Fantastic experience: Being a member I thought I would highlight my positive experience at Spa Naturel Fitness. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional service provided by Demi and Charlie Demi was incredibly warm welcoming and knowledgeable about the spa treatments and facilities, Her recommendations were spot charlie went above and beyond to ensure I had a towel. His friendly demeanor and attention to detail made me feel like a valued guest. I would highly recommend Dunehnhaigh Hotel and Spa to anyone seeking a relaxing and pampering getaway. Thank you, Demi and Charlie, for making my visit so wonderful!

Negative experience: We signed up to the gym as we assumed it would be kept to a high standard as it is part of a large hotel. We couldn’t have been more wrong. The swimming pool and showers are in desperate need of renovation. The changing rooms and pool are in a general state of disrepair and there is mould in the showers. There are issues with temperature regulation in the showers as well. The disabled facilities are also lacking. There is only one cubicle for those with disabled needs. Unfortunately the people utilising the cubicle are often inconsiderate, leaving their things all over this area even though they aren’t using it at that time and will be in the pool for the next 30-40 minutes, thus preventing others from using it in the interim. The changing rooms can often get quite busy from those using the spa as well. I emailed about the multiple issues and never received a reply. We have since left this gym and joined Nuffield Health where the changing rooms and showers are immaculate and there is plenty of space and plenty of larger cubicles available for those who need it.

Fantastic experience: I had my complimentary treatment today after my swim .Stacey did a great job it was amazing. She was very professional and it was so relaxing. My face felt so soft and my skin looked refreshed. The massage was wonderful so relaxing. Many thanks To the Manager Kieran

Negative experience: My husband and I became members in September last year purely to use the pool, they had a couple of problems with the boiler soon after joining , the pool was closed for a week whilst it was being repaired, since then it has gone downhill the roof is leaking and dripping into the pool, the tiles above the waterline are dirty, the pool area is looking very shabby. The reception area has a small bar but the coffee machine is often out of use, they don't have any snacks to purchase. We've been very disappointed and won't be renewing our membership. It's a shame because this place could be amazing

Fantastic experience: Staff ate all friendly and helpful. Treatments were just what i needed. Facilities are nice. Swimming pool jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Gym is a decent size and got essentials. I Will return and I will definitely recommend. Shout out to Geeta and Caitlin very polite and knowledgable. To be fair everyone is nice in reception too.

Negative experience: Absolute mess, broken lockers, grubby floors, dripping ceilings, broken sauna, no hot tub...wouldn't waste your money.

Positive experience: Relaxing

Positive experience: Nice spa, very friendly staff, good break to unwind. You can choose from all day spa day or 3 hours spa with treatment. You have access to the swimming pool and all saunas. Only down point I'd they haven't had any food to purchase on site, if you haven't book a package with food option we weren't able to purchase separately.

Positive experience: Food absolutely terrible, we had two course dinner included in our package but would not pay them prices either, hotel was very nice, staff are friendly, nice and out of the way

Fantastic experience: Booked a spa experience with 2 treatments at this place for a friend and myself. It was incredible. We started the day off with Afternoon tea, there was no sense of rushing, the staff were very accommodating and friendly, and didn't constantly bombard you with "is everything alright?" Like some places ask every 2.5 minutes. After that, we were given gowns and towels, told to get changed and shown where the spa is. After a 5 minute wait, we were led into separate treatment rooms. The staff were very friendly, polite, they explained everything and gave so many options. Shelby stands out as she was quite talkative, but the funny stories and antics helped me relax a lot more and made it more enjoyable. After 45 minutes, the treatments were over and a world of Stress had left me completely. After that, we had use of the pool and facilities. The pool itself was a little chilly, but not overly, the jacuzzi area was built into the pool and not separate as I thought it might be. The saunas, Steam Rooms and Hot Showers were amazing too. Even though I gave 5 stars, there were 2 things. 1) I was unaware flip-flops weren't provided (unlike most days I've been on) and 2) the gowns weren't suited for the bigger guys (yes, I know, I'm fat and working on it...) But it was an amazing day and certainly value for money.

Negative experience: Looks nice from the outside but scratch under the surface and Dunkenhalgh is pretty shabby and living on an old reputation. This place has the potential to be excellent but needs a huge cash injection to fix its many flaws. One recent example I can provide is the men’s changing rooms. The changing rooms were out of order (no reason supplied) instead, we had to get changed in a hotel room with 4 or 5 other gentlemen. Getting changed in a changing room with other people is acceptable, getting changed with other people in a small hotel room just felt… weird. The door to the hotel room was being propped open with a dirty wet towel and there was no locker to secure my personal belonging. After using the facilities there was only 1 shower (in the bathroom of the hotel room) which we had to wait and take turns showering. When I enquired about the situation I was told “we did put the ladies in that room but they complained, so we put the men in that room instead because they don’t complain as much” The membership for the spa and leisure centre isn’t exactly cheap and the facilities and services to not reflect the price at all. The management of the dunkenhalgh is lacking, it feels like the staff are constantly fire fighting issues instead of addressing the root cause, it’s all a bit of a ‘bodge job’ stick a plaster on it and pretend it’s not an issue. Such a shame that such a beautiful building is falling into ruin. For your money you’d be better off going to somewhere like woodland spa or if it’s just a gym you’re after any other gym will suffice, take you pick from close by gyms, Jetts, the gym group, central fitness… all cheaper, all have just as good if not better equipment.

Fantastic experience: The spa was all spotless A nice way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon. The good thing is they don't allow children till after 5pm. So it is very peaceful.

Fantastic experience: I didn't swim but my grandchildren had a wonderful time in the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful in the lounge area and offered us drinks.

Negative experience: Currently spa is not usable due to renovations . Phoned to book and was not made aware of this, only had use of the pool and gym but didn't want to use the gym. We wasn't told we had to pre book food. The changing rooms are quite cold to say it is a spa.

Negative experience: Luckily the car parking fees had been suspended or this would be worse. At a family gathering, food was below par and drinks were very poor, tea and coffee. The service was poor, 1 person to cater for 25 - 30 people. Not what I expect from the Dunkenhalgh hotel.

Positive experience: The swim pool is very clean and is located in an glass dome on a green shady area of the garden. The bathroom facilities are old but also clean and well maintained. Excellent friendly staff in the Spa and the pool.

Positive experience: Was a ok stay but was woken up by loud people also room was next to a generator and kept me awake half the night

Positive experience: Not very interesting dinner menu, lovely room, but heating didn't work, lots of banging when trying to sleep, lovely staff , pool fab, perfect temperature.

Positive experience: Pool, jacuzzi area along with changing rooms & where we sat for lunch were quite cold. Pool & jacuzzi we only used for about 10 mins due to this. Relaxation room in the spa was closed on our visit 28.2.20 which was disappointing. Our treatments were nice & staff pleasant . Overall cold & a bit "tatty" , could do with a refresh. Wouldn't return.

Positive experience: I enjoy coming here for exercise and relaxation. However, it is in desparate need of an upgrade. Also, at the moment there has been quite a lot of pool temperature issues and the cleanliness of the shower/dressing room is questionable at times.

Positive experience: Didn’t get to experience anything at they closed early on boxing day day. Was hoping to relax after shopping all day but they closed at 6pm. Bit disappointing for a prestigious venue to close so early. Should have called in early to check but seeing at though they are normally open till 10pm every day it didn’t seem intuitive to close so early on holidays.

Fantastic experience: What can I say...pampered from the minute we set foot into the hotel spa... 40mins of relaxing massage then onto a lovely swim in the pool. Teas and coffees on hand plus water... the 5x sauna room where great...and the lunch came in a large black box that was the healthiest I'd eaten in ages... Loved the hotel so much we have re booked again for the spa and 're booked a 2 nights stay in the hotel. We just didn't want to leave so we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. Was not disappointed the food was lovely...only for one little bit I won't mention...but we did get 2 glasses of sparkling wine to go along with our lovely meal. Fantastic experience: We met here to go to a show in Manchester by coach, but enjoyed a drink before departure. The bar staff were helpful and friendly, and the bar area was pleasant bright and clean.

Fantastic experience: Really nice place. Staff are warm and welcoming, going out of their way to provide great service. Food was unbelievably good, quality ingredients and served with pride. Well recommended.
