst in Cornwall on holiday, geothermal pool each time. Really enjoyable experience and better in the sun! Facilities are a bit basic, but pool is lovely and warm.
Fantastic experience: Joining this pool has been the best decision I've made in years. The staff, teachers and the community feel are amazing. My teacher is Jo and she is absolutely fantastic. We must protect this place. Totally recommended.
Positive experience: This is an asset to the local area, and something the whole community should be using, however, it has obviously been lacking funding for some time as it is a little run down. I found the pool a little chilly (not that I mind this) Cheap swims with the family can still be had though, and I'm sure the lessons are great.
Fantastic experience: Great community 22m pool, never busy and always a friendly feel.
Fantastic experience: A lovely pool, friendly people.
Negative experience: Very unpleasant environment. Avoid.
Fantastic experience: Great treat to stop off at if you are Walking the South West Coast Path to ease the muscles and enjoy a warm or cold dip. Really good cafe as well. Will be coming back for sure
Negative experience: told at 10am that there was a leisure swim at 2.30pm when i got there was told at 2.15pm that there was none as at 4pm there was a disco swim. This is not the first time that the staff move the goalposts. This is a COMMUNITY pool not a staff pool!
Negative experience: Staff sometimes are great and friendly but really depends. ALWAYS call ahead because the websites timetable may say one thing but it seems they don't mind swapping things if someone has booked a party. We arrived here and then was told we only had 30mins because there was a party so I guess we couldn't swim. All we got was a shrug and a sorry. This used to be a good swimming pool but multiple chipped tiles and was quiet cold. They also don't take cash and only have a capacity of 40 for a family swim.
Fantastic experience: Lovely warm pool.
Negative experience: Pool was lovely when I came here years ago but after 15 minutes trying to get the online website to work I gave up. Pointless.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, water is warm, can see would be difficult for wheelchair users up the steps. Place needs a bit of TLC. Would take family here for a swim.
Fantastic experience: Still the best pool in Bristol
Fantastic experience: Great community owned pool. Good for regular swimmers or a family swim. Friendly staff, and whilst good value it still retains its period features and charm.
Positive experience: The water is lovely and warm and we do enjoy the pool but the showers and changing rooms are not great. I appreciate the team who have fought to keep it open though.
Fantastic experience: I had really good experience so far, pool is good temperature, the staff are very friendly.
Negative experience: I do miss swimming here with my club but they moved our swim so after going there for 30 yr and our club using it since 1973 we no longer have a club a very bad show. I have read the new reviews and a lot do not seem happy . I put 1 star as you can not put no stars
Positive experience: Very expensive now, so unfortunately we don't bother anymore
Fantastic experience: Pretty basic pool in need of a little TLC, but it does the job and is an asset to the local community. Friendly staff and a coffee machine
Negative experience: Really poor swimming facilities. There’s one small dirty communal shower that barely works and no one uses it so the pool is filthy - I swam there last week and caught a really nasty infection. I’ll never go back. I agree with the other reviewer - it’s not accessible at all and according to the man on the desk there’s no concession rate for disabled swimmers (even though it says there is on the board). The slow lane was advertised as suitable for vulnerable swimmers but it wasn’t at all, I kept getting bashed into by others and I had to get out after 20mins because it was such a stressful and unpleasant experience.
Negative experience: I was told on the phone that it is accessible - it is not accessible! Steps at the front, no accessible toilet, no accessible shower. It costs £2 more to swim here than at Hengrove (as Jubilee doesn’t do a concession rate), but their facilities are awful. The pool is tiny and dirty, with ten people all swimming different speeds crammed into one lane. The changing rooms are cramped and there’s just one communal shower that dribbles water. This was by far the worst pool I’ve been to in Bristol. Such a stressful experience as a disabled person.
Negative experience: No public swim in the morning to take my 3yo to all lane swimming. So much for saving the pool for the locals when the locals can't use it as and when. Go to Hengrove instead
Positive experience: Water is nice and warm, perfect for little kids.
Fantastic experience: Came today for the First time, was really happy with the service , every body was so nice and it didn't make me feel on edge or anything was Great :)
Positive experience: I'd attend more if they offered a swim only membership for those who do't use the gym, or if the sessions were available on Movegb.
Negative experience: Havan't Been There For A Long Long Time.
Positive experience: Nice staff and warm pool. The building is quite outdated, but well worth investing in as it's a community hub for many.
Fantastic experience: Friendly helpful staff.
Positive experience: Good local pool but needs some tlc in the changing rooms. There are no private showers, despite what the website says. Small gym is fine. Be good to have more child sessions that don't happen at lunchtime!
Positive experience: We were deputised to take one of our grandsons for his swimming lesson here. Nice swimming pool and gym.
Positive experience: Went to use the gym today and arrived to be told it’s closed for electrical works. The electrician was in there fixing lights. Then saw somebody in the gym doing their workout. Asked if I could use it to do a few of my physio exercises (didn’t need equipment) because it seems to be open. Told no even though someone in there finishing their workout. Completely confused! Would be useful if they could text members or message on website when gym and pool are closed as saves travelling and wasting time.
Fantastic experience: Really good pool. Needs more people to use it to keep it open.
Fantastic experience: Amazing community resource with super friendly people running it too
Positive experience: Great pool. 90% of changing cubicles full of clothes
Fantastic experience: Bargain price for a family of 3. My son has swimming lessons here and has come on massively. Because of this, we don't have to pay for him when we go as a family. Changing room doors and lockers need some attention but a great place to swim.
Fantastic experience: Great pool. Very old and quaint. But adds to the appeal. It's right on my door step. Save this pool!!!!
Positive experience: Excellent value lovely helpful staff
Negative experience: Can't even get them to answer the bloody phone! Complete waste of time amd must have tried 50 times over the last 6 weeks!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic, the best!
Fantastic experience: Save this local gem
Fantastic experience: My favourite ever community pool. Local people are working so hard to prevent its closure. The water is deliciously warm, staff the friendliest ever, it's a fabulous resource and must be kept open
Fantastic experience: Nice warm pool, better then Hengrove. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be going again.
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Fantastic experience: Great little community pool. Use it or lose it (hopefully not)!
Positive experience: A lovely pool to go for a swim although parking is difficult.
Fantastic experience: I was hugely impressed with the staff (Emma, Claire and Georgia) who managed to get my screaming toddler all the way from a massive tantrum in the reception into the pool with a grin on his face. It took a lot of patience to do it. On the way out he said he had a lot of fun and will bring the octopus back next week!
Fantastic experience: This is a place, a swimming pool and gym that is threatened with closure. So USE IT or LOOSE IT. It is a wonderful place to unwind. Please USE IT.
Fantastic experience: Love this place, don't close it.
Fantastic experience: Great, old school local swimming pool. Major plus point is the temperature of the water - it's on the warm side.
Fantastic experience: I don't know what I will do if they close The Jubilee, I hate the pool at Hengrove it's too cold and my only proper exercise is swimming. We have to fight to keep it open.
Fantastic experience: This pool has unjustly been earmarked by Bristol council for closure. We use it twice weekly and as members we occasionally use the small gym as well, great value for money.would be sorely missed by the huge amount of people that use it if BCC get their way and close it
Fantastic experience: Really great friendly place to swim
Positive experience: In need of remedial exercise, and although across town, it was worth the journey as the water was an ideal temperature (warm) and the pool was not crowded. Friendly staff too.
Fantastic experience: The pool was warm! I wasn't expecting that. Lockers available, showers hot, the lanes were narrow today because part of pool sectioned off for something else.
Fantastic experience: It may be old but it's very good and has some great Staff !
Fantastic experience: Great local pool. Really needs the council or owners to spend some money on it though.
Fantastic experience: Art deco, old, authentic, needs updating, investment and TLC, but love it! Teachers are good and very genuine. Needs to be saved from council paper pushers!
Negative experience: This pool needs a decent cleaning, the bottom and walls of the pool are very slippery and terribly dirty. On Sunday, some larvae swam in the water.
Fantastic experience: Great little Gym with no posers or attitude!
Fantastic experience: Good swim, lovely warm water. I can see it needs a bit of TLC, but a really good evening. I will return. I have now returned, and the building is getting the TLC, a little way to go, but looking very good.
Fantastic experience: Great basic municipal pool
Fantastic experience: Great family friendly atmosphere
Fantastic experience: Great pool, keep it open!!
Thanks for your review! We hope to see you again soon.
Fantastic experience: Lovely swimming pool which is walking distance to the community of Knowle. My daughter really enjoys her swimming lessons at Jubilee pool.
Thanks for your review! We hope to see you again soon.
Fantastic experience: Great local pool with friendly helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Does exactly what it says on the tin been going for years
Fantastic experience: Love it, love it, love it,
Fantastic experience: nice
Fantastic experience: Beautiful
Fantastic experience: A proper swimming pool, where I actually learnt to swim. I was there before lock down and its great value for money. The water was crystal clear and just the right temperature. This IS NOT a 25m pool. Its 22M
Fantastic experience: It is a lovely pool. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: Nice and cheap. But I never knew you could have salty chlorine water
Positive experience: Nice and clean not too busy thanks guys
Fantastic experience: Home away from home.
Negative experience: Dirty, rusty, disgusting. Dont be fooled by the pictures on their official website.
Positive experience: It might look like it needs modernising, but I like it up there, and it's popular with the locals.
Positive experience: It's decent and sherlock was filmed here
Fantastic experience: Nice
Positive experience: Lovely local swimming pool with a range of activities to suit young and old. Taking photos here is verboten for child protection, so no photos to share I'm afraid. This is a great community resource and frequently under threat of closure due to funding issues, so use it or lose it!
Negative experience: Visited for a "Floats & Fun" session. This consisted of 3 small and damaged floats in the pool. No details/pictures on the website about what the session should be, but can't help feel this is misadvertised. ("Floats" indicates more than a single float per child!) Was told by staff that they don't put more in because its difficult to take them out again (a poor excuse) £5.75 for an adult and child.
Fantastic experience: Nice local pool. Changing rooms are a little run down but the pool is good. Regular classes and lanes sessions. The water is warmed up for family sessions. It's been under threat of closure before. Use it or lose it.
Positive experience: Smaller and more friendly than Hengrove, bit crumbly round the edges but warm enough and very helpful staff.
Positive experience: Very simple but perfect for what we use it for, happy helpful staff and more often than not the temperature of the pool is good.
Positive experience: Compact pool in the middle of Knowle. Water pretty warm, not the cleanest pool. Could be decent with an overdue refurb.
Positive experience: It's a bit weird. But then it's a basic pool with fairly basic changing rooms, so if you're looking to swim in a pool of water then this might be the place for you! Granted it's a little grubby, but hey that's what the chlorine and salt mix is for! Would be good if they could repair a few of the lockers as it can be a pain in the arse finding one that works.
Negative experience: The pool is very dated. No hot water to have a shower after. It was float fun but very limited.
Positive experience: Nice stock standard pool.
Fantastic experience: Great pool and gym, friendly staff, changing rooms always clean. Can't recommend the place highly enough.
Fantastic experience: Great swimming pool at a very reasonable price. I've now joined their gym and swim program and for £20/month you get way more than the big sports centres give you. Gym swim and personal training all in one!
Fantastic experience: Family friendly
Positive experience: Perfect to entertain a little one for a couple of hours.
Positive experience: Great local swimming pool, water generally fairly warm, good for families with float & inflatable sessions although shallow end is still quite deep for children under 6 to stand up with head above water. Changing rooms could do with a bit of TLC as dont smell too pleasant a lot of the time.
Positive experience: Great swimming pool, toilets could be better but not too bad, but water tasted salty.
Negative experience: Grotty
Positive experience: One of my stepsons friends had an inflatable pool party here, the kids had a great time. The place is lacking in facilities for parents to view our sit down, and building is looking a little tired and shabby. Staff were friendly
Fantastic experience: Went for a scuba diving session which was a pleasant experience. The swimming pool is proper warm whichnmade the experience even more pleasant.
Fantastic experience: This is a great local swimming pool. The pool and the gym are a fantastic community facility and we are really lucky to have this on our doorstep. As a family we use Jubilee multiple times during the week for swimming lessons, general lane swimming, floats and fun and the gym. The staff are always really friendly and helpful.
