Positive experience: Had a spa day booked with my friend. The treatments were lovely, but there was only one beauty therapist, so one of us had to wait until the other one had finished, pool, sauna, etc. was fine. The reception staff was making coffee, so there wasn't anyone on the desk.

Positive experience: My daughter and I booked in at the spa today. The spa and the facilities ie pool, sauna, etc. did not contact well. The only relaxation area between the two was the café bar. Also it was not made clear that towels and robes would not be provided for spa user’s without a cost of £10! However the spa treatment was very good but would not be returning because of the fore mentioned issue.

Positive experience: Bannatynes is heavily overpriced! Outdated equipment and the place is dirty. Sand and grit in the swimming pool, stains on most of the glass and mold/mushrooms spores growing near the showers.

Fantastic experience: My husband and i had a fabulous spa and treatment day. Lovely staff, separate toilets for the cafe area. We didn't use the gym, but it looked impressive. The sauna and steam rooms are hot enough and so are the showers. Huge changing rooms with lockers that lock from your wristband and a gadget to tell you your locker number should you forget it. Lastly, we had a cream tea when we'd finished. All in all a fab way to spend your Sunday. Pic of hubby waiting for me to freshen up

Negative experience: We had a spa day booked in with an hour’s massage. On our way to Blackpool via the train, we received a phone call from the spa informing us that the massage had been cancelled as a masseuse was ill. “Nothing we can do about it. It is what it is.” I was not happy as we had been looking forward to this for a while and had sorted childcare out for the day. He offered us use of the facilities and to come in and book another day. Not that easy with 2 children and living over an hour away. After 15 minutes we received another phone call telling us that the massage could now go ahead. The massage itself lasted only 30 minutes, we were underwhelmed. Not the hour we had been promised at all. Maybe they had rushed everyone to fit everyone in. Staff friendly and jacuzzi was nice and powerful saves this being a 1 star review. However, we won’t be returning.

Negative experience: When signing up make sure you can pay for full year because if you fall into hardship and carnt afford after not paying for 2 months and after text emails and calls all day everyday threatening they pass you over to a debt place that will pay charge extra £40 plus take you court. No compassion or empathy at all I had paid for 10 months on time last two I really struggled to pay £35 per month did they care nope just wanted their money in full.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner had such a lovely experience at the Spa today. I had a back massage, arm and hand massage and a scalp massage. All were excellent. The therapist was brilliant and so lovely. I'd definitely recommend this little hidden gem.

Fantastic experience: Spa bags, good value, clean and fresh towel and robe. Scrambled egg the best, lightest I've ever eaten. Lots of cheese on toasties. Comfortable, nice furniture in Coffee shop. Excellent service on reception, coffee shop and treatments. Staff very polite, did not chatter to each other during treatments. Only disappointment was the 4ft deep swimming pool. And the afternoon tea comprised of a drink and one scone ?

Positive experience: The place is not great. There were stained ceiling tiles on the way in to the female changing room. The changing room are outdated, locks are faulty, the showers smell. The Jacuzzi is good. Cafe is ok

No robes disappointing had to walk around in a towel treatments was good but was left on the bed for a while listening to the therapists gabb outside then treatments should of been 45 mins went in at 12 30 out the room done by 1.11. Pool steam sauna jacuzzi great. Food was lovely. Parking outside free. X

I've spoken to Customer Service, they gave me the rules , I went with the rules and guess what 30 days later , I'm billed again ! This is stealing essentially! Go to stanley Park gym or jd gyms ! Negative experience: Me and my husband was gifted a spa day for our special 40th birthday and it was the worst spa we've ever been to. Firstly I've never been to a spa that doesn't provide towels or robes so was very happy about paying £20 for the robe hire and when we used the robes after coming out of the pool one of the ribbon was missing so couldn't tie my robe, one of the robes was very worn out and discoloured which wasn't nice and after my shower when l used my towel it was small very poor considering we paid to hire them ans couldnt even provide proper bath size towels. The swimming pool was very cold and the steam room was very busy so had to wait around for a while and only had 2 loungers I'm the whole spa area. Wasn't a very relaxing atmosphere at all. After we went to the jacuzzi we went for our spa treatments to be told to wait in the waiting area outside near the cafe area, that made me feel very uncomfortable sat with everyone in our wet costumes where you can see everyone come in and out near the welcome desk. The spa room was tiny and 3 treatments were all done in less than 30 mins and was the worst massage I've ever had, I even asked the masseuse twice if she can apply more pressure and she didn't, she had rough arms whilst stroking my back with them which wasn't a nice feeling and she was coughing away which again wasn't very relaxing. My husband asked for a deep tissue massage and he said all she did was rub oil over him so he wasn't very impressed either. My scalp massage was really bad, I felt like she was stroking my hair more than actually massaging my head and ignored me when I asked her to apply more pressure, I can honelsy say my hairdresser does a better job. We only spent 2 hours in the spa considering it was a whole day thing and got really busy and we really didn't feel relaxed or enjoy our experience so was ready to leave the changing area was big however would have been nice to have some music to play in the background rather than listening to the depressing news. We ate some food in the cafe and got the smallest panini I've ever seen with hardly any filling just overall the whole experience was very poor we were really looking forward to it together and both were hugely disappointed and we definitely won't be going back to that spa ever again!!

Negative experience: Overpriced and understaffed. Equipment is showing its age - certainly isn't reflective of the membership price. Starting with some positives, the staff are friendly and there are hot food and drink options available at the gym. You can use the fitness rooms when there isn't a class on. Onto the negatives. Trying to cancel my membership has been a headache, and resulted in me paying an additional two months. Tried to speak to someone on the phone, but the lines ring out with no answer. I wouldn't recommend joining if you're looking for a truly flexible membership. The gym is often busy - you can see on the app how many users are at the gym, but there's no reflection of if they're class or pool users. The amount of equipment isn't really adequate during peak times. The equipment is also showing its age, with many machines being switched off or damaged, with no signs of regular maintenance. The inbuilt fans on the treadmills have more human matter in them than a crematorium. Several TVs in the gym have been on the wonk for the past year, and a lot of the touch screens on the cardio equipment are frustratingly borked. Could probably be recalibrated but that clearly isn't a priority. Changing rooms are fine - plenty of lockers. There's always a lingering smell of urine, though. That's possibly the nature of a men's changing room, and not a reflection of the cleaning staff. Equipment wipe-down facilities in the gym are hit and miss. Sometimes they aren't topped up frequently enough. I wasn't aware that the gym offers "spa day" vouchers until reading other reviews. The treatment staff are lovely, and the one upper body massage I've had was very good, but the pool facilities certainly aren't "spa" level. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. The gym bumped up the price of membership from £36 to £40, and honestly the upkeep hasn't reflected that. I'd expect a discount, not a price hike. I definitely expect to be able to get someone on the phone for £40 a month. It's overpriced at the current membership cost. If you were paying £25 per month, it would be fair value, but at its current price, I'd stay well away. There's better gyms in the area for a more reasonable price.

Negative experience: What a terrible letdown this place is! Visited with my friend for a spa day as her son had bought vouchers for her birthday. We paid 20.00 for hire of robe towel and flip flops with a 10.00 refund when you hand them back in at the end. First impressions, the place was dated and very tired looking and in need of some TLC. We decided to eat first in the cafe area. Hugh mistake! The food was horrendous! I ordered a hot cheese & ham panini, paid extra 1.50 for chips. 12 chips arrived on my plate with a small anaemic finger bun. It was cold with a cheese slice and a bit of ham inside. Awful! My fried ordered tuna panini. It looked like dark tuna paste, again on a anaemic finger bun. It had obviously been microwaved as one half was solid! Hence we didnt eat anything. We then got changed and decided to use the facilities until it was time for our spa treatment. Only a few private changing rooms available all with a stable door, so you can see your head and feet. My friends door wouldn't lock! Her wristband wouldn't work, so she had to go back to reception to get that changed! We got into the jacuzzi but within 5 minutes our eyes were streaming with chlorine, so we had to get out! The pool is tiny, and only two loungers available! The sauna room was full, so we decided to wait in the lounge area for our treatments. Our treatments were booked for 2.30. They came for us at 2.40. Same staff who were serving behind reception were doing our treatments. We were both having a Swedish back massage, facial and Indian head massage. Rooms were lovely prepared, with nice lighting and soft music. Back massage was nice but only lasted 20 mins! To much products used on my face it felt really greasy. Felt I needed to rince my face afterwards. The Indian massage lasted 2 mns. I dont really know what she did there, just stroked my temples! My friend is a qualified aromatherapist, and in her opinion it was all very basic. We definitely would not return even if it was free.

Positive experience: One of the better maintained in the group most equipment is available for use good friendly staff Swimming pool is a good size, the only problem is there are people who think swimming lanes are for walking up and down the pool Spa has a good range of treatments with members discounts Cafe has a good selection of food again with members discount

Negative experience: We were here for a spa day, but the lack of loungers is an issue. The jacuzzi was warming up after being turned off so that was out of bounds for us, it wasn't really a pleasant visit, we expected a better experience for a spa day

Fantastic experience: I’m a member at Bannatyne and have had 3 spa treatments now which have all been with Abby. She’s friendly, welcoming and professional and very good at what she does! Makes you feel so relaxed and at ease. You couldn’t ask for a better spa therapist! I always feel lovely after having a treatment from her!

Negative experience: Went for spa day with a friend it was the worst spa day I’ve been on , facilities quite shabby not a relaxing atmosphere small pool really only set up for swimmers in lanes only 2 seats and as the steam room , sauna and jacuzzi were very busy you have to stand about waiting for people to come out , When waiting for our massage we had to go back out into the cafe to wait , they had run out of robes but luckily we had our towels with us that we could wrap round ourselves or we would have been sat amongst everyone eating and drinking in our wet costumes , The only good thing was the massage lovely ambient room and it was very relaxing, Will definitely not be going back !!!!

Negative experience: I do not recommend them as they get payment dates wrong but wont retry then wrongly accuse your payment bouncing, then they keep harassing you for next 2-3 months for the payment they messed up on, its harassment. IF I WERE YOU I'D KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Positive experience: Initially booked for Tuesday and had to change day, was dealt with over the phone easy enough, the treatments were put down incorrect on the system but just mentioned it was it was corrected, I read the reviews prior to attending so was apprehensive but I was pleasantly surprised from my visit with my mum. We booked for 2 x treatments and spa day. Very clean and staff were very friendly and eager to assist. Pool could have been bigger for the amount of people there but was okay, the sauna and steam room are fab & clean. The jacuzzi chemicals were stinging my eyes but got used to it, can’t put a price on hygiene as there were a lot of people in and out of it, good size though. Changing rooms were clean and very good size. Cafe food was nice selection and hot, decent price. The treatments were the best part, the 2 x ladies who did mine and my mums treatments were amazing, very kind and welcoming, put you at ease right away. Massage was top notch, would defiantly come again and will recommend highly. For the price of £85 for 2 people, it was very much worth the money. Please don’t let the reviews put you off as they did me to start with. Only thing that would have had me put 5 stars would have been if there were more amenities such as a salt room, cold room or larger pool and the fact it didn’t feel ‘luxury spa’ rather community area but the treatment room were very ‘spa’ like and wish I was back there.

Fantastic experience: Me and my husband recently had some spa treatments here , Abbey was our therapist, from arriving to the spa and welcomed by becky to having treatments was a really lovely, relaxing experience. I was unsure what to expect as this was my first experience having spa treatments, Abbey was very professional, our mini back massage was so relaxing through to the scalp and foot massage. Really enjoyed.

Negative experience: Truly disappointed! Booked a spa day for me and my daughter for her birthday. This was for use of all the spa facilities and pool and to have 40 minutes of our selected treatment combination. The photos that were shown on the spa day advertisement did not reflect the place we walked into. The pool is tiny, half is for using the swimming lanes and the other half is obviously for people who want to have a bit more of a relaxed time but there were so many people it was quite uncomfortable. It did not resemble a relaxing spa in any way or form. There were literally 2 loungers and 2 chairs by the poolside so we never got a look in with that. There were constantly the same people hogging the small sauna and my daughter struggles with crowded small places so again we never got a look in with that either. We tried to make the most of it though and looked forward to our treatments. I’m a massage therapist myself so I have a high standard when it comes to massage therapies and I was seriously unimpressed. We had a room booked for me and my daughter to have the treatments together and the room was tiny! How the therapists worked around each other and around the beds I’ve absolutely no idea. They were not quiet either when working around the room and kept banging the cupboard doors open and shut. My back massage actually hurt me and not in a pleasant way to get rid of the knots, it was uncomfortable. No routine too it, felt a bit all over the place. Far too much product was used for the facial, my skin burned and I had lotion in my eye. Safe to say we will not be returning. Huge disappointment for a birthday present :(

Negative experience: I’ve been a member on and off for over a year and half and in that time, it’s become quite grotty and in bad condition/state of repair in various places.Notable areas are: Mens changing room shower area - visible black mould on the ceiling panels above the showers. Mens changing room shower area - first door way to the swimming pool, the door frame has badly rotted, and has a large hole in it near the tiled floor. Main gym area - the plastic electric gangway (that the machines plug into on left hand side) has broken sockets/exposed electrics and is thick with dust and cobwebs. Main gym area - exercise bikes have ripped or badly cracked seats and there is always several machines not working Sadly this gym is starting to feel rather grotty with a distinct lack of cleaning and maintenance. You never see any staff in the gym area - and you seldom see anyone cleaning the equipment before or after they use it :(

Negative experience: Me and my partner had a buy a gift voucher and was seen by Chloe who rushed the whole treatment. It was suppose to be 1hour and after getting there early the whole treatment time from when we entered the room to when we left was 30 minutes. The door kept going and Chloe left the treatment room and disturbed my treatment to speak loudly at another customer and get them booked in. Not professional and wasn’t asked what pressure or what areas I was happy to be covered on massage. Wouldn’t go back even if it was free again

Fantastic experience: Had a classic spa day with my mum and the health club is very clean and the staff very friendly Had THE MOST amazing massage the room, the ambiance was just top notch. The oils used were warm and they applied the perfect amount of pressure and asked if we were comfortable This would be a great gift for anyone!

Negative experience: I used to be a member and I'm glad that I dont go there anymore. Back in covid mass schizophrenia times I went there as usual and one older woman grassed me up for not cleaning dumbells I've used despite the fact I was using hand sanitiser before and after each set. I've seen same woman "celaning" them after she finished and it has nothing in common with cleaning. Just fu...ig pretending to do so. Then the same woman was sharing same equipment with her 2 other friends and for staff that was okay ever that there was information saying "just one person using this equipment at the time". It turned out the woman was a friend with staff members so she could do whatever she wanted to. Bunch of clowns who can't even treat all customers equally. Avoid it guys because it's not a friendly place.

Fantastic experience: Went for my first visit today, used the pool , steam room and sauna. It was great. I'm going tomorrow for a session in the gym which looks amazing. I'll hopefully soon get fitter and get my knee replacement working like a normal knee.

Negative experience: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This has been going on for over half a year now... Paid for a NO CONTRACT membership and now they and their partners are chasing money from me after I cancelled a few days after starting it. Now constantly being harassed by Bannatyne, ARC (Debt collector), and Majorlaw (Solicitor) because they want their £45 + cancellation fee. Again, I signed up with NO CONTRACT! (Btw it's now £137 fee...) I will shortly be contacting the FCA and CMA about this unlawful behaviour to its customers. Never been in a debt in my life now im worried my credit will drop down because of unlawful activities...

Fantastic experience: Me and some friends went here for a spa day and had a lovely relaxing time. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I’m also incredibly grateful to the staff. I had left my bikini at the spa and they posted it out to me! Much appreciated as I love over an hour away.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved this place.Fallon the girl who booked us in and served our food was friendly and informative,so put you at ease straight away. The pool is gorgeous 4foot all over and huge The steam room was real hot ,clean and just as a steam room should be The massage by Abby was the best back and head massage I have ever experienced.I have had one in Turkey and quite a few here but she was good. The only complaint I have is the bag of towel,dressing gown and flip flops. You pay £18 ,get 10 back when you've finished .You keep the bag and flip flops which would be great but after getting home I noticed that both mine and my nieces bag had faults along the bottom stitching so the bottom hung out, I was mad I didn't check myself while I was there so if you go please look Beautiful day out.

Fantastic experience: A great experience in a tidy, clean and relaxed environment. There is low level mood lighting with candles, soft music and impeccably fresh and ironed towels. The ambiance was just perfect! I was treated by a lady called Chloe who was friendly, professional and asked me where my pain was. I had the Back, neck and shoulder Swedish massage and afterwards I immediately felt the difference. She was obviously very experienced and I will certainly be returning. Thank you so much.

Negative experience: We went for a spa day but the steam room wasn't working so just had the sauna and hot tub - the hot tub was really crowded. Wouldn't go back for a spa day at all. The treatments we had were brilliant and staff were really helpful. If we had booked just treatments 5 stars low score as didn't feel this was a spa day, you definitely couldn't spend a day there

Positive experience: Showers need a clean. Radiators are rusty and dirty looking. Temperature of sauna and steam room were warm but not hot enough.

Positive experience: Overall it is a good gym, the facilities are great, always clean and the staff are amazing.. only downfall is lack of equipment, could do with a few more machines and benches! Has some great perks like 20% of products purchased and good deals on SPA treatments.

Fantastic experience: I had a great time and Bannatyne Health Club and I’d definitely go again when I visit Blackpool. The staff were friendly and the facilities were good. I used the gym where the modern equipment surpassed what I’m used to at my own gym, but was great. I also used the Steam & Sauna - very relaxing.

All staff are really friendly we can’t fault much to be fair.

Negative experience: Ok-ish. Not many staff around to help or ask questions. Food was average which is probably a stretch. Soup was luke warm. Reception staff were friendly and helpful but if a client does not get all the answers there it's a bit of a staff desert for a newby.

Positive experience: Visited the club on a spa day today, not very welcoming on arrival. Not given and information about facilties, car parking etc. Was left to find things ourselves. We had some lunch, which was ok, clearly microwaved as muffin gone hard. Facilities were clean, spa and pool area ok. Lacked a little atmosphere but relaxing enough. Treatments were great, welcomed once in treatment.

Positive experience: Great relaxing day in the spa and had a massage. The massage wasn't as long as we were expecting and there was little pressure applied but it was relaxing none the less. Food wasn't great!
