Fantastic experience: My granddaughter, Amelia, (aged 2 and half) absolutely loves the Storytime sessions on Friday mornings. We have been for several weeks now. She clearly enjoys the sessions and feels very confident and comfortable there. A special shout out to to Becky and Rachel (and Mel today). They are wonderful with Amelia. They are a brilliant asset for the David Lloyd team. Thanks to all three.

Fantastic experience: Great place, good for families with a good variety of classes for kids while the adults are in the gym. My daughter loves the crèche, the girls who work in there are great with her and she always has fun. Occasionally let down with maintenance issues and last minute cancellations of kids classes but that’s very few and far between.

Positive experience: Had a very positive experience with the food , facilities very clean and staff was very welcoming apart from one very rude staff member Jennine not a professional staff member at all very inappropriate towards members / staff across the gym. However apart from that I would highly recommend joining or trying out someone’s guest pass!

Negative experience: Awful experience with a member of reception staff who was very dismissive and rude. Her appearance was not fitting for someone working in such a established high end club. When dealing with my issue she made no apologies for my situation and blamed the companies website for it's lack of clarity. Needless to say this experience as left me wondering to become a member. However, I must congratulate the other member of staff who I think was actually less experience but she was smartly dressed polite and helpful.
Positive experience: Charlotte from DL Kids makes my time at the club so fun. I love it when she is there and Katie too. They are my favourites I love when they’re there.

Negative experience: I have been trying to cancel my membership for 6 weeks now. Went through the app as instructed. Went in person to the gym to chase the cancellation. It was then that, with the supervision of the staff behind the desk, I attempted to email twice, and further attempted to use the app multiple times. The staff couldn't see anything coming through and said I had done everything correctly. I was told to wait. I then cancelled the direct debit and 3 days later I received an email about my direct debit and NOT my numerous attempts at cancelling. After calling the gym I was threatened with debt collectors Don't bother. It's a scam. Plenty of people are available to join you to the gym but NOBODY can cancel you. The best they can do is direct you to an app that you've just told them DOES NOT WORK. App, email, over the phone or in person. Nobody can do anything for you because clearly they're just trying to get as much money as possible off you. Even had the staff I was talking to admit this happens to many other people The facilities aren't even worth willingly falling victim to this SCAM. You'd be better off burning the approximate £1,000 you'd spend over the course of your 12 month contract for the thrill

Fantastic experience: What a lovely afternoon at David Lloyd brierley Hill today! Firstly we were made to feel so welcome by Gwilliam he really made our experience a very enjoyable one and it made a refreshing change of being around such a positive guy who was very genuine with not only me and my son but also with every customer who were coming and going and he gave off a great vibe to everyone as you could tell the members were arriving and leaving with smiles on their faces! I have made use of the classes available and have enjoyed Blaze in particular. Bobbie has provided me with a great overview of the gym and equipment and has tailored the sessions to my needs which has been really helpful. Overall the atmosphere is very friendly and i would highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: We had a wedding reception here on 18/10/24 and the room was absolutely stunning, the DJ set-up was amazing to see, he did a fantastic job for wedding couple, well spoken, told us exactly what was planned, music was brilliant, lighting spectacular to see. The room very spacious, all the staff very friendly & cheerful, and kept room tidy at all times.

Fantastic experience: I have to agree with a previous post the gym is too hot, have they turned off the air conditioning? However I'm impressed with staff here, they are working really hard to make it work. I've noticed changes for the better within the building I know it's difficult maintaining this property but things are getting fixed quickly and the grounds look neat and tidy so credit to the staff. I'm glad I continued with my membership and look forward to using the facilities in the future.

They are maintained to a high standard, there was plenty of choice of activities, and the tour was very informative. The app allows you to book classes and organise your experience on your mobile, and i was given assistance to set this up. Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here and would totally recommend the spa and outdoor pool area. Negative experience: I had an absolutely horrendous experience with a receptionist named Kiran or Ciran—whatever her name was. She was shockingly rude and unbelievably snobby. The way she spoke to me made it clear that she was looking down on me, and I wasn't the only one who felt this way. After talking to other people at the spa, I found out that they, too, had previous run-ins with her. I was absolutely fuming after the way she treated me. Her utter rudeness completely ruined my day at the spa. It’s disgraceful that someone like her is allowed to work in a place that’s supposed to be about relaxation and customer service.
Positive experience: If you're not too bothered about a swimming pool and just want a gym then I'd recommend JD's Oldbury for 20 pounds a month. The gym area is still like a sauna, as the review said from Simon a week ago, and has been for at least a couple of weeks now.

Positive experience: Really enjoyed it there however, the fuss of trying to download the app, going through the process which took a while and then finding out that your phone is either too old or incompatible while holding up a queue is really off putting. The solution was the girl behind the welcome desk sorting out an alternative which took about twenty seconds.♂️

Fantastic experience: Went yesterday with my wife and 2 young children, around 10:30am and we enjoyed a lovely swim in the heated outdoor pool while the sun was still in the sky! The current work that is being done on the entrance looks really great!!! The staff are always welcoming and monty and the sales team always check in to see how where doing if we see them, and the club is great!! If your looking for somewhere to get active especially with your children there simply is no better place!!

Negative experience: Poor poor poor. Numerous complaints and they don't even get acknowledged, let alone rectified. Virtually every visit there is an issue. I’m not taking small issues, things like no showers, no hot water, cold pools, no towels. There is often no lifeguard available for the outdoor pool, at times when children should be able to swim. Blue badge parking spaces are frequently monopolised by non blue badge holders. The club even seems to struggle to have clocks that work. Really not the standard i expected from a well known club. DISAPPOINTING

Negative experience: Gym floor is like a sauna and has been in the summer for a few years now. Complained numerous times but no one is interested. How do they expect you to work out in these hot conditions?

Negative experience: As a disabled ex-member I found I was constantly fighting to get a blue badge parking space as people without blue badges felt the need to park in them constantly. Complaint after complaint the club didn't seem to do much when the spaces were blatantly being abused. Worst case cars with no blue badges got a flyer that said please don't park here but it did nothing really. Staff were always friendly and tried to help though but the constantly frustration really took the edge off the premium club experience, the amount of disabled parking and how close it was to the entrance was a real selling point for me joining. Sadly I had an injury so exited my membership to rest for a few months but I'm back on it now with another gym that's a quarter of the price with no fighting over parking - if you do have a disability and are considering David Lloyd for the gym side of things, I personally wouldn't recommend it. The pool was a good selling point but it wasn't the warmest but on a plus note the disabled changing/shower facilities were good.

Fantastic experience: Today David Lloyd kids hosted a party for our 5 year old. Katie and Maddie (DL kids team) hosted this party who was picked by my daughter, they took care of everything with such efficiency and put so much energy into making it a great time for all the kids. So impressed with them and made it so easy for the adults to be able to enjoy the time too. All the kids had fun and the girls even had a few extra fans by the end of the event.

Positive experience: Enjoyed a special birthday treat, treatments the spa, use of the pools, hot tub and sauna and a lovely lunch in the cafe. Highly recommend. I'm a professional massage therapist myself and really rate the excellent treatment at the spa. Felt really relaxed afterwards. Great facilities all round

I always love walking through the doors Would deduct a star for the poor water pressure in the showers, but the wonderful community of staff, instructors and other members make up for it. Negative experience: This place gets worse. The water fountain in the main gym is still out of action 6 weeks on and counting. The showers are at full capacity and still poor flow but it's all about the environment. Anyone would think that with the impending purchase of group that things aren't getting fixed. The air-conditioning in the bottom part of the gym is still not working both yesterday evening and this morning 21st June 2024 it's so hot down by the treadmills overlooking the pool ,oh and you can't get any daylight now as the roller shutters are still closed from a firedrill yesterday and those will be broken I bet. Honestly if it wasn't for the indoor pool we'd go elsewhere. This is unacceptable for the membership fee little thongs like water fountains and aircon should be a priority. Spend the time fixing the little things not trying to make smart replies to social posts.

Positive experience: A lovely club. Friendly staff, online booking available, indoor and outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis, squash, badminton, jacuzzis, sauna, steam room, gym and lots of classes. Negatives: get rid of the joining fee and get some consistency in steam room temperature.

Negative experience: Shockingly bad. Steam room not working again/ No hot water/ No toilet facilities for Gents/ No showers expect for temporary ones (which only a child can fit in)/ the pool now has tinted windows so you cant see outside. The gym is still only partly painted/weights thrown all over/ clips missing from cable machine/ The flooring is coming away from the floor. All of this for benefit of a price increase a few months back. I very rarely put reviews but this place is a shambles at the moment & it can only really be put down to the management.

Negative experience: £84 a month and the place is falling apart. Returned from a years break, there’s buckets everywhere as the ceiling is falling in. The indoor pool is always freezing. Today, one urinal on offer but full to the brim of urine. I’m sorry but you can’t expect to have a premium brand status but offer this sub service. This is testament to the lack of investment the company has made in the building and it’s now finally showing. I sincerely hope new toilets are on the cards when you refurbish the showers?

Negative experience: Been a member for 12 years, gone right down hill, dirty changing rooms that stink hardly changed the interior in all that time and The foods a joke and takes about 45 minutes. Struggle to get use of equipment when its busy. Not to mention the facilities are a disgrace and are rarely working, shocking compared to other DL clubs.i prefer to drive 40 minutes to bromsgrove DL for a nice experience. Beyond a joke.

Negative experience: Honestly the place is falling apart, nothing works, staff are rude and the stories I could share from the past two years membership are wild. Agree with reviews below, manager is rude, unhelpful, unapproachable and dismissive of any negative feedback. Recently escalated a complaint to her and then her area manager after we had been working there and overheard a David Lloyd member of staff taking customer service calls and then coming off the phone to David Lloyd customers making SEVERAL negative personal remarks, and joking about how much we pay. Shocking really considering the heating hasn’t worked for ever, the ladies changing room ceiling fell down, outside cold shower doesn’t work, sauna hasn’t been to temp on more than one occasion amongst a list of other issues. We haven’t been in months and they still make us pay the membership fees rather than letting us terminate our contract and walk - JOKE! They know they are making us pay for a service we aren’t using, and haven’t for WEEKS but they don’t care. Zero customer service or care. Honestly, don’t join, you’ll be disappointed - you’ll pay a premium membership fee for sub-par services and dated facilities.

Fantastic experience: I came on a tour as I was interested in starting DL due to friend recommendations. A employee called Cameron gave me the tour and really sold me on it. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions while ticking boxes i didn’t even know I wanted. I signed up that same day. Would definitely recommend people to ask for him if they have any questions!
