Fantastic experience: Everything about the place oozes class

Negative experience: The bridge at the entrance is rotten under foot and your feet sink unnervingly as you walk over them. The lovey pond that used to be under the bridge has now gone - we were told due to a problem with rats. We certainly saw the rat traps. We go to the swimming pool every week for swimming lessons. The changing rooms are consistently dirty with puddles of dirty, slimy, hair-ridden water over the floor. Numerous times, I have told staff that the changing rooms are filthy but it never makes any difference. Repairs in the changing rooms and around the pool are bodged at best. One of the windows surrounding the pool has dropped down in the frame, leaving a 1-2 inch gap open to the elements. It's been like this for over a year but nothing has ever been done about it. Feedback to staff never makes any difference.

Fantastic experience: Lovely caravans and lovely cafe

Negative experience: Food took over an hour to arrive, despite the place not bring busy. When it did finally arrive I got the tiniest piece of fish I’ve ever seen on my fish and chips. By this point I was so hungry I just ate it anyway. Will not be back, avoid this place!!

Positive experience: Nice course, well kept, friendly staff great food and cold beer. Just what you need after playing golf in 34 degrees!!

Fantastic experience: The serenity of the environment is second to none. I take drives down there with a friend often just to clear our heads.

Fantastic experience: Nice relaxing course. Fairways well maintained and greens are probably the best I've played recently. Play is slow so expect a 5 hour round waiting between holes. Rough is unforgiving so don't attempt looking for your ball. All in all with everything said, I'd still be playing again

Negative experience: They called to cancel our room after we’d dropped our bags and then gone to a family wedding. I understand that issues occur but I what frustrated me was they said they had been selective of who they had to cancel. Why when we arrived too early to check in did they decide to cancel ours!

Positive experience: I joined the gym and really enjoy the classes especially pilates, yoga and LBT with Rachel (she is great, wish she could do more classes). The place itself is a bit dated and could do with a bit of reno but I really like the atmosphere in here.

Positive experience: Had a wedding at this location and I have to say they were excellent. The wedding planner was very helpful and they felt with a couple of last minute requests very well. Very good location and very helpful staff, good food .

Fantastic experience: A brilliant gym that offers everything you need but not always so busy you can’t get on a machine.

Negative experience: Simply another one of the many ordinary, regular, non outstanding villages for the rich, although the nature is beautiful (lake, grass, golf fields, ancient trees etc.), what can not be said about the residents. They are all mostly very arrogant and fake in communication. Foo-Boo... That's a common british trait... Let them rot peacefully...

Fantastic experience: We booked here for our wedding this May and it was absolutely beautiful. Sue the organiser couldn't do enough for us and made sure all our wishes were carried out. She was there from the beginning of the process and even worked on the Saturday of the wedding to ensure everything ran smoothly, even though she would usually be off. The food was amazing and all our guests commented how how nice it was. The setting is stunning with the backdrop of the golf course which can be seen throughout the function area and a lovely veranda if its a warm day. Staff are really helpful and friendly, and its is great value for money. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: We went to a 70th Birthday party, and the place was lovely , very impressed.

Negative experience: I was quite excited to play golf here, I shouldn’t have been. Photos look great online and whilst I appreciate the time of year, the reality is it was nothing like the photos. certain bits were not acceptable for the price you pay for a round here. Firstly, you couldn’t even tell what was rough and what was fairway, it all looked the same and was patchy at best. Secondly the bunkers, worst I’ve played in and I’ve played at some below average courses in my time. The greens were bumpy, full of marks and pitch marks, rarely took the line of a putt with jumping of course along the way. Lastly, tee times are way to close together. Now, I’m not the greatest golfer but I hit a good ball and play off 14. You had to rush every shot and practically power walk between shots or someone was waiting behind you. Not enjoyable and not what you’d expect at £45 a round. Honestly, I can play my local course at half that price and have a much better experience in better conditions. Has so much potential but I would recommend getting a few more Greenkeepers as they obviously can’t keep up.

Fantastic experience: Love it there! Amazing place with even more amazing staff and service. We recently joined the gym here and will be using the venue for our upcoming wedding. Everyone we spoke so far, go an extra mile to make sure the custom is 110%. Can't ask for more. The place is clean and tidy, loads of great classes, great gym, and great relaxing atmosphere.

Negative experience: As a 2 ball playing off 14 handicaps,we teed off promptly,after hole 4 we let a 2 ball through due to a lost ball A 4 ball group followed very very closely behind-we could only assume they were playing speed golf, we felt constantly pressurised and rushed which we felt ruined our experience On the 12th a member of the 4 ball behind us,asked us on the adjacent fairway if they had driven over our heads,clearly not,this member then stated that we should get a move on!despite us playing well within our time,this 4 ball then started to lose ground-2 holes in fact to which they let a 2 ball though. This 2 ball again were constantly chasing my partner and I for no reason as again we were playing well within the timings In the carpark we were visually and verbally confronted. Such a shame as my friend and I were talking of joining the course prior to the incidents!! We actually closed the game and shook hands at 1511-over half an hour ahead of schedule!! Lovely course but not so lovely members!!! Def would not return!!!

Positive experience: Lovely open golf course we'll kept great greens , bacon roll and coffee before start, staff in the pro shop very polite and helpful. Overall well worth a visit . Reason for not 5 star , the sand and the bunkers are disgraceful

Fantastic experience: I had my wedding ceremony here in September and I cannot fault this venue whatsoever. Sue the events manager was amazing and was always on hand when needed. She was very reassuring and helpful particularly during this difficult time. The venue itself is simply stunning. It was the best day of my life. Thank you Overstone Park Resort for making this happen.

Negative experience: Sadly, the food was appalling. Food was overcooked to the point that my partner's scampi resembled shivelled up walnuts. The lasgne too so badly overcooked I cld only pull the top away and eat what was left underneath. However we did get half beer and 125 ml wine deducted pricewise. This was a g8 place b4 Covid.....needs to get back to how it was.

Positive experience: Gym and pool is very tired and in desperate need of a revamp. However, the staff are lovely and the personnel is of a higher standard.

Fantastic experience: Good gym fitness classes and facilities including a lovely golf course and swimming pool

Negative experience: 2 night stay in one of the "chalets" I have been in better caravans. In serious need of a freshen up. Bed was comfy and it was warm in the room, these are the only positives. Food was of Harvester quality, so not great, and the service was not great either. Won't be in any hurry to return.

Positive experience: I enjoy using the gym here as it's smaller and not full of people showing off. But, it's getting tired and in need of a fresh coat of paint and minor repairs

Positive experience: Played on the 27th Dec, couldn't believe how hard the green keepers had worked to keep the course open which was most appreciated by all. We all had a loveley breakfast, staff were brilliant. We all had a brilliant day's golf a few beers and a meal after. All in all we all had a great day. Thanks to the green keepers and staff for a loveley day.

Positive experience: Was a regular gym member and stayed here for a wedding reception. Bar area was lovely. Brilliant walks/views and obviously great for the golf lovers. Chalets are nice and new/refurbished, food was on point, signed up to the gym here but cancelled after several months as it was quite small and it got overcrowded, good swimming pool and sauna, on the whole a positive experience worth visiting.

Positive experience: Really good golf course and resort. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was due to how hard the greens were making it almost impossible to hold the ball on them from any distance. They were great for putting on with good pace and smooth running of the ball. The food we received was good as well and served by friendly and helpful staff.

Positive experience: This hotel was fine for a three star hotel, slightly lower quality than a premier inn. We were quite comfortable but we had a few issues that stop me giving a better rating. The price was fair for the room, breakfast and pool. The room was small, but adequate for a couple but became too small once we had a travel cot (provided by the hotel) in there. The room was a little on the chilly side and we needed to use the heating even at the beginning of September, when we haven't had it on at home at all. The sheet didn't fit the mattress, but it was clean. The bathroom was clean and warm. The shower was almost too small, had some black mould around the door and the floor bowed slightly as you moved. There was a heated towel rail in the bathroom which was great to keep the room warm and the towels dry. It was however very hot and I was worried about my 2 year old touching it and burning themselves. The spa facility is a lovely addition. There are times when it's adults only or closed for classes, so that might be worth checking before your stay if you really want to make the most of the pool facilities. Breakfast was included and it was good with plenty on offer. Cooked breakfast (eggs to order), fruit, cereals, pastries, juice, hot drinks and cold cuts. Don't bother ordering eggs as whenever any of our party of 9 did over two mornings they never came out. Just enjoy the buffet of food laid out. Plenty of parking and lovely views from the rooms our party used.
