Positive experience: It is a really good gym with lots of equipment. Unfortunately, some parts are too crammed but I am fine with that ad there is lots of equipment. Sometimes, I do not feel safe in the locker rooms and gym as there are a few people who give me unnecessary dirty looks. The gym does have a friendly environment overall, and there are lots of people here who will get out of their way, just to give you advice and help if needed. Other than that, I think this is a great gym overall and that if you can get the membership, you should definitely come here and have a try.

Negative experience: 01/1202024 1⭐️ Saturday and Sunday the gym was abandoned, very dirty and the cleaning station was completely inoperative Outubro 2024 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ great location, good service, flexible schedule, new equipment, great cleanliness All of our gyms have over 50+ classes each week included in your membership and are great for anyone looking to do fitness classes. However, PureGym Nottingham Beeston and Nottingham Basford timetables run slightly longer through the day than our other Nottingham gyms. The class timetable varies between gyms so check the individual gym pages to see which works best for you!

Negative experience: Mostly it's a pretty standard PureGym, but I've got to say I'm really disappointed at the state of the free weights area. Every time I go in there's at least a dozen dumbells, Barbells, plates, as well as scraps of cleaning roll littered all over the floor. I appreciate there are signs telling people to rack their weights, but some people are just inconsiderate and it's the responsibility of the staff to do regular checks and clean away the area for safety reasons if nothing else. I'm sure the staff are very busy, but I've never once seem them do that.

However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym. We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team. Negative experience: Shower is rubbish Get off every 5 seconds Saving money
Hi Imdadi, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Positive experience: I’ve been a loyal member at this gym for three years now, consistently renewing my student pass because it’s always been a great place to train. Recently, I noticed that the lateral raise machine—a go-to for my side delt workouts—has been removed. I’d love to know if there are plans to bring it back since I’ll need to adjust my training otherwise. Overall, I appreciate the gym's recent updates, and the friendly staff and fun environment are definite highlights. However, there are some changes that feel counterproductive. There are empty spaces around, yet half the machines, especially the leg equipment, are clustered closely together, making it a bit cramped and awkward to navigate. Some additions, like the Viking press machine, seem redundant given that the gym already has a versatile Smith machine for leg exercises. Despite these points, it’s still a solid gym that I’d recommend. A few layout tweaks would make it even better!!!!!!!! :))))

Positive experience: I go when it seems like I won't be disturbed (which is usually the case). It would be good to have more space so one isn't doging between the machines (namely the TRX machines and the leg raising ones) when they're being used - people's limbs coming out definitely makes one alert to dodge and sometimes the Users of these machines (which I used to be until I was so annoyed with not being able to use them fully) don't feel they can get an effective workout due to feeling the need to hold back (from putting all their effort into pulling/raising) due to the lack of space between themselves and others walking to another machine/workout area past the TX and leg raising machines. I hope the renovations being done currently include more machine space so these machines can be used properly and safely

Negative experience: Pure gym members have been waiting for years for the old fixed weights machines to be replaced and had to put up with waiting for broken machines to be repaired which took ages . Now they have just been replaced with a lot less kit and popular fixed weight machines have gone completely and not even been replacedat all.. . Disgusting way to treat your gym members .
Hi Richard. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible. If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: This puregym has gone downhill, used to love coming here. However I have now decided to leave when my month is up. Female changing rooms have had gross smelly drains that fill the air when you walk on. This has been for at least 6 months or longer- nothing has changed despite reporting it for months and leaving feedback via their website, in the gym and online customer service. There was a water spillage in a walkway that didn’t get attended to, everyone ignoring this, accident waiting to happen. The floor in the studio class space is furnished with dust balls and hair- clearly not been cleaned thoroughly in recent times (this was not a days worth of dust) Gym is in need of basic maintenance!! Everywhere looks dirty and smelly. Such a shame! Unfortunately would not recommend this anymore, even as a no frills gym option.

Negative experience: Decent gym but the wifi don’t work! Drained all me hotspot at the gym when they’re advertising free wifi! Also prices go up every other month! Paying £23 for a normal membership is quite ridiculous!

Negative experience: Really bad with fixing machines. Machine broken for weeks and seems like nothing care enough to fix it

Positive experience: Can get too overcrowded at times but in general it's a good gym for a fair price and clean changing room and shower facilities.
Negative experience: Too many equipment keeps breaking down, some things haven't been looked at for awhile should be spotted
Fantastic experience: Open demon hours
Negative experience: Why in God's name do they not have the spin room sealed off from the rest of the gym. Why am I subjected to the music and voice of the instructor each time a spin class is on. It's loud enough in there already without adding more noise!
Positive experience: Nah crowded and less in equipments
Fantastic experience: Lauren is great, the class is really motivating, loud music and fast paced. Can she do more ?

Negative experience: Must be one of the worst puregyms I’ve been to, desperately needs a refurb, weights are always everywhere never put back and people aren’t told to, hand sanitizer is never filled, toilets aren’t cleaned and nowhere else is

Negative experience: Completely inappropriate PT session nearly killed me, writing this in hospital caused by this gym. If a new starter to the gym AVOID!!! Edit: I tried sending an email and was given a response by a robot trying to get me to book a class. I will need an email address that will be read by a human. P.S my name isn’t Andy

Negative experience: The female and male pts here are not very nice as people. A lot of them give you dirty looks and gossip to there clients about you if they don’t like you or you look a certain way.. you can smile at them and they will give you dirty looks back especially the female personal trainers.

Negative experience: Has to be the scruffiest PureGym I’ve been in outside of London; nobody puts weight backs and the ones on the rack are all in the wrong place, like a place for gang wars

Fantastic experience: Wow, yes finally I managed to joined the beautiful gym, the staff make you feel so welcome, I met two lovely ladies that work there, both of them are fantastic. I had my induction with beautiful Kate, inside is lovely so many equipments for you to enjoy. I am so happy to joined the gym, I'm looking forward for all the excitement, meeting new people and making friends and have a wonderful time !

Positive experience: Came here for years. It is decent for a budget gym however, the equipment very rarely gets cleaned! High amount of dust and dirt on the base of the treadmills. The cleanliness of the changing rooms at the weekend also needs to be improved. The parking isn't great - ever since a supermarket has opened in the same location, going to the gym at peak times is pretty much impossible if you need to drive there. Many people resort to making their own spaces but this isn't always done well. Quite a high turnover of PT's but shout out to Kate - her classes are generally the best classes there.

Positive experience: It's a decent budget chain gym that's spacious and clean. Unfortunately every time I go there's always dumbbells and plates left on the floor by gym users. Another issue i notice is the tailgaters in the revolving doors, I rarely see staff near the entrance to prevent this.

Positive experience: A good gym, only downside is the showers no hot water.

Negative experience: EDIT 21.12.23: In addition to below, showers icecold for two weeks, and now not working at all. Puregym should reimburse its members, at least in part. The noise here is unbearable. I feel sorry for my ears. No chance to even listen to my own music. It's an inconsiderate youth culture here. Ok for training but the noise pollution is just nasty, meaning the volume they put that 'music' on. My own tunes over headphones don't keep the racket out. It's inconsiderate. Hence, only two stars

Negative experience: If I could give it zero stars I would. Almost well equipped but the staff did not care about noone putting any weights away and unlike their Wilford and Castle marina gym counterparts they clearly weren't putting everything away on an evening either. Maybe because it's 24hrs I don't know but ain't no way I'll be coming back and since it's my local puregym now will probably be the reason I leave puregym. Utter utter chaos.

Fantastic experience: can u join the gym if your 13 i know your not allowed to do weights at a young age you have to be 16 and above but could you do treadmills as you run because i wanted to go to the gym with my cousin for some time and i know your probably going to say im to young but could we go with someone like a adult over the age off 18 and i do want to do weights but as i already said u have to be 16 but if i cant go because im to young its fine i was just asking anyway

Negative experience: Inside the gym is very cold in the winter, every heater I was standing in front of it, it blows cold air and in the Summer it’s other way around as all air cons blow hot air . Since winter started I just keep getting ill in the gym as it’s really cold. No clue what they are doing. This gym getting going down hill .

Negative experience: They have changed it too much. Made it smaller and took machines away. The ones the do have. They have put way to close to.the others. So when you put weights on your touching next machine near enough. They have Put the price up. Thinking about leaving now

Positive experience: I use lots of different PureGym - love the size and variety of equipment in Notts . The downside is not really the gyms fault but the members - nothing is out away , bars left loaded and no one wipes anything down but no one challenges any of the members that do it …. It means my workout takes even longer getting set up .

Negative experience: No other gyms in the area so had to join though I heard bad reviews about it before. Extremely busy and packed during the day and literally of no use . I couldn’t park and was too late to cancel a class! Been in touch with the gym management regarding this but and the reply was : “it is your responsibility to ensure you are arriving in time for the class. This includes leaving enough time to get parked during our busy times”

Positive experience: Nice gym but gets way too packed, also i seen a spare spot in the corner next to the leg extension machine, they could really do with a hack squat machine there, not sure how to suggest that.
Thanks for your review! Our gyms are very popular and can become busy, especially at peak times! The busyness does fluctuate throughout the day, and from day-to-day. There is a section on the website and the app which shows how many people are in at that time which is a great way to help plan your session.

Negative experience: Cheap price is good. But they have started closing off a weights area to run classes in when there is an empty area for classes. Most irritating is when the personal trainers turn their microphone volume full blast so the whole gym has to suffer their shouting when not doing the class

Positive experience: They have a variety of different workout machines for everyone to use for any kind of workout, they have cleaning equipment, the Pure Gym app is very good as it tells you how many people are inside. There are also videos on how to use the machines. Very useful for beginners (like me)

Negative experience: I've just started going to this gym and went over to a member of staff to ask where a certain machine was. I was instantly and aggressively met with "You can't be in here, I have a class", (he didn't actually have a class at that point and was just moving things around to set up). There wasn't even the manners to say hello, so not a great first impression of this gym unfortunately.

Positive experience: I wrote a review before that doesn't reflect the TLC that this place needed and has happened. New machines and a new layout has really helped this place feel a lot better as a gym. Really pleased to attend.

Negative experience: Disabled access an utter shambles , had to carry a man in a wheel chair up two flights of stairs and down again as the lift was out of service ... apparently out of action for almost a year...truly a bad experience

Negative experience: I go to this gym a lot, but I haven't been over Christmas as I wanted a break. I went to train on the Monday 27th at 7am when it should be open. No information to say why it's closed, no sign showing Christmas opening times. The app says to check inside the gym for Christmas opening hours? That's great but when I can't get in, how can I check? Surely there should be a sign on the entrance with Christmas opening times if your shutting the gym?? Extremely poor communication.

Negative experience: Cancelled membership. Cleaner so disrespectful, running on a treadmill and she sprays the cleaning spray next to you as if you're not there. I told her not to do that as I'm breathing it, and her response is "then you carry on breathing it then". Seriously, who wants to work out in a gym like this when you have disrespectful staff roaming around like that.

Positive experience: The gym is ideal for working shifts or away from home as I can use different ones across the country. But they are in desperate need for more plates. There is no where near enough. Also the dumbbells could do with going higher, similar to xercise4less

Positive experience: It's okay, competitive membership fees, open 24hrs, clean, lots of choice of machines, variety of classes, clean changing rooms and free parking. Only thing I'm not keen on is the music choices and sound levels as it is difficult to hear my own music through my headphones because the studio noise is loud. If I was being picky I would say could do with light and bright decor as it's a big dark and more television screens for entertainment as you work out. Price is a key factor. If they increased prices I would join another gym or cancel.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Puregym! I feel comfortable and if I need any help there’s always staff on hand to help. Great atmosphere in the gym everyone is friendly and the PT’s are great. A special shoutout to Rowan his classes are amazing and he brings such good energy to the gym. I’ve enjoyed the gym more since he’s started, you notice the difference when he’s not there!

Positive experience: I cant express how much I love pure gym, the atmosphere, the Personal trainers and the equipment but I’m disappointed that the 15min break between classes has been taken away. This leaves no time to clean the equipment used in the first class, so the next class starts late, and has a knock on effect on the rest of the classes. It feels more rushed. To be more specific, I attend Rowans cycle class which I love as he is so uplifting and I come out of his classes feeling like I’ve had a good workout but I also attend Renae’s amazing Zumba class which starts at the same time Cycles finishes, meaning I have to leave before Rowans class has even finished or miss the start of Zumba ☹️☹️☹️

Negative experience: Very busy all the time. Lucky if you can get a bench or set of weights. Weights usually taken by one person taking about 4 sets to themselves. Suggest maybe a limit of the amount if dumbells you can have in one go. Appreciate people do super sets but sometimes it ridiculous the amount people have. Staff seem pleasant and I know they can't help people hogging equipment it's just frustrating, maybe a sign up? I regularly use the pure gym at Mansfield and don't experience issues like this.

Positive experience: GYM is good and has everything you need to work anything you want. It does get very busy doing peak hours and it will be hard to find equipments that are free.

Positive experience: Considering permanently changing gyms to this gym so have been in to train a few times to see what it’s like. Abit small compared to my usual gym x4L but still has majority of the equipment you need. Could really do with more mirrors as there’s no mirrors in the functional area so how are people meant to watch their squats, hip thrusts etc? And could definately do with more variety of weights in the studio like heavier dumbbells, kettlebells etc as the area next to the studio is always packed so nowhere else to do a workout with free weights where you have a mirror infront of you. Benches in the free weights area are so cramped and there’s nowhere else in that area to workout if you’re trying to exercise without a bench but again, no mirrors in the functional area so if you were to use free weights there you can’t see what you’re doing. Would be a lot more spacious if the areas weren’t sectioned off with the walls but overall decent gym

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I've been coming here for years. The location is great and very accessible. What I love the most about this gym are the fitness classes. The classes are excellent! I love Rowan's classes as they fun and he is brilliant at keeping you motivated and entertained at the same time. All the PT's are great, very friendly and approachable and they want you to achieve your fitness goals no matter how big or small they are!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to PureGym Basford for a month and now I love going to the gym! I have taken a couple of classes - all which I have booked through the app - which were well set up, the instructor (Lance) is very approachable and the classes are great! I have used the equipment in this gym and everything is spotless. Other gymgoers are attentive in cleaning their equipment and I feel safe with the covid measures in place.

Fantastic experience: Good gym always busy sometimes waiting for other people to come off to start my workout.. not everyone is cleaning the equipment after use which I don't agree with as people should learn and clean after use.. we do not want to be in a lock down again staff should take more care and keep an eye on they work place as hardly any staff is present..

Positive experience: Just been in to PureGym Basford as I was thinking of changing where I train. Met by a familiar smiling face of a very very good PT that we knew from a previous gym. Had a look around the gym, new layout is nice, great variation of kit with the addition of a functional area which looks great. Long story short, I'm joining on Tuesday and looking forward to it.

Negative experience: I am a plus member, my home gym is baseford but thought I'd pop in here from work. I get through the first door then the second door denies me access, just then get a text saying I do not have access at this time. Isn't being a plus member allowing me access to all pure gyms in UK? I can understand if it was peak time but this was 4.30am. It left me confused and embarrassed.

Positive experience: I finally enjoy going to the gym, it's a cheap gym in comparrion to a lot of gyms in nottingham. I never really find myself waiting long (if ever) for a machine. People are friendly in the gym, I was intimidated at first but were all there for the same reason. However during Covid, I don't see many people following the guidelines, such as cleaning their machines once done.
