Negative experience: Staff are nice and the equipment is ok. Downsides are that it's located on one of the most disgusting streets in the western world. The aircon is woefully insufficient, so it is always boiling hot. The changing rooms often stink of weed. There is a constant lack of handsoap in the toilets, which is ridiculous considering what germs could be being spread all over the equipment. The music is so loud you cannot hear the music coming through your headphones unless you turn it up to dangerous levels.

Insufficient Equipment: Some of the equipment appears to be inadequate, particularly during peak hours. This occasionally leads to long waiting times for members. 2. Prolonged Occupation of Stations: It has been observed that some members occupy workout stations for extended periods, causing delays for others. A reminder to members about being mindful of their time at stations might be helpful. 3. Personal Belongings in Workout Areas: It is common for members to bring backpacks, coats, and jackets into workout spaces. This not only creates clutter but can also pose safety concerns. Members could be reminded to store their belongings in the designated locker areas. 4. Monitoring Common Areas: I kindly suggest that common areas be monitored more closely by the staff to ensure proper usage and adherence to gym rules. Clear communication and timely reminders would certainly contribute to a better environment. 5. Members Without Shoes: Additionally, it may be helpful to remind members who are working out without shoes. This is important for both hygiene and safety reasons. Positive experience: decent gym for the price, and has more or less everything you need although some of the machine’s ROM feel odd and the smith machine feels terrible. Also, while it’s not the gym’s fault the etiquette of people who go here is abysmal. Weights scattered everywhere, nobody puts anything back and just looks a mess. But at the end of the day you get what you pay for around £15 a month, you can’t complain too much

Negative experience: PureGym gets a 3.5/5 overall from myself. 24/7, good price month to month, has most of what anyone needs, however they are busy, frequently have poor hygiene, higher rate of inconsiderate users and missing or worn out accessories, plus often misplaced or missing weights. Manchester Market Street Good first impression when entering and cardio machine area but... Don't like the equipment over two floors or at least setup, staff friendly but few male users here that need a wash, hope they are not regulars for sake of locals. Free weights not best laid out but I get why they have been done the way they have for small area they are crammed into but a lot of inconsiderate or transitory users who can't seem to do maths made the featherweight area a real aggravation to use.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Fantastic experience: A great facility that exceeded expectations! Visiting from Vancouver I wasn’t sure if there would be a gym nearby, and luckily I was able to come across Pure Gym during the offering of their free 3-day pass. Organized space, very friendly staff (Louis in particular!), and overall a great location to get in a workout while on vacation.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to margaritas pump class for about 3 years on and off now. I go whenever I can make it around work and I’d like to do it more often! It’s one of the best if not the best and most enjoyable gym classes I’ve been too and I enjoy that I can keep pushing myself even though ive been going a while! 10/10 would always recommend this class! I’ve moved so I have a closer gym to me now, but I will always continue to come to market street for this class!

Fantastic experience: PureGym is well equipped and always clean. For a busy working mom of 2, with no prior gym experience or discipline, my personal trainer, Margarita, is the one that makes the difference. For the past 6 months, Margarita has been the one motivating me and giving me the discipline I need, to shed those extra pounds, get fit and healthy. She is extremely experienced and knowledgeable in her field and has a sixth sense when it comes to my daily physical status, adjusting the exercises accordingly. Extremely lucky to have found Margarita!

Negative experience: I’ve decided to go to this branch on the basis that it’s close to work and more convenient for me. Unfortunately I don’t know whether I’ll be continuing due to the condition of the weight area. Plates and dumbbells scattered everywhere and not in order. You find yourself searching high and low for the right weight to find it’s the other side of the rack. The condition of the equipment is also very dated and in need of attention/replacement. You’d think for £30+ per month there would be some updated machinery but this isn’t the case. It’s a great location and it has so much potential but without a correct balance of funding or better management, it’ll never improve.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. Fantastic experience: I've been using this gym for a few weeks now and it's been great. I'm coming back to exercise after a serious knee injury (ACL tear) and the PT I spoke to was extremely helpful and took the time to inquire about my current level of ability, and gave me pointers on how to train accordingly taking my injury into full account. In all honesty, he offered me better advice then what my doctor has and I'm feeling much better for it, and now have the confidence to train safely. The gym is 24hrs too, so it's handy to visit if you're working late or just want to avoid it at peak times. My only gripe is that it could do with a couple more of the advanced spinning bikes - but this is a very minor issue.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoy the gym classes, especially on a Sunday morning with Redwan. Lots of variety and a great workout. Also like that he amends based on your ability and is really approachable.

Fantastic experience: Been using this gym for a few years now, always has everything I need and the classes are great. I started working with one of the PTs Sam after going to his classes a few times- he's super friendly and approachable, so even though I lacked a lot of confidence he made the process of getting into the gym properly really easy. Have only got more confident and progressed since then, so can't recommend him enough!

Fantastic experience: I've been training at this PureGym location for a number of years and I never really had any problems with it. There is a good selection of equipment, and it's not too crowded outside of specific times in the year. I work out with Sam, one of the personal trainers in that location, for about a year and I've been very happy with our collaboration and my fitness progress since starting. I'd strongly recommend anyone to give it a go, it's definitely better than working out on your own!

Fantastic experience: Really straightforward gym, has everything you need and never really too busy. 3 floors as well so you can usually find a corner if you want. Sam Wood offers PT sessions there, really solid honest approach to the sessions and he'll help you out if you ask him out of your sessions too.

Negative experience: I come this gym all the time I got told to use the upstairs showers because the cleaner was cleaning which is fair enough I'm waiting outside the upstairs shower for a few mins so I decide to unlock it myself as I've not seen no one going in or out the whole time I was working out I knocked before and some crack head is in there telling me to get out. I tell the cleaner and she isn't phased I ask if I can just use the downstairs ones quickly and she still tells me no not gonna stop me from coming but I feel like the downstairs showers should be in use at all times regardless especially when the other one is occupied by a crack head

Fantastic experience: I've been training with one of the personal trainers here for the past 4-5 months, and they've been incredible in helping me grow my confidence with all areas of the gym. All of the staff are super supportive and friendly, and really help to foster an positive environment to work out in.

Positive experience: This is a nice gym. It's on 2 floors, which I prefer 1 monolithic space. It's a nice building (I like the large glass skylight) and the town centre location will suit anyone living in Manchester. The gym is clean and has everything you need and the staff are friendly. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the weights area is unusably busy weekdays after work (the cardio area is OK). All gyms are busy at this time, but this gym seems to have every piece of weights equipment occupied, usually by someone playing with their phone. If that's you, please stop being so selfish.

Fantastic experience: Well equipped and spacious gym, specially considering its Market Street location. I find it convenient to have access to a fully equipped gym in the middle of the city centre at very reasonable prices. Staff are always helpful as well. I’ve been training with Cole, one of their staff PTs and I’ve enjoyed every session.

Fantastic experience: PureGym Market Street is a great gym. I’ve been a member now for about 5 months and I feel like it’s the first time I’ve been able to stick to a routine. It’s really close to where I live, it’s friendly and accessible, and the Pure Gym staff are great. I have a PT (Lina) who has taught me so much, I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: What a great and big gym can be busy but that’s every gym at peak hour. I met a lovely girl called Lina whose one of the trainers and she did a fabulous stretch class and I’ll soon be training 1-1 with her as a result :)

Fantastic experience: Great gym, staff are really friendly. I used to have Cole as a PT, he would make my sessions really enjoyable but also pushing me to my limit. I also used to go to Coles strength classes on a Friday afternoon, he would always make sure everyone felt comfortable with anything he had planned for us to do & made the session interactive. I would highly recommend this gym & the staff that work there!!

Fantastic experience: I never attended a gym class, until earlier this year, they intimidated me and I still have self confidence issues with my body, ability and overall stamina working with Sam Wood however makes a lot of that self doubt go away, he is super approachable, genuine, and great at allowing people to be themselves. His classes I attend are my favourite, especially Spin he is worth turning up early doors before work for and he is genuinely sad if we miss a class. A fantastic gym in a great location and an instructor worth getting out of bed to train with.

Fantastic experience: Never really wanted to go the gym before I met Cole at puregym. He is my motivation! We have so much fun and he is unbelievably knowledgeable about all my aches and pains and how we can target areas to help. My sessions always fly by! One specific thing about Cole is that he really listens. He pushes you but he listens and acts on what he’s heard. The gym is great with lots of machines and a really friendly vibe

Negative experience: Please for the love of god can we have hot water in the showers

We have recently made slight changes to the shower temperatures, to 33 degrees, both to control our energy usage and to reduce our carbon footprint. Positive experience: I have been to a few puregyms around the UK and this is one of the best ones. Considering its in the city centre the wait time for the machines isn't to bad and is generally not over crowded with people. Couple of downsides to this gym, one being the men's changing rooms... The air conditioning doesent seem to work which makes it extremely hot in there.. Lockers look ancient and unsafe. The music in puregym is always rubbish.. Whichever one I have been to... They play this generic music that's not motivating for a good pump.. All in all a decent gym
