Negative experience: As a diamond plus member of David Lloyd, I specifically signed up for Northwood, as this is meant to be the flagship David Lloyd facility. A few months back I left a review with my personal account, explaining the poor quality of the services provided, aswell as the level of the facilites being far below expectations. Unfortunately 3 months down the line, I find myself having to leave another POOR review. The changing rooms and shower facilities, which were refurbished this year, are in poor condition already, half the locker doors are broken and jammed off, the showers have no water pressure, never cleaned, only 3-4 of the shower heads actually work, you have to pick and choose your shower. I also understand this is a health club, which faciltates families etc, however I was once told I cannot bring in any guests prior to a certain time, however on every occasion I visit the club, I tend to be bombarded with children running all around me as I walk through the gym. If I, who pay £250 a month cannot bring in a guest which I'm entitled to at certain times, do we deem it fair, that members can bring along family members etc at any given time, which overpopulates, the already packed club. Children and groups of people over 3-4 just taking up spaces and spaces all over the club. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE STATE OF THE SPA. Great choice of options, however if your not up at the early dawn to use the spa, you will be welcomed to the most unhygenic spa facilites you will ever experience. There is a Citrus Spa, that has no Citrus Smell, a plunge pool which seems like a plunge of uncleansiness, a sauna with snus residue all over, an outdoor jacuzzi with leaves all over, and an indoor jacuzzi that you don't want your feet touching the bottom. For the substantial figure of £250 per calender month, may I please ask David Lloyd, what they use this funding for? Apart from the average equipment which you find in majoirty of gyms these days, what on earth are you using your membership revenue on ? Because I can gurantuee it isn't being used for any improvements in the gym. I find myself writing this review, as having brought up my concerns, several times with the management at DLC Northwood, I have not seen any improvement, nor do I get the feeling any of the management are actually bothered. Victoria, who I have been told is the manager, has been made aware of all of these complaints several times, not just by myself, however by several other members of the gym. It seems to be a common theme around the gym at the moment, as most of the regular users, all seem to be in agreement, that the facilities are decreasing in quality day in day out. P.S, If you do choose to sign up, or your already use the gym, please be wary of the things you leave in your locker. I was unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity of a young man, who came back from the spa in his towel, only to be welcomed to his locker being emptied, his clothes, car keys, bag, and computer all gone missing. In which the staff members once again suggested "it is out of their hands"

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I had a not so good experience with one of the sales consultant in the new membership team. I called up after coming for a visit and the customer service fell well below the standards I expect. The new membership sales consultant seemed more happy to get me off the phone rather than address my concerns as a prospective customer. Looking back at the negative reviews i would rather spend my money elsewhere as they do not seem to act ethically as a business. Imagine if i was a customer. Please read the negative reviews first rather than reviewing the positive ones.

Negative experience: From reading the below, it seems the sales team are coercing prospective members to write 5 star reviews following their introduction tour? Very misleading; their review is of the tour, not the club. Been a member for years. Overall it's a great facility, however, it's massively oversubscribed. Finding a parking space is a battle at the best of times. During peak times the car park is often gridlocked with staff turning people away. It really does make the whole experience very stressful. Booking a class or court is also very challenging. Side note - please replace the cable attachments in the gym where the rubber is falling off. They've been like it for months now and are unusable. At over £200 a month I don't think it's a big ask.

Fantastic experience: Chloe is incredible. Only been to the centre twice so far and both times she has been very friendly, kind and helpful. She had even helped me around the gym on her day off when she most definitely did not need to... Very sweet soul! Some of the staff are not as friendly, so when someone is, it definitely does not go unnoticed. I hope the centre do appreciate her! Overall the centre is brilliant, love it! Also big shoutout to Christina! She was very lovely and friendly as well! She had even given me a very detailed spa tour on my first time there, when she definitely did not need to as well! I look forward to my future visits!

Negative experience: The outdoor sauna consistently smells of urine, which is unacceptable. I've reported this issue to the staff multiple times, and while they assure me it will be addressed, the smell is still there the next day. The saunas need a deep and regular cleaning routine. This level of hygiene is disappointing.

Negative experience: This is becoming a bullsheet of a gym ! They can’t even afford a good working scale even though they charge us £250 a month , this is a daylight robbery and I do not recommend it to no one ! Why : No scales No space in the changing rooms No car park , they are after your money not after offering the quality they stand for They rob all your passes if not used , when instead they should offer them every month back As well plunge been out of action for 7 days , every day we are being promised it will be sorted The citrus steam room has no citrus Showers inside the spa are so severe damage , I would condemn them from being used Ice room there is no ice Also they allowed to many members which over-exceeds the capacity of the gym The air venting system is not working Guys really is this the way treat us There are people out there barely affording to pay 3000 on a car they will drive for 10 years , we pay this every year for a gym membership 100% if @third gym would have more gyms and closer to me I would leave this scammers next second . Shame on you David Lloyd’s , shame on you , you are destroying a wonderful community !!

Negative experience: Every 5 star review made in the past 6 months is about praising the gym/facilities tour and Head of Sales but nothing about the gym itself. They have 400 car parking spaces for 12,000 members. Parking is impossible. Their response to this is that they don't need to provide parking. Cleanliness isn't great. Gym and changing rooms need serious attention. They have oversubscribed this gym. Paying £220 per month I would expect a lot better.

Fantastic experience: I love this club, I have been a member since 2017, had to go on a 3 year break and now I’m back, the only place where I can take care of my health, mind body & soul. I had a fantastic experience today rejoining the gym with the help of an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff - Ali . He was very professional and kind, making the process smooth for both my mum and me, especially after our three-year break. Negative experience: Considering that we pay over £220 a month, to come to this club, the availability of parking is shocking. It's taken some of us over 20 mins to even find parking on a number of occasions. When a number of us complained, we were told that David Lloyds is not obligated to provide parking. In addition, our membership was increased to cover the cost of a recent refurb where the layout of the gym also changed to what is now not very accommodating for women in certain areas of the gym. A large number of women complained and we requested certain things be put in place and we were completely ignored. There is also no anti-bacterial soap in the toilets - which is a concern, considering that this is a gym with over 12,000 members. I've also seen clumps of hair on the floor which has been sitting in the same place for a number of days. Cleanliness isn't the best. A number of us have stayed, as DL never used to be like this in previous years (these are recent concerns) and we're just giving it time to see if there will be improvements Whilst trying to increase the number of members annually (as a business, of course one would), DL really needs to make improvements to look after existing members and ensure that we are catered for, as we are ultimately the ones paying to run this place

Negative experience: I have relocated they still want to charge me 3 months for closing my account despite telling them that we have been announced redundancies and I’m stressed in a bad position. They said they can’t do anything and as like a joke saying we can transfer you to the branch nearby… like it’s a joke… I’m not allowed to talk to manager and the team member says the manager relayed this information… what sort of service… I’m going to tell out loud everyone to stay far away…. I should have the right to cancel in one month not three month… I’m already stressed out awaiting potential redundancy… Stay far far AWAY… I can just guess they will say the same things here… oh we are so sorry etc etc

Negative experience: Took long time making new showers, created distribution and many of them have broken already. Some didn’t work properly at the start. Shower areas still smell bad too. Scratch the surface and it’s not a good look underneath.

Positive experience: its an okay gym but very very busy and hard to park, there is also poor control of weights in the gym making it messy and can be dangerous with weights left laying around. booking classes is also a challenge and bamington almost impossible. that said its good great facilites if you can use them

Negative experience: I have tried to cancel my membership without success, the first was when to pool became very cold and not pleasant to swim in. I have used the app more than once but it just asks (Thinking of leaving) YES PLEASEI have typed my request and reason but nothing and keep telephoning the club but without success ( No answer). Negative experience: Just a money grabbing company I've put my account on freeze for the pass few months and they've been taking £60 a month just for my account to be on freeze as I'm in the process of moving house and I extended my freeze period on the weekend and I woke up today to them trying to take £250 out of my account don't come here they care more about money then service. And intact my very first two months I had to work out in a tennis court just to find out after the long repair of the gym its just a tiny average gym . My app doesn't work on my phone no one wants to help me resolve any of my issues but wants to take my money I'm fed up of shit customer service and when I call the reception they say I can't hear you and hang up on me I'm so upset I'd actually like my money back and for all my issues to be resolved so that other people can have a good experience. And just as I thought I've messaged the email given to me and as i thought they wouldn't respond terrible terrible services!

Negative experience: I’m a member of this gym and I believe people should be aware of a lot of things the staff won’t make you aware of! 1. LOCKERS ARE NOT SAFE, THERE IS SEVERAL CRIMINALS WHO LOOK TO GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR LOCKER TO TAKE EXPENSIVE BELONGINGS, The staff then claim there is nothing they can do about it. Parking is absolutely terrible, hardly ever find any empty space and you are liable for tickets at all time, parked within a child & parent bay , no where had disclosed you need to register your plate as there is no signs stating this nor do any staff disclose this to you then they say they cannot do anything about it. The gym and spa facilities itself are lovely however the staff are basically useless. To pay the amount you pay which is in excess of £200 per month and to receive the service you receive from staff is beyond absurd. Everyone also claims they are a manager until you’d like to make an official complaint and then all of a sudden another manager appears. I would only recommend this place for the gym, everything else surrounding the facilities is a 1 star at best

Fantastic experience: Absolutely stunning! Gym equipment is user friendly, high end, state of the art! Gym has massage machines which are so relaxing after your work out. There is enough machines (Gym equipment & massage chairs) for everyone who is in the gym. A very refreshing spa retreat which is honestly out of this world! Very relaxing, clean, tidy & you come out feeling like a new person! I dealt with a lovely young man named Ali @ sales who was very accommodating to my needs. Explained all of the facilities that Northwood David Lloyd offer. He was patient & kind with all my questions I had. He wasn’t a pushy sales person & was genuinely interested in my life, what I wanted out of the gym & truly understanding my needs. Overall if you’re wanting a chilled out spot after a hard days work I would definitely recommend joining this gym! It has everything you need & more.

Positive experience: New equipments are not good! Dumbbells really bad! Everything else is great! Facilities, Restaurant etc. didn’t go spa this time so can’t comment. It’s is usually good. Outside area is excellent! PS. Those new precor equipment is bad. I thought it was my anatomy of joints but looks like other people have the same experience. Eg. Leg extension has lots of adjustment but the centere of rotation (pivot point) of the moving arm and the knee do not align so it ends up sliding. Also why change to those plastic weights the elkio ones were had noting wrong. If I’m nitpicking Also with the old equipment like treadmills stair steppers used to connect to the fitness app on watch or phone and auto upload to health in the new precor ones it’s absent or had to find. Positives: The trap bar is awesome. Super easy yo load 10/10

Negative experience: The new gym facility is a let down. The precor leg equipment is inferior to the life fitness equipment from before. The lying ham string curl is not adjustable, the leg extension does not allow for a smooth range of motion and the seated hamstring curl pad is too firm so is uncomfortable. I have since been using the facilities in Heston.

Fantastic experience: Been meaning to go to the gym for a while now but anxiety kept stopping me. I have heard many rave about this David Lloyds and it did not disappoint. Negative experience: I came as a guest of a member and it was awful from start to finish. First thing in the clubhouse, I ordered a bottle of sprite zero on my friend's app but it didn't arrive. He went to check on it and they only had warm bottles so he got a refund. Next up, the changing rooms. I went into the female changing rooms and was greeted by a maze. I honestly did not know where to go. I eventually found an individual changing cubicle where I was greeted by the protective sticker from a swimsuit stuck on the wall (just like the council-run facilities!). There was a cleaner in there the whole time but she never looked in there because why would someone at a very expensive gym do that? Rich kids are still kids! But I changed, put my things in a locker, locked it with a padlock and then tried to find the entrance to the pool. I couldn't because there's no signs/directions, so I asked the cleaner who showed me. Then I went to the outside pool where I saw 3 kids trying to push each other into the single lane for swimming lengths. One of them fell in nearly on top of the woman swimming lengths, right in front of the lifeguard. He checked on the woman then said a couple of words to the kids. But they went right back to it, pushing either other into the lane and then just standing in it. I'd had enough at that point, I didn't want to swim around kids in a single lane dedicated to proper swimming when they could play in the rest of the pool. I went and used the indoor pool for my lengths and admired the dirt at the bottom of one end as I swam, then when I was finished I retrieved my towel from under the bum of a customer sitting on one of the benches around the pool and went to change. All in all, I didn't consider this gym posh or luxury and would never waste my money here. I've experienced cleaner, friendlier, and more respectful customers in council facilities.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time at David Loyd, having gone with my 1 year old son and my nephew, who had just turned 8. I thought it was about time he started going to the gym hahaha!! It was a pleasure to have engaged in an open dialogue with one of the managers, Amar Ranauta, who was quick in showing me where the toilets were to change my son’s diapers, Before being extremely kind and showcasing the values the company holds through his sincere actions and words. A very good representation of what a manager at such a company should be like!

Fantastic experience: Ali their senior consultant is an absolute legend. Probably the most knowledgeable person ive ever met in all of David Lloyd, and a huge reason why I rejoined the club. Impressive product knowledge, genuinely helpful and caring, and I’m certain I wouldnt have rejoined without him. To anyone reading this review, if you want to be well taken care of during your membership, sign up with Ali and no one else. He’s deserving of an imminent promotion as he’s simply too good not to manage the entire club. Give that man a raise!!

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym, amazing facilities! Visited David Lloyd a few days ago with the kids and was quite impressed by the amenities. Staff was very friendly, Amar in particular was super helpful in showing me around to the gym and DL kids. Really appreciated his welcoming nature! A great space for families, will be back soon!
