Fantastic experience: Great equipment

Negative experience: ️The dirtiest gym I've ever been a part of. The issue of not having enough employees to keep the place clean is persistent and not unique to this one instance. Additionally, the ONE AND ONLY soap dispenser is nearly always empty ‼️‼️

Positive experience: The hygiene quality is degrading every day here. In a gym full of people sweating it out, zero sanitizers and zero paper towels is a frequent occurrence. Sad to see.

Fantastic experience: I really recommend the Cycling class with Ben. Very easy to follow, clear instructions, encouraging to do your best but without pushing you out of your limits! So you can enjoy and improve without risking injuries.

Fantastic experience: Great place, great atmosphere.

Negative experience: Not a clean gym, equipments, changing room and showers.

Positive experience: The gym and it's staff are great but a few of the members are complete idiots. The female locker room is absolutely disgusting sometimes but that is no fault of the gym itself, it's just some women are absolute animals. I use the gym everyday and I am more than happy with the cost and all the promotions I get with my membership.

Negative experience: gym is always quite busy with equipment left out. changing rooms and gym spaces never seem clean, and gym often closes for a few days due to flooding

Negative experience: The next step is to bring your own shower. The money spent is always the same (a little more to be honest) but not the service offered: nice work, guys!!!

Positive experience: One of the best Gyms in the UK.

Positive experience: I bought a day pass, and visited Sunday around 11.30am the gym had plenty of equipment available a was pretty clean. The only issue I had really was the fact I watched a member who was walking around with a camera on a tripod recording themselves I fully understand people do this is to watch themselves back and study there form etc BUT I do not see why other people who have gone there to better themselves should feel self conscious working out and at expense of a few likes a on a potential social media video, the fact there is not any personal permission granted by myself for this makes me think this should be reviewed.

Negative experience: The gym is filthy, and there's no manager here. When I came in, Ben ( one of the PT'S was hoovering and cleaning downstairs, but when I got into the female changing rooms, they are disgusting. The amount of hair on the floor is gross. The evening cleaners do absolutely nothing. The only cleaner who actually does clean properly is the Muslim lady who comes on a Thursday. You need to sort out the cleaning company, this isn't acceptable

Fantastic experience: PureGym in Romford, located within the Brewery shopping mall, is truly exceptional. Negative experience: Upset with PureGym. No air ventilation for germs. No santising on equipment. Parking is an issue too. Going to go TheGym and give them a go.

Positive experience: Pretty cool gym with all the equipments you might need. Not crowded most times and friendly atmosphere. I like it

Negative experience: I am very upset coz cycle class trainer Mike volume is too much high ,it's hurting ears ,i can't work out side treadmill,it should be according to inside class ,not to disturb other outside area person ,no need too much high volume

Positive experience: This gym has everything you need for a gym workout but the issue is it’s always overcrowded. Even if you go in the middle of the day it is jam packed and it’s difficult to get on stations. Not the gym’s fault it’s popular I guess. It’s also always in a mess. Weights all over the place. I’m a regular at other PureGym’s and their weight sections are kept in perfect order. I feel management could improve this gym a lot. Recently it took 4 weeks just to replace the soap dispenser in the gents toilet. Also more tidying up around the gym would make it a more pleasant place to train.

Negative experience: Felt uneasy using the gym as camera use is prolific by other members. Clearly states in the rules that cameras are not to be used. Staff need to be more vigilant !

Positive experience: No toilet tissue in any of the toilets but apart from that I had a really good experience would definitely recommend.

Positive experience: Fully functional gym with a large selection of equipment. Not really much that can be said about it other then it does the job. Open 24 hours and can get very busy during the day time with large groups so I prefer night time when it's for people who actually want to work out. But if you need an easy gym with plenty of equipment it's perfect.

Fantastic experience: Big gym. Lots of equipment

Positive experience: Open 24/7 and with enough equipment that you should never have to wait for the item you want. Finally, all at a price that is a fraction of all the other major brands

Negative experience: Update: Closed again due to flooding, this time for several days. Shameful. Pathetic excuse for a gym. Closed again due to flooding. This is happening way too often for a gym that advertises itself as 24/7 and this is now at least the 4th time in less than a year that it has been closed due to some sort of water / drainage related issue. "Upgrading" membership to allow access to other gyms that are inconvenient to get to in these situations doesn't cut it. You should be providing compensation for the days that members have been paying for the gym while being unable to use it. While checking your website to see if the gym has reopened (which it still hasn't) I also found that new members can join with an off-peak membership for £18.99 per month, however I have been paying £20.99 per month for exactly the same thing. As a long time member that originally joined before the gym opened, I find this very disrespectful. Check that you are not being overcharged too!

Fantastic experience: Puregym in romford is my perfect gym. No posers No drama Ward work Spin classes are lit Joel and lewis are class

Negative experience: 1st June - Closed - 'no water'. Nothing else at the retail park seemed to be effected.

Negative experience: Staff are lovely, however this gym is honestly the dirtiest and messiest I have ever trained in. Equipment left everywhere 24/7, dumbbells never in order, no suspensions/bans are being reinforced for lazy messy members. I only train here a few times a week and it’s always an absolute tip!! Fear for the day someone has a serious injury here and it’ll ruin the reputation of a facility with good potential!

Negative experience: Too many people , staff don’t care much about the place. Classes getting cancelled nearly every morning . A year ago was so good in there . All the staff and classes was so good.

Negative experience: The manager is too busy getting cheap Botox and lip filler to actually pay attention to what’s going on in the gym. People slamming empty barbells witch isn’t only loud and annoying but also damages the bars. Letting cables crash down at the end of a set etc…enforce some gym etiquette!! the young girl looks fed up everyday whilst tucking into a large take away coffee and pastry greggs or wenzels. Not really what you want to see from someone promoting health. Young male PT actually looks like he knows what he’s doing but I’ve never seen him say a word to his clients, just stood in silence for the whole session. Dwain is the only one who cracks a smile, trains properly and shows any interest in what the members are doing

Fantastic experience: Spacious gym, I really enjoy the split level especially as a "shy" gym goer. Personally I really like not having staff walking around (no offence), as in other gyms you almost feel watched, although I'm fully aware there are cameras on the gym floor. Haven't tried the classes yet but the studio looks great so I'm really looking forward to it. Bathrooms/changing rooms are amazing, although I'm wondering why the showers have a glass door? I haven't used them as I live nearby and I just shower at home, but I really wonder about the privacy aspect. Granted I never showered at any gym so I don't know if the etiquette is to shower naked or with a bathing suit on, lol, but still. Just a thought!

Positive experience: Good place to work out The Gym is Big plus membership is cheap

Positive experience: Decent budget gym. Equipment quite good as well. Just wondering if there is plans to ever get a hack squat installed?

Negative experience: So glad I left this gym. Visited it today as a gym buddy, and it was terrible. I knew they had issues with lack of available equipment but they’ve literally shoved addition equipment in any available space, which looks ridiculous. As usual, staff are unfriendly, and all gather round their table outside the office chatting. Was unable to find matching kettlebells (as usual) so was unable to do my workout properly. Paying a bit extra for a cleaner gym, with better quality equipment was the best thing I did. I gym 7 days a week, staff are nicer too, whereas before I used to dread going to pure gym.

Fantastic experience: Good gym

Negative experience: The Romford Gym men's showers are disgustingly dirty. The treadmills are substandard, maximum speed of 12 which is pretty slow. Gym would benefit from a punch bag.

Fantastic experience: As a member of the Romford Puregym I have learnt to slowly love this place. There is a nice friendly vibe in the entire building and the staff are ridiculously helpful. It's rare to have such a sense of comradeship from other members but this club has it. Mandee (the manager) has helped me and my partner out on a few occasions so I can only hazard a guess at how many people she helps on a daily basis. One of the P.T's - Femi - has been amazing too with a few tips on lifting form.

Fantastic experience: New to this area due to change of job… Gym is like my temple (stress relief) build up of tension unknowingly… on my breaks now miles away from home I can roll up to Puregym’s (Romford) as a member and train. Thank u Puregym

Negative experience: Rammed every hour of the day with limited staff and broken kit. Don't go here.

Negative experience: Packed beyond use

Positive experience: Very good gym for the price. Clean, well maintained with a lot of equipment and classes. Open 24hr I think. Good range of barbells and dumbbells if that's your thing like it is for me

Negative experience: Messy, rude people, never reply when messages sent, constantly closed due to leaks usually dripping down from toilets. Been a member since opened and cant wait to move to a different gym next month. Aviod gym

Positive experience: Good atmosphere but need a 55kg and 60kg dumbbell.

Negative experience: Appreciate it's a lower end gym however to not have working aircon, constant water supply, or clean changing rooms / toilet facilities is just simply unacceptable. The changing rooms smell of rotten egg, aircon doesn't work and there has been multiple occasions when the water fountains have no water supply or with only a small trickle coming out meaning it's impossible to have any water - is this even legal for a gym? The anti bacterial spray pumps rarely work, and apart from Dwaine, the rest of the staff sit there looking like they've sucked on a lemon - far from "approachable" as they like to describe themselves. I'd recommend you go elsewhere.

Positive experience: Paid for couple of months was extremely busy anytime I go so I cancelled my membership

Positive experience: Been with pure gym for about two years now, Ilford branch is really nice and Romford branch is nice too. Only issue is the placement of the Fixed Barbells in this branch, it’s literally near the mirror where the other chest machines and bicep machines are…it’s quite an awkward placement, with little to no room, if you get more in-experienced people they can easily break the mirror. Ilford has there’s near where all the free weights are, which is much better. It Seems to have been moved as two years ago, it was where the free weights section was this would be more better (and really make more sense!) especially since several people including me were complaining about it today.

Positive experience: Decent gym. Decent equipment. Showers are terrible and very dirty. I understand it’s a budget gym but a clean every couple of hours wouldn’t go amiss. An overnight clean is fine but you need intraday cleans too, which prob won’t effect the balance sheet too much but improve the gym experience.

Positive experience: Nice gym center with nice environment. Moderately populated.

Positive experience: The gym is upto the mark , there is no such complain . Its always clean and organised. The system of entrance and exit is remarkable . I would have given a full 5 star but if only there were a few equipments more added to the collection , like hack squat , seated calf raises and a couple of more chest machines .

Fantastic experience: I was quite concerned when I started here because of COVID. However I think they've done really well and everyone seems to respect the cleaning of the equipment between exercises. The place has plenty of equipment and well spaced out.

Positive experience: It's ok. Like any commercial gym it gets way too busy and there's a plethora of cardio machines going empty whilst people crawl over each other to get to the weights, but it has a decent selection of machines and 24 hour access which is good. Some of the machines are a bit strange and don't seem to allow for full range of motion, and a lot of the cable machines seem to be missing carabiniers half the time. Luckily I only paid around 27 pound for a month and I think for that price point it's worth it.

Positive experience: Decent gym overall. Can get very busy at times which means a lot of waiting around for machines. Some of the machines need routine maintenance and repairs which are overdue. No free parking

Negative experience: The saying how the grate have fallen perfectly describes this gym in 3 weeks it's gone from being an amazing gym with a grate atmosphere and incredible to staff to being a gohst town all the grat staff no longer seem to be around equipment is not being kept in good working order temperature is in a flux one minute ac is on full and next minute it's not. I've been a member of this gym from opening day and it's so sad to see this happen but oh well I guess it's time to move on and find a new gym. This all started wen a new member of staff joined and took control of the gym.

Positive experience: Large space and easily accessible. Only ISSUE, parking. Parking is always at a fee, inc. Sundays. A min. of £1.50 per session (if you time your workouts right). Not worth it unfortunately.
