Negative experience: Manager is a little bit extreme about rules considering his staff were trying to hook up with me through Grindr in the changing rooms.

Positive experience: Having recently spent time in PureGyms in Edinburgh and Nottingham, the Tunbridge Wells one was somewhat disappointing. Needs a deep clean and the weights area needs refreshed/modernised. However the cardio area and studio are great. Time to invest in TWells PureGym

Negative experience: Not sure what's happened in the past month but the upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance has plummeted. You sometimes see the same bottles, cans, tissues in the same places days in a row. No tissues in the cleaning station though. Far to hot and it's not even hit 30 degrees yet, can't imagine what the peak of summer will be like. Like others I have spoken too, will most likely follow them to other gyms in the area if it carries on like this.

Positive experience: Some of the equipment a bit dated now I reckon but the new stuff they got in like the bikes are really good. Kettlebells aren’t good enough quality unfortunately and they only go up to 24kg! Need a 28, 32 and 36kg kettlebell please. Also, there’s no room on the bottom floor really to properly use the kettlebells. Top floor there is, but the “heavy” bells are on the bottom floor. If they invested in kettlebells I’d give 5 star. Not great for someone who loves kettlebells. Also, couldn’t see a punch bag anywhere Monthly price is good though and they offer a free sports drink dispenser which is magic. Classes seem good too. Staff friendly If there’s too many entitled posh youngsters in at any one time then it can feel a bit of an unpleasant atmosphere

Negative experience: Very poor upkeep and no assistance from the staff, when I asked a trainer for a missing hook, he gave me a furious look and said, I don’t know, Good bye, extremely impolite. Very very very very poor

Positive experience: Joining was easy and the monthly amount was good. However, due to the location of the gym it's £2 everytime I park my car which amounts to another £40 per month on top of my membership making it expensive. I have never see so many people using their mobiles on hands free in a gym before. Management make no effort to deal with this which is frustrating. Also, very loud members talking in a foreign language is really intimidating occurs daily, again should be dealt with but isn't. The TV screens have been turned off due to cost saving which leaves just music playing which isn't great. They facilties are good but the environment needs improving. Lack of care from staff and an inability of being able to see through members eyes to measure their experience. The drinks are way overpriced. £2.20 for a Lucazade Sport, I can buy the same drink from Savers on the way back to my car for £1.40, why would I buy it here?

Negative experience: That's smell inside it's awful... Plus they removed the hygienic station with paper so no one anymore can disinfected the equipment after use...imagine the bikes after people sweat the equipment are awfull disgusting. Cancelled my membership. No more pure.

We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. Positive experience: Just joined PureGym and overall it’s ok. The application is easy and the iOS app is excellent. Equipment are adequate. The bad thing is The toilet is smelly. I think it will be even worse in summer time. Addition, all The hair dryers in the shower room are all not working. Equipment could be less dense.

Negative experience: Very busy during peak hours, hence smells bad. Cleaning equipment provided, yes, but I don’t think there’s any form of reinforcement of users to clean equipment after use. Seen PTs who don’t clean equipment after their client has used it.

Negative experience: They've removed the cleaning stations from the gym and spin studio, which is disgusting as the equipment is dirty and not forgetting very unhygienic.

Negative experience: Not great, really random set up across multiple floors and areas. Obviously done their best with the space they have but just not a great building to house a gym. This is only my opinion. Staff seemed friendly and helpful enough

Fantastic experience: I joined PureGym at Tunbridge Wells last week. First time in a Pure Gym, I have been a member at numerous gyms in London over the years but never had one that provides so much for such a low price. (Yes, I know that sounds like I am part of their marketing team, but I’m not). Everything was clean and well catered for. I have been going during the afternoon and it wasn’t very busy at all. The machines are modern enough and there are plenty of them. The gym is set over three floors with the lower ground floor being where the classes are. When this is not being used for classes it’s a massive area to do stretching in. The 1st floor is cardio and well catered for with many machines. The ground floor is where all the weight machines are and lots of free weights too. The staff seem to be doing a good job. I did see that a customer had clearly lent his access to a friend but the staff had caught him so were barring the account holder which is fair enough. Thoroughly recommend this place. Positive experience: Overall nice gym and clean. Definitely try to avoid going at peak times as it gets packed. Range of equipment is good but there isn't enough. Kind of ridiculous to have one bench press, end up waiting everytime I go. No Incline bench press as well. But there's 2 useless Smith machines.

Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym with a decent number of machines. Staff are super helpful and on hand a lot of the core hours. Entry lit up well for night visits and parking is pretty easy.

Fantastic experience: Clean gym, good amount of machines to use, good clean down process that was being followed after a session. Staff also came and cleaned equipment to ensure hygiene

Fantastic experience: Really love this gym. Staff are all very friendly and always willing to help and advise, equipment is good and plenty of it too. At £21.99 a month you wont find a better quality gym anywhere near this price. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: no need to lie shower still not fixed i visit yesterday around 11.00 pm . here again you guys show poor communication. to just answer the reviews is not good should fix the tings in reality.. pure gym you be ashamed of lying. very quickly you reply its fixed but in reality not.

Positive experience: It's a very good gym, very spacious (even during peak times you can still find space at machines). The staff are normally friendly and it is kept very clean. Only thing i would complain about is that the gym could use another bench press and another lifting platform but other than that very good gym.

Negative experience: Very dirty, always stinks, no hand sanitizer or hand towels to wipe equipment after so all equipment is sticky from other people's sweat, awful

We’re very sorry to hear about these issues as we take our standards very seriously. It is in the Gym Rules that members should bring their own towels as a courtesy to other members. We made a conscious decision as a company to not provide wipes, so we could reduce waste from all of our gyms. I'm sorry if members aren't wiping down their machines. Staff do regular cleaning checks in the gym and we have dedicated cleaning teams who come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. Of course, during peak times it can be difficult for us to compete all cleaning routines, however as soon as it is possible our staff will complete all procedures and checks.If you have concerns with the cleanliness in your gym we can check the cleaning rotas and ensure all procedures are being followed. Fantastic experience: Can not rate this club highly enough. I was in the area due to family bereavement, dropped in af 6am after a 3.5hr journey and was really impressed with the layout, size and cleanliness. Fantastic range of equipment. Bright. Airy. Fun.

Fantastic experience: Walked one nd half mile 12 o clock at night when i got the entered my pin the fist gate opened but the second not left me get in. Very disappointed try to cancel my membership as i was told, i can use both gym in Tunbridge wells nd Tunbridge. Luckily met a staff, nd got me through help desk nd sorted out. What a nightmare LMAO Gym wasnt very fancy, changing room was closed need to use toilet instead. Aaaaannnnddddd showeèeeeer!!!! U need to book it online nd waite ...........in queue ♂️♂️♂️♂️♂️. Hhhhmmmmmm there is only one shower room. Hahahahh Will stick to local sports centre
Positive experience: Parking nearby at shopping center. Quite a lot of space, equipment available even during rush hours. Have yet to speak with staff so can't say how helpfull they are. One less star for recent hot water issues but probably will get sorted soon

Positive experience: Did my first day today. Firstly the staff are fantastic and happy to help on all things. Cardio room is perfect but as someone going through lower leg rehab I was disappointed at the lack of leg resistance equipment. Plenty of upper body pieces but only a couple of leg and those aren’t ideal. Overall for the money it is good value, although I’m now having to join a second one just for my rehab.
Positive experience: I've only just started to go to the gym, after a long absence from what used to be a happy, and hard, past time. I was pleased to see that it's a very inclusive place, with meaning older men and women, taking part in the activities. As it's open 24 hour's a day, it fits into my unusual work life, and the facilities are excellent. The equipment is well maintained and staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming.

Positive experience: I think it's good value for money, because it's cheap and it's open 24/7. On the negative side:- 1) The aircon doesn't seem to work 2) It reeks of BO all the time 3) It's almost impossible to book space on popular classes unless you pay for advanced membership 4) The equipment doesn't get cleaned often and a few are wobbly. 5) There's no pool, sauna or steam-room (but for the price I wouldn't expect this) 6) If you go before 6AM, there is a music-stopping announcement on the loudspeaker every 5 minutes at an unnecessarily high volume, which will annoy you even if you wear headphones. 7) It gets very busy with lots of gym posers

But we can of course check the cleaning rotas so if you let the Gym Manager know when you’ve visited they can properly investigate. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Similarly, please let staff know on site about any volume concerns so this may be looked into further. I'm afraid it's true we don't have pools and saunas etc. as standard in our gyms as our focus is on providing quality fitness equipment while keeping costs affordable for all members. If you have more information the best way to pass it on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed for updates and improvements. Alternatively, if you contact our Member Services Team with specific information we will be able to forward this on for you.
