Positive experience: James and Sam are fantastic. Truly an asset to the business. I’ve been served by them a handful of times and while they seem snowed under ex, they make me feel like they have anything but the most time for me.

Fantastic experience: It’s unbeatable with 24*7 access.

Fantastic experience: I stay here for work fairly often and I like to go for a swim. There are two lanes for that and that is very often enough. Love to be able to exercise while being away for business.

Negative experience: Village Gym offers many strong points but also has some significant concerns. The fitness area is well-equipped with modern machines and plenty of treadmills, making it a solid choice for general workout needs. The facility has consistently maintained its exercise equipment over the four years I've been a regular member. However, the pool and wellness area fall notably short regarding hygiene standards. Despite multiple conversations with staff members and the manager Guy, persistent issues remain unaddressed. The main concern is the lack of enforcement of basic pool hygiene rules. Members frequently move between gym, pool, sauna, and jacuzzi without showering, which is unsanitary and goes against standard pool safety protocols. This practice of entering the pool or jacuzzi while sweaty from workouts or sauna use is particularly problematic and compromises the cleanliness of these facilities. While the gym portion merits 4-5 stars, the pool and wellness area's hygiene issues significantly impact the overall experience, bringing the rating down considerably. Until these concerns are properly addressed, potential members should be aware of these limitations in the aquatic facilities.

Fantastic experience: What an outstanding team at Village Gym, Bristol. I recently started attending this gym with friends only to find out that the customer service was phenomenal. A special shout out to Elena and Dina as not only did they contribute outstanding customer service to all members, but they went above and beyond to assist me with making sure my membership was fulfilled. Highly recommend this gym as it has outstanding facilities and all the latest equipment. #MemberForLifeSpace.

Negative experience: I bought a membership back in Feb this year, when I purchased the membership I told the lady to cancel it as there is a 3 month notice period, I was then charged for the next 8 months after making multiple attempts to cancel the membership. They made it very difficult over the phone. I had no option but to ring the bank and cancel the direct debit, I have been receiving threatening emails about debt recovery which I don’t appreciate, pathetic staff.

Negative experience: Please clean the Sauna! Been a member for 6-Months the sauna has had a layer of sweat grime on the wooden bench backs for the entirety of this time meaning is has never been deep cleaned. Really gross! The gym is 5 star. Great equipment etc but the toilets and general hygiene is low for the cost.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, good facilities need more leg and chest equipment, Dena, Dylan, Rosie and Laura are all amazing. Such great staff, too many to name…

Negative experience: Disappointed with Village Gym Bristol. Despite informing staff of my severe asthma, accommodations weren’t respected. A staff members repeatedly confronted me and even sprayed aerosol on me, putting my health at risk. I would like to clarify that the filming occurred at the reception area only after one of your staff members sprayed aerosol on me and then called me "stupid." My decision to film was in response to this unprofessional behaviour and the disregard shown for my health, which I had informed your team about in advance. Additionally, the fact that you chose to respond publicly to this review rather than addressing my previous email reflects a further lack of professionalism and respect for your customers. This situation could have been handled with a more considerate, direct approach, acknowledging my concerns privately and working towards a meaningful resolution.

Positive experience: I've been a member at Village Gym for a few months, and while there are some great aspects, I’ve had a few frustrations. First, the positives: the equipment is modern and very user-friendly, especially with the hand band that tracks reps—such a convenient feature! The decor is sleek, and the ambiance is elevated by the great background music, which makes workouts more enjoyable. However, the changing rooms could use improvement. The toilets and shower facilities are in the same area, which doesn’t feel very hygienic. Plus, they rarely answer the phone, so getting help when needed can be challenging. One of the biggest disappointments has been the membership charges. I initially signed up with a 50% discount that was supposed to last for two months. But after just one month, I was unexpectedly charged the full £74 for Gold membership. They didn’t give any reminder that the discount was ending, so I couldn’t switch to the corporate membership at £53 as planned. I ended up paying more instead of saving as I had expected. Overall, Village Gym has potential with its equipment and atmosphere, but issues with hygiene, communication, and transparency in billing are a drawback.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym… friendly helpful staff.. huge range of classes from 6:20am till 8:30pm… all the instructors I’ve found to be good and they try to cover classes when on holiday… club well managed and kept clean… the club also puts on complimentary or subsidised events for members… highly recommend the Village Gym Bristol… also good value !

Negative experience: Nice equipment however this gym is way over subscribed don’t even think about wanting to use anything on a Saturday/Sunday morning or any week night from 4-8 . Really bad also you have to give 3 months when you choose to leave even though you can’t even use the gym because there’s way too many people can’t wait to join a new gym!

From the cleanliness to the top-notch equipment, everything is designed to help you achieve your fitness goals. What really stands out, though, is the exceptional management. Guy, the gym manager, creates an incredibly welcoming and positive atmosphere. He’s always there to offer support, guidance, or just a friendly chat, making every visit a great experience. You can tell he genuinely cares about the members and the gym and pool community. If you’re looking for a gym, pool and wellness area that not only has everything you need but also makes you feel right at home, this is the one. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Been with village for ages been trying to cancel due to personal issues they don’t pick up the phone and I had no way to get to them due to ill health they have now cancelled my contact and sent 1 month of the payments to a debt collection company even though I tried to cancel for 4 months and they did not respond via phone or email to add to that they’ve sold so many memberships there was never a good time to go to the gym anyways in all honesty I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone the staff are unhelpful and constantly unavailable because they’re too busy chatting to each other left about 30 voicemails asking for a call back or a manager and got a rude young girl who clearly didn’t want to be there honestly avoid at all cost they haven’t even told me they cancelled the membership and sold a debt I didn’t owe to a debt company absolute joke of a company if I could vote no stats that’s what it would be

Negative experience: I was sold a "Student Monthly Flexible" membership but found the gym facilities to be mediocre (always busy, small, stuffy, dirty) so I wanted to cancel my membership, which is a seemingly impossible task to do in itself. Finally, when you manage to request cancellation online, they tell you it's a 3-month notice period to cancel on a apparently "Student Monthly Flexible" membership!! I even paid the next month and ended up cancelling my DD after because why the heck am I required to pay for services that I am not using but low and behold, you then start getting threatening blackmail emails/letters from Debt collectors. STAY AWAY

Negative experience: I’m feeling fairly let down by Village Gym. I’ve been a member for around 3 years, always paying my fees on time. However, around Xmas and due to the cost of living crisis I decided I was going to have to cancel my membership. Unfortunately this was easier said than done. I tried ringing initially but generally got no answer. Eventually some one picked up and informed me that I could not cancel over the phone, I had to cancel online, however the website did not work; I tried multiple browsers to no avail. I felt trapped. After months of frustration, I ended up cancelling my direct debit as I was not prepared to pay for a service that I had tried to cancel multiple times but was prevented from doing so through no fault of my own. I then began to receive threatening emails, including threats of “debt collection” agencies… for a £41 debt. This feels incredibly overkill and to be honest, damn right immoral in the current economic climate. I eventually managed to pay the £41 but now have more emails saying exactly the same thing. Unfortunately I simply cannot recommend village gym, the sign up process is very straightforward but cancelling a membership is near impossible - as a side note, a 90 day notice period seems very excessive and is not explained at sign up (and I know I’m going to get a response from them saying “oh but we tell you in an email we send you after you signed up” - but when you consider the amount of small print you get sent, this is very easily missed) Overall I’m not impressed, I feel cheated and exploited by a company that will go to any means to take your money - this being especially immoral in the current economic climate. AVOID!

Negative experience: Been going here a few months now and the gym staff can't seem to do little enough for you. Poor attitude and very unwelcoming. Can't even seem to say good morning when you walk in through the turnstile? Just poor, really.

Fantastic experience: Noce equipment, usually a lot of machines/ free weights are free. You can book a class via app, which is very convenient. I use off peak hours subscription and it has very good pice-quality rate :)

Fantastic experience: Friendly, knowledgeable, staff who care for you as a person not just as a member. The facilities are always sparkling clean. Nothing is too much trouble for any staff member and they will always stop and talk to you. I feel valued and that they are genuinely interested in what I do and how I do it. I cannot praise the team enough.

Negative experience: Multiple attempts to cancel membership ignored by staff and continuing to charge.

Fantastic experience: Simply the best gym I’ve been part of, so glad I joined when they opened their doors in Bristol. Friendly members and staff, everywhere is kept clean, all equipment and the building is well maintained. Fab selection of gym equipment and so many classes to choose from. Always feel welcome and staff are very helpful.

Fantastic experience: I've been visiting the Village gym for a while and I must say that I absolutely love the equipment that is provided as well as the spa facilities. I do have to shout out Dina for always helping me out on the equipment when needed. She is so kind and willing to help to assist any of your goals, whether its fitness or dietary. She makes me feel so confident in the gym, with her non-stop motivational post on her socials to checking in with me to see when I'll be coming back in and how I'm getting on. The team are also awesome, particularly Becky Palmer who runs an amazing group exercise timetable with brilliant instructors and pts. There is a great community of memebers as well and is a really welcoming gym to go in to!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Village Gym on-and-off for the last couple of years. I've been going quite regularly over the last year and I am very impressed with the equipment , classes and service from employees. In particular, I have been very accustomed to greeting Dina at the entrance of the gym. She is always very kind and really helpful. Great swimming pool, good sized well maintained jacuzzi/spa pool and a couple of good sized saunas. Fantastic experience: Iv been a member of the Village gym for approximately 6 months now and i absolutely love it! The facilities are modern and stylish while most importantly being clean and tidy. The gym and pool have a lovely atmosphere and is a welcoming environment. I had a personalised orientation to the gym when joining by Dylan where I learned how to use all the equipment and got free advise on how to hit certain goals. I am a frequent attender of the multiple variety’s of HITT classes with Rosie who has been an amazing support and instructor- the small class sizes means she has time to support me with form/ push me futher and cheer me on with the last few reps. The team at the Village Gym are so supportive and welcoming- it’s made me fall back in love with fitness and given me a great work life balance.

Fantastic experience: Been a member of the gym since it opened it has everything , gym, swim, sauna, steam room. I have PTs with the lovely Rosie who is amazing, her fitness classes are also top tier.

Fantastic experience: The burn classes and hit step are perfect for me and fit around my lunch at work! Rosie’s classes in particular are my fav as there is always something different to do and they aren’t repetitive! And more importantly always start and end on time!

Fantastic experience: Just an update on my gym experiences. I’m a frequent user of the weights and I attend many of the classes. I couldn’t wish for more. Plenty of free weights and machines for choice. The staff always work hard to provide classes that are always well organised, enjoyable and entertaining. In particular I must mention Dylan, Isaac, Becky and Rosie. Keep doing what you’re doing. 6 stars.

Fantastic experience: I regularly attend the Village Hotel Gym Bristol. I found the equipment at the gym, to be very well maintained, the repositioning of the equipment, and the introduction of new machines to be welcoming. In addition, the yoga and palate classes have excellent instructors. The jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms are clean and nice. I hope the gym will continue to keep up this excellent standard. In general I found that all staff to be very courteous and polite.. Special thanks to Rosie who have been instrumental in providing me with the right exercises for my injured knee. I am please to say that it has improved tremendously.

When I first started Rosie Bull was a massive help within my fitness journey, she has always been there to help and check in on me offered me PT sessions! And always hyping up my journey! Fantastic experience: By far the best gym in the southwest (at good price too) - when it comes down to a gym with the whole package - this is the one. The gym is small, and doesn’t have an enough equipment when it comes to peak hours but it does the job. The quality of equipment is good and they have 3 extra rooms attached to the main gym that have classes that take place. There is always a staff member available on site if you have any questions - there’s free wifi and massage equipment that you can can use The locker system is great a lot of room to change and the showers are also good too The best part is when you go downstairs to the spa - swimming pool (1.2 meters all round), a hot tub , steam room and sauna. there are hooks to hang you towels - and beds to put you belonging on (no phones aloud) The steam room is only good when it’s actually on, they have a set timer. So just know if there’s no steam - just wait a little until it turns back on There’s subscription options on their website - mainly depends on what you like to do - on average you’re going to pay up to £60 a month Staff are always helpful - shout out to Ashley, top lad and always has a good conversation. For towels they charge you more on your subscription (extra £10) or you pay £2 every time you want one.

Negative experience: Left this gym as customer service was terrible and the pool is too small to burn calories in. Joined active nation down the road for £600 for 15 years and customer service is so much better.

Positive experience: The gym is nice but usually crowded. The pool and sauna are useful, but the hygiene and smell are not very good, but I'm not from the UK, so maybe that's standard here. Overall it is nice

Positive experience: Well equipped gym with great variety of machines, weights etc. Changing rooms, pool sauna etc always very clean. Hairdryers and straighteners in the female changing rooms are very handy. Staff always friendly & helpful. Starbucks and pub underneath the gym is convenient.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time popping into the Village bar and it definitely won’t be the last! I was served by Ed who was very helpful and continued to check on us throughout the night.

Negative experience: This is what 30 quids worth of steak and fries looks like at the Village Hotel Grill. I am absolutely disgusted that the chef, the server and everyone else involved with bringing this to my table thought that this would be acceptable. Furthermore I had to wait over 35 minutes for this to be brought to my table. I'm still waiting for a decent portion of chips to arrive. If you want a decent meal for 30 quid, I'd suggest you go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant good value for money staff are always friendly nice and clean

Positive experience: Come to the gym weekly and use the facilities offered such as the sauna, pool and steam room.Good size gym with a decent variety of gym equipment however there seems to be a lack of back machines. I would suggest adding an extra lat pull down machine as it can often get busy meaning you have to wait as there’s only one machine and often a queue. Other than the lack of gym equipment I would recommend the gym and all staff are friendly and happy to help.

Negative experience: Visited here recently. Gym was a good size but again overstocked with cardio machines and not enough cable machines & benches. The men’s changing rooms & showers were really dirty. The ducts above were covered in thick dust which kept falling onto you below. The pool was okay, but the sauna had not been cleaned in a long time. Lots of people vaping in the changing room & foul language. Such a shame for a relatively new gym.

Negative experience: As a gym, it is not worth the money, gym is smaller than you’d expect, machines varied but only 1 hack squat etc, not enough benches, not enough squat racks, dumbbells. You’re pretty much waiting for everything. Was also told to get out the jacuzzi and it was closed off.

Positive experience: Nice gym, which also has swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. I used it while staying at the hotel. Only loses a star because it can get very crowded and lots of the lockers don't work.

Negative experience: Been a member of the gym for 2.5 years in Bristol and decided to cancel the membership after being treated unfairly by the receptionist. I’ve been trying to book into a Pilates / Yoga class for 2 weeks and I’m always on the waiting list. There are too many people and too few classes available. Even if I try to book one week in advance, I end up in the waiting list. Today I went to the gym to try to get into the class if anyone who booked doesn’t show up. The receptionist didn’t even allow me to go and check availability with the teacher. She was rude and didn’t allow me in the gym because I was on the waiting but didn’t receive the confirmation email. I’ve seen so many times before members just showing up in the class without booking if there is enough space. The rule should be the same for everyone. The customer service and overall gym experience definitely degraded over the past few months. It’s too crowded and not worth £50 per month!

Fantastic experience: I'm not a customer of the gym, but I got a wrong bus and stuck in the area after my phone died. This was on friday 9th Feb at 4:00am and the guy on reception was really helpful. He called a taxi and offered a phone charger. Really great guy

Positive experience: I've been a member since August 2022, but the gym became overly crowded at the beginning of 2023 and the situation is worsening. There's insufficient space for training between 5 - 8, and despite the full capacity, new members keep joining. There's an excess of cardio machines when the majority focus on weight training. It would be appreciated if you could remove some cardio machines, expand the weightlifting area, and address the cramped changing room and dirty showers for improved health and safety. Paying £110 monthly for myself and my partner, I expect a better experience.

Fantastic experience: Great staff and great facilities, especially at the prices on offer compared to other health spas/hotels. The food discount for being a health spa member is on point as well. I've even referred friends and family, who all enjoy it!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful Gym and lovely staff. :)

Negative experience: I like the gym. However I have referred 3 people to the gym now and still await my referral money from a referral dated July 2023. I have repeatedly asked for my referral bonus both via email and to the desk which they have promised they will send but still have not.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym. I joined up a week ago and my personal trainer is Ashley Nixon. Brilliant service and friendly atmosphere. Best gym ever been to.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, very modern and clean with a great pool/spa area. Coworking space also excellent. Staff all amazing, especially Steve in the coworking space and Amy in the gym - couldn’t be more helpful!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities and lovely staff. The price isn't the lowest but the; pool, sauna, steam room and first class gym are worth it. I have spent a little time with Ashley who is one of the PT's. He is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very easy to get along with. I can't fault anything they offer here!
