Meadows Leisure Centre, located in Liverpool, United Kingdom, is a fantastic facility that caters to both fitness enthusiasts and families. With its diverse offerings including a modern gym, spacious swimming pool, and even a library, it promises a well-rounded experience for all visitors.
Highlights of Meadows Leisure Centre:
- Inclusive membership options that cover swimming and an array of fitness classes.

- A variety of fitness classes including Body Attack and Body Combat, which are particularly popular among users.
- Great facilities for families, featuring outdoor equipment and children's play areas.

However, some users have noted areas for improvement:
- The parking situation can be challenging during peak times, and some recommend arriving early or using nearby parking options.
- There are occasional reports about hygiene concerns, particularly regarding restrooms and pool cleanliness.

Meadows Leisure Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Have been a member of this wonderful gym for years, membership includes free swimming and library! Amazing facilities
Fantastic experience: I love the gym classes. The Body attack and body combat are just brilliant. I'm so glad there is now one on a Monday morning. May be there could be another body combat class please ? There is a nice vibe in the meadows leisure centre and it's clean. The toilets are nice and clean too.
Fantastic experience: AMAZING
Fantastic experience: What a fabulous leisure centre absolutely amazing fabulous facilities staff are warm and welcoming especially the lovely friendly lifeguards Diane and laura and others. Pool is nice and big perfect for practicing sets and laps showers are nice and warm to excellent changing rooms don't forget the fab vending machines snacks and coffee definitely recommend this place for people who starting there swimming journey .
Positive experience: Will definitely return. A public pool that is still actually public on weekend mornings . Now I say this as most local pools in the area accommodate swimming lessons and not open until after one for public swimming. So when I tried to find one for my boy whom awoke early on a Saturday morning and decided he wanted to swim this was the only local pool that was available for me to take him without a pre-booked swimming lesson. Well done and thank you Medows Leisure centre
Positive experience: Lovely pool, clean but very cold unfortunately
Negative experience: £33.50 to attend the gym as a one off none member :/
Fantastic experience: Good pool
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful staff across the board from management to reception and everyone in between. The gym, swimming pool and other parts of this building are exceptionally clean and tidy. Car parking could be an issue , but you can park at the back of the gym building near The Maghull Town Hall. Keep up the great standards everyone
Fantastic experience: Recently joined this gym/leisure centre. Firstly by comparison with my previous gym membership, this is cheap at £27 per month. I am over 69,so this is the concessionary rate. Secondly, this is a modern facility, with a pool, library, fitness and activity rooms. I have now been twice and have got a parking place both times and have not had to wait for apparatus. The staff are friendly and membership includes both the pool and participation in an extensive range of classes incl combat fitness, yoga, pilates, plus many more. So far, so good
Fantastic experience: Great.place to exercise and swim. Also a library here. Staff are friendly and helpful
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre for kids and adults, also outdoor equipment and play area . We went swimming ♂️ feel great
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely swim followed by steam room and sauna all for £1 - special over 60s rate Tuesday lunch!
Fantastic experience: Kids love rhymetime on Friday with Michael.
Positive experience: Could be a little more hygienic but staff are great
Fantastic experience: I've used all the facilities on this site since its opened, the pool is always clean, library has got smaller and gym expanded. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The biggest issue is the parking usually on a monday or Tuesday morning between 9 until 11, my advise is park close by and walk the extra 100 yards at these times. Overall good leisure
Positive experience: Great place
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean facilities
Fantastic experience: I have been trying to build up the courage to rejoin and go swimming. Staff member Gail was so helpful and understanding this morning that I am now booked in and feel excited about going
Positive experience: Lovely clean building, plenty of changing cubicles and lockers. Slightly overpriced at £6.20 for an adult swim.
Positive experience: Visited the library. Got the books I wanted.
Fantastic experience: All the staff are sound and the gym, pool and library are always well maintained.
Fantastic experience: All facilities are great
Negative experience: Good gym .sadly I give one star due to restricted times ..it's the most important thing .sorry but it is
Fantastic experience: Went for a swim here, really enjoyable experience. Staff were helpful and informative, fellow swimmers were very friendly. Will definitely be back
Positive experience: Only fault, car park full of gym people.
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean. Friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Great place to take the kids swimming
Fantastic experience: Brilliant swim even had two swim lanes. Very clean centre would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, helpful staff, plenty of classes
Fantastic experience: Great pub friendly staff.
Positive experience: Library staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great selection of books, lots of activities running for children
Fantastic experience: Without a membership you can use the library, and can take books home for a limited amount of time with a library card. However, with a membership (swimming or gym membership) you get access to a high tech gym with built in television channels, and headphone jacks with YouTube also included. With a swimming membership (or £4.50 for a swim without a membership) you get access to a medium sized pool to swim with friends or family, or just mess around. Overall, without a membership, you get a library, and for £4.50, a swim session. £1 is needed for a locker key however there is a locker key collected that gives you £1 upon return. Without a membership, I'd give it a 3.5/5, but with a membership 5/5. I you can shell out the money and live close, you should get a membership if you are interested in what I have described.
Fantastic experience: Great swimiming pool
Negative experience: Each and every time I’ve used the pool during the last 6 months I’ve ended up unwell, including sore throat and heavy colds. Hygiene around the pool area doesn’t seem a priority.
Fantastic experience: Great
Fantastic experience: Great facilities but, the amazing staff make it. Always polite, professional and friendly. Ladies and gents on reception Gale etc are a credit to the place as are the personal trainers. Have to give a well deserved shout out to Phil, Dave and Sam who are so dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable. Met some really nice people in their also. I only hope those within the heirarchy appreciate all the good work carried out by all the staff, cleaners included who make it a great place to be. Thanks . The only negative are, those lazy selfish individuals who, leave their equipment out. Obviously with the expectation that, someone will put it back for them. Makes me so angry. If you can't put the equipment away don't get it out. It's not down to the staff nor other users. Have some consideration
Fantastic experience: Staff are lovely, clean, pool is warm music on while you swim, very covid protected
Fantastic experience: Well equipped and clean, go at the right time and you can use equipment no queuing
Positive experience: A good gym a lot of new training machines lovely pool
Positive experience: Quiet nice facilities for casual swim. Best when no swimming lessons on as this can take up half of the pool.
Positive experience: Professional and friendly staff supporting my daughter in joining the gym
Fantastic experience: Good gym for price
Negative experience: Gym is good but the pool is so cold I couldn't get warm staff unfriendly.
Fantastic experience: Great place. Staff Brill. Very friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: This one of my favourite gyms which is upstairs with sauna and a nice set of bicycles for pedalling and also a separate room for peloton type stuff. There is an impressive set of weights and body-building equipment that would give Arnie Swarzeneger a run for his money. Down-stairs is lovely, it has a library and swimming pools, showers, and secure lockers. Outside there are other facilities including cycle track, five-a-side, with great play area for the kiddies which is also great for mums and dads to work- out on.
Fantastic experience: Great place
Negative experience: Covid innoculation queue outside in freezing temps. (people in their 70's) for almost an hour. Why not open more space inside for people to wait?
Positive experience: Pretty good COVID security by the centre, but unfortunately not by all the customers.
Fantastic experience: Still clean and well-managed
Positive experience: Visited library picked book.
Positive experience: I like swimming pool.
Fantastic experience: Sorry but the Blonde Lady is always fine with me.The Staff are brilliant in view of how busy it is there , there is anoverflow carpark available if you bear left around the building, stop moaners....
Positive experience: Ridiculously small carpark for the amount of members, maybe they should reduce the amount of memberships, I've just been and waited 15 minutes for a parking space, ended up coming home!
Fantastic experience: Lovely facilities. Always clean and staff are so helpful. Did the new circuit on Monday in the gym. Hard but good fun. Legs are a bit sore today and walking a bit funny but definitely doing it again!!!
Fantastic experience: Staff helpful, membership is reasonable, and always clean.
Positive experience: Facilities are great, but I have been caught out a few times by the gym randomly shutting early with no notice. The great facilities aren't much use when you are standing outside looking at them through the window. Really needs to be open later on the weekends as well.
Negative experience: Woman with blonde hair (oldish) who works at reception is very rude and snotty. Don’t want to be served by her again!
Negative experience: Staff in library not very helpful
Negative experience: My issue is with the car park, I find it amusing and ironic that retards park on a bend as soon as you enter the car park (where there isn't even any outlined designated spaces) rather than drive a short distance round the corner by the tennis courts where there is plenty of spaces they're going to a gym to exercise yet they'll park illegally to avoid walking a few more steps no wonder they're all fat an outa shape ♿
Negative experience: Gym often full of teenagers just sitting on the machines using their phones. As a paying member I would have preferred the addition of another studio (for classes) to be an extension to the gym, providing more space and equipment. Also the pool is often used for swimming lessons, not leaving even one lane for people who just want to swim.
Positive experience: If you work shifts like myself and manage to go during the day time it is great. If you aim to go after work then rubbish, it is full of kids sitting on machines on there phones and not actually using the machines, one time some teenager was hurling abuse at other members of the gym and even though staff are helpful they kind of ignored it and so did the childs mother which i am disgusted at.
Negative experience: Took my granddaughter here on Friday for a swim in the learner pool, she was playing with one of the pools toys , throwing it to the bottom of the pool and retrieving it from the bottom till one of the instructors asked for it back. My grandaughter then began using a long float that was at the side of the pool as did another little girl who was about 3 yrs old, along came the instructor again to take the floats from them saying " these are for schools, they only get ruined," how are little girls going to ruin them? Very mean spirited! We had paid around 9 pounds to use the LEARNER POOL why cant learners use these floats? We wont be visiting this pool again.
Fantastic experience: Good gym and a huge selection of classes, car park is to small.
Positive experience: The kids lessons are great, but the smell of the gents toilets is unacceptable. Please install flushing urinals and please clear it.
Negative experience: The most exercise I got was walking to the gym after being denied entry. A simple day pass doesn't exist, you must book in appointments but you also need to have an induction. I was told to leave my number in order for them to contact me at a later date... I tried to find answers to this online last night but there are various websites to flick between showing how excellent the gym is but very little content regarding access to it.
Negative experience: Gym is very small (free weights area) , not open long enough on weekends, full of kids who do not use the equipment properly. Cannot wait till my 12 months are over so I can go to a better gym
Fantastic experience: Staff are really nice my friend is so nervous of the pool but she really feels happy in the small pool giving her more conference to learn to swim
Positive experience: Not a bad gym but don't like the pool
Negative experience: Lovely gym and the staff couldn't be more friendly but, some of members to the gym NEED to have a small towel to wipe down the machines after them ! Honestly , I have never seen such sweat left on the seats/ headrests ! It's a matter of manners in as much as if you do sweat , then think of the people using the machines after you ! Please management , put up some notices making this compulsory as it's surely a health matter.
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff and great equipment
Positive experience: Good Facilities, but the pools are always booked out for classes, try to take my baby swimming to teach her and mon-fri the whole baby pool is booked out by private lessons 95% of the time up to 5pm or later, sometimes only 2 children in a lesson. other centres section pool off e.g Formby. Also main pool is hard to get into due to lessons, some days up to 9pm at night which leaves 1 hour 9pm-10pm. centre needs to cater for members and at least leave 1-2 lanes open for public swimming.
Negative experience: Library staff very unhelpful
Fantastic experience: Excellent Center for the Family , Library , sports hall , gym , swimming pools and a large car park with ample grassed fields.
Fantastic experience: Great staff
Fantastic experience: As a newbie this gym has a great feel and the staff are lovely warm people love the place
Positive experience: Add a time to when the LIBARY opens.
Positive experience: Changed my life
Fantastic experience: Excellent equipment, very helpful staff, clean health spa, classes well worth trying.
