Fantastic experience: We were greeted with a warm welcome and helpful staff. Our room was well presented, quiet and had a lovely view over the golf course. The restaurant was outstanding and the food top notch, served professionally with a smile. The spa and gym were excellent, clean and so relaxing we didn't want to leave!

Negative experience: We stayed overnight at a cost of £430 for b,b&d , use of the spa and 2 ,one hour massages . The room was ok , breakfast was fine and the massages were lovely . The spa however, was very disappointing since none of the jets were working . Despite this I was still charged for a spa experience with no reduction in price. Most disappointing of all was dinner . This was bordering on vile, for example the belly pork was presented like a lump of boiled flesh on the plate and the risotto was swimming in water with undercooked bits of carrots floating on top. I had stayed at the hotel several years ago and found it to be a lovely experience . Sadly , this was not the case .Furthermore. I feel my letter of complaint had been handled in a dismissive manner .

Positive experience: Good spa, though Jacuzzi and sauna not working so a bit of a waste of a spa day, they could of let me know so I could have rearranged.

Negative experience: If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The rooms are dirty and dated. Bathroom had pubic hairs on the floor. Mattress was very lumpy. Looked about 20 years old. Valance sheet had a line of grime around it that was brown. First impressions the reception staff are lovely. We spoke to a manager called Shawn who was unfriendly, rude and didn’t want to help resolve the situation. He stated it was “our opinions that the rooms wasn’t up to standard”. For £255 per night I think we can all agree you would expect more. Plus you could hear the loud booming music from the function rooms late at night. Avoid at all costs. Shawn refused to refund us which we are very disappointed in. If you have a booking for this hotel or spa. I would cancel it asap.

Positive experience: Had the evening escape which included use of spa facilities for 4 hours and a 2 course meal. We used the spa facilities which were great but sadly the evening was ruined by our dinner. It took over an hour for our food to be served and when it came it was cold. Then took a further 40 mins for our pudding to arrive which again was stone cold and had clearly been sat out waiting to be brought out to the table. When mentioned to the waitress it was just a simple sorry. Asked for the bill to which it was wrong as should have just had the drinks but had charged for all food. After this I wasn’t well so believe that the chicken had given me food poisoning.

Negative experience: Staff very friendly and great massage. Facility's massive let down. Outside area when we arrived jacuzzi still had lid on took a while to find someone to see if they could take it off for us to use and once thry removed it and got it going it was foaming but told we could still get in (which we didnt) as foaming isn't a clean sign. The other outside facility's were being re painted so out of use. When we finally went to see if they had added the chemicals needed it was then not working and wouldn't turn on and tried to look for someone for assistance to see what was going on and no one to be found that was a good 30minuits till we gave up. No real space to relax and have some quit time or to read. The lunch that came with the spa package was poor 2 course and choice from 3 options and only 1 of those options being meat, also dosnt even include one drink. For the price we expected a lot better we have attended much cheaper spas with much nicer food included, drinking water with fresh fruit and herbal teas all free and at your convenience.

Negative experience: When we arrived at the hotel Saturday midnigh, no one was At the Reception… we had to wait more than 20 mins to check in. Ne next morning we requested are rooms to be clean, but they only changed the towels, not the pillows or bed sheets. The lady and the gentleman in reception werent friendly and helpfull at all. They mislead us about the firework event, and false information about the Spa facilities. When we returned to our hotel on Sunday evening, few of different stuff keept asking if we stay in hotel with attitude… it didn’t feel welcoming at all. Overall the customer service was very poor.

Negative experience: It is only getting 1 star as 0 isn’t an option. Firstly, the staff were amazing and really nice and this is nothing wrong with the service itself, but entirely an issue with the facilities and packages. Booked a twilight spa, assuming this would be a relaxing getaway, but it was far from it. The main issue is the fact that the spa is not actually segregated from the rest of the facilities, and it’s a classic case of a hotel trying to offer every service under the sun but everything at a trash quality. For the first two hours of this relaxing experience there were small kids screaming, cannon balling and slapping pool noodles onto the water in the one and only location you can actually lay down. There were several facilities not working, outdoor hot tub, sauna, foot bath, and several showers. There was a ‘’relaxation room’’ included in the spa package, this felt more like a dentist waiting room than a relaxing area. All in all, I’m sure a great place to play golf, but avoid like the plague if you want to actually have a relaxing spa day.

Positive experience: Worst afternoon tea ever...fridge cold sandwiches, hard cake and hard scones, with no choice of tea and rudely informed that extra tea costs more (when I mentioned the hard scones, i was informed that they baked them freshly as we walked in!)! Breakfast also a shame with soft hash browns and rude service. Shame as the bedroom was mostly lovely, the reception staff were polite and the spa/pool was fine to relax for a few hours.

Negative experience: Booked an afternoon tea and evening spa session. The hotel and facilities were lovely, however the rest of our afternoon/evening was very disappointing. They only provide 1 coffee per person and any additional was charged extra. The sanwiches were dry and the cake selection was poor, scones however were very good. The spa was very disappointing, even with instruction the lockers are very difficult to use and finding one that works takes time, the spa was very busy and a loud aquafit class was on for an hour of the 4hr spa evening which was not relaxing. We couldn’t use the outdoor hot tub as wasnt working. Additionally to this we booked a 25 min massage, 2 went down without a hitch however after triple checking a time change prior to the session we was left waiting for half an hour and not until going to the front desk was able to find someone to assist, another half hour waiting to find out the spa had not been updated with the time change. The manager offered a refund and the spa also offered to continue with the message complimentary, no cost. Once finished and after wasting an hour of only a 4hr spa session on the mess we attended the desk to retrieve the refund however we faced incredibly poor customer service, was told that it was never agreed for a refund even though 3 people had stated this would be complimentary after the booking issues. This left us all incredibly stressed and upset and we will never be returning. If you're wanting a relaxing spa evening find somewhere else, there is many other affordable and relaxing options in the area and this is not the place for that.

Negative experience: Booked an afternoon tea and evening spa session. The grounds of the hotel itself are lovely, however the rest of our afternoon/evening were very disappointing. We were given one cold cup of coffee each. My partner asked for hers to be reheated, it was brought back 30 seconds later and was the exact same temperature… The cakes and sandwiches were also pretty poor to be honest. We then asked for another coffee but were informed that you can only have one!? The spa was very disappointing, neither of our lockers worked, the spa was rammed with people and screaming kids. We couldn’t get into the sauna, steam room or outdoor hot tub due to the amount of people in there. We had booked four hours to spend in the spa but left after 1. Do not book this for a spa day.

Fantastic experience: Great place lovely spa . Staff really helpful . Needed a new carpet not a worn one in a superior room for sure but was very clean apart from that . Breakfast was requested in room but order wasn't collected so had to ring reception to chase it and they took order for me . Toaster was broken so no toast avaliable . Would definitely go back .

Imogen Burridge 10 months ago

Negative experience: Do not come here for a spa day! We booked this as an anniversary spa evening however, there was so many people that we couldn’t use the sauna or the hot tub. There was screaming kids running around. I wouldn’t describe this as a “relaxing spa experience”. When I complained to the receptionist all he said was that I’ve booked a busy day and he can’t do anything. The afternoon tea was awful, you also are only allowed 1 drink in which my coffee was stone cold. We used the spa for 1 hour and left, even then we struggled to say for an hour. Will never return :(

Fantastic experience: Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa is an absolute gem! I recently spent a weekend here, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel welcome and well taken care of. The entire place has a luxurious yet relaxing vibe, making it perfect for a getaway to unwind and recharge. The facilities are top-notch. The spa is a true highlight—beautifully designed, with a range of treatments that leave you feeling completely refreshed. I tried the full-body massage, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. There’s also a lovely indoor pool, steam room, and sauna, which made for a perfect afternoon of relaxation. If you’re into golf, you’ll love their course! It’s well-maintained, with a great layout that’s both challenging and enjoyable. Even if you’re not a golfer, the scenic views of the course add to the tranquil atmosphere of the entire hotel. The restaurant also deserves a mention—the food was delicious, with a good variety of options for breakfast and dinner. Overall, Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa is the perfect spot for a weekend retreat or a special occasion. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Negative experience: We've visited this hotel several times and usually come to stay when going to Bicester Village however this time was incredibly disappointing. They've put the drinks prices up in the bar to almost £7 a pint and almost £15 for a double gin and tonic. The pool table and cues are falling apart and cash is needed even though it's a cashless venue. On top of this the staff were unaware of how to make the cocktails they advertise and was asking us how to make them. We was then excited to go to the gray's restaurant where we ordered the minted lamb which came out tasting like peppermint chewing gum. We did complain at the time but nothing was done, we then paid the supplement for the cheese board and got the smallest cheese board i've ever received, there was more cheese at breakfast this morning. We then was told they don't serve port or sherry to go with it. This morning we ordered 2 coffees and 4 poached eggs for breakfast, instead we got 3 coffees and no eggs, laughable really. Overall the hotel needs a major revamp as it's all very old and dated, many elements of the spa don't work. We then told reception about our poor experience and was told they'd take the comment on board but that was all, they also forgot our bicester village voucher.

Positive experience: Not an entirely unpleasant stay, but the lack of hot water on the final evening & morning, broken Steam Room, broken Foot Spa's, plus the abundance of gym-going young men everywhere, made it clear this is *not* a Spa Hotel. Rather a golf & gym facility, with a pool and jacuzzi, attached to an old hotel. The Breakfast was good. Rebranding, Repairs and new management is required here.

Negative experience: I went to use the spa as I was gifted a voucher, when we arrived the receptionist was unsure of all the details so there was a small delay. Which was fine, the spa manager came and sorted out the booking and gave us a small tour of one room and then explained where the rest of the items were, so it wasn't really a tour! We got through and used the facilities, we were not made aware that the steam room was out of order, nor that there was no hot water. It was freezing with only the sauna to warm up in. As it was cold inside we debated using the hot tub and sauna outside, however neither looked to be able to use as the sauna was full of cushions and the hot tub had no instructions and was covered, we presumed to keep warm if use however there were no members of staff that we could find to help, so we gave up. There is a Costa coffee machine where before entering you are given a pod to make a coffee during your stay, this coffee was as cold as the rest of the spa and did not have the desired effect to warm us up! We had the two course menu and lunch waitress were lovely and could not fault that experience, the masseur was good, although it felt rushed, however that is based on other massages I have had in the past, I would still recommend a massage there. We contacted the spa via email to raise a formal complaint that we were not warned about the issues once we arrived, nor during our stay, and only know due to club members discussing the emails they had received that morning about the issues. We have not had a response. We arrived at 9am and left shortly after lunch which was around 12.30. We wasted a voucher and paid for an extra person to have a lukewarm experience, with lukewarm staff and coffee to match - note still no response from anyone at the place, nor was there anyone available for an in person complaint. Would not recommend the experience and you'd have a nicer time at Whittlebury Hall.

Negative experience: I booked one night for my wife’s 40th birthday. Around 3 hours into our stay we were informed that a water pipe had burst and there would be no hot water until at least the following day. As understanding as one can be that these things happen, I simply requested a refund so we could check in into a nearby hotel with working showers. They refused despite several attempts to reason with them. I ended up just checking out instead of staying the night. Worst attempt I have seen by management to salvage a bad situation. A real shame as my brother in law got married at this venue a few years ago and swore by it. Birthday was ruined.

Fantastic experience: **Review of Bicester Hotel, Golf & Spa** I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bicester Hotel, Golf & Spa, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beautiful surroundings and the warm, welcoming staff. The hotel itself is set in a serene location, surrounded by lush greenery and a well-maintained golf course. The grounds are picturesque, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The rooms are spacious, modern, and elegantly decorated, offering a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. I particularly enjoyed the view from my room, which overlooked the golf course, providing a tranquil backdrop. One of the highlights of my stay was the spa. It is well-equipped with a variety of facilities, including a sauna, steam room, and a swimming pool. The treatments are offered in didn’t use these but would stop again next time and looked top-notch. The dining options at Bicester Hotel are impressive, too. The hotel's restaurant serves a range of delicious dishes, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. £35 for full course meal but was small portions but was tasty. Breakfast was a delightful affair, with a wide selection of options to suit every palate. The staff in the restaurant were courteous and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. For golf enthusiasts, the 18-hole golf course is a major attraction. It is well-maintained and offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience for players of all levels. The only thing I will say is I found it very difficult to get through the doors with my suitcases and gear and the hotel would massively benefit from automatic doors. Overall, my stay at the Bicester Hotel Golf & Spa was exceptional. The combination of luxurious accommodations, excellent amenities and friendly service makes it a top choice for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some quality time. Whether you're there for golf, the spa, or simply to relax, Bicester Hotel is a place I would highly recommend.

Positive experience: While the grounds were lovely, and the vegan dinner options were gorgeous, the real gem of our trip was the genuine care & hospitality of every staff member we met. The staff at the front desk were so lovely & helpful, and the people working at the restaurant took so much care over our dietary restrictions - everyone chatted, made us laugh, and generally made the holiday feel special. The jacuzzi too - wow!

Fantastic experience: The hotel staff did a great deal to make our stay very special. Highlights included access to pool spa incl steam/sauna rooms/hot tub. Afternoon tea was amazing and would recommend trying SUP hire on the lake. Excellent facilities, very friendly supportive staff who are super helpful, kind and make every guest feel welcome and at home. We look forward to returning again soon.

Negative experience: I recently stayed at Bicester Hotel and was extremely disappointed by the lack of dog-friendly amenities and overall treatment we received as pet owners. Despite the hotel advertising itself as dog-friendly and charging an additional £40 for bringing our dog, our experience was far from accommodating. Firstly, we were made to eat breakfast outside in the rain because we had our dog with us. This was not only uncomfortable but also completely unnecessary. There were no designated indoor areas where we could enjoy our meals with our pet, which left us feeling excluded and second-class. Secondly, the hotel grounds lacked safe and appropriate areas for walking our dog. We expected to find well-maintained paths or designated dog-walking zones, but instead, we had to navigate through areas that didn't feel safe or welcoming. To add to the frustration, although a "dog welcome box" was provided in the room, it felt like a hollow gesture. The overall attitude of the staff made us feel embarrassed for bringing our dog. It was clear that the hotel’s dog-friendly policy was more of a marketing gimmick than a genuine effort to accommodate pet owners. For the extra £40 we paid, we expected a much better experience. Instead, we felt marginalized and inconvenienced. I strongly advise the hotel management to reassess their dog-friendly policies and provide better facilities and a more inclusive atmosphere for guests with pets. Until then, I cannot recommend Bicester Hotel to anyone traveling with their dog.

Hi Poppy, thank you for your recent stay and review. Your review has shocked me as we have gone to huge lengths to ensure that our Fur babies are very much welcome and included. We offer a great welcome pack and an amazing welcome letter to all animals staying with us (including more recently cats)! Pets are more than welcome in our bar area and this is heavily noted though the property and at time of checking in with our welcome letter. We do understand that some guests may not like the idea to share the restaurant with Fur babies so we do restrict access there. We have a 1/2 mile public bridal way which allows you to not only explore our resort but also parts of the beautiful village that you may not normally see. I highly recommend coming again and really exploring our pet offering. See you again soon! Tyrone Hotel Manager

Negative experience: Lack luster in so many ways. The entire place has the look of a place in decay and decline. Under delivers in all ways except the gym and spa. The front desk staff don’t care about their guests. I mistakenly booked an accessible room. I asked to switch rooms if possible. I even offered to pay more. I was told they couldn’t do anything until they talked to a manager who wasn’t there. So I checked the website for availability and not only were there rooms available but it was at a lower price by 50 pounds. I have video evidence of this as I recorded the process to book a standard room on my phone. I won’t post it here yet. Very very disappointed in the dismissive treatment by the front desk. I come to the Oxford area often for work and will never come back to this place. What a shame. This place could be nice but it just isn’t. To use the gym there is a sign in sheet at the front desk. Not a problem. To get into the gym the front desk staff has to press a button to let you through. Many times they are busy or nobody was there to press the button. Why the room key card doesn’t allow entry makes no sense. There even is a place to tap the key card at the turn style. Lastly there was poop on the toilet seat when I checked in. I used boiling water to clean it myself. Yes, I have a picture of that.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am deeply sorry to hear about your disappointing experience during your recent stay with us. Your concerns are very important to us, and I would like to address them directly. Firstly, I apologise for the condition of your room upon check-in. Cleanliness is a top priority, and it is unacceptable that you found the toilet in such a state. I assure you that this matter will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate actions will be taken to ensure this does not happen again. I am also sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with our front desk staff. Your request to change rooms should have been handled with care and efficiency. I regret that you felt dismissed and that our team did not provide the assistance you needed. This does not reflect the level of service we strive to offer our guests. Your feedback regarding room availability and pricing discrepancies will be reviewed, and we will work on improving our communication and booking processes. Regarding the gym access, I understand your frustration with the sign-in procedure and the reliance on staff to grant entry. We will look into updating our system to allow room key cards to provide access, which will improve convenience for our guests. I appreciate your comments about the gym and spa being the highlights of your stay. However, it is clear that we have significant work to do in other areas to meet the expectations of our guests. Please contact me directly so we can discuss your experience further and find a way to make amends for the inconveniences you faced. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we would like the opportunity to regain your trust. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. Warm regards, Tyrone Bird Hotel Manager Bicester Hotel

Negative experience: Awful Managerial Service. My father was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer, this news gravely affected my mother and myself deeply. We have been trying everything we possibly can to make his last days enjoyable, thus we chose to, for my birthday, to go on a family outing to the Bicester Hotel and Spa to have a massage (all 3 of us). Prior to the day, my mother informed the lady on the phone, where she made the appointment, that my father was suffering with Lymphoma cancer, and the lady's response was that he'd be able to have a massage despite his cancer. Flash forward to the day, my mother and I go to have our massage, and my father would go last, but instead of him getting a massage, he was refused by the employees working there to have a massage because 'they didn't want to massage somebody with cancer'. My father waited and sat in the waiting room for over 1 hour and 30 minutes and did not complain once. My mother and I walked out of our massage and found out the news. My mother spoke to the manager and the LACK OF EMPATHY was appalling. she offered no other services to my father, not even offering him a cup of water! The manager downright refused to listen to us and was unable to give us a valid reasoning as to why they chose to refuse his treatment for the massage. You could tell that the manager lacked experience as a qualified manager and she was not a people's person. We asked her 'how would you feel if you were refused treatment for a massage, and you were the only one that didn't get a massage when the rest of your family did?'. She just stared at us blankly and smirked. She had nothing to say and no way to back up her reasoning as to why she refused my dad the massage. I'm warning anyone who wants to get a massage, to not go there because the service from the employees are awful and the lack of empathy is atrocious. 0/10 would NOT recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am deeply sorry to hear about the distressing situation you and your family encountered during your visit to our hotel and spa. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for the way your father was treated and for the lack of empathy and understanding shown by our staff and management. I cannot imagine how difficult this time must be for you and your family, and I am truly sorry that we added to your distress. It is unacceptable that you were given incorrect information regarding your father's ability to receive a massage and that he was left waiting for such a long time without any assistance or alternative solutions being offered. The behavior you described from the manager is not reflective of the standards we strive to uphold. We should have handled your situation with much more care, compassion, and professionalism. I will be addressing this issue directly with our staff to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Our guests deserve to be treated with respect and empathy, especially in sensitive situations like yours. Once again, I am truly sorry for the distress and inconvenience you experienced. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I hope we can have the opportunity to restore your faith in our services. Warm regards, Tyrone Bird Hotel Manager Bicester Hotel

Positive experience: Stop off for us just off m40. Set in a golf course, it’s a quiet countryside location. Good points - staff really nice, friendly and helpful, bedrooms quiet, aircon, decent size, bed comfy, spa pools really good - massive hot tub, jet pool, saunas etc. ate in restaurant - again people really nice, and food was cooked and served really well - it’s bistro style menu, things like gammon steak, eggs and chips, sirloin steak, pork belly, fish and chips - that sort of fayre - but really really well done. Bad points - decor is a bit old / odd. Really drab rooms painted white with odd furniture, plastic protective sheets on the walls behind suitcase rack, odd leather sofas in reception, some really dodgy art work including portrait of King Charles (I think…). Could be really good but needs some design / restyling.

Negative experience: Made a last minute decision to stay at the bicester golf and spa hotel, as we were planning to go shopping the day after. Website of the hotel is quite deceiving.the facilities offered, the staff don't even know anything about including the manager. Managed to locate the pool after getting assistance from James at reception, he was the only person who seemed to know about the hotel and the facilities it offered. Everyone else was useless. Even getting tea bags was difficult. The pool experience was horrendous. No towels in locker rooms. Went with my kids to the pool only to be subjected to racist remarks from a middle aged male. This left my kids very upset. The day before we went to 'Zaara' restaurant and the people sat at the table next to us were also racist. Unbelievable. Will never visit the hotel again and neither Bicester. Worst experience ever, left us feeling traumatised.

Fantastic experience: Used this hotel on a business trip and choose this Hotel because it had a Spa and Gym included in the services on the room rate. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady called Lori on reception, Lori was super helpful and kind, I had misplace one of my phones and was in a bit of a muddle, she answered all any questions on the hotel and pointed us in all the right directions, Lori is a super asset to this hotel, The spa was superb, I had a great swim, and I liked the gym too, We tried the Restaurant for late evening food, which was great, and Dave G was really friendly and super helpful, meeting Dave G I finally met someone who can talk more and me, Dave G another asset to the Hotel,

Fantastic experience: We stayed here for a weekend away, we had a lovely room overlooking the Golf club and the rooms were lovely and clean, spacious and very welcoming. We booked to eat in the Restaurant, it was quiet and very well maintained. A bit dated compared to the rest of the hotel however still great food. We then walked directly opposite to the lounge bar which was a chilled atmosphere with plenty of seats, sports area and a pool table. In the summer, the outside seating area will be a great addition. We missed breakfast unfortunately, as we went for a walk around the grounds. But we made full use of the pool, sauna and steam room. All very well maintained, lovely changing rooms. Lots of parking on site to choose from as well as a driving range which is great fun for all. It is just a short drive from local country pubs and restaurants as well as the famous Bicester Village designer shopping outlet.

Positive experience: Very basic rooms. Synthetic duvets are very used. From outside big WOW from inside HMMM... Reception staff is very nice. The SPA is OK, but it's extremely hot . Couldn't breathe, to be honest. Breakfast - very hard hash brown, cold bacon, eggs hard.. Very nice sausages. The best experience was back massage from MAX! Fantastic guy!

Fantastic experience: Amazing Spa day! I booked myself for a Maternity Moment's Spa package through Spaseekers, they had an Easter offer on. The hotel was impressive walking in. Greeting my welcoming and friendly staff. Shown around the Spa which had a good size pool, hydrotherapy pool and massive jacuzzi. Also steam and sauna and foot spas. There was also a private garden with another jacuzzi and sauna which was lovely to sit outside and read a book, even in April. The pregnacy massage was amazing! I can't remember the name of my masseuse otherwise I'd name her to praise her. She was very good at helping 7 month me get comfortable on the table, my package included a facial which she made sure I wasn't flat on my back and that I was supported. Then a back massage, she had me on my side surrounded by warm towels for support and comfort. The Spa was clean and tidy, as was the hotel. The package included a 2 course lunch, food was outstanding! My husband played golf whilst I had my spa day and was able to join me for lunch which was nice.

Fantastic experience: My mum and I came here for spa experience days (maternal moments for me and mothers day special for my mum). We got lunch and massages included and both were amazing. Could not recommend Max and Mio enough for treatments. All the staff were welcoming and accommodating throughout the day and honestly didn't want to leave. We both agreed the pictures don't do the spa justice, there is a large hydro pool & hot tub, a swimming pool, sauna & steam room (indoors), a hot tub and sauna (outdoors) with plenty of loungers, a relaxation space and foot spa and finally a restaurant, cafe space and bar. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely day!

Fantastic experience: Last week a friend and I had Afternoon Tea at this hotel. The 5 star review deserves its place. The sandwiches, scones and fabulous selection of cakes were delicious and are up there with one of the best afternoon teas experienced. The server, Manuela, was excellent. Very friendly and efficient, and she is a credit to the hotel. We shall definitely visit again. Lovely surrounding gardens too.

Positive experience: Booked a room to have some rest and a lie in but got woken up at 6am with a linin van and food van making so much noise outside the room. When I mentioned to reception staff no compensation was offered. It was a pricey room when I didnt get what I came for.

Fantastic experience: GOLF - Feb First time playing here. Course in good condition bearing in mind the wet winter. 9 holes with various tee positions ( check scorecard online). Negative experience: Had booked into the sister hotel in Burnham. They took our booking and money and then told us they didn't have rooms! They offered us this hotel in Bicester instead. The outside of the hotel was nice and well maintained. The spa was clean and well equipped. The hallway outside our room was not cleaned. Evidence of partying not cleared up despite us arriving around 4pm. There was no mini bar. The bathroom was not very clean with some pubic hair left around the toilet and the shower gel was empty. There was a single hook in the bathroom despite it being for 2 occupants. Dinner was included in the restaurant which was very shabby and the staff although friendly didn't know much about the drinks being served or the meals. There were some vegetarian options but overall limited. The bar was friendly but the seating was worse for wear. This was supposed to be a romantic getaway but the hotel didn't feel special and the upkeep of the rooms, bar and restaurant were poor. Breakfast was below average served in a very tired looking restaurant. I've had better in 2 star hotels. The 'hot' food was luke warm, coffee wasn't fresh, very limited selection of food. It's close to Christmas but we were not informed that there would be noise and late music for parties either Overall poor customer service

Negative experience: We stayed here for a little bit of luxury before our shopping trip to Bicester. Unfortunately it wasn’t that - better off staying in a premiere inn. The rooms were small and basic - uncomfortable beds (definitely not a king size!!) Stains on chairs in the room and on carpet. Bathroom was small and basic. The spa pictures are quite misleading and the hot-tub was a cold-tub. Wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re looking for a nicer getaway.

Negative experience: I went to Bicester Hotel Golf Spar with a group for a Christmas buffet, the meal was the worst I have had ,I wouldn't give the food quality 1 star but its the lowest I can give them.the chicken they served was like eating rubber the roast potatoes were soggy and had a unusual tates, turkey was quite dry very poor selection of vegetables in all it was a big disappointment, wouldn't recommend this place for food to my worst anamy

Fantastic experience: The 2 stars is not a reflection of the room but the drainage issues and our need to keep being moved. We were in the accessible rooms and had to move 3 times due to drainage issues. However staff were amazing and could not be more helpful. The hotel staff and spa were fab and food was amazing x

Positive experience: I was given a spa break with dinner, an overnight stay and breakfast for my birthday. At £320 I feel my son paid over the odds. The hotel looks tired and shabby in places. The spa looks dated. When we called to see when we could use the spa we couldn’t get through to the spa reception. My son managed to speak to main reception who said we could check in at 3pm and the spa was available from midday. When we arrived we were told differently. The system was down so checking in took longer than normal. Our facials were good and the evening meal was lovely. The restaurant wasn’t very busy but my husband heard the bar man telling guests that it wasn’t open! When he told the barman we had a table booked that evening the barman had to check with reception. Communication seems poor. Our superior bed wasn’t very comfortable. Mattress must be quite old. When I took a shower I discovered the body wash dispenser was empty. Surely something that should be checked when preparing the rooms? All in all I found it to be overpriced and if booking a hotel stay or spa break wouldn’t choose this particular hotel.

Positive experience: First time experiencing Bicester Hotel Spa. I booked the twilight experience which at the time I brought it had Halloween special (20% off) which the original price was 115 each. This included afternoon tea and the use of the spa facilities from 4pm-8pm. The venue it self was lovely had a Christmasy vibe already. Though when we sat down for our afternoon tea they didn't provide us a menu on what would be included it was just word of mouth from the waitress. The group I went with we had some dietaries requirements like gluten free and no pork and egg. Which they tried to cater for. When the food arrived for the pork free ones they brought over ham sandwich they kindly removed it and left it with 2 cucumber small rectangle sandwich with butter.. was very disappointed to be honest, I didn't even want to include it in my picture. And because there was so much back and forth and we waited so long for the food. I just accepted it. The whole afternoon tea was not to my taste every was so dry. Even the desserts wasn't to my liking also. And that's usually my favourite. The spa it self was nice. I went for the Thalgo Foot Refresher, which was new to me... not what I expected. They used a scrub from my knee to my foot. I found it slightly painful the scrub. But the oil and the massage was so relaxing. And when I felt my legs and foot afterwards it was sooo soft. It was a good job. Overall it was an ok experience, could've been better according to how much it was.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to write in a rebuff of what the person below/today wrote re spa staff! I visited recently, with a view to joining, as a member, which I intend to do, as soon as I move into the area- the staff were extremely accommodating, and welcoming.

Thamima 1 year ago

Negative experience: My recent visit to the spa did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival, one of the women at the front desk was abrupt and lacked hospitality. Although the changing rooms were clean and well-maintained, the spa itself was average at best. The water temperature was not warm enough and the relaxation areas were far from relaxing. However, the hot shower was a highlight of the experience. The buffet lunch was surprisingly good, but it is important to note that drinks other than water come at an additional cost. While some of the staff members were pleasant, the majority did not even smile. In particular, the lady at the bar at noon was incredibly rude and condescending. Additionally, we received strange looks from other guests due to our modest attire. I have no plans to visit again and would definitely not recommend!

Negative experience: Meet my sister there today, for afternoon tea and it was very disappointing. The lady serving us was very unhelpful, we were booked for 2.30pm she didn’t listen to our drinks orders we had to repeat ourselves a number of times. Then she became frustrated with us as we asked for another bottle of water. After 45 mins we final got our food! The sandwiches were dry, the cakes looked nice but some were still frozen in the middle. No one came to check on us or asked if we wanted more drinks. We finally had a lovely girl Emilie who must of just started her shift came and ask if we needed everything. The only pleasant member of staff we had received throughout our time. Definitely will not be recommending

Negative experience: The hotel doesn’t deserve 4 stars due the following reasons : They don’t have anyone to help you with the luggage. The worst breakfast I’ve ever seen in my life. Broken old furniture Spiders in room Dinner table and chairs are not 4 stars hotel I wanted to checkout the second day at 10 am but they refused so I was forced to stay one more night

Negative experience: Really disappointed, was told when I got there that they couldn't provide any treatments for people who are potentially pregnant or pregnant. Well they told me when I was already lying on the table half naked. Why didn't they ask when I booked instead of waiting for me to arrive and then sending me out, please publish this on your website to save us all time and messing around. GM seemed horrified when I told him on my way out. I have to say that historically I have really enjoyed my visits to the spa and hotel, however I will now not be joining as a member.

Positive experience: My girlfriend and I visited the spa earlier this week. It was on a weekday so it wasn’t busy at all. The pool is very nice and a good size. The jacuzzi was great as were the sauna and steam rooms. Everyone else was very respectful of each other and it wasn’t crowded in the slightest. Must say though, I was left slightly disappointed by the staff at the place. Firstly, the woman who welcomed us into the spa was very friendly and helpful but then afterwards the staff weren’t very useful or helpful. We wanted to use the hot tub outside and asked at reception but nobody seemed too bothered to get it open for us. Then at lunch, we went into the lunch hall in our robes (so it was obvious we were there using the spa) and sat down when one of the waitresses came over and said “can I help?” Quite abruptly. Made us feel like we weren’t welcome at all and were told that there was a specific table we had to sit on despite being told previously that we could sit where we wanted. Would recommend in terms of quietness and cleanliness but pretty bog standard facilities and staff not great.

Positive experience: My husband and I had our wedding at Bicester Hotel, Golf & Spa in May this year. We initially booked this venue because it was in the middle for all our family and friends and provided accommodation for those that wished to stay. Overall the day was lovely, however a few things in hindsight that could have been better. In the time from booking the venue to our wedding date, the DJ which came as part of the package was changed, and on the day the DJ turned up with a friend who sat creepy next to the dancefloor. Beer lines were changed - this played a huge part on picking the venue and the team made an amazing effort to get a barrel of our chosen beer in! There were a few teething issues in the run up, mainly with the departure of Sascha who was amazing, eventually she was replaced with Janine who was fantastic! We had a great day, food was incredible and Hassan an AMAZING host! However sadly our Instamix camera never returned which made me question how safe my properly was ☹️

Dan Allen 2 years ago

Negative experience: Discrimative and old world policies. My fiancé wand I were looking at here as a venue for our wedding guests accomodation and were asked to leave the bar area for wearing a t-shirt, despite the fact it was a smart t shirt and we were advised by reception that we were allowed to dine there. So if youre going make sure you wear a polo shirt unless you want to be judged and discrimated against! I wouldn't recommend the food unless you like eating pre sliced bread from the supermarket and paying over a fiver. I was offended by their actions and as such they have lost any hope of our business

Kiefer Byron 2 years ago

Negative experience: Booked a room on Tuesday morning for room & spa for the Friday took money tried to ring spa many times finally got through and was told they could not do a massage because they were fully booked. I guess it’s not really their fault they are busy but I am disappointed because when I booked the room on the website you can’t book a massage, if I had known at that point they couldn’t fit me in I would not have booked. They need a better online booking system. Also they say on the website that you have to phone to reserved parking & get 10% discount at the shopping outlet yet when I finally managed to get through the receptionist made me send an email & refused to take my details over the phones seemed a bit lazy & just more hassle for me. Why say on the website phone only to tell to tell me to email once I got through it wasted my time. Not a big deal but a bit annoying. Again why cant you book all this with the room online all at once.

Fantastic experience: I had a one night stay here yesterday. The booking was seamless, had 2 requests and they both were met! (Early checkin and extra towels) the communication was on point. Upon arriving the professionalism from the receptionist was great! She was very welcoming and asking questions if I have visited before and how we can make a better stay for me. It was very lovely to see, hear and experience. I had booked the Super deluxe room and it was brilliant! Clean, spacious and good view to the garden. I ate at the restaurant - lunch and dinner and both tasted fresh, hot and a good feeling. The staff there was very friendly and welcoming. SPA - I had booked a 2hr treatment which consisted of a full body exfoliation, a full body massage and a collagen facial! My therapist “Pheobe” was outstanding, to be honest! She was very clued up with the products when I asked.. (many questions! Lol) gave great advice, professional, friendly and humorous.. being a Londoner this spa is very much top of my list! And will be coming back again. This place DID make me feel, relaxed, rejuvenated and fresh.. The only, only thing I would advice them is to change the music in the spa area. The type of music was the same throughout. (Your therapist saved it and distracted me with her positive interaction) If you are reading please update to a more modern chilled Type music as, more ppl like me will visit you and will return repeatedly!!

Fantastic experience: We just spent five nights at the Bicester Hotel and Spa. It was a lovely break and we are rejuvenated the rooms are very clean and the spa is lovely full stop special thanks goes out to James on reception he made our stay very pleasant and also Maxx in the spa who gave me the best massage I've ever had. Positive experience: Stayed overnight the weekend of the coronation . Couldn’t accommodate an hours treatment so booked half an hour neck , back and shoulder massage which cost £52 and the treatment was barely 20 mins and felt really rushed . Expensive treatment for what it was and left disappointed- clearly overbooked . The afternoon tea and all other meals were great - facilities are dated and rooms need a facelift . Great location and surroundings and very close to Bicester Village.

Luckily we managed to get into a couple of yoga classes, but only after we complained. Watch out for kids swim time,it's horrible and very loud!! Negative experience: I booked a spa day for my birthday and left after about an hour. We were disappointed with our welcome and the cleanliness of the spa was awful. There was a lot of mould in the main pool area all along the bottom of the walls, the windows were filthy which really spoilt what would have been a lovely view of the golf course. There weren’t enough loungers and even they felt unclean. The water in the garden spa room was old and the water wouldn’t run out properly. There was no tea or coffee and you had to go to the bar to get your one complimentary tea/coffee which meant being in your robe in a bar full of golfers. We weren’t shown around just had to find out where things were and the sauna wasn’t on outside and the hot tub was covered up and when we looked inside it had loads of bits in. The relaxation room was freezing cold and not relaxing. After telling a member of staff we were leaving we were offered no refund or anything, we received a phone call in which we told The woman why we went and she said she’d speak to her manager about refund etc but never received a call back. Everything just seemed a bit old and worn out and it all just needs a good clean. Overall a really disappointing experience after travelling a good hour to get there. We were put off by a buffet lunch which you couldn’t choose so didn’t even stay for that or our treatments. Wouldn’t recommend.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed. I purchased a a spa voucher through their website as an anniversary present for my boyfriend, the money was taken out of my bank account and I still don't have the voucher. I contacted them, and was even put in touch with their accounts department to figure out what has happened, but no solution has been found. My anniversary has come and gone and I had to organise another gift. They have told me that their online system is down at the moment but there was no mention of this on their website when I made the purchase. They also said the money would most-likely be returned to my account but that has not happened as of yet.

Negative experience: Management especially Paula, threaten. verbally abuses and assaults paying customers. The spa was clearly overbooked and due sickness they could not carry out all the treatments booked. When we went for our facials, they informed us we were too drunk and these would not be taking place. Realising my step mother was sober, they then said they could do her facial 30minutes after her appointment slot. They clearly double booked our slots with another customer!! Not only did Paula try to snatch my phone, put her finger in my face, assaulted my sister by trying to drag her out a taxi. She also tried to claw my face! All this has been caught on CCTV. I have shedule a call on Tuesday with the CEO Graham Payne to discuss this further. I will happily provide evidence of my scratched face and sisters scratched arm. I do not know how this woman is Still employed. I would like to point out we only had 3/4 alcobolic drinks from 10am to 2pm.

Positive experience: Was here for a conference and must say I was very disappointed with the food choices in the bar. I am vegan and had very little to choose from. I had a jacket potato and beans. I asked for no butter as vegan. It came with a salad which had a Mayo or yogurt dressing which meant I couldn't eat it. I only had a small spoon of beans on the potato too. The skin wasn't Crispy either. They need to look at their menu to be more inclusive of peoples diets. They also didn't have any gluten free options.

Positive experience: Booked afternoon tea for an 85th birthday for 3 people. Both types of sandwiches contained cream cheese, as did the smoked salmon bagels which were rock-hard and very stale! The small cakes and scones were fine. When we asked for the bill they tried to overcharge us £7.50 per person . The price had increased that amount in a week. I know people say yiu pay for the surroundings and the view but we were seated in the BAR with no view. Definitely wouldn't recommend or use again. There are plenty of nicer options for less money, definitely not worth £25.00 per person.

Positive experience: We had a nice experience at this hotel. Only giving one less star because we didn’t get the room we specifically asked for at time of booking and we’re also confirmed by booking person that we will get that room. Daughter was little disappointed because we booked junior suite on first floor which has a balcony. She took her telescope to see the stars but on arrival we were told that we can’t get that room as someone was already there. We were given ground floor room which has patio with not such a great view. Otherwise room was very nice and staff was very friendly too.

Negative experience: Currently laying in bed at Bicester Hotel and feeling really disappointed in large parts of our experience. £467.00 paid for the following: One night's bed and breakfast 3 course dinner at Grey's Table d'Hote menu A choice of 1 × 55 minute treatment from: Elemis Superfood Facial Elemis Hot Mineral Boost Garden of Rose Full Body Massage Bottle of Prosecco in the room Full use of the facilities Large bedroom Arrived at just gone 12pm as told that Spa could be used from then. Arrived, signed in and all was good. Got through to the spa to find that a water aerobics lesson was taking place at 12:30pm? Nowhere to put towels for an hour whilst loud music blared out which isn't very relaxing for a spa. Few notes for the actual spa that can definitely be improved: - Both jacuzzi/hot tubs were luke warm, could easily have been turned up a few degrees - Steam room was poor and no actual steam was in it? - 8 sunbeds in total for a whole spa? Very poor and at least 2 of them were broken - Cleaner went around with high powered loud machine for a long time when people are laying around the pool Myself and partner both said that treatments received (Her a full body massage and me a facial) could have been better but were still good. Room is quite possibly the biggest let down. Paid extra for a large room and the room is very bare and out what i assumed was a double bed is two singles pushed together. Very annoyed about this. The decor feels like something from the early 2000's and our TV is about 15 years old and roughly 16" in size. This is not what i would expect from paying alot of money for this room. When we came back from the spa we could hear a lot of banging around, we put it down to the fact that everyone is back to their room getting ready for dinner so did not think much of it. We are now back from dinner and can STILL hear banging around, turns out that our rooms are CONJOINING with someone elses and there is a door connecting us to theirs. No mention of this when booking. Considering we paid extra for a better room i cant tell you how disappointed we are as this is to celebrate our anniversary. Other notable mention is the bar is ridiculously overpriced and when i ordered my partner a glass of wine they served it to me in a pint glass! Could not make it up. I also rang reception area to get a bucket and ice as the prosecco bucket has melted and they wanted £4.50 to bring me some ice. Absolute joke. One thing i will say is that every member of staff we've encountered has been brilliant which is why we are even more disappointed with our experience. I do not recommend booking a spa package at this hotel unfortunately

Fantastic experience: Only used the Spa. Was really good. Hygienic. Spacious. Not crowded on the Thursday we went. The massage was great. The right level on pressure.

Negative experience: Showers too hot then freezing by pool No water in the steam room so no steam Pool really cold Children’s facilities very limited for times provided Children allowed to use hot tubs even when accompanied by parents Children not allowed to jump in the pool although in swimming lessons they are taught to jump in the pool as part of safety training Worse of all, staff really unfriendly every time you visit. Why do they work there?

Fantastic experience: Easy to find direction via google maps. Very close to bicester village shopping outlets. We checked in here on Christmas eve, access the swimming pool with no issue, family room has locker for your belongings and spacious shower room good for family with small children. Breakfast was provided and serving alcoholic drink on christmas day breakfast time that was fun for people who drink we werent able to walk around the area but that's for another time. Plenty of parking spaces. One little complaint is i wish the general check out is a little later than 11am. But im guessing they will be flexible if requested which i didnt try. Thank you team. Me and my daughter will be back for sure.
