Negative experience: Not sure what happened today (19/12) but it felt like the amount of people on the ice rink was out of control… entry tickets and skate rental tickets were not checked (could have gone in for free!)… left after 45mins as it was not enjoyable due to the lack of space and felt insecure… not sure if there is a safe capacity defined (and if it is how it’s monitored if there is no control on the amount of people coming in through ticket checking)

Fantastic experience: Really friendly people here. Super kind to our kids and did a good range of bacon baps and sausage rolls. Still got two tickets left so will be back.

Fantastic experience: I honestly didn't pay too much attention to anyone else whilst here. It was my first time back here after having a bad ice skating accident back when I was a teen, so nerves definitely there. I can safely say I stayed in two feet the whole time, and my family and friends had a really good time. My youngest 3yr she was skating just holding onto one hand. The time you get for your money is really good. Wish I was a little closer.

Positive experience: Great multipurpose leisure centre. Even has an Elite League ice hockey team. From my personal use, it's to watch the hockey from an away fans prospective. Honestly, it isn't fit for the purpose of Elite hockey, but there isn't another option and has been used for years. Seating is made up of benches on the away side. Can't really say what the other locations are like.... Capacity is small, ice sheet narrow, and access is via the swimming pool! I'm sure the other facilities are great, and facilities the Spectrum has in bundles!

Negative experience: Ridiculous. This place of my childhood has turned into a shambles. LED lighting is too blue and streaky. Unfriendly staff. PINS ON STRINGS on some of the bowling lanes, even though they previously told me that would never happen. No spin dryer nor inclusive towels at the gym spa or swimming areas. Male changing room showers have no cubicles. Dirty leisure pool. Rusty metal poles. Poor quality fast food (some of the most iconic restaurants previously here have now closed down). It's like a greenhouse here in the summer. Every member of the gym is half my age. This place really needs a lot of maturing and to promote adult gym members rather than purely just secondary school juniors if it wants to remain in business.

Positive experience: Spectrum offers a host of activities including swimming, ice skating plus ice hockey matches, judo and potentially ballet lessons. The catering was very basic and at times had long queues with what i thought were over priced offerings. ( Surrey pricing, no doubt). However venue appears very popular especially with young people due to activities offered and socialising in clean and genial surroundings.

Positive experience: spacious gym with lots of weights and benches , lots of warm-up equipment and some multi gym machines. At one point I thought it was a bit too cold, but some do enjoy the fresh air more than heat. Sauna and shower could be cleaner and out of outdoor shoes area.

Negative experience: We went to the Spectrum swimming last week and honestly I was quite appalled hence leaving a review….! We have been ice skating and to the snow globe events and whilst pricey if you add on skate aids and busy, the staff are very attentive and it’s a lot of fun. Also the soft play is absolutely great value for money and I particularly like that there’s an ‘adult’ way up so that you don’t have to climb through the same small holes. The same view cannot be given of the swimming pool. It is dated with paint chipping and mould everywhere. Not only that, but the young teenage life guards were more interested in messing about with each other and pretending to push each other in than ACTUALLY keeping an eye on the swimmers. After getting changed I asked where the hair dryers were… we were directed to 4 whereby 2 had no hoses attached to them, and one had a broken hose. It was such a let down for the price and overall really grubby. Definitely do not recommend!!!

Negative experience: Took 2 year old swimming in the leisure lagoon, it's all filthy. Very over crowded, should have been at least only half of the people at a time allowed in the pool. My little one got diarrhea and sickness the next day after swimming, we also saw poo in the pool. Lots of things not working in the lagoon or turned off and also a few things appeared mouldy and broken. Really needs to be looked after and deep cleaned and the fact it made my little boy ill is absolutely awful. Won't be returning.

Fantastic experience: Wow, this place is amazing with so many activities that you can do: ice skating, swimming, badminton, pickle ball, and many others. The swimming pool is really cool and looks like a holiday resort. Lots of parking available. Great venue for children too.

Fantastic experience: Weekday afternoon ice-skating sessions are great - lots of space and plenty of time on the ice. Free parking is a bonus.

Positive experience: As I curved a delicious bowl into the gap between the first and third pins I turned my back fist pumping knowing that I was guaranteed my first strike of the day. Upon turning back to lane I noticed that there was still a pin standing "impossible" I exclaimed. Little did I realise spectrum had hired elves to work in the bowling machines and tie string around the pins effecting the physics of the game. Bring back the good old days where pins could move freely, nice new carpet though..... #freethepins #nostringsattached

Although we don’t have any rooms for rent at the Guildford Spectrum, we do have plenty of fun activities like ice skating, bowling, and swimming. No early check-in fees here just a great time whenever you arrive! If you do fancy a workout or a skate next time, we’re ready when you are!

Negative experience: I wanted to use the athletic track on a Sunday. First nobody answered the phone. After making my way there, a very unhelpful front desk staff told me the track would be close for maintenance between 5 and 6pm, and that I could use it only from 6pm onwards. I watched the track from 5 to 6 and no work at all happened. 0/5 for the staff welcoming and helpfulness, but the track is in great condition - if you can access it.

Fantastic experience: Amazing time for the family. You can ice skate, swim, bowl and eat. It s a perfect full day of activities. As for burrito locco, the full protein one is quite big, but has too much rice in it. The prices are fair to what you are getting. I would recommend !

Negative experience: The place itself seems nice inside but the car park is very dangerous in the rain. I went today with my kids to do ice skating and bowling and it was raining. I didn't fully notice there are greenish ripped bits of god knows what all in the carpark and i stepped on one sending my right leg flying forward and my left leg flying backwards causing me to hit the floor in a splits fashion...the pain is so bad i have been having trouble walking all day.. this really needs to be fixed not for the fact that i may have really injured my right hip now due to this but somone could really badly hurt themselves as its extremely slippery... it needs sorting asap before somthing terrible happens to someone else

Positive experience: All in all we had a lovely visit. The bowling alley looks nice and we enjoyed the food at the diner there. We were dripped on a bit while skating because the roof is leaking. Also both customer lifts leading to the pools and ice rink were out of order. Not great for wheelchair or pushchair users.

Positive experience: It does what it says on the tin - you get to skate which is fun. But the place itself is run down and pretty dirty. Needs a bit of a revamp.

Negative experience: Bad experience paid for a game of bowling only to have the machine turned off before we finished and told that they close at 10pm which we were unaware of. Would have been nice to gets a heads up at 9:30 that they close at 10pm

Fantastic experience: As only my second visit to Spectrum, I wanted to explore the facility a little more. We went for the leisure swim with my 5 year old and there was plenty there to keep her occupied for 90 minutes (booking slots are an hour and a half and indicated by different coloured wrist bands). There were plenty of lockers and family change units available at the time we went which was handy although at busier times I guess this could be an issue. The range of water slides and 'fun' elements was good although the waves weren't working on our visit. It was about £30 for the three of us which I thought was quite steep but can't really compare as there is nowhere else quite like this nearby to where we live. We travelled 45 minutes to get here. The centre has a gym, adult swimming pool, ice rink (we saw Guildford Flames in a training session from the observation area), a ten pin bowling alley and more. There are a number of eateries to choose from and we ventured down to the ten pin bowling for a quick lunch. Pleased with the pricing and food choices - my daughter wants to come back and try the bowling as she has never done it before. Outside, there is a huge green park nearby and I believe an outdoor splash park, ample parking and the whole place is easy to find. All in all, well worth a visit and we will come again.

Fantastic experience: Such a well kept , clean and enjoyable place to visit. One of the best swimming pools we’ve been to hands down. Prices of the centre’s activities are extremely respectable and affordable. It’s on lovely grounds which are well kept and although all the staff seem rather young, they were very helpful and friendly. Food was purchased. Hot dogs are a hit with the children , and their choice for sandwiches drinks and chips are great. I would not recommend the burger place unfortunately. Their burger was horrendous, didn’t taste like pork or bbq and gave us an upset yummy later that day, as well as sadly being over priced. Would definitely recommend the other options down stairs or taking a picnic for afters :)

Negative experience: Wave pool not working. Lazy river not working. Queues for slides insanely long; you spend most of your 90 min slot in a queue. It’s quite expensive for what it is. However, the temperature was not too cold and there was no shortage of changing rooms even though it was really busy and crowded in the pool.

Positive experience: My family and I recently spent a day at Guildford Spectrum and we had an absolute blast. The pool slides were amazing, with plenty of lifeguards on duty to ensure everyone's safety. The water temperature was just right, nice and warm, and all the slides were age-appropriate so even the little ones could join in on the fun. One thing that really stood out to me was how well the time spent in the pool was managed. It never felt overcrowded, which meant we could all enjoy ourselves without feeling cramped or rushed. There was even a designated photographer on hand to capture some great moments, and the photos turned out fantastic with a picturesque background to boot. The only downside I found was the single changing unit, which felt a bit cramped and bit of a maze layout. However, once we switched to the group changing room, things were much better. The facility was clean, which is always a plus when spending a day out with the family. After our time in the pool, we all left feeling happy and hungry. Overall, our experience at Guildford Spectrum was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out with the kids.

Fantastic experience: Took the grandchildren to the ice skating, very good, the criticism we have is,for two people nearly 80, there is no where to sit unless you go upstairs to the cafe which does not put us on hand for the children. Also the only way to get a decent drink ( as the one in the drink machine was awful) is to bring hot drinks down to the rink. Definitely needs sorting

Fantastic experience: I love skating at Guildford Spectrum, the ice is well maintained and the staff are friendly. If you figure skate, and can’t afford/haven’t passed level 8 skate UK so cannot use training ice, the public sessions allow spins (but not jumps), so you are able to practice if you wish to do so. My only criticism is training ice is pricey at £16 per session.

Negative experience: We went swimming today (8th August 24) and it was absolutely disgusting!! The toilets were filthy, the floor in the toilets were covered in wet toilet paper. There was clumps of wet hair all over the floor as well as floating in the pool. There was a sock on the side of the pool. Food on the floor in the changing rooms. Also found theres not a lot of room here either. My little one was constantly being trodden on while on the way to the pool. Also would be nice if the shuttle bus ran from the station.

Positive experience: The ice skating rink is nice and big, the rented ice skates however feel a bit cheap and rarely sit too well on your feet. The bowling alley is quite a nice place to play and have some fun. The food as well is at a reasonable price and tastes nice.

Positive experience: Such a great place to bring your family to enjoy the multiple events. Swimming, ice skating, bowling, a full day of entertainment. Love swimming here especially when access to all pools is available, check before booking as the diving from the dive board is pretty cool and available. Not a 5 star location just due to age. Staff are brilliant so don't be put off, go and enjoy yourself here.

Fantastic experience: We take our son here for swimming lessons and we highly recommend the spectrum. The lessons have a good variation of time and days available with good tracking of your child’s progress. All the staff are fantastic but a special mention has to go to Lana the poolside coordinator. She is so good with all the children and organising the lessons (and parents) to ensure a smooth ship is running. five stars just for Lana too

Positive experience: There's bowling, ice-skating and swimming (plus more). Inside is great but be aware that car park very busy and the spaces suit smaller cars. Even with the best in-between lines parking, you still may clip the car next to you trying to get out. Better off with a small car!

Positive experience: We booked for soft play here, which is great although if you go with any children younger than 5yrs be prepared to go round with them. We obviously weren't prepared for that so found it hard to keep up with the kids. Other than that it was a great experience for us and the children, highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Kids loved the swimming here. The slide and highboards made for a good chuckle as well. Price is a little high, but then again, who hasn't raised prices recently. Changing rooms a little chaotic and some bits dirty but it's a public swimming pool what do you expect. Allrond fun but take your own food and drink and the shops are expensive! Hotdogs are £5 and coffee is pricey as well.

Negative experience: Cons: Filthy changing area (the child seat seat looks like it’s never ever been cleaned and there was poo on it), very cold showers, needs refurbishment (a baby change unit just fell and hit my friend’s child’s head), overpriced photos (£12 just to print 1 photo and you don’t even get a digital version unless you pay £40+ for all photos). Pros: Fun, great for kids, really great photographer, reasonably priced food. I don’t think I’ll be returning here until they sort out their hygiene standards and fix up things properly.

Negative experience: I decided to go spectrum as I remembered swimming there as a young youth. To my surprise nothing had changed (not in a good way) not a single rust pipe, not a single stair not a single tile (wouldn’t be surprised if was the same water too) the slides were shut the wave pool waved less then my wavering lip as I held back tears of dissatisfaction staff were miserable save your self the disappointment go to coral reef

Negative experience: The swimming pool/leisure complex is absolutely rank. I have visited many different leisure centres throughout my life and this was by far the worst & grossest one. We booked a session at the leisure pool and left after 10 mins, requested a refund & will not be coming back. On arrival the changing rooms were so disgusting it was honestly impossible to find a piece of floor without a dirty nappy, a used pad or other dirt on it. Many of the changing rooms had broken doors and it smelled like urine so I asked one of the lifeguards to call somebody and clean a bit. She said shes on it but 15-20 mins later as we were changing & leaving still nothing was being done... Instead there were 8 other lifeguards sitting, laughing and discussing their weekend plans at the front desk. Both jacuzzis were broken but this was not mentioned on the website. Half the slides were either not working or shut for no reason. There were some fake eyelashes floating in the water. The leisure area was so overcrowded it was impossible to get to any of the very few activities. We thought maybe we can at least use the time to go for a swim in the main pool but no - it was closed off for lessons which also wasn't mentioned on the website. The images of this place available online are either AI generated or were taken at least 20-30 years ago because nothing looks the same anymore. Slides are covered by rust and the place is extremely dirty. There is lots of mould , hair and body fat on the floors and in the showers. The water in the pool has so much chlorine I could barely keep my eyes open... maybe those who run this place think that topping up chlorine but not actually cleaning anything else will do the job? All the lifeguard are kids around 15-17 years of age and all mostly clueless. There are no adults around to keep an eye on whats going on and the duty manager was sitting at main reception upstairs chatting away not bothered by anything. When I went to speak to him he wasn't even slightly surprised by anything I said and gave me the requested refund (the only reason why I gave one star).

Positive experience: Great place for the family... The changing rooms were a VERY BUSY, crazy, not so clean maze!!! Staff did come and clean it if you asked but it should be a regular scheduled thing due to the number of people... We had a good time!!!

Fantastic experience: Really good! Lots of activities! My favourite part is circus skills you don't have to book it. It is also cheap there is no age limit and for all abilities you can bring your own stuff but the leader brings a suitcase full of stuff he will help you or you can do your own thing. He is also your friend. It is every other Sunday 7:00 - 9:00.

Negative experience: DON'T BOOK YOUR KIDS PARTY HERE. Booked my sons 10th birthday in the spectrum. It was disorganised start to finish, the activity team (outsourced) were pretty good but when it was time for the 15 kids to finish and go for the pre-booked food, the team didn't know where to send us and sent us to the wrong place. Having to navigate 15 children from one side of the very busy complex to the other was difficult enough without any guidance, all staff refused to assist and just palmed it off onto someone else. We eventually found a kids party room which we were told was ours. Once we were in the and settled, another member of staff came in aggressively and told us we're in the wrong room and to get out. So eventually we are taken to our area, which was just the cafe upstairs, no table set up yet, and told to just sit in the busy queue area. Overall a poor experience in terms of communication and service, exemplified by the fact I was promised a call by the manager to discuss the week following - that was now 3 months ago and no communication received

Positive experience: The bar needs improvement. There were only 2 beers on draught. There was a good energy in the bowing alley until it it glitched out and ended our game early at the critical moment. Staff were friendly, hot dog was crublier than the surface of Mercury. Positive experience: Rock box party was really well organised, 2 friendly instructors. Everybody ( 18 x 11 year olds) had great time climbing to the top of the towers ( 9 different kinds to suit different abilities). Food was pretty basic nuggets / pizza but the kids loved it. Would recommend

Fantastic experience: So much to do. The ice rink was great and the swimming pool is fantastic! Kids love the slides and I love the jacuzzi
Positive experience: We come here regularly for ice skating and have used other facilities for pool etc, the place does need a refurb it’s run down a bit. Also the ice skating there is no actual memberships for regular ice skaters which is frustrating so we’re left paying the weekly fee which gets quite expensive
Negative experience: Really disappointing visit to the pool on 2nd march. Really strong smell of chemicals in the girls toilet- felt like I couldn’t breathe and kids were going in there! Moody pool staff and wave machine was late. Went to get hot dogs from the table upstairs and the guy closed at 5pm on a Sunday with two burgers still available that he wouldn’t sell us! Lots of kids would still be in the centre doing soft play or bowling! Got sent to the bowling alleys to get one from there and they had nothing either! With the amount people in there they should have had more at only 5pm!! For what they charge at the spectrum, the quality of the centre and the fact that they charge extra in the school holidays it really isn’t worth it. A waste of money and poorly looked after.

Fantastic experience: The Spectrum has everything you could want in a sports complex. My 13-year-old grandson goes to mattrass here and loves it. My 11-year-old grandson currently has diving lessons and loves that.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place to bring your children (or enjoy yourself) to some sports activities, either ice skating, swimming, karate, bowling or other exciting things. The centre is big and spacious, they also have a cafe, and a big car park.

Negative experience: Good bits - ice rink is a full size rink and very reasonably priced. 90 min session pays off for a bit of chaos. Half decent skates. Go for plastic - not figure skating ones. It would solid 4 stars or even 5 minus. But we also went swimming..... Not so good bits or why just one star. Leisure swimming pool is atrocious. So much chlorine that half of folks were coughing their lungs out. Packed as sardines in a tin. Showers not working. Toilets are filthy. Changing rooms are packed, chaotic and disgusting. Filthy cabins, floors, benches - you name it. Awful. Otherwise lots of free parking, cafe and a little bar, hot dog stand... no complains there.

Negative experience: booked 16.30 - 18.00 on Sunday for leisure and general swimming session....after 15 mins 16.45 they close main pool, 15 min later toddler pool and from 5pm to 6pm we adults can used only splash pool for babies and some slides. In terms and conditions are no words about limitations. Paid full price for nothing!!!! just 2 showers working in the lady's changing room for so many people....please avoid.

Negative experience: Extremely poor, came here today for a sports event and Extremely disappointed with the facilities provided more then half of the male toilets were closed for " maintenance " and the ones that was open has not been cleaned regularly at all. For such a place that offers food and drink as well as sports you would of assumed that on the days they have big events they would have more staff on to keep the place hygienic.

Negative experience: Went ice skating on a Saturday afternoon. Very busy made worse by the fact that they had a third of the main ring closed for lessons during a public skate session. Way too many people allowed onto the ice, was not enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: One day is just not enough for such an amazing place packed with so many activities! We can just choose two at a time. Ice skating, swimming, soft play, climbing, bowling…..And hiking around the area. It’s actually a centre Parcs based in Guildford!

Positive experience: Went Ice skating today, booked online. £10 for the penguin I though was very expensive ontop of skate hire and a ticket. Anyway.... we all had a lovely time. Dropping a star because the place is filthy dirty, toilets are disgusting and the floors too. This could be such an amazing facility. Skating staff were all really pleasant. Loads of free parking. The cafe had a great selection of sandwiches and a kids lunch box too. Wish we loved closer to here. Lockers are 20p but if you ask the people at the skate hire will give you one. The lockers keep the money. Ice slate rink was fab lovely and big and we enjoyed our 90 min skate.
