Room 13 Fitness: Opinions
Fantastic experience: This is the best gym on the Waterside area. Great value for money. No gimmicks, just a great family run gym
Fantastic experience: I went to Jessie as I had severe back pain and was waiting for my physio appt. I actually ended up cancelling the physio appt in the end as Jessie did such a great job! She really took the time to understand where my pain points were and to not push things too far. Excellent value for money. I need to book another massage in for maintenance actually!
Fantastic experience: Loved loved it . Kirsty the instructor was lovely. And the pace was hard but good. The setting i visited was the box bag class small class just how I like it.
Fantastic experience: Lovely little gym with good equipment. The staff is very friendly and helped me with any questions I had.
Fantastic experience: Top Class gym with excellent service and professional advice. This gym was recommended to me by a fellow professional and the weight machine are old school which in my opinion is better (re-inventing the wheel never ends up better). If you are just starting to train then the machines alone will get you results if you feel not ready for free weights just yet. Even though I have a fair amount knowlege the personal training was second to none and at a decent price with the option of 30 mins as well as the hour which is very unique in its flexability. In just over 3 months I was able to put on 10kg of muscle training 4 times a week. Part of this was the leg workout I recieved from the personal trainer and it was well worth the hour paid session. Very rarely did I have to wait to do any exercise as there are 4 benches and two squat racks in the free weights section alone. The saddest thing was moving out of the area and not being able to continue at Room 13 because getting around on public transport is non-existent. My new gym is nowhere near as good and as soon as I learn to drive I will be back for sure. Dan and the team are a great crowd and I would recommend this gym for all ages and all levels and finally it's very family friendly.
Negative experience: Awful place don't go please save yourself money and go to a reputable gym they charge extra for all sorts I'm a level 3 PT a competitive bodybuilder I have been in the industry for over 13 years now and the lady on the desk said I must have a induction as they have different equipment hmm this is something I beg to differ considerably as I have trained at nearly every big gym in England save your money
Negative experience: Don't bother. Trash equipment at premium price. Sneaky extra costs.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, always there to help and very very cost effective compared to other gyms. Very convenient if you live in Hythe as it’s walking distance from anywhere.
Fantastic experience: Just had a lovely massage with Jessie binge back for moreJess
Fantastic experience: Amazing place to train the staff are so amazing and helpful
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of machined and free-weights. The HIIT and Circuit classes are challenging and fun. Fully recommended!
Positive experience: Would give 5 ⭐ if it opened Sunday morning
Fantastic experience: Just went for my first workout. Friendly guy at the counter and all the needed equipment. Not too expensive for what you get also. 2 min walk from my house so I'm happy.
Negative experience: Thought it was fine if a little unprofessional and expensive for what it is (main selling point is convenient location) until discovering changes taped to the gym door. Entire gym closed because single member of staff was sick - let customers know with a sign on the door rather than updating anything online. New "winter hours" completely contradict the expensive (£30) all-hours membership - you pay for weekend and peak hours, but the gym is now only open for off peak hours (open FOUR hours on sunday, 5pm-9pm) and all days have drastically reduced opening hours. No consultation, no warning, just changed once all subscription fees have been paid. Will not be renewing membership, and know a number of others that won't be either. Feel conned, only explanation seems to be laziness/staff convenience at the expense of customers.
