Our comment from FitFit UK about Inverness Leisure:
Inverness Leisure offers a fantastic range of facilities, making it a great choice for families and fitness enthusiasts alike. The indoor leisure pool is particularly popular, featuring various attractions such as slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river that children love. Despite occasional closures and staffing issues, many visitors appreciate the enjoyment the pool provides, especially for kids of all ages. The 25-meter competition pool is well equipped for serious swimmers, with training lanes and adjustable depths for different activities.
While many guests commend the friendly staff and cleanliness of the facilities, there are complaints about overcrowding during peak times, which may detract from the overall experience. Some amenities, such as the outdoor pool and certain activities, are often closed or limited, which can lead to disappointment for those wishing to use them. However, the affordable pricing for entry and the availability of private showers add to its appeal.
In summary, Inverness Leisure maintains a welcoming environment with diverse options for fun and fitness, though improvements in staff availability and facility upkeep could enhance the experience further.

Inverness Leisure: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Fab pool..so much for children of all ages, toddlers upwards.Nice and warm too!
Negative experience: Feels like they're trying to run it down so they can knock ot down. Used to be a thriving, great swimming pool with loads of features. Now the outdoor pool is permanently shut, the rapids are closed off most of the time, if the slides are even active only 1 or 2 are on, the lockers are all broken, the tiles are minging. If it's not a premeditated attempt to run it down it's chronic mismanagement by under qualified importers. I feel bad for the 5 star reviews guys, but if they ever leave inverness their minds will be blown by even semi competent swimming pools.
Positive experience: Pay for leisure subscription, but unable to secure my bag in locker, as event taking place. The electronic centre had been set up in dry side locker areas. Lockers in changing room insecure, as no CCTV. This is unfair on subscription members.
Fantastic experience: Great venue for cold, dark and long winter days
Positive experience: A great selection of activities to take part in. Swimming pool for families is a good size with periodic waves. There is a "river rapid" section, but this is closed more than it's open which i think is a staff issue? The comp pool is 25m and has 3 training lanes as well as an adjustable depth section for aqua aerobics and children's lessons. All in it has 8 lanes.
Positive experience: Great concert. Crowd management and organisation of ticket control and entry was a shambles. Poorly set up.
Positive experience: This is a great pool for kids, there are flumes, a wave pool and a lazy river. Not all the features are open at all times so it is worth calling ahead to avoid disappointment.
Negative experience: Leisure pool was packed. Slides and wild river closed. Competition pool freezing.
Positive experience: Shame not all flumes working .. lockers a bit fiddly
Positive experience: Nice pool good for swimming and flumes. Problem is that flumes are never open (or lazy river) outside of the holidays. Need more staff working.
Negative experience: Booked a spinning class arrived 2 minutes late. Class on 09/09/24 11:15 I arrived 11:17. The woman was screaming through her mic for us to grab to get out and get bikes. So rude and unprofessional when we booked and pay to attend the class.
Negative experience: Worst service I have ever seen, people serving were more interested in having a chat than serving customers. Fun pool is bot worth it, they only turn on one activity in the pool at a time so you get very little time on the slides etc.
Positive experience: Facility ok, swimming pool average. The place would benefit from a bit of refresher work to modernise. Won’t be back any time soon
Fantastic experience: Really great for a tenner to use the sauna jacuzzi and leisure pool. I even went on the slides they were fun. The lazy river is a highlight. The indoor outdoor pool was closed when we were there
Negative experience: Kids were having a literal whale of a time facilities are decent and clean. Would only say someone's gone abit kill joy with the blanket rule about no jewellery on the slides. Chains and watches fair enough, but nose and ear piercings is abit needy. Print off a waver and let's all live a little
Fantastic experience: My 9 year old daughter really enjoyed it here
Fantastic experience: Great place for a bit of fun with the family - wave machine, rapids and slides. The vortex was not on, which was a shame as it used to be amazing. Today was the first time I used the ‘health suite’ with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and they were all excellent and well kept.
Negative experience: I paid £20 to use the gym and sauna only to be told that when I popped out to collect my wife and daughter I would have to pay again to go back in... Pretty sure this is just the front desk being unkind not policy.
Fantastic experience: Went to the swimming baths part - nicely laid out, very clean, good access for everyone. A credit to the town.
Negative experience: Kids pool very slippy on the lead up to the slides. Could do with a good clean.
Fantastic experience: A really well equipped gym with lovely staff and a very affordable membership. Gets pretty busy in the afternoons but aside from that, love training here!
Negative experience: WENT TO POOL TODAY ...SHOCKED AT THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE BEING LET IN....THERE WASNT ROOM TO ENJOY THE POOL....COULDNT GET A LOCKER..
Fantastic experience: Soooooperb, just passing through towards the NC500 and found this gem of a leisure centre so in for a lane swim I go into a beautiful competition sized 25m pool very well run, though I didn't use any other facilities they look to be excellent, all areas of the pool are very clean, well attended, showers are great, lockers just need to insert your own 4digit code, crikey some of them even have a coat hanger ,kiddies pool with Flume's, seating areas all around, free WiFi, coffee bar even outside the centre with a fish pond with Lillie's and a fountain, also outside there looks like there was a small cold water pool, mebe a jacuzzi?? I didn't ask but it was empty of water each time I visited. People of Inverness, you have an absolute gem of a centre here and it certainly knocks spots if all the ones I've visited on my travels from way down south ..I wish it was on my doorstep and it's also very reasonable price plus free parking!!! ..it's a 10 star rating from me,5 isn't enough
Fantastic experience: The place is just therapeutic in itself It's calming and an awesome place to be for relaxation
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, just a pity the cafe is no longer in the same building but not a big issue
Fantastic experience: Travelled from NZ for a week. Gym has great facilities and wasn’t over crowded.
Fantastic experience: Perfect place to enjoy time with kids , swimming and play and go for toddlers sessions , highly recommended
Positive experience: Good leisure pool but no cafe for spectators. I couldn't swim but would have enjoyed a nice coffee
Positive experience: Gym is ok but some staff are great but some are very annoying and rude. gym only open to 9 to 6 on weekends. Pointless rule where 16 or under can only stay till 6.30pm after school with only having 1.30 hour to work out after finishing school
Fantastic experience: Often visit to take part in the United SK8S Family Roller Disco. Nice big sports centre. Friendly staff. Great location with other fantastic recreation areas nearby. Only down side is parking is not free, spaces can be small and often full despite being a very large car park.
Fantastic experience: There are two pools, a 25 metre competition pool and a family pool with flumes, lazy river and wave machine. A well equipped gymnasium and both indoor and outdoor sports facilities
Positive experience: Good pool for families, very very busy though, and at times, it felt like there were too many people in to enjoy ourselves properly. Get there on opening for best results with ques! For reference, we went on a Saturday afternoon and had to que around 30-40 minutes with 3 kids, which wasn't the most fun.
Negative experience: Pure pish. No slides or river open on a Saturday for the kids
Negative experience: Awful place to go. The slides were not even open on a Sunday which should just be common sense don't go here
Positive experience: Great in the summer when we visited and all parts of the leisure pool were open but didn’t realise in winter months it doesn’t always have everything available due to staffing issues. Great facilities though and pools aren’t too cold. Our kids loved it all three times we’ve been!
Positive experience: We went one Friday afternoon whilst visiting the area. Really clean changing rooms and lockers. Pool area spotless too. Staff helpful. The main swimming pool was being used for lessons so we just had the same family pool to use. Wave machine good. Slides were closed and Cafe closed which was a shame. Otherwise nice pool to visit for a hour or so.
Positive experience: The flumes were not all working and the one with the rings was the main reason I took my kids through rest was very fun
Negative experience: Complete waste of time pool didn't open till 4 so had to kill 2 hours to only go back to find out they were only putting on the waves no flumes kind of pointless so we had two disappointed children dangle the carrot but don't give it don't waste you time or money
Positive experience: Too overcrowded and overall not the best experience for us. Both Perth and Dundee offers better children's areas inside the pool, maybe add some more features for younger kids?
Negative experience: A toddlers swimming pool that doesnt open until 4pm!!! who makes these times up ? Obviously someone without children!!!! My toddler is at home having tea at 4pm before bath and bed! ridiculous that there is not an earlier slot for toddlers, the council say not enough people are using the facilities well guys this is why!!! we are not using them because of stupid timeings
Negative experience: 21/1/2024 Slides were closed and water was freezing. Air was freezing also and only relieve was the luke warm showers.
Fantastic experience: Great venue! Get value for money! First time visiting for quite some time today, customer service from Marie at the front desk was outstanding!!!
Fantastic experience: Highlife highland website is a bit annoying to use, but the centre is good. Not sure why there isn't wider availability but usually like find a time to go.
Fantastic experience: Pool and slides are just fantastic. The family changing facilities are just on point, very well thought out. There’s a baby changing table plus a baby chair that baby can go in it whilst you change. Meaning kiddo is safe. Lots of fun activities for kids and families. Highly recommend.
Positive experience: It's great but it's too busy, pool is quite cold I find and often the flumes etc are closed when we go
Positive experience: Stopped of here for a shower £8.30 for 2 showers private rooms clean and warmer , bit dear but good
Negative experience: Flumes or lazy river are never on when we go which is often. Water seems to be dirty alot of the time. Needs TLC
Positive experience: It used to be great but has gone so far downhill. It needs a lot of TLC now. This month, we've been twice, the jacuzzi in the health suite hasn't been working. Charging over £10 per person when a big part of it isn't useable is not really ideal. The jacuzzi downstairs doesn't seem to be working either. The flumes are rarely on, nor is the lazy river/rapids. Just seems like it costs a lot to visit for not a lot on offer anymore.
Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff, helped me and my son a lot, and great facilities
Positive experience: Staff very helpful. Only chance for one run on slide as the others closed or maintainence As expected for rainy day in holiday very busy. Changing area very clean.
Fantastic experience: Good equipment at the gym and staff friendly and helpful,I am hopefully going to keep it up this time an go on the regular my waistline wants me to
Positive experience: Toddler pool warm Could do with upgrading tiles look like they need replaced dirty looking. Main leisure pool is cold
Positive experience: Great pool, a bit cold but not too bad. 2 x Flumes open. Was very clean and know ds enjoyed it
Negative experience: Lack of employees and parking is too small. The cafe has been closed and you have to wait 20 mins in the queue for the next next band when you go swimming. Someone needs to get hold of this place and think big. Some of the facilities and activities are great, if you can get parked or served.
Positive experience: Visited on holiday here to do some lane swimming. The website hasn't been updated since Covid ; you can turn up and swim in the morning. You swim across the deep end (not up and down the pool, shallow to deep). Changing village nice and clean, very nice lockers (no need for £ coin, you set a PIN). Individual showers in need of updating though!
Positive experience: Decent swimming pool. Free parking. Has a wave machine, lazy river and flumes (currently closed for maintenance). 25m competition pool too. Changing rooms are clean and lockers are free. Cafe not open at weekends. Closes earlier at weekends, so best to double check the hours on the website.
Positive experience: Bit of a nightmare with this one. Couldn't find opening times for the pool on the internet and turned up with kids only to find that there wasn't a family swim session on. Came back a few days later to find that their rules limit one child (under 8) to one parent in the pool (which I hadn't been told the day we couldn't swim). When we finally got in the pool was nice enough (bit tired looking) but the kids enjoyed it and the changing facilities look new and we're very clean. Staff all friendly but a bit of information online would have been really useful.
Positive experience: Great place for a family swim. The shute's are great fun. Gets rather busy and crowded though
Positive experience: Nice facilities but the slides and lazy river are open so infrequently that you really just get one shot at each of those during your 75 minute stay.
Positive experience: Good pool with plenty for the kids. Three flumes (largest one was out of order), waves, rapids, toddler pool etc Changing and lockers all good. £23 for adult and three kids so not so bad. They run a band system but seems to be only during very busy times. Worth a visit.
Fantastic experience: Wo derful experience, went with my 3 grandchildren 10,9, and 7. They didn't use the slides, but they looked great. They loved the wave machine, the whirl pool, and the hot tub. Excellent changing facilities and lockers.
Positive experience: Great pool but queues moved quite slowly on this occasion. People kept getting stuck on ring ride one
Fantastic experience: Amazing fun with the kids, rapid river was a favourite for my 3 year old, my 10 year old LOVED the slides, everything was clean and tidy also
Fantastic experience: We have only used the leisure pool here. It's a brilliant temperature with lots of different features such as wave pool and big flumes. On our last visit, there was an alarm and the lifeguards got everyone out of the pool quickly until they could fix whatever it was. I felt confident in the staff and that they take safety seriously. They're quick to stop any dangerous behaviour. Changing facilities are very good with ample family rooms and lockers that you don't need a key or money for. You enter a code of your choosing to lock and then unlock. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Facilities are clean and fun. My kids love coming here!
Fantastic experience: Love going there for spa day like using jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Though quite pricey for someone who is on benefits. Please lower the price for this
Fantastic experience: We were very surprised by the great price for entry! £17 for two adults, an eight-year-old and a two-year-old, this included access to flumes, tide pool, rapids circuit, kids pool with slides and water gun, and a jacuzzi. For comparison, we paid more than that at another swimming pool for only one hour in a small baby pool, no slides or anything. Lots of changing rooms, hot showers, and you don't need a pound coin for the lockers as you choose your own unique passcode. The family changing rooms are spacious, the private showers offer well, privacy! And there are other showers out in the open for a quick in and out. There's a small café on the way out which has snacks, sandwiches, and drinks and some seating. There are other facilities at this leisure centre separate to the swimming pool, we didn't visit those but the pool was enough to let me leave this review. The attendant at the desk was so cheerful and welcoming, which was so nice.
Fantastic experience: Great family day out! Something for everyone from the baby pool to the lazy river to the flumes! Great facilities and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!
Positive experience: Clean and friendly staff but expensive and to many people in leisure pool, so your always bumping into someone
Negative experience: It's fine for what it is, but massively over priced. It used to be great when everything was open, but now the rapids, the flumes & waves are only open 1 at a time so everyone is headed in to the same area all at the same time and the outdoor is shut permanently so it's too cramped. Updated: Signed up for family membership, paid £17.70 today and input details for the £50 charge due in a week. Went to sign in to book visit. Account not recognised. Contacted help, told it wouldn't be active until I'd set up my direct debit. Pointed out I set that up at the time of registering. No response. I waited a number of hours before I had to just request they cancel it and refund me. Now they appear to have lost all my bank details. This is the 3rd incident of them losing my personal details in a year.
Fantastic experience: We visited today from Aberdeen as we have no leisure pool anymore. Inverness pool clean, staff friendly value for money. We will be back
Positive experience: It’s a nice place to be with family if you want to enjoy the family pool I think needs a bit of maintenance some new tiles and fixing the pipes and some cleaning issues nice gym sometimes they are short staff so they close early and they put weird schedules in the swimming pool mostly after that is nice place
Positive experience: Kids had fun but the pool was quite busy. Has a separate pool away from the children's pool. Also has 3 flumes, wave machine and rapids
Positive experience: Disappointed in the opening hours of the leisure pool. Hopefully this improves over the summer holidays. I've been on different days, different times and nothing other than the wave machine is on. The outdoor pool is a disgrace...basically being left to crumble and decay. Its such a shame to have all those amenities and not use them to their potential especially during peak tourist season.
Fantastic experience: Love having a wee dip in and out the pool and go to have a sauna and spa with Steve. The price extra on highlife is a bit much considering its all included in many other highlife pools
Fantastic experience: Exceptionally helpful staff. I visited only to enquire about the use of a shower prior to a friends funeral. I travelled up from England and was in dire need of a clean prior to dressing for the ceremony and the staff here not only helped me with private shower use but also were very helpful, friendly and welcoming in supporting me finding the facilities where they could have just left me to it. Special thanks to Malaku for her assistance too. Made what was a stressful and emotional morning a bit easier, so thanks to the team.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym upstairs and a very good pool. Brilliant place to have in the highlands. Wish it opened a little earlier but overall a brilliant place to train at or swim at.
Fantastic experience: I enjoy taking my grandson here for swimming lessons. Staff are friendly and facilities are very clean.
Negative experience: If you’re just passing through town, make sure you show up at a time where they are hosting an “induction” to the gym.. otherwise you can’t use the facilities.
Fantastic experience: Cool place. We didn't use all the facilities but looked clean and plenty of fun to be had with the family .
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre had issues in the past, now they are all on the ball down to instantly attending even if it's a wee scratch to the use of a camera it's clean friendly & has everything need for healthy lifestyle
Positive experience: We often go here for the family swim in the fun pool and flumes. My kids love it.
Positive experience: Went with my kids to see Jurassic Live, was very busy but everything was fine. Place was clean and staff very helpful.
Positive experience: Was smaller in size than I thought it would be but very organised & supervised. Staff were friendly & informative.
Fantastic experience: Great offer of a Private Shower for £2.50 Prefer outdoor swims myself but this center is really good
Positive experience: It's OK for a public pool but it's tiny and the water is cold! Good location and friendly staff just don't expect a center parcs level pool here
Negative experience: Really pretty poor. Get that it is busy during holiday period and time bands are given out. Eventually got in at 11.07 am (time on receipt) announcement asking the " red bands" to leave the pool issued before midday! Also get staffing challenges but my lad got one go on one slide during the time allocation that the flumes were open due to the queues (open intermittently with staff swopping between the water rapids and the slides). The rapids are hardly rapid - my 6 year old asked me if they were broken! To top it all off pricing is far too steep - 100% more than venues in Renfrewshire with similar facilities. £9 for an adult swim and £5 for kids just too expensive!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic swimming pool we always have lots of fun and the staff are always friendly and helpful
Positive experience: If you call and leave a voicemail enquiry and ask them to call you back, do not hold your breath. The waves were the only 'feature' on the day we visited (Thursday 8th March) and it was barely on any time at all during each cycle. It feels a bit of a swizz to be charged the same for significantly fewer features - no slides, no river rapid, no outdoor pool... The changing area is good and it's nice that you don't need a coin for the lockers - personal pin number - although make very sure that it is actually locked before heading to the pool.
Negative experience: I went to the leisure centre for the spa portion. I travelled from afar to try a few hours of relax. The staff in reception were lovely. When I got to the spa area I was met by a staff member who tutted me for going the wrong way. I got into the changing room and it was quite smelly. I went to the sauna and it smelled even worse. I thought at the time I went, it would be less busy. It was full of people. It was difficult to get a space in either the steam room or sauna. The jacuzzi was full so no chance there. To pay for the area, it wasn't worth the trip for me. No clear information on where to get a proper, non unisex, shower after. Overall, not my idea of a relaxing experience.
Fantastic experience: Great customer service from Lisa, I left my coat and watch while we were away on holiday. They had it handed in and have offered to post it all back to me! 5 star customer service, thank you.
Positive experience: We went to the leaisure pool today expecting flumes and waves for children when we got there and went in my son shyly asked a lady and her grandson, she explained only later in the day. This should be advertised very clearly which it isn't, we are on holiday and paid for very little swimming as it's quite a shallow pool so nothing for 8+ to do quite disappointing. It is clean which is a plus!
Positive experience: The place provides a superb pool and other services to Inverness. Clearly understaffed so full opening of facilities including Cafe Aqua, not possible. Longer queues specially at weekends. There's need for another center like this for the city.
Positive experience: Constant staffing issues so full pool/slides etc are rarely open. Good facilities though.
Fantastic experience: Great place but very busy at the weekends , great to see so many kids using the facilities.
Positive experience: The queue to enter the building was massive which resulted in our 45-minute wait with an infant to buy our tickets; none of the staff members informed what was going on. The restrictions regarding taking photos were bizarre - no other pool users were around and would not be in the photo. Otherwise, everything ok.
Negative experience: Long Q's to get in for the leisure pool, was way too busy, pool was cold, took ages for the flumes or lazy river to open and when they did the ride with the inflatables is still off limits, been ages now. Couldn't be arsed getting kicked or bumped into anymore so left early. Tried to have a shower but ave been soaked more in a water gun fight with the wee one, they were as warm as cup of tea that's been sitting on a worktop for 5 hours. Changing rooms were pretty dirty too, popped into a few looking for a clean 1 so they haven't seen much action from a mop. Pretty disappointing to see the demise of a once very good local attraction.
Fantastic experience: Amazing Hotel, best experience ever!!!
Fantastic experience: What a great venue for a gig. Acoustically it's the bomb. And you only have to share your band with a few hundred rather than the thousands larger venues hold. Pop-up bar and wc's were outside. The bar didn't stock much (no spiced rum ) but did enjoy the very very cold cans of strongbow fruits.
Fantastic experience: Christmas fayre. Well organised, warm, friendly and wide ranging. Parking not so hot but almost adequate.
Fantastic experience: Outstanding gym facility, excellent pool, can't go wrong. Food is expensive and not worth the bother in my opinion but, it seems popular.
