Fantastic experience: Member for 4+ years, never had a single issue with anything. The gym is very well equipped, maintained and frequently new bits are being added as well as the premises being refurbished annually. Facilities are clean, there is plenty of storage for your personal belongings while you workout. The staff are really polite, knowledgeable and respectful. The gym is close to public transport and offers on-site parking.

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking place , ripping people off promise you the world then stitch you up . I wouldn’t recommend them at all , sign for one month trial with the condition to decide if i like it and sign up for longer , straight away 280£ gone out of my account and got me Into contract for 120£ a month . Tried resolving The issue with them but neither of the people i spoke to from the head office speak good english nor willing to help . AVOID them as they are cowboys

Negative experience: very very very dissatisfied with the experience with you. I showed up at the Anytime Fitness Worthing office, to try it for 1 month as a trial, if I felt comfortable there. I explained to the lady in the office that I don't want to make a contract with you, but I want to pay for 1 month only, because I want to know if I feel comfortable or not. that day he told me that this is good, but if you pay only 1 month, it will cost you double, and I accepted this, because I did not want to make a contract, without making sure that I will feel comfortable there. I continued to go to Anytime Fitness Worthing for about 1 week, and I was not feeling comfortable, the reason why I was not feeling comfortable, there was never a parking space at Anytime Fitness Worthing, or anywhere near there, the environment where I exercised was also very unsuitable and not sufficient exercise material, and many other reasons. I decided to go to another Fitness, where fortunately, I felt very good there. Anytime Fitness Worthing continues to take money from my bank account every month, even though I explained that I only want to pay for 1 month, to see how I feel there. I contacted the lady with whom I had communicated the first time, and she told me that it is a communication error, and I will talk to her manager, to return my money back, an amount of £120, which was taken from me by my allowance, after I had made the first payment for 1 month. the manager did not contact me, but I received an SMS from their office, that they will not refund me, even though the lady on the phone, I admit that they were wrong. I wish you luck to the next victims

The terms of the membership were explained to you very clearly and unfortunately chose not to accept the terms and your payments bounced, so we collected the owed arrears from your account as per in the t&c we laid out clearly to you upon joining. As explained you were on a monthly rolling agreement you can cancel anytime by simply going onto our webpage or contacting us, we tried calling you on several occasions and emailing as soon as the first payment bounced but we were given false or incorrect information. You then proceeded to be aggressive on the phone toward our female staff member demanding a refund, she was simply doing her job and relaying the correct information that was relayed to you when you joined the gym, but unfortunately, you either misunderstood the information, or forgot and didn't read the terms of your membership. The manager got back to you via email and confirmed this same stance before you again threatened to leave a bad review unless we issued a refund, it seems too much of a coincidence that we had other bad reviews on the same, so would suggest these were left by people you must know, as we have no record of these being members or must of been members years ago. Hi Sharyda, sorry to hear you feel that way, we offer a wide range of premium equipment and cap our membership to ensure we don't get overcrowded, and believe we have a very good size gym for our membership base, I can't see any record of you ever being a member but when you visited, maybe this was at a peak time, which is when we can get busier periods but it's extremely rarely, that you cannot have a good workout and we offer alternatives to most machines or the team is more than happy to show you alternatives if you can't get on a certain piece of equipment. Dear Masoud, we explained upon joining the membership agreement and you agreed to sign up as per the terms of the membership, the team are trained and always goes through the membership options, but you canceled the direct debit rather than notify the club, meaning you membership fell into arrears. Fantastic experience: Been training in anytime for about year and half now and never had any doubts. All staff are lovely will always great you as u walking in and this gym surrounded by nice people in case u need help or spot and won't even mention that's its 24/7 access. They also have lovely PT's there, training with Oli who is absolutely brilliant coach. Highly recommended xx

Negative experience: Really disappointed… I originally signed up to Worthing because my boyfriend at the time lived in the area, i signed up under the impression I could cancel if I moved back to london, the staff told me this was possible but failed to tell me I have to move further than 15 miles from another anytime.. I was not told otherwise I would not have signed up. When I emailed to cancel, the manager Owen accused me of lying.. & conveniently do not have the recordings of me signing up to prove my case, no help or alternative for me at all I just have to carrying on paying for a gym I’m not using! Just be careful with this one…as they won’t disclose all relevant information when signing up and then you’ll be accused of lying! awful

Fantastic experience: Lovely intimate gym without the intimidating atmoshphere. Staff have been so friendly and welcoming, and the equipment is always clean. Good variety of equipment too, everything I need in one room and on one floor! Perfect. The cost is not that expensive when you think you can access it any time, which is perfect for my hectic schedule. Love it.

Positive experience: I travel, through work, all over. Wherever I stop, finding my nearest anytime fitness centre is top priority. You have to train, it's that simple. So I get to experience Anytime Fitness centres across the UK, and overseas. I've found the centre at Worthing pleasantly low key, and well equipped for my needs. I have nothing negative to feedback. It's all good.

Negative experience: I wish I could give them 0 stars. I signed a 6 month contract and they have billed me for 7. I also tried cancelling 3 months in since I moved very far away and they REFUSED to terminate early even though I have no form of transport. Awful company

The direct debit was cancelled, but cancelling the direct debit doesn't cancel the membership, where the direct debit has been reactivated and overridden the previous cancellation request the membership started again, as per our conversation we have refunded you for an additional month and the membership is cancelled with immediate effect. We offer 1,3,6 and 12 months contract to suit all needs and allows you to choose a minimum period at the start of your fitness journey to align with your circumstances. The longer your commitment period, the lower the price as joining a health and fitness facility is not about the short terms fix, it should be part of a long-term health and fitness goal and hopefully your general lifestyle. Negative experience: This is the worst Gym ever. They lie to you and make you sign a long contact and pay for a door for £50. Then when you want cancel the membership, you call them, they will tell you you have to wait next month to do it, but in next month, they can charge you for more. Very bad service and horrible staff keep lying to you so you have to pay more. I have been to so many gyms, this is the only one that you can not cancel your membership via phone and they hide the cancellation button so well in their app. Be careful if you want sign up.
Hi Queenie, We have checked the name you have provided in this review and we have never had a member with that name. We offer 1-12 month contracts, so all members have a choice of what length of commitment period they are comfortable with. We dont chrage an admin or joining fee. The fee is for the security entry FOB that give you 247 access to every Anytime Fitness club in the World at no extra cost (so access to over 5000 clubs) and this is a one off fee. If you leave us and return, all you have to do is reactvate the FOB key with no extra charges. The cost of this is not £50. If your out of the comitment period, we require a 1 month notice, as with most month contracts. All of this is in our terms and conditons and explained during the joining process.
Fantastic experience: Have been to a few of these and so far this is the best equipped. The franchisee has not spared any expense on equipment, especially if you are into heavy training.

Negative experience: Gym is decent and is handy being accessible being 24 hours, However be warned the customer service via email and phone is incredibly poor, contact via email gets ignored and when the gym is contacted direct they tell you to wait until a manager is in who will reply to your email, this could mean you will get lumped with large continuous fees when trying to cancel your membership
Hello Alex, Sorry to hear about your frustrations but just to clarify you cancelled your direct debit which doesn't cancel your membership. We require this in writing or via our webpage. Communicaton was sent to you stating this via email and you have specifically noted - not to contact you by phone as you're out of the country. Once you cancelled your membership by informing us in writing, we sent you a confirmation of cancellation straight back as per the months' notice period. Unfortunetly you cancelled your direct debit, so we were not able to collect your final payment which was due, so your account fell into arrears. Until you either reinstate the direct debit or give us permission to reinstate the direct debit payment cannot take place. This along with any late payments will eventually gets passed over to debt collection unless the amount is paid. We do always provide enough opportunities to pay any oustanding amounts prior to this. We do apologies for any issues experienced reinstating your DD via the link and due to that we have arrange for the additonal late fee charge to be removed. Positive experience: The main issue with this gym is that it has about 25 to 30 free weights options, compared with about 12 rack and pin weights machines and 12 cardio machines. A lot of the free weights machines are normally rack and pin machines in most premium gyms. A lot of these free weights machines are just space fillers, but these types of machines are a lot cheaper to buy and maintain. I think to bring it up to standard of a premium gym they need to upgrade 5 or 6 of the free weights machines. It really is a pain having to remove, search for and check the free weights. They certainly need an abdominal rack and pin machine. I have been to one other AF gym and they had a good balance of free weights, cardio and rack and pin machines. Certainly in 20 + years of going to gyms, I have never seen so many of these cheap free weights machines as here. If you can combine this gym with a better equipped one as i do then it is not a bad option, but i think if I was using this gym alone i would be unhappy after a couple of months. I should say that the staff are very friendly here, which is a big plus and it is a nice modern gym environment.

Yes, we have dumbbells ranging from 1kg - 50kg, mixed variety of full body pin loaded and plate loaded equipment, as well a full range of cardio equipment. All our equipment is Life Fitness or Hammer Strength which is the most expensive and premium products avaialble on the market and I can assure you we don't have any cheap equipment; we also have a gold service maintenance contract with Life Fitness to ensure the equipment is maintained to higher level standard. We believe we offer a premium fitness product to fit all levels of fitness and design and purchase our equipment based on the needs of all of our members to ensure we offer the best possible product that caters for all fitness preference and abilities. Positive experience: Well kept & clean gym.The reason it's a 3 star for me is everytime I go in the air conditioning is always off & it really put me off today because it gets stuffy and hot in certain confined spaces such as weights areas.
Hi Zainab, Thanks for your feedback. The air con is normally on all day. We did have a couple outages in July due to the heat and the system switching off automatically to protect it from over heating. We have just had a full deep clean to fix this problem. If the air con is off just pop into the office and the team will make sure it’s either put back on or operating on full air flow.

Positive experience: Really well kept gym and friendly staff. Clients keep mostly to themselves and they offer a good range of classes and equipment. The app however is dire and loses data frequently. Without explanation of it its almost impossible to use.

Negative experience: I was working in Brighton for two weeks and phoned them to get a free trial (which I did) and the girl said is going to be 4 £ per workout after that. The next day there was another guy and he was very suprised when I told him that and he said is 8£ per workout. I didnt felt nice when I talked to him about that, it was like I have to beg or something. There was lack of communication between them which is not the end of the day but the attitude wasnt nice or welcoming at all. The gym itself is not that big and doesnt have a NORMAL bench press ( it have the racks though).

Fantastic experience: 24 hours and great equipment
Fantastic experience: Being tied in on your membership for a year isn’t great. If you’re joining, just be 100% sure you want to go regularly. That aside, being 24 hours is great, I go late at night when it’s quiet, showers are always clean, the equipment is modern, staff are nice and there is a fairly good selection of snacks in the vending machine. Free fruit on Fridays is great, lots of classes you can take too.

Fantastic experience: I started at Anytime Fitness when it opened and now go about four times a week. I go to the great classes that are on and also go nice and early in the morning, before work. It's fantastic that it is open all the time. If you wake up early and can't sleep, it's easy to pop in to the gym. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Always available to listen and help if you need something. I use the PT facility and have learnt so much about exercising and really enjoy it. My stamina and strength are a million times better since joining.
Fantastic experience: Went in to have a look and came out wanting to join. They have all the latest equipment!! Great cardio area. Amazing free weights area and they have a adult play frame that looks like great fun while you get your exercises done. To top it all of they are open 24/7!!! Staff where great and seemed very knowledgeable.
