Negative experience: The staff are all miserable and just try to find ways to ban young lads, made me pay twice and wouldn’t resolve an issue, banned me because apparently I walked through the gate with someone else when I didn’t the code scanned and just didn’t close pathetic

Positive experience: Decent selection of equipment. Classes are quite exposed to the rest of the gym.
Negative experience: Not the best version of a Puregym but adequate. Clientele jumping over the entrance gates whilst seemingly the coaches turning a blind eye does not paint an authoritative, positive picture of the gym or town.

Positive experience: Decent gym.... But depends when you use it. Can be extremely busy, and you just want to leave. Can be a youth club, dozens of teens chatting and surrounding machines. Yet they are constantly promoting offers and out in town desperate for more members. Needs cleaning stations and a towel rule to help with sweaty users. As most other gyms do. Garbage loud music and no TVs. Which means pretty much everyone is wearing headphones. Fine by me. 2 showers is crazy.... Especially when they don't go a month without problems. But you train in the quiet hours, great selection of machines, great staff, loads of awesome members that work out really hard. I would leave tomorrow though, if there was somewhere else similar price, less kids.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoy using pure gym Uttoxeter, friendly staff and good people in the gym who just want to get on with their sessions, just like me. Just want to say a massive thankyou to Kristian the PT, he is really helping me achieve my goals and helps me push through the session and make the most of my time there, using good form and doing it safely.

Negative experience: Two staff members (Eve and Christian) are both rude and offhand, unless you are the perfect ‘gym type’ , far from the advertised experience I was expecting.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy the classes that are available, the staff are professional and friendly, the only thing is that i wish that classes were more available in the evening and the air conditioning was better

Positive experience: I've had to amend this review since visiting other puregyms nearby. Overall its not a bad gym, but for the price, it's disappointing. It's more expensive than any other Puregym I have used. It's far smaller than most others, it has no Drinks machine for flavoured water, just a very slow fountain for tap water. It has quite a limited amount of equipment, and a huge space is reserved for the studio, and functional area, which is a space that could be used better, enabling more choice equipment. I think it's more unfair that to increase your membership to plus so that to use other gyms, you are penalised for being a member at Uttox, and it costs far more to use all together, simply because Uttox is so expensive. The classes can be a little loud when you are trying to work out, but regardless it doesn't really bother me too much. The gym needs more equipment for the price, machine for flavoured water at least, and review of the cost. But we all know that wont happen.. after all.. its PureGym.

Negative experience: Cost is in the higher tier for pure gym locations but is lacking equipment that is available in cheaper locations. Not enough equipment for busy periods - Only 1 spin bike (both stoke gyms have 15+ each). Equipment isn't fixed quickly enough - Spin bike hasn't worked properly for 3 months (not showing rpm) both cross trainers out of order for a week now. Poor management. If the leisure centre had better opening hours i'd go there instead

Positive experience: Not the worst gym, not the best. There definitely could be a better use of the space to add some extra stations ect. Seems like an after school club most evenings where kids are definitely getting in for free and all congregating together. (Some also do train and work hard) biggest annoyance is it seems to be regularly shut for different issues with a big name gym like Pure this is frustrating, and alternative gym is 12 miles away.

Positive experience: Equipment fresh and up to date as you'd expect with a newly opened gym, but no anti bac facilities for wiping down of equipment could be found, doesn't seem to be any free functioning WiFi and also I know it's a minor thing but no hook on the back of the toilet door for some reason? Loving the kit though and the 18% treadmill incline

PureGym prides itself on being able to offer state of the art fitness facilities to our members in a safe and welcoming environment. We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Negative experience: Very disappointed not happy got my account suspended for apparently (pin abuse) but I only come by self this is the second not happy at all it’s like I’m wasting my money !!!

Positive experience: A decently equipped gym that is an upgrade to what uttoxeter has had before. It’s clean and larger than you would think. It needs dumbbells heavier than 40’s like most other gyms, another cable row machine as there always seems to be a queue waiting for it, whereas there are multiple cable fly stations which seems excessive. I really enjoy going here but I feel it needs a few of these improvements to keep pace with any competitors who may come to uttoxeter.

Negative experience: Extremely cramped in the busy period's and very difficult to use any of the equipment . Changing facilities are virtually none existent for the size of the gym and the number of people using it ,2 changing cubicles and 3 showers,who ever thought that was a good idea needs a head wobble. What facilities are here are not looked after at all , very dirty , feels like sometimes your showering with a small animal with the amount of hair in shower tray . For a new gym it's very, very poor.. someone really needs to re think about the amount or lack of facilities. The equipment itself is absolutely fine , it's just everything else. My old pure gym at Stafford which was clean all the time, and it was very rare to have a issue getting onto the equipment and cheaper than uttoxeter, seems like we are being ripped off in the new gym. Loads of people also get in for free when they follow people through on the gate, and no one seems to bat an eye lid . Up your game please pure. Showers blocked again for a change , The class music and instructor volume sometimes is horrendously loud , even with noise cancelling earphones it LOUD , it seems to be the women instructor's mainly. I have question why on earth does it need to be that loud, and I just get a generic same line company response .

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day.
