Negative experience: One of the library staff was horrible. Gave her college a lot of work while she was just on the computer

Positive experience: I was impressed by the design of Hebburn Central, which features a library, health centre and swimming pool. I visited to attend a meeting in one of the first floor rooms. Parking at the multi-use centre was plentiful when I visited and free.

Fantastic experience: Really nice and clean, staff are super helpful and friendly. Cafe area looks lovely but maybe needs to be a bit bigger. Also a baby friendly enclosed area downstairs would be ideal for mums & dads.

Fantastic experience: It's my first time in Hebburn Central and was amazed at how much was going on in there . There is a coffee shop come cafe, a huge Library and a kiddy's corner to sit and play colour in or learn to read . Over the other side you have the Swimming baths.

Positive experience: Based on the library alone. You really can't hear yourself think Let alone read, the noise echoes around the place like it would in a warehouse. I asked about a quiet room, which is unfortunately reserved for interviews. Not that I saw anyone in the time I was there (roughly 2 hours It's a shame you can't use the room until it's needed by local councillors/staff. It's a branch library, not a massive selection of books, their fiction section seems better stocked than any other section. They also have groups coming in from schools... And mother and toddler groups.. Probably best to ring up in advance to check out when is the best time to visit. The ladies who work their are lovely, friendly and answered my questions. I'd go back... I'll take some ear plugs and see if that helps.

Positive experience: UPDATE: I have been contacted by the Sports and Leisure Programme Officer from South Tyneside council who apologised for the confusion that day. He explained the Sat 3-4pm slot is available for private hire and they have since updated their website to reflect this, so it's always best to check ahead if there's a private booking in this slot on any given Saturday. Also, they are about to get a drinks vending machine installed. ------------------------------------- Arrived with 3 month old baby at 2:45pm on a Saturday (Learner pool scheduled to be open till 4pm). Paid and got changed. Approached pool just before 3pm to then see sign saying pool closed. Asked staff and was told closed for a private party. Was given a refund by staff who did apologise and said understaffing led to them to lose info about the booking. Got redressed and went home. Annoying, but fine. These things happen. But here's a suggestion. If it's advertised as open to the public until 4pm, keep it open till 4pm and set aside an hour or 2 afterwards for private parties. This would avoid disappointment. The learner pool schedule is limited on a weekend anyway due to swimming clubs on a Sat morning and Sunday afternoon, and this is a big disappointment because weekends are the only time husband can come. Also, cafe had closed early that day so was shut when we arrived. Reason unknown. Was one of the hottest days of the year and there were only food snacks in the vending machine, with unfortunately nowhere to get a drink. Massive shame, as facilities are usually good and pool is nice and clean. Felt sorry for staff.

Fantastic experience: Great, well equipped library. Swimming pool with a good sized kids/shallow section, excellent schedule of events through the week for as well as classes for babies. Gym upstairs is a little small, but well equipped and also has rooms for fitness classes. Sauna is also available, but never been.

Positive experience: Took my 5 month old swimming for the first time along with my 7 year old and partner. For all 4 of us it came to £14! Absolute bargain. Both children now have a Get Active card. The pools here are quieter than the Haven which is what we wanted to practice swimming with the kids. Very accomodating however no family facilities where we could all be together. Nowhere to lay the baby other than the small bench to dress him. Would be abit of a nightmare if i were to go swimming alone with him as when it was my turn to get dressed he would have to lie on the floor for safety.

Fantastic experience: I go for the gym and it's a great experience. Never too crowded, always super clean.

Negative experience: Nice local pool,but when you arrive to pay with a child they never inform you that swimming lessons are about to take place so you can only use the big pool which is always laned off and you have to swim in a clockwise direction hard to achieve when you've got a 6 year old.

Fantastic experience: Very good local authority facility. I use the gym occasionally and find it easy to access with lots of parking outside. Light and airy and the equipment is well kept and modern. Staff all seem friendly and eager to help. There is a pool and also the building serves as the local library.. side note the building is partially clad in Corten steel which is deliberately meant to be unpainted and rust to an even patina. Not everyone cup of tea but I'm a fan.

Little cafe great should be open on a Sunday too especially with chip buttys n gravy like inused to remember as a kid but all in all great for fun family days out xx

Fantastic experience: We often visit hebburn hub swimming pool. It is always clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They were particularly helpful today when my husband suffered a hypo whilst swimming. There was a young lifeguard called Celine who was amazing. She was calm, helpful and very attentive She sourced a sugary drink also made sure we were both OK. Thank you so much Celine your calming influence and help were much appreciated. X

Fantastic experience: I wanted to use the computer and printer. Booked through the council website and arrived to a freshly sanitised work station. Social distancing is in place and I had enough time to complete my work. Very happy with the service.

Negative experience: Today I had plans for to print off papers, this should off been a 5 minute job, I don't know why the printer isn't self service (in other words pay for 10p a copy yourself and get it done yourself which Is quicker) However the policy there is for to seek staff for assistance so I did that, 2 staff were on duty, staff number 1 was busy with customer and staff number 2 was on her mobile/phone for more than 20 minutes, I totally felt helpless and was getting impatient. Eventually I got the attention of staff number 1, I paid my £2.00 fee, 2 pence's, and 5 twenty pence's anyway I returned to the computer only to see that staff put only £1 on my computer to print instead of £2, So then I asked her why is it £1 instead of £2, She replied: aw you didn't say how much you wanted on! (in a dull mannered tone) I thought that was rude and disrespectful as I don't even know that person. Overall I wasn't happy what I ended up with because I ended paying more than I should because of very lazy, bone idol, unhelpful, staff whom I think that are a bunch of dummies that treated me like a second-class citizen. I wont ever come back for any service in that Library, because of its very poor policy. Btw I witnessed during the final days before lockdown staff being very rude and unhelpful to a customer who needed to use a computer! This customer had is own laptop with him but still gets stouted at by staff demening him in an awful way. I personally think staff at this place need sacking because Ive noticed alot of descrimination with femanazi poor attitude staff towards customers. I am disgusted with this place and that customers at all ages are treated like scum. I hope bad terrible things happen in south tyneside while continuing this repression towards the people.

Negative experience: Would give 0 stars if possible! Terrible! Last 2 classes cancelled and no call ahead. They never answer the phone.

From new mams and babies classes to HIIT training and experienced personal trainers on hand for advice or should you want a 1 to 1 type of training. Fantastic experience: Went for a birthday party, there’s a little toddler soft play inside, it’s clean and neat, able to fit a small amount, 15 and less toddlers in. It’s ideal for small party’s. Parking is free outside and is easy to get too.

Gym memberships and water aerobics are great to get fit and healthy for very cheap also there is a great swimming pool that is good just to have fun or do lengths! There is also a swimming team from about age 10+. You can also get membership card which gives you unlimited access to the gym,swimming pool,sauna and leisure activities such as the water aerobics.
