Fantastic experience: Does what it says on the tin.

Positive experience: Slightly dated equipment but still works well and has sufficient to avoid too much of a weight during busy times. Machines don’t seem to be grouped in any logical way. Clean and friendly gym tho had no issues.

Negative experience: Attended a spin class at 6.15 pm on 13/08/2024 along with many other members. Unfortunately the instructor failed to turn up to take the class leaving everyone in limbo and angrily disappointed. No cancellation notice was given. Systemic culture that now pervades from some inexperienced and poorly trained instructors. I wouldn't recommend classes at the moment for many reasons. A previous class a couple weeks ago was cancelled due to the instructor not being able to work the music system! Poor, very poor! Stephen Conabeer

Negative experience: Way to much cardio equipment that never gets used always way to many people in there sat on there phones not actually working out Good price okay if you want a social or you love cardio Cues for a bench are longer than rides at Disneyland

Positive experience: I've been using this gym four times a week for the last three years. It's good value, and always open. I change and get showered there before going to work in the morning. The changing rooms and showers are usually very dirty, in fact I've never seen them properly clean. I've been using gyms and leisure centres for 25 years and a certain amount of dirt is expected, but this one is by far the wrankest I've ever used. The showers are barely warm enough. But the gym itself is very good, the equipment is good and there is always a bench available. Could be a bit cleaner too though!

Fantastic experience: Lovely clean welcoming gym. Great atmosphere can come in when you like and workout at your own pace and no one judges you. Everyone is welcome !

Positive experience: Good gym but car park is max 2 hours. I got hit with a fine so keep an eye on the clock!!

Negative experience: The main doors have been broken for weeks and nothing has been done. Queued for nearly 10 mins today to get in.

Positive experience: Great gym, some really good instructors, but also some not so good. I'll let you decide which instructors don't work for you. Ian Harper is by far the best instructor I have had dealings with, fun but professional.

Negative experience: First time at Exeter's Bishops Court gym, I used to go to Torquay's, Very dirty working machines, full of dust and not well maintenance, there is no cleaning station upstairs so, nobody cleans after using...

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love pure gym mainly for the pure gym app, it’s got such a huge selection of workouts that you can work through while at the gym or at home for abs. It really keeps me motivated and trying new things. The staff are great at helping too. I love the sports water bolt on too the lemon is the best flavour

Positive experience: It's a great gym, great facilities. The only thing I would say is that it looks like a 'local gym at 6pm' meme at 6am, it is crazy busy. You'll often have to mix up your session while you wait for machines to become available, unless you can get in at 5am. The A/C doesn't come on until after 6am though. The equipment is a little sparse for strength training compared to cardio, there's 20 odd treadmills, bikes, rowers, etc but only one flat bench press, two squat racks. There's an incline and decline bench press ready set up though which is good.

Positive experience: Ótima academia, mas a manutenção dos aparelhos deixa a desejar, as vezes ficam semanas parados.

Negative experience: First time being at a pure gym as I usually go to smaller independent gyms. The gym is big and does have a lot of machines but at the same time is missing a lot of weight machines found at smaller gyms but this might just be due to their demographic. I also didn't see any racks for weights for leg press ect, they only have racks under some machines which made it a bit more difficult to load up machines with the weight I wanted. It was slightly cheaper than the standard rate for a day pass at under £10 which is good. Overall ok gym a lot better suited for people that are more into cardio or are used to only using the very common machines for weight training.

Positive experience: This has been by main gym for 18 months now and there's nothing much to complain about. It could be a little cooler upstairs and sometimes the users don't look after the changing room as well as they should but the equipment is comprehensive and it's somewhere I always look forward to attending.

Positive experience: Has all the equipment, just rather depressing as it has no windows and can be rather crowded

Fantastic experience: Good spin classes, does get very busy.

Positive experience: Needs a proper bench station, great for general fitness, but not great for training for Powerlifting competition.

Negative experience: Good gym but it is way too hot in there. Either the AC is broken or is not switched on. During peak times it is almost unbearable.

Fantastic experience: This is a very well equipped gym good price and open 24 7 will be joining at the end of the month

Fantastic experience: It's really a good option if u are looking for a spacious and calm gym to workout, the staff are really helpful and got a large number of equipments and stuffs for you to train and meet ur goal

Negative experience: They have shut off 3 of the 5 showers in use. This morning there was 95 people in the gym and they expect us all to share 2 showers because of "energy saving" even though the same amount of people are having a shower it just means we all have to queue half an hour for one

Fantastic experience: The app is great! You can see how busy it is, people are friendly, staff are nice too. Parking is good

Has showers for afterwards and does have disabled access and facilities also. One thing that let's it down is the app. You can't track your own season by inputting what you have done but there are other apps out there that you can

Positive experience: Generally very good. However, hand sanitisation units empty and weights had not been put back in several areas which was a shame. The convenience in gym opening hours, free parking and a great range of exercise equipment makes the monthly cost outstanding value.

Positive experience: Its alright. Lovely choice of equipment but could be more. If you go at the right times its not super packed either. Friendly staff and gym is clean

Negative experience: Awful. Went today for the first time. Couldn't get an answer on the phone number beforehand to ask any questions so just booked a class on line and turned up. No one on the desk, no one in the office. Not apparent where the class was to be held. Asked someone if they knew if there was anyone around, got a 'NO' Wandered around a bit, went to the toilets, smelly and looked grubby. Whole place smelt (to be fair, most gyms hum a bit, goes with the territory!) but added to the overall unwelcoming, unfriendly, grubby atmosphere. Absolutely not for me, left without trying any more to find my booked class, come home, cancelled everything else. I know this place is cheap but i guess it depends what you want out of your visits, I need to like the place to keep the motivation to keep coming back and unwelcoming, unfriendly and smelly is not for me.

Positive experience: 1st visit! Great gym indeed, sadly showers will boil your blood and you are unable to change the temp as there is only an on/off button, so not something you look forward after work out. Other than that 5+ stars!

Fantastic experience: Very disappointed at the moment, as if you want to use weights under 12kg on a Wednesday at around 9am a class removes all the weights on the ground floor. I have escalated this issue on a couple of occasions to Lum & Gym manager James so hopefully they will appreciate my feedback & I can change my review at a later date. Also I do super sets so I use heavy / light weights so I can't just train upstairs. This Wednesday the weights were back & there were new gym members guys & women using the weights as I was. Positive experience: Good equipment and facilities. Helpful and attentive staff. At peak times it does get busy and can be hard to use a particular piece of equipment without a wait. Reoccurring problem with sinks in male toilets, overflow and block up. However for its size a good gym and I'm a happy customer.

Negative experience: Be warned the car park is max 2 hours. Designed only to catch you out! As all my sessions are about 2 hours or more I'll be avoiding this gym. Good gym if you don't have to drive.

Fantastic experience: I decided to change from my previous gym and today was my first day and I really loved every second spent inside the gym. The App I find very helpful too as most answers to my questions are already there.

Positive experience: Good gym, at a fair price. The equipment is pretty good, and gym in open and spacious. The main downside is that they aren't very good at restocking cleaning equipment.

Positive experience: Was at Bishop's Court gym in Exeter yesterday - pleased to be able to go there again but frustrated and disappointed with the lack of adherence to covid rules by gym members and staff/PT's. Nothing has changed since my last visits back in December - tried to leave a review then but PG wouldn't publish it!?? Hopefully they'll have the b*lls to publish this and do something about it!! Hardly any members or staff/PT's wearing masks when they should, multiple members training together and little regard for personal space. None of the above being policed by staff - but then how can they when they're not setting a proper example themselves! Sort it out PG!!

Negative experience: It’s like PureGym can’t be bothered to answer their emails. I’ve emailed multiple times to change my direct debit they have replied once I did not even acknowledge the fact that they that I was unable to change the direct debit details on the website. Very frustrating!!

Fantastic experience: Great gym loads of kit.

Negative experience: Get rid of G24 car park operator. My car broke down any they’re going after me for a fine. Absolute scammers... i’m a puregym member and was using the gym. What a total joke.

Negative experience: At 5pm there is between 100 and 124 people in there and the place is not big enough and spaciousness enough for that volume by far. The machine and so close together that you can't walk from one side to the other without bumping into people who are trying to bench press. People trying to squeeze past your bench when you're lifting, can't concentrate on the lift like that. Bloody dangerous. Either needs capacity reduction or an expansion. Gym group has the same amount of people but there so much space.

Negative experience: . the gym needs a lot more weights or way tracks and possibly more Olympic bars scattered around and the weights area in the middle just takes up a lot of room when you could utilise a lot of the room to everybody is benefit

Negative experience: This gym gets overcrowded and you cant get on anything even with 50 people in the gym. Also not enough equipment.

Negative experience: Air conditioner got broken.....no info known by staff at all....shame

Negative experience: The local gym is great and has good facilities however Puregym as a company do not want to respond to my e mails and are not honouring the agreement that was set up through lockdown namely the Puregymtogether scheme. I have asked the local manager, she got nowhere and suggested I ring the number, I rang the number supplied at 11:20hrs on a Thursday and the number is closed. I have also sent an E mail to customer services who responded asking me questions about my direct debit nothing to do with my questions... I am losing confidence in Puregym and think they are trying to dodge their agreement!

Negative experience: It is a great gym however watch out for the expensive parking fines issued in the "free" car park. Their website states free parking* and the signs in the car park are poor but I recently had a £70 fine for going over my parking limit of 2 hours by 5 minutes. It is unclear on the PureGym website and signage is poor in the car park so I would avoid using the gym car park if you want a proper workout.

Positive experience: Well done, they are taking covid seriously, hand gel scattered around. Equipment clean, nice to see public cleaning after use. my only concern is staff need to keep topping up regularly on the tissue and wipes

Fantastic experience: Been to a few PureGyms but this one had the best equipment and facilities. Staff have also done a great job making it clean and safe.

Negative experience: I exercise in the mornings and use the showers at around 06:45. They are never clean and are full of hair which displeases me. The design of the showers does not help. Apart from this the actual equipment in the gym is good. There is nothing on the gym floor to wipe down equipment after using it.
