Fantastic experience: Fairly priced. Big comfy beds and a lovely breakfast facility.

Positive experience: A huge, 'US-proportioned' hotel in the middle of a retail park. Had no idea it was here but it turned out to be perfect for us. Although a way from the city centre, it's right next to numerous bus routes that will get you to the tourist attractions within 15 minutes. A few minor niggles; the room was a bit too warm for us with no way of reducing the heating other than turning on the aircon. Also my bugbear, no coat hooks! Plenty of room for them. Also, while there were numerous plug sockets on one side of the room, away from the beds, there was only one free one by the beds. We managed with a multi-socket USB adapter but it seemed odd that there were no charging sockets for mobile devices by the bedside tables. We had an accessible room as my partner's in a wheelchair. It was one of the best accessible rooms we've experienced in our travels. Room 120. The bathroom had two wash basins at different heights and a large wet room shower. The room was huge with two double beds; it being a twin. We've only experienced these kinds of sizes before in the US and Australia. Plenty of room for the wheelchair too. Could maybe have done with an automatic door but we managed. Very soft and fluffy bathrobes are provided; with slippers. This made me think there was a spa attached but there wasn't. There's plenty enough room for one. Although the hotel was right next to a duel carriage way, the sound proofing was excellent and we heard nothing from the road. We had the breakfast on our second morning and it was very good. Amazing sausages and perfect fried eggs. While the location and views are nothing to write home about, unless an Aldi sign is your thing, we'll definitely stay here again. It's fantastic value for money and the staff were great and very friendly.

Fantastic experience: Very smart well priced hotel very near the hospitals. Supplied with lovely soft white fluffy dressing gown and slippers. Complementary tea coffee and bottled water. The only fault is that the rooms are very warm

Fantastic experience: I haven't stayed there yet but it is an accessible hotel with good sized car park (check your car in at reception). There is a restaurant on site and a Starbucks at the far end of the car park. Otherwise it is a 15' drive to the city centre but 5' from Derriford Hospital. Friendly staff and a good bar area.

Positive experience: Now like a set from a '70's sci-fi movie, this is actually the setting for us Plymouth folks to have our blood samples taken. The waiting area is like a circle of Dante's Hell, as you wait for 40 other damned souls to go before you. All the time, trying to minimise your breathing to make the most of the meagre air supply... The nursing staff, thankfully, are professional and friendly!

Positive experience: Massive Room, clean and tidy, contains air con, great complementaries (including dressing gown and slippers) location is decent there’s kfc and macdonalds close by, which you’ll be better off going to due to the menu in the hotel being super small and food being passable at best. Also £4 for the smallest size redbull?? Am I dickhead? Also gym might aswell be just a kettlebell in the corner, it’s that bad. Overall great place but lacks the necessities to make it a 4-5* hotel. Also the wifi is free so well done for that future inn

Fantastic experience: First time at this hotel and it was great place to stay . Staff were friendly. The restaurant very good and the staff in their were a credit to them . We stayed due to family member being taken into Derriford Hospital so after a long journey .It was great to have room facilties that made Travelodge, Premier Inn and a few others I have stayed at in Plymouth look second rate in comparison. Will return again to this hotel and thank them for a pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: Loved this hotel,we stayed here for 5 nights and got breakfast included which obviously you have to pay extra for. Staff here were lovely and if you needed anything they did their best to help. The room was nice and clean which got cleaned every day we were there and as this was a suite we had a separate room with tv-settee-fridge and coffee making facilities available. The breakfast we could have which was self-service you had a choice of cooked or continental or both if you wanted all for one single price and I admit I use to fill up so you could literally go till teatime without anything else. Give this place a try as I would go back anytime if I revisit Plymouth.

Fantastic experience: This place is great if you want a clean and comfortable stay at an affordable price. My boyfriend and I are long-distance and always use Future Inn when he comes to stay. It’s really convenient, the rooms are a great size with comfy beds, and the staff are really helpful.

Fantastic experience: I recently stayed at Future Inn Plymouth and had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. I loved the countless free biscuits and apples, which were a nice touch. The daily room cleaning kept everything spotless, and the free ice available at the bar was a convenient perk. My room was clean, large, and extremely comfortable, providing excellent value for money. Overall, Future Inn Plymouth exceeded my expectations with its thoughtful amenities and superb service. Highly recommend for a pleasant and affordable stay!

Fantastic experience: A nice friendly large hotel with a really good food selection at their onsite restaurant. A good relaxing bar space. Hotel is fully accessible and has accessible rooms with wet rooms. Only issue is that the wardrobe hanging rail is too high and can not be reached if you are in a wheelchair. Still throughly enjoyed my visit there.

Fantastic experience: Much better than Premier Inn/ibis…Great price, cleanliness, room size, good beds & pillows, friendly service & housekeepers, thoughtful room design! Free Exercise room, payable washing machines, Separate toilet room, heated mirrors and towel racks, air-con, windows with fly-nets, full size kettle, strong water pressure, free water, free parking, quiet even with windows opened…..only small downside: no fridges and lifts accessible to anyone. Didnt know they were family run…

Fantastic experience: Just spent five lovely nights at this hotel. It is spotlessly clean and we received top notch room service every day. Located a bit out of town but on a convenient bus route. Taxi fare later at night was about £16 from the centre of town. We ate in the hotel a fair bit at night and meal were simple and tasty without hurting the budget too much. The hotel staff were amazing and a credit to their employers. Special mention must go to Team Leader Elaine who tackled every task with a smile and a 'can I help more' attitude. Kieran was a friendly face each night in the bar and always ready to give useful information on the things to do in the surrounding area. Newcomer Leanne was also a delight and obviously already benefiting from the excellent role models already highlighted. Staff so often can make or break a hotel stay and those three totally enhanced our enjoyable stay in Plymouth.

Fantastic experience: Ideal location for visiting nearby family. Good value, clean and comfortable. Stay here often and never had a problem. Air con at this time of year is much appreciated!

Positive experience: This is a budget hotel. You get free water daily in your room however, the furniture is tired, carpets are stained and the decor is 1980's. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are clean. The bed, although soft was very comfortable and I did have a decent nights sleep most nights I was there. My major gripe is the service and the restaurant food. Checking in was OK but service in the bar and restaurant was very hit and miss, some staff were wonderful and others were just downright rude and ignorant. Don't expect an expansive menu, nor anything inventive. The restaurant looks really nice and could be wonderful however, they have many coach tours and they get access to a special buffet. I now wish I'd tagged along and accessed the buffet as there are approx 10 choices on the menu for main courses and none of them were brilliant. Lamb koftas that didn't resemble or taste of lamb, watery soup and rubbery fish. A chicken burger supposedly spiced with Cajun that I'm still searching for however the chicken was so chargrilled I'm not surprised I couldn't taste it and batter so greasy I could have refried it. I stay in hotels regularly and the food here is some of the worst I have experienced in a hotel and it's priced at 4 star hotel rates. I did highlight these issues with the restaurant staff and also with hotel reception staff upon checking out this morning however I was met with vacant stares, blank looks and complete disinterest. One to cross off my company's preferred hotel list.

Negative experience: A risk deposit on checkin i’ve when is pre paid. You might break something! I was told! Gosh my colleague was told she was a risk! Breakfast a joke with loads missing and really value engineered to the lowest offer! These FI used to be great sadly now being shown up by whitbred and travel lodge. Poor show!

Positive experience: Nice and cosy rooms, interesting solution for bathroom and toilet. A small issue with the installation was immediate solved. I'm happy with this accomodation.

Positive experience: This is very mixed, we normally stay in the Future in when we come to Plymouth. The location is convenient and it's generally good value for money. This time, reception staff were great, room great except fir the smell of urine in the toilet. It looked clean but... it definitely was 'off'. We normally eat at the restaurant and drink at the bar however, on this visit we found getting served at the bar took a very long time and the food quality wasn't the same/very small portions for the price. I will stay again only to see if things have improved since this visit. If they haven't, I think I may have to find another 'haunt'

Positive experience: In for blood tests. Very efficient service. Not a long wait. Water available. Make sure u put car reg into tablet to avoid a fine.

Fantastic experience: Very cosy hotel. Good & fair price. Beds are too soft and wobble when you move. Snag list needs completing in toilet. Restaurant a little pricy really but tasty. Shame things were missing like the bread and lemon slice with the meal. Service great. Parking great too.

Negative experience: If I could give it 0 I would. Have fun staying at a government funded hotel that smells like a hospital or an old people's home.

Fantastic experience: Very good standard hotel, for similar price to travelodge etc. Rooms clean , coffee, biscuits, water etc all complimentary. Nice toiletries provided. Bath and shower. Excellent breakfast provided, Shame though that the on site restaurant was poor when it came to the evening meal. In all excellent for the price.

Positive experience: Room was silly sized, 2 massive beds and still loads of room. Checkin staff were nice and helpful, restaurant staff were really nice and the food was good although the table service for an empty restaurant was slower than you’d expect.

Negative experience: Hi me and my partner are currently staying at the future inn right now weve been here for 3 nights and we booked for 4 nights. We found the 3 nights acceptable,tolerable even though the room wasn't up to standard I am mainly concerned about today which is our last night and what happened at 7.30am when my husband went to book the breakfast was disgusting. He was turned away because he was called a liar literally a liar due to the service woman thinking the room number was different from the one my partner gave. He even gave the names of the people staying in the room and still he was called a liar by the waitress saying who was serving him that's not what I can see on my system even though she stated to him that the breakfast was already pre booked and its not left us scratching our heads as to what's actually gone on here. And last but not least to make the sitatuation even more uncomfortable this us our last night so we're still under the same roof as her work and my partner has a diagnosis of schizophrenia and believe me he us not very happy. He has only just come out of a mental health unit and we came here for a few nights to celebrate him being on treatment. It's all very well it being the last night but as that was the situation it has been soiled and it has made us feel sick about the whole holiday now. He feels humiliated because there are other people around minding their own business and they didnt need to listen to this and last my partner feels humiliated on how he was treated infront of everybody. he's been trough way to much like other people who have been down similar paths. This is going to the plymouth herald and if anybody has expressed similar issues I urge you to bring the truth out on some of the staff here.

Positive experience: This hotel has a private area for Blood test. Phlebotomy staff lovely but it can get very busy here. The hotel looks nice toilets and area for test always clean and fresh.

Fantastic experience: Was a lovely overnight stay, the restaurant was really good food, but waited a while and then the order was wrong, they did correct this though, seemed a bit short staffed in the restaurant but the staff were nice at the same time which made it easier.

Fantastic experience: I had a great stay at Future Inn Plymouth. It was the first time I used this hotel chain. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service and facilities available at the price. A standard double room was spacious, nice and comfortable, TV, iron, ice bucket (ice available from bar), toiletries. A good nights sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cardio/gym room available. Breakfast was good but could have had more variety in the non cooked section. No queues for breakfast. Restaurant was packed for dinner. Would stay again. Get the same value as other hotels that are twice the price. £80/night.

Positive experience: Came away for the weekend with the otherhalf to see a friend and for a bit of time out but certainly not worth the price you pay!! Rooms are ok but service is not great!! Bar closed at 10 because we were the only ones in there!! Food was ok but not worth what you pay probably would of been worth going to a premier inn

Positive experience: Hotel as 'room only' works OK I suppose, beds have become uncomfortable as of late, sinking into a large pit in the middle with pillows mainly flat & hard, but more disappointing for food. Awkward dining setup being refused entry to the restaurant several times because one has no reservation, (even though restaurant appears empty & as a resident hotel guest), I gave up dining here in the end. Upset to now see a poor service on offer for breakfast too. 1st morning and there was no continental selection, no meat, no cheese, no fruit- just allowed to run out, no juices, (was only 07:50 so not late). 2nd morning was even worse, just 3 hash browns & some bacon, no eggs, no sausages, no beans. There were no mugs, just lots of half filled, abandoned mugs around the drink station, very few clear tables too. Received a rude reply when I politely stated that there were no clean mugs available, then found the coffee machine was out of action, replaced by x3 flasks of Luke warm water, (make your own instant coffee was on offer), again no continental selection of meat, cheese, chilled stuff on offer, just bare where it should be- I just left. On checkout I mentioned my disappointment but was just told 'OK', sorry about that and that was it, nobody seemed to care or was bothered. Upset I spent £28 on breakfast, had a pitiful breakfast in the 1st morning but had absolutely nothing on the 2nd. I'll probably stay here again but will now look to try somewhere different on my next visit in a few weeks. Its being poorly invested & it shows, equally there seems to be a lack of interest in improving things at this hotel; guest comfort, convenience and quality is failing here.

Fantastic experience: This hotel is the right place to go to because You can get into Plymouth City, where all things to do .There is free parking, which is a big car park, but you must put your registration at the restaurant or reception . The rooms are very good .for January, the room was too hot, so we turned it off, and the room was still warm, which is good. All staff are very friendly and helpful in all areas. If needed, go out food. It's just over the road . The restaurant is large, but it takes a long time to get your from when order to when it gets to the table , but it's worth it.

Fantastic experience: When my partner was in the Derriford Hospital after a serious road traffic accident, the Future Inn was a godsend. The staff were caring, discrete and professional and found me a room immediately and outside normal check-in times which meant I could be in walking distance of the hospital rather than doing a daily 90 mile round trip. They were flexible enough to extend my stay twice as the situation developed and ensured I was able to stay in the same room. I was extremely appreciative of the staff's kindness and professionalism at a really tough time.

Positive experience: I have stayed here 3 times now. My stay was ok but standards have slipped, I had dirty bedding and no staff were available 2 days in a row to service my room, the aircon was broken and not repaired during my week long stay. Competitively priced and very well located but I will consider alternatives during my next visit

Negative experience: Bed bugs!! Stayed here back in October and woke up covered in bed bug bites all over my body and face. Photo attached is of a bed bug I found in the hotel room bed! Flagged the issue with the hotel and all they said was we’ll investigate, hope you’ll stay with us again. I’ve not heard anything since and clearly I won’t be staying again!!

Positive experience: Lovely hotel, room was spacious and clean. I found rooms slightly too warm and bed a bit bouncy, but that's me.

Negative experience: The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation, the rooms are very shabby and dated. The beds are awful, even though I was moved to a room with a new mattress. For the same money you can stay at the premier inn and the beds there are always lovely. The staff were polite and trying their best but wasn’t enough of them. At dinner, service was very slow and my food was overcooked.

Positive experience: Had a problem with the toilet not being cleaned properly. Moved rooms and staff were very helpful. Reasonable price and in a good location for the hospital.

Negative experience: Enquired to host a private event and whilst initial response was received to say first choice date was not available. No one has replied since with regards to my second choice date despite chasing up.. Such a shame as we had our wedding reception here 12 years ago and it was lovely and the service fantastic.

Fantastic experience: The lobby, ample space, the rooms are spacious, and great value for money. It doesn't feel overly crowded, even with a constant flow of check-ins and check-outs. Parking is free. Will stay again.

Fantastic experience: Went for blood test there. Receptionist pointed me straight away to right place, and bloods were taken almost immediately without any issues. Staff was caring, and helpful. Very professional, and understanding. Took bloods from me in no time. Reassured me, and had very good recliner chair as I’m sometime pass out from needles. Positive experience: Great hotel for staying on Devon / Cornwall border. 4 miles from Plymouth Barbican area but Taxis very reasonably priced. Good facilities and very comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Negative experience: I went here for a blood test, so not the actual hotel. It's like a cattle market! People are queued up in a corridor that extends to the hotels entrance area, goodness only knows what arriving hotel guests must think. The whole experience was awful. People should not be treated like this!!

Fantastic experience: We went to an evening wedding reception. The buffet food was amazing! One of the best I have had. I looked out for the chef and personally thanked her.

Positive experience: Good value for the money spent. Very friendly staff, free parking and large rooms. No issues with the hot water or heating. Only downsides were the pillows and the mattress. Please replace them as they offer no support.

Positive experience: We went to this hotel 21 July to 23rd and it was very relaxing experience,very clean rooms everyday cleaning...We lost our toddlers blanket as one of the housekeepers took it with laundry by accident and I did ask where is it...one of the manager told me I put it with laundry which I never did I remember everything that day and she told me she will returned to us of they will find it...besides that everything was fine and very friendly staff!!

Positive experience: The hotel has large open spaces in the lobby, corridors and the rooms are huge. The hotel was clean everywhere, the beds are little hard and the style is little dated now but it’s only cosmetic as it was really clean, we had no issues and would use it again. Location is out of the city centre takes around 10-15mins to get in city centre. There are shops and take aways local to the hotel. All the staff where helpful and nice we interacted with.

Fantastic experience: We stayed here for a long weekend, suite was really nice spacious and clean, staff were excellent, couldn't fault our stay ,hotel was fully booked when we there,that tells u alot.

Fantastic experience: Hotel was fab. We did ask to move rooms due to being next to the air con unit which was quite loud and we were travelling with a baby. However, staff moved us without any issue and were really nice about it. Both rooms were spacious and the beds were comfy. Fab price for what we needed. Breakfast was good, everything was tasty. Positive experience: Nice hotel with large rooms that can fit 4 adults. The breakfast tasted great (one of the better hotel breakfasts that I've had) and the staff were great too. Very friendly and nice, particularly the man that checked us in (didn't get his name) on Friday 26th at about 11pm I think, and the younger female cleaner doing the rooms by us on our floor (we were room 110 if I remember correctly). Would definitely stay again!

Positive experience: The hotel and the staff are great. I have stayed here over a period of years for visits to Plymouth. The problem is the ongoing lack of staff numbers to man the bar and the kitchen. The bar requires an extra person to look after the dining guests and leave the one staff member to run the bar. The kitchen needs more chefs.

Fantastic experience: Attended my daughter and son in law wedding here,stayed Friday to Sunday and everything was just perfect,from the meal on Friday which was excellent value for money to the wedding buffet,I would definitely go there again

Fantastic experience: The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly, Norman was great on checking in and out. They had a boiler malfunction which means for the first night and morning we had no hot water. We were given a free drink in the evening and a free breakfast for any morning of our stay.

Fantastic experience: Booked this place primarily because of proximity to hospital, and it had accessible rooms and free parking outside. There had been a problem about the price quoted by phone, and while no-one at reception was able to sort it out at the time, it was subsequently dealt with excellently by the Duty Manager, Sarah, via email. The hotel provides good in-room facilities including biscuits and bottled water plus robes and slippers in addition to all the standard stuff. Our evening meal was excellent, breakfast OK, possibly better if we had been earlier. There is a pleasant outside area with tables and chairs and for smoking. Will definitely hope to return for next hospital visit.

Fantastic experience: Stayed there multiple times when visiting the area, and I've always had a great time. The rooms are spacious and well-kept, making for a comfortable stay. One of the best things about the hotel is that it's always quiet. I hardly ever notice any noise or other guests, which is perfect when you need a good night's sleep. During one of our stays, there was a bit of a problem with the showers, but it turned out to be an issue with their main generators. They managed to get it fixed pretty quickly, so no major complaints there. Tried room service once, and while the food was good, it was a bit slow to arrive. But well, it wasn't a deal-breaker for me. Overall, we have had a great experience at the Future Inn Hotel, and are planning to stay there again next year. If you're visiting Plymouth and looking for a place to stay, I'd definitely recommend the Future Inn Hotel. The rooms are comfy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to be back next year!

Fantastic experience: We stayed here in March. Lovely hotel. Room was immaculate and plenty of tea and coffee. Easy to control the heat and air conditioning. We even had a bath robe and slippers. I had emailed the hotel before our stay asking if we could check in early and they did their very best to accommodate us. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Our only grip was with the restaurant that was attached to the hotel. The staff member we encountered was rude, never acknowledged us while she was on the phone, no eye contact. Showed us to a table but didn't even bother to talk to us or tell us what the specials were. Needless to say we left. This did not reflect on our stay as we loved the hotel.

Fantastic experience: Reception no issues, room was massive and very comfortable with extras we weren't expecting. The only issue was the restaurant, where the waitress didn't really understand the basics behind service, didn't acknowledge our presence, the soup and fish of the day not given to us on being seated, no drink order taken. Not really a level of service that the rest of the hotel merits as apart from the restaurant it was faultless

Fantastic experience: We arrived early and unable to book in,. They stored our bags and we went for lunch. The staff were great, especially the waitress in the restaurant. She was wonderful. The staff accommodating as we decided to bring a meal in, and they provided plates and cutlery. Will certainty use Future Inns again Thank you

Negative experience: Stayed at the end of November 2022. Registered my car with reception and still received 2 parking tickets (£170 each). First ticket letter arrived at the end of February and at this point it was too late to appeal. I asked a member of the Future Inn to send me an email corroborating my stay and car registration. No reply after a week and I’m on my final warning from debt collection. I appreciate the need for parking enforcement but when the company sending out the tickets issue them almost 3 months late I can’t help but feel conned. Particularly as my car was registered with the hotel for my entire stay. I notice a few customers have had issues with parking. I truly hope someone looks into this to avoid future problems. My stay was average but on the basis of the above I won’t be staying or recommending any Future Inn hotel in the future.

Fantastic experience: Think Premier Inn on steroids, and then some. A proper hotel with proper facilities. A huge room with king size bed, extended comfort, a three seater sofa as well as chairs, wardrobe, large workspace and huge TV. We didn't use it, but there is guest laundry in the package too. You don't get that with competitors in the same price bracket. The onsite restaurant was excellent and nothing was too much for room service. The location is super. A mile off the expressway that comes down from Exeter. Bus stops into town right outside, and on the main road north to Tavistock and beyond. If you want harbourside views in the city centre, your'e going to have to shell out a lot more. If you want uprated, professional and caring accommodation in an excellent location for a very decent price, Future Inn Plymouth is the place to go.

Positive experience: They could do with doing away with the slippers and dressing gowns in the rooms and give guest better choice of pillows in the room and bigger towels in the bathroom. The breakfast was ok just could do with having a plate warmer for the plates. It was reasonably priced. The food of an evening was alright just could do with more of a choice on the menu. The seats in the bar area are not that comfy if you wanted to just sit and chill with a drink. One positive was when we arrived at 1200 we were informed that our room was ready and we were allowed to check early

Positive experience: Good location. Polite helpful staff. Parking outside, have to pay but it is the centre of plymouth. Cold/tepid showers however were quite the turn off. Maybe a bigger boiler is required: hate to list negative points but I like to think reviews are trustworthy

Positive experience: Room spacious and comfortable. Good choice for breakfast. Evening meal not so great - ordered a chicken dish described as korma - my understanding is it should be mild and it was extremely (hot) spicy! Politely suggested to staff that their menu is misguided!

Fantastic experience: I was on a training course. The hotel was easy to find. Lots of parking. Helpful staff and all was clean and tidy. The training room could have had more ventilation. But other than that, a good experience.

Fantastic experience: Room was clean. 2 Queen size Beds. Bathroom was spotless and had grab rails in Bath/Shower. Nice place if you are in Plymouth.

Fantastic experience: Was a birthday party so a big crowd...was plenty of room very comfortable. Food was very tasty and warm, good value for money. Staff friendly patient and helpful

Fantastic experience: We stayed in one of the suites. Firstly this place is outstanding value for money. We paid £105 for one night which we felt was brilliant. Very clean, very comfy and the extra touches of the fruit and wine is a fantastic touch. Only niggles is the AC doesn't really work and is noisy and unfortunately the BIFFA dustbin lorry made a fair bit of noise at around 5am. It is a superb, value for money hotel. We would undoubtedly stay again.

Positive experience: Room size and beds were good. Let down by signs of age and not well kept on top of maintenance and decoration. Room had signs of damp and so did the ceiling in the hall.
