Wellington Sports Centre

Positive experience: This is a lovely leisure Centre but the booking system is a shambles. We booked a court at the weekend for an hour 11:30-12:30, wanted to book another ad hock and was told that there was none available, went down to the court, someone was on our court playing pickleball and there were two other courts free. The couple claimed to have booked the court from 11-12 which you can’t do online, luckily we were able to use the court next door. Then another group came in and took our court which meant we had to move the net up. The staff are always polite and helpful but the running of the court hire needs sorting out

Positive experience: I would have given 5 star but after swimming it’s nice to go in the steam room or sauna which is seldom on!!!

Positive experience: We play badminton most of the time The place the environment is outstanding but there’s was light issues in the badminton court wish they will fix it soon

Positive experience: Shame swimming pool, Sauna etc out of operation until August, Pain to get in and out of parking as traffic light system in place. Gym has a good variety of machines to test out. One shower broken needs repair. So gym only right now, no swimming. Will be very good once all the work has been done!!!!

Positive experience: We love Wellington pool and usually a great place to go but the last visit the bars were hanging on the pool. Hopefully this will be fixed with the new refurb.

Negative experience: There are better gyms around for a better price. I’ve left this gym now as the customer service is poor and it’s cheaper elsewhere. Spoke to Sarah about cancelling over the phone and she basically said to be quick as she finishes in 5 minutes. Sent an enquiry about changing memberships as it was cheaper for new comers. Freddie Thomas replied and didn’t read my enquiry at all. When I responded he never got back to me. And that was the final nail in the coffin.

Negative experience: So after expressing my concerns on there facebook page, to which it has now been removed and annoyed me more; i have taken to google to raise my concerns. This is the softplay area which was stated recently to have been cleared. This as u can see isnt the case and also with big holes in the equipment looks to be a safety hazard for our children. Seems they just arent concerned about it at all.

Fantastic experience: Really friendly staff make this a great place to keep fit or improve your health. The instructors ( in my case Phil) take time to find out exactly what you want to achieve and guide and encourage throughout. All areas are clean and well maintained. I thoroughly recommend this centre for all your exercise/wellbeing needs.

Fantastic experience: Family friendly used the pool a few times when visiting family nearby. Usually quite quiet with decent family changing room as well as separate male and female chamging rooms. They also have a soft play area which is a great addition.

Positive experience: A typical sports centre. Parking is good and free. Wide range of activities. The building is a little dated but clean and well maintained.

Negative experience: Urg, turned up for a swim to be told the website is wrong and there is no swimming at the moment. I know this isn't the first time the site is wrong as I've heard members of staff discussing it again. What a waste of time. The site is not useful as you cannot see if sessions are available without logging in and even though I'm a member it is not straight forward to log in. The changing rooms have had an overhaul and are better. The pool itself isn't very nice at all. A big brown box. Some light paint and ideally some windows would really help!

Negative experience: Rude and unhelpful staff, if it was possible I would give this place 0/5. The manager of this sports center the manager Josh called the receptionists dense instead of trying to fix an issue himself

Negative experience: One of the worst experiences I have had with this pool after covid 19! Took my little lock down baby swimming for the first time since it all happened and was very disappointed. Reception staff are incredibly rude and appear to concentrate on their own conversation rather than the customer in front of them. I was sighed at when asking for instructions of what to do as the restrictions are in place etc, the receptionist was very unhelpful and made us feel as though we were a massive inconvenience. The pool seemed quiet unclean and had a lot of all I can describe as 'gunge' on the hand rails etc. The whole experience was stressful and the 3 of us that went did not enjoy our time. This won't be my first choice of pool again and far to cold for babies and young children.

Positive experience: Got to reception and took 6 minutes to finish their conversation before they decided to talk to me , offered a small swimming space for me and my two children and said we had 40 minutes due to a class happening. Was not on website. 2nd time with this swimming pool. Is it worth going back ?

Negative experience: The soft plat area is extremely dirty, looks like it's not ever been cleaned, won't go back until they improve their hygiene standards

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place, everyone is very friendly and the gym is amazingly peaceful. Couldn't think of a better place to spend a few hours relieveing stress.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very helpful and I am really enjoying the Body Balance class it really does me good.

Positive experience: Came to use the pool, which was lovely and quiet on the day we visited. The centre looks old and outdated from the outside but once you are inside the facilities are modern, clean and fresh. The swimming pool doesn't have windows so gives the impression of twilight hours, which we thought was very cool!
