Fantastic experience: Very good spa. Excellent massage from kanchan .

Positive experience: Very nice surroundings which are kept exceptionally clean, although I am not a fan of the spa layout. I’m hoping it will grow on me. I have been a member of three other spas in Cardiff. St David’s is the nicest, at a cost of twice the price. Worth paying extra for a little bit of luxury.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a massage in St Davids Spa with a therapist named MARZENA….she was amazing !!! Gave me the exact massage that I wanted and made the whole experience absolutely amazing and have booked a further massage with her due to the excellent experience I had with her… Thank you MARZENA !!!!!

Positive experience: My wife and I had a lovely experience here. We pod for one of their “last minute” deals and thought it was good value. Plenty of (too much?) time in the pool/jacuzzi and sauna. We also had massages and my therapist Kanchan was very good.

Negative experience: Why is there a 2 inch gap under the door to the Sauna? I literally felt a cold breeze on my feet while I was sat in it. Completely pointless even having a Sauna if it’s not got sealed doors… The rest of the facilities are great but the Sauna gets a big thumbs down from me

Fantastic experience: Came here for my wife’s 30th for a stay at the hotel and to have a spa treatment at the same time as using the spa facitilies. She had a back and shoulders massage from Hema who made her feel very comfortable and she said it was the most she has ever enjoyed a massage. She will be asking for Hema on the next visit. 10/10

Fantastic experience: I love this hotel. Have been 3 times. Its the best hotel in the world imo. Lovely spa rooms location food is great. People are so pleasant and helpful. I wish I was there now. I'll be back. Lovely surroundings too.

Positive experience: I visited recently for a Spa day and overall was very happy with the treatments. I had a facial and full body massage which was lovely! The only thing I was disappointed with was the pool facilities. There wasn’t many loungers to sit on and the few that were there people just threw their towels on to reserve even though they weren’t using them which I though was pretty selfish but other than that I was happy.

Positive experience: This was mine and my fiance's second time. Our first was amazing and we were so excited to go back. However this time it was full of children and their parents. Staying in the hotel. They were all Noisy. Loud. Not something you want when you are using a spa. Trying to relax. And being quite expensive for a minimal spa. We still love it and would go back. But on a day where kids aren't allowed in or at school.

Both booked for facial & foot massage treatment at sametime but for some reason they told me one of the girl's doing my treatment was running late so i had to wait for 30mins and receptionist was so kind and gave me us both complimentary 3 course lunch and a glass of prosecco!! Thanks for the great service... Staff's all were professionals, kind and friendly even the staff's in the restaurant! We definitley be back soon!! ❤️

Positive experience: Booked 2 indulgence spa days for my partners birthday. The facilities are immaculate and the treatments were fab, but the Receptionist was aweful. Didn't greet us when we arrived but continued to chat to a colleague. We'd been caught in a downpour and were stood dripping all over the floor until she acknowledged us. Then we each had to fill out a form, still dripping everywhere as nowhere to hang your coats. Could have filled this out digitally ahead of the booking. On a second visit to buy a gift voucher the staff just came across as annoyed at being bothered and totally incompetent. Was passed back and forth from the spa to the hotel, then told to come back 45min later, wjere I again was passed back and forth. Its like they do t want business.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had pedicures with Linda and Kanchan. Apart from the girls making our feet look so good, both girls are extremely professional but have a lovely way with people - all 4 of us laughed and chatted through the whole experience. It’s my second visit to Linda (previously had a manicure) and I would highly recommend requesting either of the girls by name as they clearly enjoy making their clients feel special. Thank you girls, see you soon.

Positive experience: Lovely venue

Negative experience: Very poor experience. Was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and pressured by the therapist. There was no consultation and the products used were limited and irritating. The pool area needs an upgrade and a good clean to match its supposed rating. The 'relaxation' room was chilly and cramped. Not even an acknowledgement of feedback received.

Fantastic experience: Nice and hot water but only 2 hours a day for the kids

Negative experience: I could have been more massively impressed. However, I only comment on the pool/sauna and the gym. The changing rooms for me (women) were lovely and clean and had a swimsuit dryer! Thought that was a neat bit of kit. The pools and hot tub area look much more significant in the photos, and the 'exercise pool' was freezing and almost shivering. The hot tub sections needed cleaning as there was scale all over the bottom, and some jets weren't working massively well. The entire room required a massive deep clean. As soon as I returned to my room, I felt like I needed to thoroughly shower (this is after showering after getting into the changing rooms). The sauna was lovely, if not cramped, but I understand they were working with the available space. We only popped our heads into the gym to see what they had. In case we had time to use it over the weekend (we didn't). However, the gym seemed fully equipped to handle most needs. My partner only noted that a pull-up bar/station needed to be added.

Fantastic experience: Doing my regular treatments with Linda and Kanchan at the Spa st David’s; both girls are wonderfully professional and knowledgeable about the massages, skin care products and facial treatments. Both are uniquely different in the way they performing the treatments, but never the least both are incredibly good. I am the long time member at the Spa and all people are lovely from the receptionists to the cleaning lady. Thank you guys for your professionalism and dedication

Positive experience: A group of 6 of us came on a family gathering in Cardiff. We all loved our treatments, Hema, Holly, Linda, Bernadette, Kanchan were all amazing and very attentive. Listened to what we needed and we all felt amazing at the end. Would like to say though the the pools were quite dirty. Seemed to be a lot of sand in the bottom of the pool and pink molds on the tiles. We were also amazed by the slow service for our included lunch, and the quality of the food. For and pool seemed a bit bland and not to a 5* standard. Treatments in the spa were 100% 5*

Negative experience: Called to enquire about spa treatments and packages, receptionist on the phone seemed very impatient and rude. I explained to her that I’ve never actually booked spa before and that it was just a surprise for my wife, and to be patient with me, but her attitude was still the same

Positive experience: Upon arrival we were given our towel and robe. When inside my robe was so tight I couldn't get my arms in. At least ask on arrival the receptionist should ask the customer what size they require . Overall Facilities were good however pool was cold. Parking not free

Negative experience: We visited the spa the facilities were very nice. Upon arrival we were handed to very small bathrobes. Staff at spa reception didn’t even stand to talk to us as if they were busy. Would have been nice to ask us what side robe or even walk and show us as first time visitors. We then went for a meal in the hotel. Unprofessional staff everytime we needed water or ketchup or a spoon I had to get up and walk to the waitresses as they were too busy talking.

Positive experience: lovely spa and facilities- only thing is that the dressing gowns are tiny and do not cater for any one who is plus sized. i had to ask for a larger size in the dressing gown and was given the largest size which still didn't fit. it was a little embarrassing and i'm sure i'm not the only person who has felt this way. it would be helpful if maybe you could pre request a dressing gown size in your booking and i do believe the spa should increase its size range. having your largest size as a 16 is not hugely inclusive

Positive experience: The actual place for the treatments is difficult to find (and is not in the main building as expected) and we waited 40minutes after our booked appointment for our treatments due to them running late. However, once in, the treatments were lovely and the staff were great. We had 3 treatments each and enjoyed them all. The elder of the two was very knowledgeable and we would come back again on another visit to Wales. The afternoon tea was lovely and they catered to our food intolerances wonderfully.

Negative experience: Have used numerous times, never again though, 2 hours use of pool was previously £15, was shocked to turn up for a special occasion and charged £35 per person for 2 hours use of pool, sauna, jacuzzi!!!! Unbelievable increase and very bad value.

Fantastic experience: Had a spar package which was really good. Had my massage which was fab Angline was amazing fell really relax throughout my massage very perfectional thankyou

Negative experience: The pool area was tired and looked dirty, not what I was expecting for a five star hotel, there was a water fountain but that was it. Would not recommend this facility to family or friends.

Positive experience: Lovely hotel, perfect spot in Cardiff Bay... Unfortunately its expensive enough only to find out you have to pay separately for car parking, which would work out a lot if you were staying longer than 1 night.

Negative experience: Since this hotel was sold by the Forte group it has sadly lost it’s sparkle - Alex Polizzi would have a field day here. We booked a table for a celebratory lunch - it went downhill from the reception - bad service, bad table by the fire exit, dirty seats , filthy table - we walked.

Negative experience: Great full body massage which is the only positive I could find. Pool area looks tired. Main pool water too cold to swim in. Showers tepid trickle on timer. Not a 5 star spa and won't be in a hurry to go back. Afternoon tea mediocre too and could have done with more savoury selection. Pastry was soggy and inedible. I was overcharged for car parking paid 9 pounds for just over 4 hours instead of 5 pounds. Absolutely mortified having paid so much for spa day to have car parking charge on top. Was told by receptionist that the car park has nothing to do with the hotel and that they charge 24 pounds for 24 hours for hotel guests!! Not worth the money paid and much better spas in Wales to choose from.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves

Positive experience: Booked a Junior suite which was very large with massive windows and nice views but the decor of the room and bathroom was very basic and didn't have the wow factor. Pleasant staff, very comfy beds but £24 for parking and £12.50 pp for breakfast if paying in advance and £18 pp on the day. Nice spa but ashame the jacuzzi was not in use on the second day.

Fantastic experience: We booked a package through spa breaks for facilities, massage and afternoon tea/lunch. The massage I had from Angeline was amazing, she knew my shoulders were tight and I walked out feeling so relaxed. The pool area was nice, with a huge hot tub area so that you are spaced out. The area with the fountain style showers was the warmest as the hot tub was only slightly warm. The sauna broke just as we walked in so we were unable to use. The changing rooms were all spotless and the shampoo/conditioner really nice - also the hairdryers dried my hair so quickly compared to others usually found in changing rooms. My only suggestions would be to perhaps it refreshments in the relaxation room as it would mean you don’t have to leave the room for tea/water and also the grouting around the pool area needs a clean! Also, bring something for your feet when walking around as not provided.

Fantastic experience: this is the best hotel swimming pool i have ever been to. the changing rooms are really good with changing,lockers,swimsuit dryers,soaps,showers and toilets. The pool is really nice too with the perfect depth all round and a really nice comfortable swimming pool.They have a really nice 3 swimming pools the normal pool, the jacuzzis adults only , an the thin swimming pool.There is also a lift which connects from the swimming pool to all floors in the hotel which was handy.

Fantastic experience: Bought a package spa deal. Everyone was very friendly and a lovely welcome. The treatment was perfect and just what I was hoping for. The food was lovely and again the service just right. The only shame is no matter how much you're spending you still have to pay for parking.

Positive experience: Bad points Very very short staffed (maybe new staff... Otherwise blamed on covid... But I feel a 5 star hotel should be far more resourceful and organised. Staff made constant mistakes and it took a real effort to organise a day here. The Spa is not well kept. The sauna door held shut with a tissue and not hot, the floor of the pool covered in sand, the walls by the hydro walk pool have dirt and don't appear to be maintained. The whole building outside is in poor condition. Parking is very very expensive for all guests. Good points Staff are friendly polite and willing. Main pool is one the nicest pools I have ever swam in warm and very clean. Hydro walk pool is fun, changing rooms very good and provisions quality. The treatments we had were top class and therapists very good at what they do. View is quite enchanting BUT we won't return.

Negative experience: Massage treatment was good, views are lovely, but not to the standard you'd expect for the price. I'm also comparing to how the spa/hotel was under previous owner. I would say I found the spa facilities to be quite dirty (i.e. in pool area) and that was concerning in the covid era...

Negative experience: The massage was great but the pool wasn't. The floor was disgusting, the whole place needs a big refurbishment session and the view, which you'd expect to have, is fully blocked by an opac balcony outside that nobody uses. Don't get me started on the bar/restaurant which was appalling.

Fantastic experience: Nice and friendly, welcoming staff. A good range of treatments available at affordable prices. Spa has sauna facilities and we had a wonderfully relaxing time whilst in the spa despite the rainy weather during our trip.

Negative experience: The treatments are terrible slapped on and quickly taken off not relaxing and not worth the money. Not even asked about any concerns that I had .then kept intrupting during facial .awful dont waste your money

Negative experience: My friend and I booked a spa package; afternoon tea plus 2x 25 minute treatments for £75. Our treatments were back to back so a total of 50 minutes each. They called me in for my massage 15 minutes late, apologising, saying another client decided to have another treatment and so the person who was going to do my massage was now busy. So another lady stepped in. I didn't mind this but then my 2 treatments ended after just 35 minutes as they did not account for the 15 minutes I was sat waiting. For a 5* hotel where I'm paying a lot to have a massage, I expected better than this. I should not have to have 15 minutes treatment time deducted due to their own error.

Negative experience: I used the spa as a part of a massage and dinner package. My wife was with me and wanted to hang out in the facilities while I had my massage. She had to pay £30ish to do so, which is pretty steep. So you would think the spa would be pristine, but it was quite rough around the edges where you can see repairs had been done, but not well. There was also that question of is the pool walkthrough meant to look green or is it just a bit yucky? Anyway, mostly my wife wanted to read a magazine by the pool, but the seating was taken for most of the time we were there.. mostly by people's towels while they weren't in them. After we managed to get them and I went off to get my massage (giving up my seat), my wife took a 10 minute dip in the pool and when she came back a couple had taken her seat. A women had actually taken her magazine and a man was lying on her dressing gown, which had her phone in. Now the Spa can't be blamed directly for this behaviour, but I feel the situation with the lack of seating encouraged it. Anyway, my massage was good but it was very impersonal and there were issues with my head being squashed when being leaned over, but I won't go into detail about that to avoid shaming anyone. As I was being lead to the relaxation room I tried to talk about the massage twice but wasn't acknowledged. She actually forgot I was behind her and was leading me into a towel storage cupboard. When she remembered I was there she said "oh" and pointed to the relaxation room. I sat in there a little while but it felt well used i.e. like getting into a messy bed with Pringle packets on the side. Then when I went to get dressed in the male changing the whole seating area was covered in used towels. There is probably only 8 places to sit on the tiled seating and there are towel bins. Perhaps I was unlucky through unthoughtful customers or perhaps staff don't pop in often enough to clean them up? On the positive the reception was very nice and the hotel restaurant was also very nice, but this review is about the spa itself.

Positive experience: Had a very relaxing day. You only need to bring your costume you are given towels and a robe. Shampoo conditioner and shower gel are all provide for. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The pool temperature was comfortable, and the sauna was big enough to hold up to 10 people comfortably. Lunch was divine only negative I have to say is the milk had gone off. They did change it when i had pointed it out.

Credete sia tutto? Bene allora vi sbagliate di grosso. In questa fantastica spa si può addirittura fare una pausa con un te accompagnato da deliziosi dolcini.

Positive experience: Booked the Marine Spa fragment four my wife's birthday which was an hourlong full body massage and facial. Really wonderful and good value. 5*. The package included use of the spa facilities and light lunch. We haven't been to the spa for quite some time and it looked pretty tired I'm sorry to say so i would only rate 3*. The lunch was ok, but since it was included in the spa package it was fine. We enjoyed it, but wouldn't recommend overall

Fantastic experience: The staff were all lovely, they didnt rush us at all. Robes and slippers were given as we came in. Parking was free and the view from the sitting area was beautiful. We will come back again and again!

Positive experience: I've had a nice treatment here, and the relaxation area with drinks and fruit has lovely views. The darkened chill out room is a bit weird though. To be honest the best bit is the pool with hydrotherapy, which you can access without going for a spa treatment.

Fantastic experience: What can you do on a very cloudy summer day? Spa! Where? Well...that is up to you! My husband gives me as a 5 th anniversary wedding gift, a day at St David's Hotel Spa. That was from the beginning the most wanted gift. First of all, very clean and elegant place. We felt safe and we trust from the beginning. We went on time at 11:30 am and start a whole body massage for an hour. We get to the rest room ( very cosy and nice place) simple but suitable for purpose. We served lunch, very light one, tomatoes soups with fresh bread and butter and bento main dishes, mine and my husband, with salmon wrap sandwich and chicken for my sister. We took extra drink like proseco wine who is coming with tea cake gem and cream. The pool and sauna all rest of the day! Permanent access to hot or cold drinks and dry and clean towels! People very prompt in service and professional also friendly. Parking assistance all day long! We like it very much. I recommend gladly!
