Neptune Centre

Negative experience: Unfairly charged a no-show fee dispute showing up. I had swimming booked though my membership, which I attended, however at the time I unknowingly made the mistake of passing through OPENED disabled gate to the changing rooms. I was not made aware until the no-show fee that I must scan else I will be charged extra £4 to my account. I explained this to the receptionist but they were unwilling to help or be understanding in this matter, or towards the unfairness. And am forced to pay a fee for something I did not know was a rule. Absolutely absurd.

Positive experience: My son has swimming lessons here and they are ok. However, changing rooms have cubicles that don’t lock and are damaged and the men’s toilets are disgusting. Urine all over the floor and the changing rooms in general smell unpleasant. Pool seems ok, changing rooms and toilets need a serious and regular clean and updating.

Positive experience: The photos, especially of the gym and pool and exterior approach, are well out of date. However, the facilities are ok but you get what you pay for in many respects.

Positive experience: Rude reception staff, seemed not bothered at all, and tried to tell me I'd booked the wrong thing when I hadn't.

Fantastic experience: I went to making waves hairdressers that are inside the Neptune centre. The ladies are amazing and it's such a lovely atmosphere. My favourite hairdressers.

Fantastic experience: Amazing quality of different fitness classes available here. Various times to suit peoples work life. Best time for me is roughly 11am a handful of people in totally focused doing their own thing. Lots of gym equipment available.

Positive experience: Staff are polite and helpful and very pleasant

Negative experience: 5 of us ladies decided we would meet up each week for a swim. Our first session 8 lads had decided to meet up for a game of footy & water bombing. With only 2 lanes open they were hard to avoid. We left after one of my friends recieved a red card kick of the ball to her head.. never again. Witnessed by a lifeguard too.

Positive experience: Amazing gym, really decent showers. Large variety of workout machines including leg press and a whole area dedicated to weight lifting. I would give 5 stars if they didnt put the radio on (which has fast food adverts every so often)

Positive experience: Good gym and sauna/steam room. Most equipment is usually available but sometimes there can be a wait around peak hours, no hack squat machine but has most equipment needed. Plenty of cardio machines too if you don't do weight training.

Fantastic experience: Lovely afternoon swim with my two eldest children. They loved it. Locker / changing rooms are clean unlike other establishments… and reasonably priced to for a family swim. Staff are so helpful too.

Positive experience: Virtual fitness classes started back up today, done a Body Pump class just after 9 o'clock now iam walking like John Wayne. Humour aside, I Gym and Swim and couldn't recommend it enough. Great facilities.

As usual swimming teachers are amazing with my children. All staff are very helpful and friendly, they have really outdone any expectations we had. Highly recommended!!!!

Positive experience: The pool is good, large, with friendly staff both front of house and the life guards. The pool area and changing rooms are clean and the services are reasonably priced and a good timetable is operation allowing almost anyone to be able to swim at a time convenient for them. The changing rooms for the pool are a bit run down, with some showers and changing stalls missing doors and/or locks, and the water pressure in the showers is either way too strong to the point of being painful or incredibly weak. Still, this only slightly detracts from an otherwise great centre.

Positive experience: Good memories since childhood.

Positive experience: Limited experience with my daughter during soft play... the area is OK, clean with some seating for parents to relax etc whilst kids played on the inflatable play area.. Yes parents can join in with your kids playing for great fun for all.. my only issue is supervision by staff was zero, it was parents with kids all the time unless a member of staff popped in for a second or two. Next toilets for toddlers the toilet facilities seemed to cater for older kids & not for toddlers in the play area.

Negative experience: Went today with kids paid £5.50 for adult and two kids this was at 2:30 got changed and entered pool a life guard approached us and explained they close at 3 and we would have to leave . I appreciate the timetable however this was not explained at time of entry which I feel it should have been and when we exited and went to complain the cash office was closed . Unacceptable to not have been told a further call will follow on Monday !!

Negative experience: Awful experience. Very difficult to find a changing area for the baby. Three people used the pool as a toilet while we were there, the changing area smelt revolting, we didn't even dare venture into the large pool after watching feces be fished out with a net!? Would NOT recommend.

Positive experience: Contains a main Swimming Pool and a learner pool. Upstairs there is an economical cafe and indoor games such as snooker tables. Downstairs, there is a local library, this centre combines a number of activities under one roof.

Positive experience: All in all this is a pretty decent place; weather you're wanting to take the children for a swim; go to the gym for a work out; or fetch something to eat (upstairs) - The place has friendly and polite staff members who are always happy to help; with cleaning standards pretty high

Fantastic experience: There is an amazing pool where I go swimming from 2 to 3 times a week. If you don't want to get kids crossing all the lanes you will prefer to avoid the swim for everyone sessions and go to the adult gentle swim instead. Check the time table available online and enjoy it!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is friendly and smiles. I only use the swimming side of things for my sons lessons and that's great. Beryl the teacher is amazing with the children. It's always a peaceful 45 minutes when we go every Saturday morning.

Negative experience: Usually go on weekends and find enough space to do lane swimming. One side is very shallow the opposite a little deeper. Water and room temperature is rather hot. Sometimes people don't shower before getting inside and it smells like deodorant. There is also a second very shallow pool for very young kids. Changing space and showers are not amazing, but if clean ok. They have this outrageous thing that you can not plug in your own hair dryer anywhere they have a bullshit excuse for pat testing yor devices, and they have 2-3 very old hairdryers of terrible quality that operate with coins. I have never had this experience in another pool outrageous and a deal-breaker if it is winter and you have long hair!
