Positive experience: Too warm! Sweating before I’ve even started. And it’s always smelly and sticky. The ventilation has not been designed correctly and the occupancy levels are obviously a lot higher than expected. Always packed no matter what time we go.

By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Positive experience: Dirty bathroom, rarely any soap, blocked sink, cleaners more Interested in spending time on their phones than working. So called trainers looking at their phones even with a client, no recognition for a bad or good technique and clients safety. Laziness, sitting on the laptops most of the time, especially one of the girls small chubby one walking like she just did a set of heavy squats (naaaah!). Sanitizer station most of the time is empty or half empty or just doesn't work..talking to them is like talking to a concrete wall. Equipment could use some maintenance, missing bits or bits all over the floor.

Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym since opening. The monthly membership fee has doubled since joining. Lack of ventilation makes the gym stinky place.

Positive experience: Quality of machines is very good, has almost everything you need although it could do with some sort of upper back row like a T-bar row machine.

Positive experience: Equipment is ok but whenever I go there and look for a PT there is no one to talk to.

Positive experience: It was my first time at the Gravesend gym and I was quite impressed by everything. What impressed me the most was the quantity of treadmills free to use so you don't have to wait on anyone to have a turn. There were enough equipment for such small space and also less busy for easy access to all equipment.

Fantastic experience: The gym is clean and efficient
Hi George, thanks for taking the time to leave this review. Thank you for your feedback regarding the air conditioning in the gym. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. With regards to the temperature in the gym, we use air conditioning units which heat the air when it drops below 17.5C, and cools the air when it goes higher than 21.5C, keeping the temperature within the gym at an acceptable level. This is regularly checked to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. On occasion, we can get faults on our ventilation and AC systems which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Positive experience: The clientèle is awful. People don't put weights back. Empty bottles and paper towels all over the place. The staff are brilliant and try their best. Great asset to Pure Gym.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Lovely gym, ive been to lots of pure gym’s across the UK, the equiptment here is by far the best of all i have been to. Many have Matrix branded machines which are not great for anyone who has been lifting longer than a couple of years. The ones here are all Precor lifting machines. For anyone who does not know, this brand of machines are very well known in the lifting community across the UK and USA. You can tell they have been maintained well over time ♀️ Nice set of cardio equipt. Could do with a refresh as they seem a little under the weather now ♂️ Members mind their own business and get on with their workouts too ⏱️ For the price, it’s hard to beat Will visit everytime i am in GSend. Positive experience: Very good gym with lots of variety and classes. However today's spin class which is only 30mins, instructor was 5mins late and finished 5mins early, not impressed. Also gents changing room is poorly cleaned and no working urinals.

Positive experience: Need proper functional water refill stations and not a water fountain that allows people to put their mouth on and touch. Only other thing is having to carry the dumbbells across the gym to the other flat benches when they are full. Having more dumbbells for the other side would be helpful

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Positive experience: Equipment was in line with some other PG locations but the changing facilities were poor, I think I was dirtier after showering.

Positive experience: I have been a pure gym member for the last month after leaving the gym due to the ridiculous price increase. I must say that this gym is great. I truly wish that I moved to this gym earlier than before . Pricing ~ reasonable pricing for such a big gym including free parking for 2 hours Parking ~ as mentioned above I exercise for 1hr and 30 minutes which allows the last 30 minutes to shop around in Gravesend The location ~ great location as it only takes me 5 minutes via car and 15 minutes via bus to access this gym The gym itself ~ it's a massive gym, with different sections which is tailored to everyone's needs. I was taken aback that there are 2/3 sections where you can do freestyle training. The 3rd one is usually used for classes but can be used for freestyle when a class is not happening. The only disappointment is the air con which I have raised several times and I am aware that its an issue that they are trying to sort out The equipment ~ there is so much equipment to be used , even duplicates, or in the case of treadmill and cross trainer - A LOT! You will never have to wait to jump in a set as the equipment is easily available The only downside is that there could be more stairmasters as this is a popular machine and a removal of the treadmills. Cleanliness~ although I see all the machines and the gym being cleaned in the morning, it is quite disappointing that the standards are not kept throughout the day. For example my previous gym Cleanliness was 4 and a half starts as the staff cleaned it throughout the day . It's disappointing to see tissues in machines or equipment laying down as gym members can't be asked to put it back . Subsequently its disappointing to see that the cleaning bottles not filled regularly. This can be improved! The staff- Ade has been a pleasure to speak to his very attentive and accommodating as a manager should be. He is aware of the above as I am able to speak to him freely. He makes sure he greets me wherever I am . Five starts to him and I'm sure his gym will receive better starts in the coming months due to his kindness. I have been attending the gym for a month and the other staff members Grace and Eamon have started greeted me which is nice as well as another gentleman (with long hair) . However the other staff need to remember to smile at there clients- and not be rude to clients who have just given birth about what excercise they can or not do. Classes ~ have been great and would recommend the cycle/ spin , LBT and strength 30 class just wish it was with the same staff member! Also just a reminder to warm down . My best class has been Grace LBT followed by Eamon Spin / cycle class ! Social media ~ there Instagram hasn't been updated in a while ! Overall I would have given this gym a 5 star but there are some teething issues which I'm sure Ade will be resolving!

Positive experience: Almost every aspect of this gym, is a win - the limited interactions I've had with staff have been extremely pleasant, so zero issues there. Two-fold as to why I'm not giving 5 stars; 1. Not enough cleaning fluid in the stations on the gym floor - I'm not particularly keen on sitting in a pool of someone else's sweat and knowing how easily fungal infections can pass from person to person, this is cause for concern. Please keep the cleaning fluid full and encourage members to clean down after themselves. 2. Leg extension machine is faulty and imbalanced with the lower arm being offset at an angle, placing unequal tension on one limb, whenever the weight is on. If someone that's completed a gym induction sprains or strains a quad, you've left yourself wide open for litigation. Other than that, all good.

Negative experience: A gym with faulty air conditioning!! Hence portable AC units which aren't working as well !!! Might be a good idea to not advertise that you have ac if you have no intention on switching it on - in the hight of summer !

Negative experience: For a gym which increased their prices, surely it's a joke that the A/C hasn't been fixed for SO MANY WEEKS? Can barely last a workout when I'm dripping buckets of sweat... what a joke. I notice you reply to some of these reviews, so feel free to reply to mine or the previous reviews on why this hasn't been fixed yet? Or are you going to ignore it? Edit: Anyone notice they didn't admit whether the A/C is broken or not in the reply? Lol

Negative experience: FIX THE AC, I paid for a gym membership, not a sauna!! Are you waiting for someone to pass out before you fix it?? You increased the membership fee as well, so I'm paying more to suffocate? Someone make it make sense.

By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure me meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based upon size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. With regards to the temperature in the gym, we use air conditioning units which heat the air when it drops below 17.5C, and cools the air when it goes higher than 21.5C, keeping the temperature within the gym at an acceptable level. This is regularly checked to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. On occasion, we can get faults on our ventilation and AC systems which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Negative experience: How am I struggling to breath AIR in the gym. Fix your AC. Its been like a month and I cant train properly. And what makes it worse is the smell, not ventilation the gym and the changing rooms smell so bad

Positive experience: I would give it 2 stars, but the manager is too much of a nice man. Always polite and the only one being proud of what he does. Furthermore, he always says hello, engages and puts effort into building relationships with members. Other staff seem to be forced to be there. Very poor equipment if you're into heavy legs day sessions, and broken down machines take more than 4 weeks to be repaired. I could only last 6 months, as this location does not offer what I am looking for: serious business workouts, enough plates/discs and gym community. Found a really nice gym alternative and I am so happy that I did. So, thank you PureGym Gravesend for letting me down so badly, because otherwise I wouldn't have been looking for another gym and find this gem! Anyway, I might just be grumpy, but take it as you wish. It is my personal opinion and constructive feedback for you would be to invest in more plates, equipment and staff training. I'm out

Positive experience: Good amount of machines for cardio and weights. Free weights are plenty too and is usually put back by most. Staff are friendly. Environment is mostly clean but toilets could be better. Showers are always cold and lacking pressure. But for the price and being 24hrs it is worth it.

Negative experience: Toilets and the change room they’re dirty and some of machine from the gym they’re not working for a long time

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Negative experience: Used to love working out at this gym at 5 am with my friends, but in recent times we have been attacked for training together and some of our memberships have been cancelled because we help each other train better and we support each to keep coming back to the gym as a support system. We guide and encourage each other so that no one drops off. It's a bad feeling when someone comes to say you can't support your friends at the gym. Pure Gym was meant to give us a place where we feel welcomed and not attacked.

Positive experience: For a general gym goer or someone who is just about to start their fitness journey, this is a good place. Sadly what mainly lets it down is the lack of resistance equipment for legs and very limited back training kit, cable attachment. Plus surprisingly lot of men and women are forgetting to put their weights back where they getting it from.Also when the spin classes are going down, it's so loud that I can clearly hear it even though I'm using earphones on the loudest setting, I don't even want to imagine what the other members have to endure.

We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this. Hi Janusz, It is in the Gym Rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times or outside of staffed hours it can be hard to police. Staff on site do everything they can, and we will continue to review ways to combat this.
Fantastic experience: Gym is great but need to change the time the cleaners are there as can’t have a shower in the morning from 5:30 - 6:30 AM. and sometimes even later. This really needs to change.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, with services to clean. Good range of machines to use for workouts and showers to use. Also a wide variety of machines and barbells. I prefer an old school type of gym but this is a good gym especially if your a beginner!

Negative experience: I don’t care what anyone says pure gym is just a starter gym and after couple of months you would leave for a better gym so if your saying that this is is the best in gravesend your lying and don’t say the same old junk cos I like to go and look at different gyms i think that pure gym is a terrible gym compared to bulks or Ebbsfleet it’s the same story with my home town Crayford I hear that pure gym is a good gym but if you walk 2 min then you would reach probably in my opinion the best gym in the south east Crayford weights and fitness

Negative experience: Most of the gym is in the basement so there is no natural light or air. On hot days, the air con is not up to the job and the lighting, specifically in the room where they do classes, is not good on the eyes. They have crammed a fair bit of equipment in, but probably too much. Cheap, but not a pleasant place to exercise. Stuffy, claustrophobic, badly ventilated and at times a bit smelly. Nothing against Pure gym, just the wrong place.

Positive experience: Really like the newer equipment but it's relatively small. Also, the car park isn't ideal for early hours as it feels unsafe.
Negative experience: Hi everyone I was member of puregym about 3 months. In 12 of 7 /2021 I cancelled my membership because they didn't all the stuff. Today 12 of 8 /2021 they charged me again and they are said we can't do nothing about that. you're membership is active for a month more. Becicly they are forcing me to come to puregym.
