Fantastic experience: What a fantastic place!!! I’ve always hated gyms but it now being imperative I lose weight for health issues, this community leisure centre has made getting fitter something I now enjoy, thanks to friendly, helpful, non-judgmental staff & top notch equipment with a great view from the treadmill - da iawn! There’s even a café for debriefing 10 stars! PS Don’t believe reviews saying staff are rude, this has never once been the case. As a former receptionist I can tell you if one is narky with you, it’s 99.9% of the time being reciprocated. Also some leave bad reviews because they can.

Fantastic experience: Staff are always very welcoming at Holywell Leisure Centre, especially Val on the counter who always greets us with a smile.

Negative experience: The place was ok and would go back again. But on the 5th of November the lady on the front desk was one of the worst member of staff I have ever come across, and she was the welcome face that is supposed to greet you. When I walked in she was judging the lady before me that had just paid and was leaving to do whatever she had booked. She was more interested in talking to a lad that was standing behind her on the desk, I could tell she felt put out when I was asking about a few things and she didn’t say anything about needing a locker key when they are given out at the front desk. A bad bad attitude and when I was leaving she was more interested talking to the fella about what she was having for tea than a simple thank you for coming or even to look our way. And this wasn’t a young lady so can’t put it down to that. Shocking really, I would go again but a simple change needs to happen

Fantastic experience: The swimming timetable was very easy to find on line, unlike other leisure centres. The pool and changing area were very clean and did not smell strongly of chlorine. The swimming experience was fabulous, the life guards did not blow whistles and they were friendly. The noise level was low as they have a no shouting policy. An extremely enjoyable family swim. I will definitely be making it a weekly occurrence.

Fantastic experience: My children moved here for swimming lessons after having a negative experience at another swimming baths. They have come on so much since changing and it was the best decision I've made. My son has now completed all the waves and is now doing the junior life guard training.

Positive experience: Huge pool, a little too cold for me but the kids loved it. Baby pools looked great, very busy. Only the showers by the pool were working so a little busy. Cubicles could do with updating, cleaning and lockers don’t all work- you have to get a key when you pay at reception, we were not told this so a little annoying to get changed then realise you don’t have the key to lock your locker! Needs money spending on it to update and modernise facilities.

Fantastic experience: I went to the libruary section which is great.

Negative experience: Verbally assaulted by a female member of staff from the leisure centre following a parking issue on gwenffrwd avenue involving a road traffic cone. I had to flee the scene to de-escalate the situation.

Positive experience: Took my little grandaughter here as I'd read there was a soft play area? Was made welcome, nipped in to the library where we discovered a baby and toddler group on (starts at 10am ), not sure if there's a charge?, we then visited the soft play which was small and SAFE for the little ones , SUPER! - add to this there's a cafe with a good selection of freshly made food available with friendly staff - WILL DEFINITELY GO AGAIN

Negative experience: Rarely answering phone, lacks water fountain. Besides that, great staff and facilities

Fantastic experience: Holywell leisure centre is the heart of the community. Not only for exercising but for well being, and a place to relaxing in the library to having a cuppa in the freindly run cafe. A warm welcome for all ages.

Fantastic experience: We were struggling to get a venue the day before my daughters birthday as the one we were planning fell through last minute. Holywell Leisure pulled a rabbit out of a hat and managed to fit us in with only 1 days notice after moving some stuff around. Not only that, but the staff were amazing and bent over backwards to make my little girls day!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly helpful staff throughout. Cafe based inside the leisure centre (Rozie's Cafe) is fantastic. Also has library & soft play area inside. Various areas can be hired for parties

Fantastic experience: I go to Holywell leisure centre a lot with my 16 month old , we mainly go to the classes in the library and I take my 9 yea old swimming n a Sunday . There is a lot to do at the leisure centre and there is a lovely cafe with plenty of choice .

Negative experience: Went to soft play with the babies and it was absolutely filthy there was food all over the place, food left on tables and in the soft play area .

Fantastic experience: Great place for swimming lessons. We travel 20 minutes to go here as staff are great and very helpful. Highly recommended. Parking is fun at peak times but you can park by the shops which is a minute walk away.

Fantastic experience: The Aqua Aerobic classes have started back up again now, lots of different slots on different days now which you can check online! To book you can either ring or fill a form online, 12 people per session. On arriving you check in at reception then go into the pool area via the old steam room, then you will go to a bench that has a basket that you pop you clothes etc in and the number of your bench will be the number of the changing cubicle you go to after the session! Your asked to arrive with your swim wear under your clothes. Plenty of sanitizing stations dotted about, social distancing is encouraged unless your with someone from your bubble. Gaynor is definitely teaching the Fri morning session but I think she said that she's been covering all sessions for now. Everyone in the class was upbeat and respectful of distance keeping, you can wear a mask in the pool if you want to but no one in our session felt the need to.

Negative experience: went there for a swimming gala The water felt like I was swimming in a swamp it was that hard to swim in and Loads of my friends have stopped swimming there because of the water . The Poolside area is very Much squished on the side and make a struggle for people trying to get past and also maybe make the Galas more comfortable as its always uncomfortable and that's MADE ME NEVER SWIM THERE AGAIN SO GET WORKING TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY

Positive experience: I go to Pilates twice a week with Helen the instructor. The centre has a lot to offer, pool, gym, studios and squash courts plus a play area for mum's and tots. The library is also situated in the Leisure Centre and there is is a good cafe for snacks.

Negative experience: Went into the cafe and the coke is really flat which was in the bottle and we ordered tuna baguette which was very salty and couldn’t eat it wouldn’t order again very poor
