Negative experience: New gym, so the facilities are pretty much very good in regards to air quality, machines, cleaning etc. the parking is also massive and that is always a plus. The big minus is the rudeness and actitude of the staff, specially a blond female PT/Manager. Went to ask a question as needed help and been greated with “no I don’t have time for you”. So no help given as there was no staff on the gym floor to help neither. The only PT that does helps here is Pete, who is always happy to give someone a hand.

Positive experience: I liked the general atmosphere and the vibes were good. Unfortunately, the downside was the less welcoming people were,the difficulty of finding them, but the equipment was good and maintained. I actually would recommend this place for intermediate and advanced trainees. It would cater well for their fascination.

Negative experience: Way too many people both in the early morning and evenings. Some of the members hygiene is terrible and the place often smells bad. Please address this and encourage people to use deodorant / antiperspirant.

Negative experience: Unprofessional Staff and Poor Management I have been attending this gym for over a week, and unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. The staff constantly watch me, seemingly more focused on monitoring whether I return equipment than on creating a welcoming environment. During my last session, I returned all the equipment I used, but the staff insisted I hadn’t. I explained that I had put everything back and that any misplaced equipment was already like that when I arrived, but they wouldn't listen. When I tried to explain myself again, two staff members a man and a woman mumbled something and walked away with smirks on their faces. I reiterated my point, but the woman responded with a fake smile, clearly uninterested in resolving the situation. To make matters worse, my partners access pin stopped working a day after, and I suspect it was blocked due to this misunderstanding. Beyond the unprofessional behavior, the gym's cleanliness is also a concern. Instead of focusing on hygiene, the staff seem preoccupied with policing members. The equipment is often left dirty, with sweat marks and trash in cup holders that have been there for days. This is especially disappointing given that the equipment is fairly new. Overall, this gym needs to seriously reconsider its priorities both in terms of customer service and cleanliness.

Positive experience: It’s in a great location with free parking, it’s 24hr & it’s a big gym with lots of equipment. The changing rooms are always clean & they have a decent number of showers. As you’d expect, it gets extremely busy during the mornings & evenings. Like some other reviews have confirmed, the equipment is often left with sweat & no cleaning stations to be able wipe down. Despite signs asking to bring a gym towel, I rarely see anyone with them. You’ll regularly see equipment occupied by people just sat on their phones, for an extortionate amount of time which is frustrating. However, the most frustrating thing without fail, is the fact that dumbbells & plates are regular left on the floor & on machines. Despite signs requesting weights to be put back or face being asked to leave the gym, I’ve not once seen any action taken on repeat offenders. This last point was made even more frustrating, when I was confronted by one of the trainers when I was swapping an attachment on one of the cable pulldowns. He approached me & said, in an unnecessarily abrupt tone, “make sure you put it back”. He was in the middle of training a client & even though this comment irritated me, I chose to ignore him completely. It did however make me laugh, as earlier that session, I spent time putting back dumbbells that had been left on the floor as well as moving dumbbells back into their correct place… My OCD wouldn’t allow me to ignore it! If you’re a serious gym enthusiast, I’d recommend other gyms with much better quality equipment but that does come at a premium price. You get what you’d expect with this model of gym & for the price you pay at PureGym, it’s actually good value.

Positive experience: OK for the price. No one uses towels and there's nothing to clean the equipment, so machines are covered in other people's sweat which is quite rank.

We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols, including the introduction of cleaning stations, to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Positive experience: Easily accessible to where I'm located, only issue is that there were no cleaning products available to wipe equipment after use. My time of use was between 8pm to 9pm, roughly.

Positive experience: Best gym in Maidenhead so far, mainly because is open 24h. The only thing is lack of cleaning sprays and paper rolls so everyone can wipe machines after themselves. It is not very pleasant to use them when there are still sweat stains on. Apart from that all is good, staff very helpful and welcoming.

Positive experience: Good gym for the average gym goer. But not suitable for (more) serious bodybuilders. The machines are too light. But the selection is alright.

Positive experience: The gym equipped with most of the modern machines but it difficult find most of them when you’re new in to the gym. There can be an option in the pure gym application to locate machine in the respective gym. Also some people tend to sit on the machine and casually go through their mobile than workout even in the peak times. It’s better to workout in the morning than evening if you don’t have much time to finish your workout.

Positive experience: I like this gym since it opened 1 year ago, but recently it became too crowded and it's almost impossible to get a spot for the class. Obviously Maidenhead's population is booming with so many new builds, I wish the gym grew with the town. Space might be limited but the cycle and studio have slots for more classes.

Negative experience: Lots of equipment and good size but now oversubscribed and so busy even at 5am. Plus they have had no handwash in the toilets for four days now and no hand sanitiser (puke emoji) if you can afford another gym I suggest you stay away from PureGym.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting gym today and was impressed. Gym kit was well placed, did not feel cramped and none of the machines had an out of order sign on them. Members seemed to respect the space, all the dumbells were racked and not just left laying on the floor. Lots of kit and more than enough racks to cater for squaters, and bicep curlers! Felt like a grown ups gym!

Fantastic experience: Really good gym. It's big and has everything you need. For example, there are 2 leg presses, and static incline and decline bench presses. I'm driving 20 minutes out of my way to go here instead of the horrendous one in Slough. The difference is amazing.

Negative experience: Desperately needs seated calf machine and boxing bag(s). Nothing to help people train in terms of self defence, very disappointing.

Positive experience: I've been going there for a month now. It's never too busy always enough things to do. Staff are friendly and helpful. One thing I.must stress and that is the air conditioning doesn't seem to work very well. It's fine on cooler days but on slightly warmer days you can't even feel that the air con is on.

We have recently made slight changes to the air con, looking at improving energy efficiency to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure me meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based upon size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. With regards to the temperature in the gym, we use air conditioning units which heat the air when it drops below 17.5C, and cools the air when it goes higher than 21.5C, keeping the temperature within the gym at an acceptable level. This is regularly checked to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. On occasion, we can get faults on our ventilation and AC systems which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. Negative experience: UPDATE October 2024: Now ridiculously busy at 6am. Yes, Am. Every bench taken; every treadmill full Please charge more and stop new memberships. . Horrendously overcrowded. Come in at 8.30 thinking it’s past peak time and it’s basically full. Even lunch time and afternoons can be busy. Even 4pm onwards can be very busy . Please stop adding members. Massively oversubscribed. Also - Toilets often dirty and not looked after.

Negative experience: Each time I've gone, it's been far far too busy. Never able to get onto the machines or free weight benches. They only have one set of each free weight shared between the 100+ people there. It seems fine for cardio but a waste of time for strength training. It's also really dirty and weights are scattered all over the place. Staff take no notice. By far the worst gym experience over my time. Do yourself a favour and go to somewhere that cares for gym culture.

Our gyms are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym. We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Fantastic experience: 1. Got all the equipment and space to work out when the gym is not too busy. There is an up stairs for cables, cardio and changing rooms. Be prepared to climb stairs after a leg session . 2. Decent parking available, especially in the morning. Don't have to worry about someone breaking into your car like Burnham gym. 3. Has the free Yanga water but couldn't see the massage chairs on first visit.

Positive experience: Good gym for the price and best value in maidenhead but the air con is appalling and no paper towels / tissues ? You’re asking people to wipe equipment with what ? Lol

Fantastic experience: 1st day at a new Gym, It's bloody massive with loads of new and varied kit in there. The gym is spotless throughout and although a little busy there was plenty of equipment and space to bang a workout in. So glad to have moved from anytime fitness. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Compared to other pure gyms, this is very spacious and has an open atmosphere. Great PTs and great classes. Does not get very busy. Even if it does get busy, there are always machines available for you to continue your workout. Classes with Judith, Peter, and Callum are great as always. Highly recommend .

Positive experience: Fairly new, so equipped well with machines. Gym wise, it's really good! Showers are a disappointment always too hot and drains blocked.

Negative experience: avoid At 6/7 in the morning there are over 100 people already in the gym, its far too many people and some apparently are not there to workout, they just occupy the equipment to look at their phones, some use the equipment as clothes hunger and bottle holder, people pay to be members and think they are owners, they have no respect for the other members, the lockers are "private lockers", they are all occupied when you get there, loads of people come and go and you see nobody touching them, so if you get one open and empty just put your padlock on it and its yours forever and then people carry their belongs around and there are lots of bags bothering on your way, the best part is, apparently the couches are paid to sit there and do nothing other than looking at their phones it's frustrating

Negative experience: It’s unbelievable have to wait until the staffs fix the broken door. Could you please tell me what is that fire door stand for? I pay for good services, if the door is broken why don’t open the fire door for people to be able to leave. I don’t see any problem in doing that. A big queue outside and inside with no reasons. Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, best value for money imo. Large open space and lots of equipment. This made up for the useless treadmills which don't show calories burnt and the inclines on them either don't work or are extremely slow.

Positive experience: Good value, though no one cleans the equipment after they use it as there is no spray and paper towels accesible for users (I have seen staff occasionally clean). Can get busy and then often a queue to get through the slow door system. Good range of equipment and some classes available without paying the upgrade. Free and plentiful parking. Air con is inadequate in the spin class. App is very good.

Positive experience: Staff are great and it has all the equipment and machinery you could want. Only issue is how busy it gets at peak hours between 5pm-8pm but I usually avoid that and go in the mornings where it is much quieter. Would also be great to have sanitation stations (some spray and tissue wipes) but those are minor points

Fantastic experience: My husband and I joined the gym, having not set foot in one for many, many years! We were worried, I'll be honest, however we love it! We are now doing classes and the instructors have all been brilliant. While I agree that the gym does have busy times, we've never had an issue getting on the machines that we want to, just need to be patient and wait a little longer. Everyone is friendly, not atall bothered by what you're doing, just concentrating on their own thing. Big shout out to Callum, Joe, Sophie and Taz (sorry if I've got that name wrong!) who I've done classes with, all different but fab.....and all so supportive of the pair of oldies at the back I cannot thank them enough, we are so much fitter than we were 10 weeks ago and we now look forward to going to the gym (which I never thought I'd say!).

Positive experience: I really like the Gym and the set up however customer service need to improve Apart from Lee ( Manager) and young pony tail guy every other staff need to change their attitude and be more friendly to gym members instead of being miserable and standing around chatting .

Fantastic experience: Great space and friendly atmosphere! Classes are good & instructors clearly enjoy what they do! As a newbie gym goer there are enough variety of the machines i want to use and ive found that other gym goers are willing to offer help & advice if theres ever been something I'm not sure about which has made my experience so much more comfortable! A nice friendly little gym community which is great ! It does get busy at times but I tend to check the quiter periods on the app & try and go then. The free & plentiful parking is a bonus too ! Myself & my daughter both go regularly and have recommended it to others.

Fantastic experience: I've been to quite a few of the PureGyms and think this one is one of the best. It is nice and big, with a good size studio and cycle studio for classes. The changing rooms aren't the biggest but haven't felt over crowded and have always been nice and clean. It's pretty busy and you have to be quick to book classes, but it's only recently opened so may calm down a bit in the months ahead. I've been to classes by four of the instructors and they have all been good and the instructors very friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work PureGym Maidenhead.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: Since the original posting this has now changed. Gym still remains a good judgement free friendly environment with a welcoming team. The update being that cleaning has been increased and they provide sanitary stations at key places throughout the gym. --------- Good gym, friendly environment with a very welcoming team. The biggest concern is cleanliness there are no sanitising station to wipe down equipment before or after workouts, please rectify this as it is a major health concern

Positive experience: Only gym in Maidenhead with free parking, which means it is very busy, especially at peak times seeing just over 140 people inside, the gym is big but lacking some basic equipment like plated chest press and hack squat. Also there have been numerous times people taking videos inside when people are working out next to them, which is very off putting to some people.

Negative experience: A good gym for great value, however, who recruited some of the staff?! Miserable and unhelpful clearly didn’t come across in the interview. I’ll be joining Braywick when the cheap deal ends !

Negative experience: Too busy No sanitiser stations to clean down your equipment No one puts there weights away when they have used it , if your big enough to pick up weight you are big enough to put it back , stop being lazy

Positive experience: Good, pure gym is exactly what it is on the label. Convenient and well priced. This one is a little smaller than others considering where it is site wise. But parking is great and they have a good range of weights, machines and equipment.

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym, just what Maidenhead needed! It’s enormous, with great equipment. However, I agree that there is quite a bit of empty space considering how big the building is, and how busy the gym gets.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic value and very pleasant atmosphere with great equipment. However, there’s a lot of wasted space at the front of the gym that could be used for a few more machines considering how busy the gym is. Also, would be nice to install a boxing bag or two and some cross fit style air bikes?

Negative experience: Clean and tidy, but very over subscribed, way too many people. It looks like there is room for more equipment. I've been in twice and had to leave as it was too busy.
