Positive experience: You need 2 staff on the reception before 9am If someone has a problem it holds everyone up trying to get through, if you need a wristband and book in for Aqua fit. Apart from that, all staff are very friendly and helpful

Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym twice before and now I still have to pay £30 joining fee. I think the company has a policy of wishing to lose customers and future income because of £30 joining fee that does not add value to customers in any way.

Positive experience: I signed up for the swimming pool, but I've been more into gyms for a while now. Unfortunately, my experience with opening hours is bad. Here are some examples. A month ago, the gym was open on weekends until 6:30pm, and then it was open until 7pm, and today it's only open until 6pm (despite the different hours that Google shows, i.e. until 7pm). There are no information posters (the cost of printing is only a few p), and if there are any, they're out of date (when once a guy from the staff wanted to show us an information poster, it turned out it was hidden under another one). So I check the app. It shows me that the gym is open today (Saturday) until 5pm, but the lady who was leaving the building at 6pm today said that it was open until 6pm. On the other hand, the app shows that the gym is open tomorrow (Sunday) until 8pm, and Google shows that the entire facility is open until 7pm. There's some kind of information chaos. The price of the monthly subscription enticed me, but perhaps I get what I paid for?

Negative experience: Terrible experience with my child's swimming lessons. Over one year in one leve and still t 70%l??? My child's fault... of course. the teacher, Michal (what a nonsense...) He spent more time talking to the the public than paying attention to to pupils. Cancelled subscription... too late though.... ripped off .

Fantastic experience: Great facilities for toddler swimming, so impressed with how easy it is to book a pay-as-you-go lesson without membership so that we can attend the toddler instructor lead swimming hour. The teacher was amazing too, really helped provide some guidance on how to elevate some of the issues I was facing after my little one started walking. It has private family changing rooms with a baby changing table too, so well thought through. It's a shame we don't have something like this where I live.

Negative experience: Usually an ok experience, but this morning the staff in the gym are honestly embarrassing themselves - girl who looks to be in her early 20s with a ponytail in the gym acting so childish with staff - being loud, kicking doors to staff areas open, getting on the tanoy shouting “hello everyone”, etc - myself and other gym patrons are just rolling our eyes at each other while staff laugh along with it. Feels less like a gym and more like a playground.

Fantastic experience: Went for swimming. Changing rooms were clean and tidy. Take a pound for the locker! Swimming pool a little on the cold side, but I've you get used to it, it's fine. Just don't go in the steam room, shower, and then back in the pool...brrrrr!!

Fantastic experience: Moved my daughter to here after a few months at another swim school and she was not enjoying it. She absolutely loves coming here, the pool temperature is great, the changing rooms are clean. Her teacher (dawn) is absolutely amazing and she’s given her so much confidence. Thank you!

Positive experience: Decent gym, not too busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings, machines are pretty good other than the odd breakdown which is expected. Good amount of general gear and an acceptable amount of space. Swimming pool is good but the times for general swimming or lane swimming aren't too 9-5 worker friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful, but beware, the app they make you use is pretty atrocious, bring back membership cards.

Negative experience: Old, poorly maintained gym equipment that squeaks, creaks and catches a lot, damaged equipment often takes months to be repaired which, when combined with the overcrowding, leads to a lot of queues and disrupted routines, especially as some of the "gym bros" will insist on taking plates, weights and tools beyond their need with no warnings to their etiquette. Some of the equipment has broken comfort-features and become a literal pain to use for extended times, or are so worn down one half of your body gets a better workout than the other - or you're putting extra effort in just to work the machines, some of which don't offer a full range of motions from their outdated design. Free weights are often overcrowded, even outside of peak hours and staff rarely perform a deep clean, only pushing round a tiny hand hoover or rarely just do the floors with a henry - a particular problem for people with dust allergies who burst into allergic reactions when weights are slammed or machines are used as the dust grows thick atop. Not to mention a few other minor gripes; the music played is full of ads which break up routine and rhythm, something which you pay to hear with your membership, and the centre's pledge to go "plastic free" means switching to app-based-entry only, so for those who come late or early and/or don't wish to bring a phone or use another app filled with data-using, location tracking, update-pushing connectivity-required bloatware are left unable to get any other means of access.. All despite the fact they use plastic based wet wipes, coverings, bottles, bin bags, cups, etc. The login desks are laggy and sometimes outright just don't work, not that the staff care. The changing rooms too have no barrier between the showers and changing area, leaving wet marks and slip hazards across the floor, I've had a lock removed from a locker for some nefarious reason twice, possibly owed to the fact the men's changing room lock / admission system has never worked - and children have a bad habit of pulling the fire alarm forcing everyone out.

Fantastic experience: A lovely family orientated pool, that goes the mile for everyone. Love the range of classes and activities available for different people and age groups.

Fantastic experience: Bright, airy gym. No stench, friendly environment with smily faces, convenient for singles, and for family. It's a great place for children swimming, good parking spaces too.

Positive experience: I bring my 2 children here for swimming lessons, I honestly can't fault the lovely teachers, but the management are appalling, unhelpful, make you repeat yourself, skirt around giving you actual answers and never call you back. If I were rating them alone they would get no stars.

Fantastic experience: This place has always been great to me and my family when we have been swimming. Great pools and pretty good prices, I just wish they didn't let so many people in the people during the "family fun" times as you can barely actually swim during that time.

Negative experience: So I paid more for the flexible membership (so I can cancel it anytime) but it seems that I paid more for nothing, last week the ladies told me to come this week because they don't know how to do it, today is another girl who just give me a number to call "because they don't do it here". The reason I want to leave this gym is because the machines are cheap and get broken all the time, and you have to wait more than one week sometimes to get fixed. The maximum weight for gumbels are 30 kg, so if yiu are a big guy or planning to be one, this gym is not for you. Beside all that, be aware that you have a first charge fee that will cost you almost one month more, I was charged without being announced that there is another charge fee.

Positive experience: They still need air-conditioning and to improve their security system to provide better service for their members.

Positive experience: We went to the swimming pool, the pool was clean and my child loved playing in the pool it wasn't a busy day but pool was still full so kept bumping into people. There only showers are at the entrance to the pool and there are not enough for the amount of people in the pool.

Negative experience: We are new members me and my husband and we have already faced an unpleasant situation. Half term is free for children to swim. Every day this week there is a swimmin session at 13.35-14.55 (Session Not bookable in advance). We cannot book in our App or at the reception. On Monday, we went swimming with our children for the first time and I asked again if we could book a swimming session for the whole week at 13.35, to which I was told no. You just come to the reception and they will scan the QR code and we can go swimming Today, Thursday, we came to swim at the same time and we could not swim inside. Because there is no place. A question for the Leisure center administration and the Swimming pool Time table that compiled it. Why are you deceiving your customers and new members. Why is Just Swim not recorded (Session not bookable in advance missing information for members if Limited spaces) Me and my son are quite upset and disappointed. How did the Manager's woman come to talk to us, to whom I asked why there is no information when limited spaces in swimming pool timetable and when it says session not bookable in advance? She said you won't swim today and she was very rude because I explained to her why neither reception nor App booking can be done for this session and swimming is also not allowed...she turned around and told me I'm done.....so disappointed and didn't solve the problem , The manager simply left me without an answer and the children and I without a swim... I will definitely send this complaint to the administration of this Leisure center, because this matter cannot be left like that. I was brought to tears and my 12-year-old son because we couldn't swim because his classmates also come to swim at the same time every day. Classmates were waiting for my son, but we never got inside. Um, the most important thing. when I asked on Monday about booking this session for all week, the reception staff kindly answered me. just come and swim without booking.....I'm disappointed both by the attitude towards the new members and also by not taking into account my time, because I specially take the children swimming after the night shift and I also don't think about how a child who cries because his friends were waiting felt. already in the pool, but they don't let him in...Evita

Negative experience: This place has really gone down hill in the last couple of years. It used to be such a good leisure centre but due to lack of maintenance and cleaning it is now very poor. The swimming pool has never been that warm but now most of the showers are only cold water which is not good especially at this time of year. Promises of it being fixed have been going on for months to no avail. You are lucky if you can get a changing room because the school children leave clothes and shoes all over the place while in the pool. They are not encouraged to use the lockers therefore adults have to suffer. There is supposed to be a no shoe policy but this is not enforced and often dirt is walked all over the changing room area. Out of order gym equipment takes ages to get repaired and there is very little hygiene in place. Toilets are not being cleaned or bins being emptied. There seems to be a lack of soap for the dispensers and no toilet paper for the toilets. This is being blamed on the outside cleaning company. Loyal customers do not feel they are shown any respect, everything is about getting new members in who often only last a few months. There are too many cutbacks to save money and this reflects in the running of Waendel Leisure Centre.

Fantastic experience: We thought we should start getting fit again so we attended the aqua fit session in the large swimming pool. Our experience was very good . Parking was ample and free. The building was clean and well laid out. The changing area was well maintained , clean with plenty of changing cubicles and showers . The session was about 45 mins long and well attended. Again the pool was clean with ample attentive life guards. The booking on line was a little challenging but once we sussed it it all went to plan. We will be back!!

Fantastic experience: This place is our new go to. The place was excellent. Totally clean and new looking. Excellent changing rooms and facilities. The only downside would be there wasn't any lowered sinks in the changing room toilets for children and they could do with a more frequent cleaning schedule. Even then everything was lovely. The lockers were clean and the showers were warm. We only used the teaching pool as we went as a family. The pool was clean, warm and safe. Children under 5 are free, which is excellent and we really enjoyed it.

Negative experience: I am disabled and just signed up for gym and swim to improve my fitness. At my induction I asked what they would recommend exercise wise for improving my strength and losing some weight I explained to them I'm disabled and have had spinal surgery and hip surgery. They instantly answered squats and lat pull downs are best to which I replied they may be difficult due to my disability is there alternatives to these understanding they have leg press machines that will support my spine. I was told "oh I don't know then maybe do just cardio and arm/chest workouts". So not helpful at all. The QR scanner didn't work at all when she was showing me how to come into the gym. I wasn't shown where classes were at all as I was interested in some classes. I feel I'm walking away with barely any where abouts where things are and barely any idea what excercises will be ideal for me and my disability considering they say they are personal trainers. Facilities look good just lack substance it appears and knowledge

Positive experience: I use the swimming pool here on a weekly basis. I'm sure they get to a certain time and make the water slightly cooler, whether that is to encourage more swimming to warm you up or to get out nobody knows. The steam room is currently working but the sauna has been down for a while

Fantastic experience: Went here with my husband for first time yesterday ( 8/03/2022). Lovely , clean, WARM changing areas. Great, large lockers for all our belongings. ( £1 coin required). We joined the 50+ swimming session & really enjoyed it. Very busy, but people were very courteous. I'm registered disabled & can be very anxious, especially in a different environment. However, most fellow swimmers were kind & considerate & gave me the room I needed. Also, very well supervised by polite staff. Look forward to going again soon.

Fantastic experience: Started swimming here this week, lovely clean changing rooms, some of the showers have doors on for extra privacy, hair dryers available, pound or trolley tag for lockers, pool area nice & clean, sauna & steam room included in the price (sauna out of action at minute being fixed), make sure you book your sessions on the app or in reception, aquafit is very popular, we have also booked a pilates session, for a try, lookingforward to trying a few more classes. Decent amount of parking available.

When called the phone line was told only available through the website wasn't much help at all. Massive shame as went last year before covid and it was a nice place to swim.

Negative experience: If you ride a bike, you are not welcome here. Lazy people take parking spaces designated for bikes. Biggest offender parking there his Merc pick up truck on regular basis and staff turns blind eye on it. Shame on you.

Negative experience: At no point does this reflect on the amazing staff they are great . . . But i am miffed at the fact that we are expected to pay full price membership or for a daily swim, before covid we got about 1 1/2 hours but now we only get 3/4 hour but have to pay the full price
