Negative experience: Waiters very neglective, ignore requests and additional comments on the app , very untrained, such horrible service for the money I’m paying. other than that gym is very nice.

Fantastic experience: Love this club. Hooked on the classes DL provide particularly blaze, battlebox and cyclone. The personal trainers are really friendly and great fun. Particular mentions to Lewis, Connie, Serena, dani, Kirsty and Lauren - they will get you sweating and starting your day in a good place! Friday night socials are great fun too- ‘blaze and bubbles’ and the new addition ‘blaze and badminton’ . Was fun meeting members from different areas of the club.

Fantastic experience: Attended the Pilates reformer class here on Tuesday evening. Beth the instructor was brilliant. I struggle with my lower back and have been wanting to try Pilates for a while now. The club were brilliant at making recommendations for me. I felt so much better after the class and intend to do this regularly now. The studio is exceptional and has a lot of space. Highly recommend

Positive experience: Just started a 12 month membership here. Classes are fab, especially the vinyasa yoga! Gym equipment is great, lots of space and everything is high tech etc. Staff are super friendly and helpful. General cleanliness is a bit of an issue, with many areas feeling a little grotty eg the hairdrying section in the changing room, showers, toilets (this is also early morning before the masses come in). Some bits of furniture needing replaced in the cafe and changing rooms, could do with a bit of a refurb. Food is also pretty mid but staff are lovely and the service is great. Otherwise, things are good, expensive, but worth it if you're using this as a work space + gym

Fantastic experience: David Lloyd Cardiff is a fantastic Gym, the classes like Blaze, Battlebox, Cyclone and step are great all round classes for strength and cardio. The facilities are great. The food is very nice and the Addition of the pizza oven Is a great touch. The outside pool and bar is like being abroad in the summer. I have been a member of this gym for 18 months I couldn’t recommend it enough. The gym staff are always there to help. Just to recommend if you start at this gym you must try Lauren, Preston, Lewis and Lindsey classes.

Fantastic experience: Visited this club recently with a friend as a guest and had a great day, there's a good amount of facilities for all and the spa is a great way to relax after a hard workout! Food is decent, staff couldnt be more helpful, shout out to Craig lane (one of the managers) who helped find my lost airpods, went above and beyond! Cheers mate!

Fantastic experience: The club is superb, the facilities and staff are top notch. Marc Warren was super helpful in signing me up at the begining of the year. The squash and tennis courts are also fantastic and have got me back into racket sports after several years out. Another bonus is being able to work remotely from there. I would be there every day if time permitted!

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at David Lloyd's. Manager Craig Lane handled a situation very poorly, jumping to conclusions without properly investigating or listening to all parties involved. This led to an unjust accusation and a very unpleasant encounter, which completely ruined my day. His approach was rude and unprofessional. I expect better standards of fairness and professionalism from an establishment like David Lloyd's. Situations like this undermine trust and create a hostile environment for members. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their approach to conflict resolution and member relations.

Negative experience: I have been a member of this club for over 8 years and I always come down at least 4 times a week and there hasn’t been any trouble ever. However today there was an incident in the club where I was harassed by the manager and a member of the staff as they confronted me about an incident. They spoke to me in an aggressive manner and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I was trying to explain to them my side of the story and they were not listening to me and were biased to the other party involved as they know some people who work at the club. I felt completely overpowered as the manager was abusing his authority and trying to patronise me. I did not expect to have to make this claim however I just felt completely helpless today and extremely annoyed. I am a member of the club and have been for a very long time, I should not expect a manager or a member of staff to treat their members like they treated me. It was honestly completely unfair and I am only 18 yet they still took advantage and continued to use an unpleasant tone and speak to me very rudely. This has never been a problem before but I’ve been left no choice. The reception staff are always lovely and the 1 star is for them. The manager who was being rude was called Craig lane. I’ve never spoken to him and my first experience was awful!!

Fantastic experience: Had a tour of the club with Abdullah, really enjoyed what we saw and came back a month later to sign up with help from John. Both were really helpful and we are enjoying being members of the club.

Negative experience: This ‘Club’ is the physical embodiment of a broken promise. Here's why you should steer clear: Can't Swing a Dumbbell After 5pm: Forget about an after work workout. This place becomes a sardine can after 5 pm. The club is oversubscribed and they’ve crammed in way too many members for the measly amount of equipment and space. Good luck getting near anything you actually want to use. Steam Room Sends Shivers Down Your Spine (Not the Good Kind): Their attempt to "update" the steam room with those seizure-inducing bright blue lights is a crime against relaxation. It feels less like a spa and more like one of those dodgy restrooms that have neon lights to deter drug users. Awful! Pricey: For the state this gym and changing rooms are in, the membership fees are an insult. Mould in the showers and feels generally dirty. Parking? Finding a parking spot here is a sport in itself. And if you do manage it, be prepared to navigate a flooded parking bays or a jungle gym of overgrown hedges. Cardiff’s Biggest Crèche: Brace yourself for a chorus of ear-splitting screams on Saturdays and Sundays. This gym transforms into a chaotic crèche, with unsupervised children running amok and parents who seem blissfully unaware. In Conclusion: This club is a total rip-off. Save yourself the frustration and find a place that actually values your hard-earned cash and your sweat equity.

Positive experience: The facility is good, staff friendly, however, the gym is over subscribed. We have been a member for over 6 months, from August 23. If you want to attend most classes, or book a tennis court, you will need the tenacity and strategy as you would with the Glastonbury ticket!

Negative experience: If you love screaming kids, rude receptionists and failing facilities give it a go and you too can pay £150 a month for the privilege of being a David Lloyds member, bargain!!!!

Negative experience: Our membership fees for a couple for gym & swim (no racquets) have increased 50% in 3 years to £97 each per month... £194 each per month in total! Very unfair when current members' partners are being offered membership for £60 per month. For this astronomical fee, we don't even get towels included! For this monthly fee, you would expect a five star service, but this clearly isn't the case. There is barely any steam in the steam room. Sometimes none at all. Instead of fixing this, they've installed piercing blue lights in the ceiling... the opposite of relaxing. Lovely new tiles outside in outdoor area, but no one thought to leave an anti-slip path to the pool. As a result, the outdoor pool is now closed when air temperature is under 0°c, as people have been slipping over on the ice. Such a shame, as swimming in the outdoor pool, which is heated, has been such a pleasure for the last few years on a winter's morning. New tiles installed in the outdoor pool are a light grey colour, which easily shows the dirt. The tiles around the edge of the surface of the water are constantly dirty and grimy, and no one bothers to clean them regularly, which is pretty gross. The floor of the changing rooms and pool area is often covered in black sock fluff in the evening. The ceiling of the changing room showers is usually covered in black mould. Someone needs to get on top of the cleaning, regularly and around the clock, desperately. The drainage of the poolside showers is very slow, so you're often standing ankle deep in the previous person's used shower water. The jacuzzi is finally hot, for the first time in years, instead of being luke warm, so i'll give 2 stars instead of 1. That said, the pressure of the jets is pathetic. MY RESPONSE TO DAVID LLOYD ASKING ME TO SEND AN E-MAIL: I already did this, but was just referred to the "Terms and Conditions".

Fantastic experience: What a fabulous experience! , shame I was only a visitor .Well worth the money if you lived close and could go on a regular basis, would look fabulous in no time ,loads of equipment and help . no Well Being drugs needed!!

Negative experience: Mis sold membership and complaint ignored for months I was not informed of the 3 month membership and told explicitly that there was only a 12 month option which was a lie, upon complaining I was phoned and advised that they were going to try and get my membership cancelled which has not been done my emails go ignored for weeks and despite my request for emails as I can't answer the phone at work they didn't email then sent an email saying they'd call which I either missed or didn't get as I don't recognise the number but an email is not an unreasonable request and the fact that they have ignored a complaint for 2 months is telling Also the other complaints you see as true limited facilities for the price you have to pay to borrow a towel for a guest despite already paying over 100 per month

I absolutely love the classes - the instructors are great and really helpful, they know how to motivate you and make it fun (particularly Lauren)! The group exercise classes are amazing - all the instructors take the time to make you feel welcomed and support if you're struggling through the class. Fantastic experience: I recently rejoined as a member I’m so happy with the service. Joining classes is such a great way to get stuck into improving your personal fitness as well as meeting great people. The coaches and leaders of the classes are great, a personal favourite of mine being coaches Will and Ewan in pickleball, as well as tennis improvers sessions. The energy and enthusiasm put towards the classes make every penny worth it. If financially viable, I highly recommended joining with a club+ membership.

Positive experience: Lovely pool, and lovely jacuzzi and sauna. The cafe is great too and the staff are friendly. My boyfriend took me here on his guest passes and I love it. Unfortunately it's too expensive for me to join as a member.

Negative experience: It’s cheap and beats sleeping in your car. You have about the same amount of room though. Stifling in the room without air con. Too cold with air con.

Fantastic experience: By far the best club in and around Cardiff. The facilities are first class and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: I haven't been to this Sports Centre but I have been to the ZIP Hotel which shares the site. It's very popular so book in advance or you'll never get a room.

Fantastic experience: I am a member at Southampton west end and was in Cardiff over the Christmas break. The Cardiff club is fantastic (much better than west end). We had a nice welcome from the reception staff once they knew we were from a different DL club. We played tennis and the courts we in great condition, clean and tidy. We also used the indoor pool and changing rooms all were very clean and well looked after. The Cardiff club was much bigger than the DL club I’m a member of and in much better condition then west end. We also had breakfast at Cardiff DL and couple of times and it was fantastic. We didn’t have to wait to long even tough the club was very busy.. If you aren’t a DL member and live in Cardiff you need to check it out. When you visit Southampton avoid west end!
