Negative experience: I have been a member for a number of years. It’s seems that standards have really declined, cleaning especially. There used to be an overnight clean/early morning clean - this seems to be no longer, and the women’s changing rooms are especially dirty when I come in at 5am. I did raise a concern via email, but did not get a reply. It is certainly off-putting, and has me rethinking my membership at this particular gym.

Positive experience: Impressive gym. Nice and big with lots of kit. Generally pretty clean and decent clientele who mostly respect the space. Wish the vending machines chilled a bit more (some of the protein shakes come out warm ) Update: dropped a star ... some of the gym users think it's acceptable to use a gym changing room as a prayer room - which I don't think is cool. It's the same guys and I've raised it with PG twice, but they don't seem that bothered. I don't go and throw weights around in a mosque... I don't think it's too much to ask that a gym is just a gym.

Positive experience: Gets really, really, really busy. But it's a large 24-hour gym and has a good range of equipment. They could definitely put more equipment in though to maximise the space. General cleanliness is a bit of an issue here. And today there's a horrible smell as you enter the building, due to what looks to be water leaks into the carpet. Maintenance could certainly be improved and more regular deep cleaning.

Fantastic experience: So...I signed up to PureGym last week as my last ditch effort to stick to my new years resolution! A bit late but we got there. I signed up for 2 classes by Martyn and stayed for a 3rd, his stretch class. 3 classes that made me feel great! coming back for more this week and the next. Even took progress pictures so I can see what the difference is later on! See you on Sunday!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities spread across several rooms. Wide range of weights and machines, cardio and other equipment are available to suit all abilities, need and fitness goals. Free group exercise classes with in person or virtual instructions available all day. Clean facilities and friendly atmosphere. Everything you need, really.

Negative experience: The gym is huge but where is all the equipment? They could easily fit in double the amount of equipment. Expect the usual grumpy pure gym goers and facilities. Shame at the lack of equipment as it has potential to actually be a half decent gym.

Fantastic experience: This gym is designed in such a way,it allows you to feel you have a job to do. Whenever the aircon is not working I just smack on a hoodie. Could do with a few more punching bags. Definitely allows you to focus on your job and leave. I am shocked at the comments that want it to feels like a five star hotel lool. Great gym for riding your bang up and going home. The personal trainers are very helpful and professional.

Negative experience: Good equipment but not happy with the customer care. As a semi regular (once twice a week) at the gym I notice that for myself and I’ve seen it done to other women where men will come over to her whilst she is using a weight machine (not a another guy who’s using the same equipment) and ask her how many reps she has left and the proceed to hover and “appear to be waiting”. Granted people are at liberty to ask, however I notice this particular pattern. It’s annoying and ignorant. I aired my views to a member of staff whose face dropped and it was a “IDGAF” look which then actually caused me to laugh and just cut my session short. I want to be LEFT ALONE like all the other guys in the gym. I don’t hog machines but as a woman I find it uncomfortable and hard to concentrate when a guy is sitting right next to me making it known that he is waiting. Or pacing up and down it’s hanging around. It’s not like I’m on equipment for a long time! If it wasn’t so best to my home I would leave immediately and start somewhere else, I will be looking It takes an email with a gentle reminder to members of gym etiquette, signs put up enlisting what people need to be mindful of (not just my complaint) Rant over.

Positive experience: The gym is very well managed and has a decent range of equipment ... but if you are training at a busy time during the day (avoiding the horror of the evening peak time) it is still frustrating just how few weight plates are available (thus taking valuable training time looking for the ones required for your 3 or 4 sets on a piece of equipment). The gym is also too cold year round but especially during the winter months. In particular, the large group training area at the far end of the gym and the far end of the weights area.

Positive experience: Lots of space, very clean at the gym and at the bathrooms (I always use the showers and they are super clean) but I have to give it 3 stars because the music is way too loud, I have to put my headphones at max volume to hear my own songs and I end up with a bit of a headache. Please can the music be turned down? Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Been using this gym for around 11 years now due to its great vibe, large spaces, mixed community, mixture of equipment and natural light. It can be extremely busy during the morning, evening and Saturday peak - luckily I can avoid these times and usually go when there’s around 60/70 people (pretty common during off-peak) and rarely have issues using everything I need. Some new equipment has been recently added that improves the experience. Cleaning stations still exist, however fewer than 6-months ago. It would be great if PG could retain these as some other gyms have removed them completely.

With the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to reduce self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Fantastic experience: Had my first visit to Pure Gum Oval today where I met with my Personal Trainer Tommy. He was very friendly, professional, and he was focused on me, which was great. As I had been going to the gym for along time, he made me feel at ease and helped me reset my posture and corrected my form, where I had bad habits over the years. Loved the gym, and how well set up it was. Very clean. Looking forward to my next session. Thank you. Definitely highly recommend Tommy and this gym.

Negative experience: Tried this gym out, 1 of the worse gyms ive been to, poorly built exercise machine that can malfunction sometimes, out of date cardio equipment, random equipment being left out in random areas of the gym rather then being put back into its original spot.

We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym

Positive experience: This gym offers a good workout area and the equipment is reasonably maintained. However, a huge caveat to this gym is the constant problems with the showers. More often than not, multiple showers do not work and on the rare occasion that they do, there are very frequent periods of weeks without warm water which seem to remain unresolved. It is also not uncommon to find dirty showers. Very disappointing that management can't maintain and offer basic support services within a flagship gym. So much so, that it leaves one questioning your membership.

Fantastic experience: I previously had a bad experience with a personal trainer here, but it seems he no longer works at this location. Since then, the experience has been fantastic! The staff are helpful and friendly, and the gym is spacious with an excellent range of machines. I love how they keep improving the space and even provide access to other locations when needed. A great gym overall—highly recommended!

Negative experience: NEXT TIME SEND TEXT MESSAGES FOR SUBSCRIBERS THAT YOU WILL CLOSE FOR MAINTENANCE OTHER THAN HANGING KHARA SIGNS YA HMAR. I RECENTLY SUBSCRIBED FOR PREMIUM SO YOU SHOULD RESPECT MY MONEY :) IT SEEMS MANAGER IS VERY INTELLIGENT TO THE POINT HE DON'T REMIND PEOPLE ABOUT SUCH THING. BEST THING IS THAT ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES SAW ME GOING IN WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME LIKE A WALL STANDING. WHERE DO YOU GET SUCH EMPLOYEES After paying 41£ monthly subscription i can't find a place for using a machine or the wieght i need to use barbells :) i didn't pay that much to have no place VERY crowded

Negative experience: I don't recommend. Its saturated! Ok, I m going at the most busy time. But its so many people that you need to queueing for the machine. Class are so annoying because they occupied all the free area that You cannot find a square for your stretching. The yanga machine always breakdown that what extra i m paying for. Its a big gym but tobsmall for all the members and they keep doing an offer. . That its ridiculous

Negative experience: Very dirty, cold showers (the problems persists after months of complaining, very cold temperature with air conditioners pumping cold air on sweaty people, very unhealthy. Floors are dirty and so the equipment. The corners of the rooms are filthy, the flooring is rolling off representing a hazard with humps and foamy carpet sticking out in various parts. There is a cleaner who just pretends to clean around but really he’s not doing much, apart from polishing already cleaned surfaces like the sinks. Exercising mats are filthy, they are supposed to be deep cleaned regularly, I wiped them with disinfectant and the cloth was black! The same guy didn’t even know if the water was warm or cold and had to open the showers to check. I mean a cleaner! they are supposed to clean showers too, so how can they not know if the water is cold? I realised that some people are happy with this line of disservice, or maybe they are simply fed up of complaining, but these issues should be resolved. I understand that Puregym is a low cost gym (not so low after all) I’m not asking for towels, saunas and massages, but at least warm showers and clean spaces. Plus there is no sign to warn about cold water, so one undresses and go under the shower just to find out that it’s pretty darn freezing. People use the gym before going to work and they expect to have a shower after working out. Same problem since months that remains unresolved, when I complaint, I received a useless and patronising response from the manager just to show that they care for clients. Just no.

Fantastic experience: Edit - had to edit this review as the gym and the locker rooms are now accessible all night which is amazing. Thanks for listening to the feedback! Old review: Love this gym. Lots of space, good variety of equipment HOWEVER it's so frustrating that the changing rooms are closed at night. When I come in for a late workout I can't be leaving soaked in my gym gear. I can't understand why they can't just leave it open while they clean like other gyms. This sounds silly but I might cancel and join another gym for this reason as having a shower and getting changed after a workout is quite a basic requirement.

Negative experience: I put in a review before that their aircons were not working except 2 or 3 in the gym during peak summer and it was humid and so smelly due to lack of ventilation. That was over 3 months ago, it is now Sept they have switched off all aircons and put in place some air coolers which are not sufficient to cool such large spaces. Its cold outside and hotter inside despite it being Autumn now. I have been a regular for over 2 years but I think it's time to leave this gym now as they would not change their ways. 6 other of my friends have already quit pure gym oval.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can, the Gym Manager will have the most up to date information on any in-gym issues. Positive experience: Firstly I do like the gym , it's spacious (could be better utilised) staff are friendly and excellent value for the membership charged. My biggest gripe with this gym is the etiquette of its members.Note: staff nor other members are there to put your weights away ( if you can lift it off the rack you can put it back). Only yesterday I saw a member leave a 50Kg weight for someone else to pick up ! It's unacceptable behaviour and would lead to being banned in other gyms. I guess it's hard to police and with a lot of these members being quite intimidating to others and some with serious attitude problems , staff and members alike would probably rather say nothing. However it's something that really needs to be addressed , it's also dangerous to others to have so many weights left around and creates a bad atmosphere for what is actually a great gym.

Positive experience: Haven't given it 5 stars as I've only been literally a couple of times. However it seems to be a good mix of clientele from serious grunting types (only a few thankfully! ) to the normal gym goer , all ages, all sizes ...so, so far so good ️️♀️️♂️

Negative experience: The gym is understaffed, messy, and ill equipped. The air conditioning is all but off in this weather, and the number of machines could do with being doubled for the amount of wasted floor space. The “digital studio” is an absolute waste of space and money to power the massive screen wall that’s never used! For a “cheap” gym it does the job, but unfortunately it’s not cheap!

Positive experience: A generally very spacious branch, post-refurb with dedicated areas. I also trained here in March 2021, where I noticed the management did a good job of ensuring their members were looked after as the gyms were re-opening. Features deadlift platform. A go-to London branch.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best PureGym in London. Staff and people at the gym are beyond friendly and genuinely lovely people. You don't feel watched as everyone's there just to workout and feel good. Rarely get people who are loud and annoying. The staff are so supportive and open to answer any questions if you just approach them. The gym is often kept clean and people always put the weights pack in order. I've lived around London and used PureGyms near Kings X, Tottenham Court Road, Camden, Canary Wharf and Bayswater. It actually pains me that I had to leave the Puregym in Oval as I had such a good time there...

Fantastic experience: I enjoy going to Puregym Oval, gym has a massive selection of free weights plus resistance machines, four different parts were classes take part - from spin classes, to functional classes also a virtual studio too. It is clean and tidy.
Negative experience: Im very disappointed that the punchbag has been removed and none of the staff seem to know when its coming back. Also, there are no les mills videos in the gym. Both the punchbag and les mills are listed in the markettibb website for yhis gym, so its false advertising

Positive experience: Very popular gym. Good facilities. 24hour.
Fantastic experience: A large, organised and well ventilated gym with plenty of equipment and space. People mostly put their equipment back and the staff are on top of the cleaning. Get's busy at the usual rush hour times and has lots of free classes to attend. There's also a covered area to lock up your bicycle if you cycle in. Some sections of the gym you cant get signal on your phone and not sure about wifi availability (would be good to know?). Generally prefer this gym over others due to it's size, cleanliness and affordability.

Negative experience: This gym is practically unusable outside of 5am-10am and 8pm onwards. About 3-4 racks for 130-150 people in a hour.

There is a section on the website and the app which shows how many people are in at that time which is a great way to help plan your session. We have over 220 bits of kit in each gym and aim to have a broad spread, getting the balance right between cardio and weights. If you have any queries on the equipment at your gym, or any suggestions, the Gym Manager regularly reviews all comment cards in the suggestion box in the gym! Positive experience: Great range of equipment, and different types of training. Dumbbells go up to 50kg, probably needs more plates and maybe a Trap Bar but still great. Other than that only issue is trying to find the right spot to get signal and check your messages lol
Negative experience: Visited the gym with my girlfriend on a Saturday evening. We each have our own PIN. There was an issue with the door and I wasn't able to get in with my PIN. Tried buzzing for help at the door but no one answered. Long story short, in the end my GF had to go in an out a few times trying both PINs to get us both in. The next day I was told my account was suspended for "PIN abuse", and gave me warning of potential termination / further fines due to breach of terms. I emailed back and asked for the reason for the suspension. No one explained why my PIN was "abused", despite my explanation of the above and my request for them to look at their own CCTV footage. In the end my account was suspended for 2 days. Clearly THEY have breached the contractual terms. I am considering escalating this further.

Apologies that no member of staff was available to see you; there are very few staff, if any, working during weekend evenings, so if there were staff in the gym they may have been tied up with other things. PIN's are unique to you, so anyone else caught using your PIN will result in your PIN being suspended. If you ever have any issues entering the gym please contact our Member Services team who will be able to check your account for the reason why. Positive experience: Very nice gym indeed everything spaced out plenty of room. Went late night when its quiet and unlike some of the puregym I been to this one is maintained as in people actually return their weights and their not laying around everywhere so well done to the local members there. Only issue is I believe the car park is not free which is a hassle, of course can park on street outside the gates but could be a lot more convenient if able to park right outside the gym

Positive experience: My local gym is very good especially with the renovation and new equipments they put in place a few years ago however it can really busy during peak times and we would have not enough equipments to use but good and clean gym

Positive experience: The gym is nice and clean ,spacious with great machines but I don't like the way the machines are now after restrictions were lifted. In second and third rooms they placed the machines like in an island style, all together back to back, which for me they are too close to each other. Also one of the machines on 2°room is a few steps from a door and a monitor. So when you are in that machine you have people in an out of the room and using the monitor almost on top of you . Staff also could be more friendly but I think it's the general vibe in the gyms in London . Full of arrogant and unfriendly ppl...
Negative experience: It’s crazy how lightly Cutsomer service is taken in this gym. This is my second time I am experiencing this. I called for assistance as I had a scooter and wanted to use the disable door as my hand was fractured the lady just wasn’t ready to listen. I told her how in this gym how rude the assistance is she just starting walking away when I was trying to talk to her. I asked her name and she just left lol. Furthermore if this lady is following “policies of pure gym” why is she so scared to give her name? God knows how pure gym has so many branches all over london but still zero in terms of service. Attaching the photo of the lady hopefully the management team can do something about it or at least train their employees how to talk to people. :)
Negative experience: Disgusting! The worst Pure Gym I ’ve ever been to! Dirty, unorganised, empty weight racks, zero social distancing, staff completely uninterested in the mess that is their gym. Majorly over capacity!
Positive experience: Very impressed. A vast range of equipment & ample sanitizing stations. Clean showers.... Keep up the good work.
Positive experience: Staff are friendly but need to engage members more and interact. Place is fairly clean, can get quite busy in the evening. Good space but could do with some more speakers in more quiet areas such as the open studio. Looking for a personal trainer, so yeah if anyone sees this from puregym by chance ;)
Positive experience: Great club. Loads of space and well thought about design. Doesn't feel awkward or messy. Equipment is always working great and changing room always clean. Also great that it's 24/7

Fantastic experience: Very big gym. Open 24hrs. Usually not very busy compared to the other ones in central London. High ceilings and good ventilation make it a bit safer during Covid times. Friendly staff.
